And Fallout 2 is better than both, what's your fricking point?
>liking the game with Rick and Morty writing
That’s new vegas
Every Fallout game after 1 was poisoned by that kind of writing. Fallout 1 is the only good game in the entire series.
Yeah, Fallout 1 would never reference a Rick and Morty tier franchis-
Doctor Who has been going on since the 1960's, that's not exactly a fair comparison.
It started to be a quirk fest when this fricker entered the scene. Well before Fallout 1 came into existence. Doctor Who did the quirky science thing way before Rick and Morty.
New Vegas is arguably a more seriously written game than Fallout 1. Just because it features a few jokes doesn't mean its fricking rick and morty
moira brown alone is more rick and morty than anything in 2 or new vegas
I would do things to Moira's ass if you know what I mean
Fricking this. I can't stand people who use the humor of 2 and New Vegas as an excuse for the absolute clownshow shit in 3 and 4. The humor is handled so poorly in those two it changes the entire atmosphere and turns itself into a poor pastiche OF Fallout.
Yeah well I disagree
Ok, That's fine. But the humor is still different to the older games even if you enjoy it.
>le epic talking deathclaw companion!!!!
this shit was reddit before there was a reddit, how cringe
Hi Avellone, sexually assaulted any women lately?
You would hope so, considering Fallout 3 has 17 of them, but no. The Replicated Man is the only good one.
Side quest are genuinely not all that memorable in New Vegas with the odd exception here and there, but NV has consistently good writing so it doesn't always feel like it matters as much.
If it's a contest of which game features the best sidequests then NV wins, but overall 3 has much more consistent ones even if the writing is weaker. They're just more interesting, NV has sidequests that are literally over in less than a minute, where nothing happens at all, you just walk to a place and talk to a character. 3 has zero of those types of quests, every side quest in that game is more involved than that
But NV has many memorable side quests, there is Restoring Hope, Guess Who I saw today, Aba Daba Honeymoon, Three Card Bounty, Bitter Springs Infirmary Blues, Beyond the Beef, I Put A Spell On You, Bleed Me Dry, Bye Bye My Love, and G.I. Blues just to name a few.
just the quest that lets you nuke megaton is already more memorable than all nv has to offer.
Empty spectacle with nothing to aside from becoming a mustache twirling Saturday morning cartoon villain. He’ll frying the NCR at Helios is pretty much the same only you have the benefit of crippling a major asset of theirs in the region and gaining a powerful weapon while you’re at it.
nah, bro nothing beats sending a bunch of ghouls into space.
Especially not some shitty "pass a single skill check and go to some tower" quest that was only made to attract people in the demo.
They did the same bullshit in fallout 4 with the power armor, they gave you a power armour at the start of the game so people playing the demo in e3 would go "wow this is so cool, now I am big robot man".
Not him, but I don’t think they actually go to space, most likely they just get launched near Day Glow.
Jesus. I didn't realize how few side quests there are in 3. And there's even fewer GOOD ones.
fallout 3 is more of a "explore and kill shit for fun" game
>kill shit for fun"
not even that, the gunplay is absolutely terrible.
I don't who decided that guns should have random spread inherent to the weapon that cannot be negated.
quality > quantity
How is this supposed to show the quests on NV have less quality? Also cherry picking.
It's not cherrypicking. There's so many quests that consist of talking to a few people or doing one skill check. I have no idea why they even bothered including them.
Yeah frick having world building and quests where you make decisions that affect the world. Better not use our limited development time to make things like this, instead we should have made more dungeons to clear through for some useless scaled loot!
holy cherrypicking
Fallout 3 has about 15 side quests and a good chunk of them are just "collect these music books" or "collect these Abraham Lincoln belongings" or "collect these special nuka cola bottles" etc.
Obviously New Vegas also has a lot of fetch quests too but it also has more than double the number of total quests
such as?
i kinda like the green piss filter
have you ever tried forming your own thoughts and opinion instead of just using the opinions of others in image form?
I played frick fallout 3 the plot holes are there two I fricking hate broken steel because it turns the end game into a nightmare of albino radscorpions and supermutant overlords. The game was good for its time but fallout NV is better. And the Frontier is better then both because it has cars.
>I played frick fallout 3 the plot holes are there two I fricking hate broken steel
Now I get why you use images to express your opinion
I haven't used a single image because I don't really care I play 3 its was good then better I never enjoy playing it now. I do hate broken steel it's trash.
> Just like your prostitute mother.
Yeah most of the points in this section are complete nitpicks and just overall moronic
They're really not.
3 is dogshit but honestly I don't mind the green filter all that much. Same with the brownish filter in NV. I've always thought mods like Fellout looked uglier than just leaving the filter on.
