I've played all the fallouts and wanna try 76 while there's some people, since I hear its not shit now, but I play on PS4 atm and only pay for live services every once in a while. When the ER dlc comes out, ill grab live for a bit, would it be worth it to get 76 too?

story is branched
basic story is, before you group of survivors failed to recolonize the area due to plague and in fighting
second branch is guiding two new factions arriving into the area and finding the federal gold reserve
there are smaller story lines with BoS and Enclave
you also have "dungeons" called expeditions with their own story (Pitt and Atlanta)
easily over 100 hours not counting all the side shit
Are maps shared with other players? Like if you play solo will you just randomly bump into another player like in Rust?
Yes, there are up to 24 players on a server. The map is pretty big though so unless you're in a high-traffic area the odds of just bumping into someone at random are fairly low.
76 players are known for being friendly to newbies, and with the recent influx you'll probably have veterans lining up to give you presents.

My only gripe with it is how moronicly short ranges guns have. Even Gauss rifle hits like peashooter outside of ranges where realistically you could use pistol for hunting.

why are fallout and cyberpunk experiencing engoodening just because they got tv shows/anime? halo got a tv show, 2 seasons, and nothing fricking happened and it did not get engoodened
76 has been good for a while, most people just weren't willing to give it another chance
Halo is abandonware, they've given up on it. Fallout 76 spent 6 years adding content prior to the show, same with Cyberpunk. Basically all three games needed a fricking decade to produce, but people were willing to stick around and beta test until actual completion. This is why you should never ever buy games day one.
Also the Fallout and Cyberpunk shows were canon to their games. The Halo series could not be more divorced from the games' canon.
A buddy bought it for me months back and this is like the 3rd or 4th time I've tried it now, but this time I am actually having fun. Used the level boost and it made the whole thing a lot easier to jump into. Worth getting on sale or on play on goypass.

The subscription is only good for the scrap and ammo boxes - infinite capacity stashes, for junk and ammo respectively.
After a while, though, you'll have so much built up you won't have to resub - it auto-renews, btw, so if you do grab fo1st, make sure to cancel the sub after it registers your first one - it won't end it prematurely or anything.
also unlocks stuff on the battle pass, and opens up cosmetics in the atom shop (Yes, you have to pay for the opportunity to buy some things)
You don't have to get the subscription, but they try to strong-arm you into it by giving you a 1200 capacity stash, which can fill up with junk quickly.

I was in a low level area sub level 10 aorund some houses. Then a level 75 Blue Beast werewolf thing or some shit just came and started wrecking the raider that were spawned there. I got some heavy stalker vibes. On the downside i went inside a house and it just couldnt follow me in, so it sorta just stood there while shot at it
