From what I know is it all started with NV launch. There were small banter between fallout3 falloutNV fan but not that big just friendly banter. Then fallout nv, although not nominated withGOTY gathered cult following. Next NV2 was scraped and that wilded up the NV core fans. Still not that much escalation. Skyrim came and solidified bethesdas position in gaming.
time fly and the bannter continues on and on (we are talking years of bannter, bannter his long will sow some ill will) and on to the point were its not funny any more. I know for a fact that fallout3 fans did like fallout NV but the constant banter about fallout3 being objectively trash(which is not with out fallout 3 and creation engine NV would have been never made) and new vegas being sooo good, turning a blind eye to NV’S fault and when in a full moon the nv fans admit there is small fault in NV they always end the sentence with “its still better than fallout3” which is pathetic.
So what is left with these disgruntled NV fans. Obsidian cult died down with that awful flop of ‘outer world’ fan can fix that attitude is non existent after the ‘fallout frontier’ shit show. So they dont have any where to look for its a dead end. Some leave others that stay keep getting more and more dissatisfied and eco this hate in their eco chamber.
The result of this is this shit show you see on the board.

I watched "Fallout 3 is Better Than You Think" and he was right about one thing.
Fallout 3 is really good about not sending you to many locations and relies on player agency to explore.
Though I still prefer New Vegas.
That is every Bethesda game, Start on a cardinal direction, and move either clock wise or counter clock wise clearing the map.
On the one hand it works on the other it leads to the map feeling somewhat flat and too perfectly spaced, though they seemed to improve a fair bit with 4