I feel like I never do the side quests in these games. All of the ones I find naturally through my playthrough are boring
What are some of the best side quests in both of these games respectively?
Fallout 3 -
Oasis
Strictly Business
You Gotta Shoot 'Em in the Head
Tenpenny Tower
The Replicated Man
New Vegas-
That Lucky Old Sun
The Gomorrah Quests
The Companion Quests (especially Arcade, Boone and Raul's)
Someone to Watch Over me
And the best quest of any Fallout game: Beyond the Beef
I’m 6 hours into 3 and I’ve found a single side-quest. I’m unconvinced they’re better.
How so?
Side quests are the one thing New Vegas definitively does better than 3.
By splitting up the factions four ways the main questline suffers.
I'd still say its better overall than 3. Even with the postgame dlc it's a huge slog at times.
DLC in 3 and NV is about equal in my books.
I'm a resident of Vegas so I guess I was just disappointed they didn't have the same level of attention of detail for New Vegas as they did for the Capital Wasteland
I just meant the post endgame dlc for fallout 3. Broken steel IIRC just a bunch of tedious shooting galleries. Overall I'd rather cut my balls of than ever play anchorage or zeta again so I disagree about the dlc. PL is good and the pitt was fine. Thew only vegas dlc that got old real quck for me was LR
>By splitting up the factions four ways the main questline suffers.
STRONGLY disagree. The factions are what make New Vegas so compelling. Every faction is tied to the main quest and thus doing faction quests feels more rewarding. It's a great marriage between main quest and side quest and makes more of the world feel relevant, rather than just a small linear story path.
but there is not personal connection the courier has to any of it. Unlike finding your missing family member. Zero player agency
>but there is not personal connection the courier has to any of it
Why do you say that? Do you not understand how roleplaying works? It’s up to you to make the connection. Ultimately the stake you have with every faction is up to you.
Why don't you reconnect with your IRL family members instead?
The zoomie mind cannot comprehend the point of a role playing game
if having a family member involved is the only way you can get invested in world changing events then you might be a moron.
Me and friend Sanjeep in village of Trindinibad very much like the Fallout 3 with republic of paul. Haha very good.
Do you guys like the New Vegas DLCS?
I started Honest Hearts and its kinda fricking boring
I love the atmosphere and story of Dead Money, but playing it was kind of miserable because I had put no points into melee/unarmed. But it's definitely great.
Honest Hearts I thought was weak, felt unfinished and rushed, nice environments but thats it. Hated Lonesome Road, again cool environments but I hated the story and the linear levels are boring.
Old World Blues I'm mixed on, I liked it but also felt tedious in spots. Overall its fun, Ganker definitely hates this one the most because of the humor but I didn't mind it.
>I had put no points into melee/unarmed
Oh man I'm gonna fricking hate it then. My current character is all guns/energy weapons
Seems the Bethesda DLCs are always hit or miss by what your saying because I didn't really care for 3 or 4's
But you really should play it though because the story and atmosphere is really strong. The oppressive tone was kind of heightened by how poorly prepared I was for it going in.
I'm gonna give all of them a fair shake but I predict I'm only gonna finish maybe one or two of them unless they get dramatically better
I find myself enjoying just kinda fricking around more than I do following a quest in these games but I guess that's kind of the point
Don't worry about skills so much. There's actually plenty of guns to find if you pay attention (and especially if you've got good lockpicking), and the enemies, while intimidating, are not fast, so you're not going to get locked out of anything by enemies being too strong.
I just played through it for the first time
No spoilers, but basically the issue is that you lose all your guns and can only use what you find in the area. Also, the enemies have a special rule for how they're best killed, which biases melee
It's fine if you explore and find guns, and you'll figure out the best way to kill them using your guns and the melee weapons you scavenge
I did it without any points in melee or unarmed
I think that matches my overall opinion of NV's dlcs as well. I've no idea why people think Honest Hearts is great,
>I've no idea why people think Honest Hearts is great
Randall Clark and Joshua Graham
Partially this, also Zion is great, and the conflict is interesting.
Honest hearts is boring. Literally a walk in the park. All the others are better, especially dead money
Fallout 3 is for the boys
Falllout New Vegas is for the women
THE GREAT BIG DLC RANK
Far Harbor >>>>>
The Pitt > Dead Money > Point Lookout > Broken Steel > Old World Blues > Honest Hearts > Nuka-World > Lonesome Road > Operation: Anchorage > Mothership Zeta
the pitt? more like the shitt lmao
Why do people on this board suck Far Harbor off so much? Like compared to Fallout 4's main story it's not much better
DIMA is a hypocritical homosexual and the game looks at you like you're the bad guy if you do anything against him. Plus with the stupid gimmick sections that use the awful basebuilding I never come back to this one.
Nuka World was much more fun
Far Harbor is shit so is nick I don't get why people like it. The story is fricking boring if you don't nuke it in the name of atom your a gay robot lover.
Based as frick
At least in Nuka World I can larp as a crazy insane raider cultist instead of a toaster apologist
I really wish you could be evil just a out right monster in fallout 4 like you could be in fallout 3 or NV both have way more evil options the fallout 4. Nuka world's problems really are the base game makes being a raider overlord suck I shouldn't have to build the towns I'm taking and I never got ss conquest to fill right but have other peoples towns to take really makes it better.
I like Old World Blues for one very dumb, specific reason. James Urbaniak voices the robot, so it's like I'm talking to Dr. Venture
Dead money mogs both the pitt and far harbour easy. PL is also way better than the pitt which is overrated. HH is better than OWB too. Otherwise I generally agree
>PL is also way better than the pitt
Ofcourse it is
this list is fricking moronic from beginning to end. actually, that's not true, anchorage and zeta deserve to be at the end.
Mothership Zeta is good actually.
3 has a quest where you get good karma for helping a girl daterape a priest into marriage and a quest where you get bad karma for giving a guy nuka cola quantum to give to a girl he wants to marry and protect
No it doesn't kek
yes it does, fallout 3 has more involved and bigger side quests than new vegas's spread out million micro quests
>more involved and bigger side quests
Sure it does
THE CHAD FALLOUT 3 QUESTION: steal the fricking declaration of independence
the new vegas "quest":
figure out who stole the medicine at camp forlorn hope (the only named guard) and then walk back to doctor
The CHAD fallout 3 question: Activate a nuke that chest smacking morons decided to build a settlement around, or let murderous ghouls kill wealthy humans because le capitalism bad
Real grey morality
okay, moron
Is it weird that Fallout helped me with my gender?
why are 3gays so desperate to be liked?
alright, sure, you like it. a LOT of people don't. just enjoy what you enjoy
They're pajeets, there's not much to do in India, this is all they have.
>t. started browsing Ganker in late 2016
NV threads were a staple on Ganker for years and tourists don't like that off topic slide threads and wojak spam threads die because people on Ganker are actually talking about video games for once. Combine that with seething and buck broken Bethesda nut slurpers wanting revenge because people with taste didn't shut up and consume the kind of slop that THEY like and it's been a concentrated effort to kill what they perceived as "board culture" because tourists are the Black folk of Ganker.
They try to masquerade it as being the victims of NVfans shitting on 3 for years but none of them actually talk about the games they claim to love now that no one is going to stop them. It feels less like they like 3 and just hate NV and want to spam shitjaks for hours.
>but none of them actually talk about the games they claim to love
This. I have never once seen FO3gays actually be able to talk about what they like about FO3. It's gone from
>FO3 is better than NV because...
>it just is okay?! Frick NV!
to
>FO3 is better than NV because...
>trannies trannies trannies trannies
>continues to spam the same handful of wojaks until the thread is dead
FO3gays don't actually play their game. They just seethe and derail threads.
The troony shit is just a cope, they tried arguing why 3 was better for years and got nowhere. Eventually they got so desperate that they started going to every troony den on the internet looking for any connection to NV and trannies they could find and then spamming it constantly for years.Almost all of their screenshots are from 2019.
>FO3gays don't actually play their game. They just seethe and derail threads.
yeah, I played fallout 3 after nv (because they took a fricking decade to fix a single bug), and it was a genuinely worse experience.
I used to idolize fallout 3 before I got to play it, I saw gameplay as a kid and i was forever changed, I remember being so excited for fallout 4 despite having never played a single other fallout before.
And then, more than 10 years later, I finally could play Fallout 3
...calling it underwhelming doesn't make it justice.
It was so bland, so repetitive, the gunplay was bad in ways I didn't think possible, I accidentally managed to tumble into my dad and skip like half the game, the companions where just something to take bullets for you, there only black and white decisions.
It wasn't really bad, but saying that it's better than New Vegas is a straight lie.
The only fun I had was dragging Deputy Weld's head across the map so he could greet to Megaton each time I entered my suite at Tenpenny Tower.
That and talking to Three Dogs while drugged (Screenshot).
Both have better side quests than garbage games like Yakuza 0
Those Caesar assassin guys are a b***h to kill.
I wish fallout 3 had more NPC's to find out in the wastes. a lot of them are consolidated into the settlements and specific areas. outside that its really empty of NPC's which may have been what they were going for but it would be nice to at least have some more or some more side quests.
Both mog the shit out of fallout 4 we can all agree on that
the uss constitution quest is already better than anything on new vegas.
I have no idea what that is because the whole game was forgettable trash that disappeared from my mind the minute I finished
3 is fun so far. cant wait to get to new vegas
got both on sale. pretty good times.
