Fallout Loremaster

>ITT: discuss the lore of Fallout in all its complexity.

I am a Fallout lore master. The Fallout lore is even soupier than before though. First is a list of the most important questions for the future of the lore.

>What is the status of New Vegas? Is House alive?

>if Vault-Tec are the supreme arch-villains, was the Institute just another faction they would’ve destroyed with nukes?

>How did Moldaver survive to 2296?

>Stephanie (pregnant blonde in V33) was originally from Vault 31 too. Yet this is unexplored, she’s just another exec then?

>does Vault-Tec not care about the Brotherhood of Steel? If not it seems unlikely they’re going to stand a chance against them as they’ve obviously destroyed the Institute “canonically”. Bethesda clearly doesn’t consider the implications of their canon. East coast Brotherhood is apparently the most powerful force in the wasteland.

>The Enclave is still active after the defeat in 2277, but for what purposes? Are they even aligned with Vault-Tec? (If they aren’t then that’s moronic)

The Lore has been shot to shit, but I’ll discuss it anyways. The funniest thing is people trying to pretend like the show didn’t CLEARLY state that Shady Sands was nuked in 2277. It’s lore-destroying (if FNV is lore), yet was clearly explicitly stated to happen in 2277. If Maximus was 6-7 when it happened, it’d make sense he’s about 26-27 in the show by 2296.

The two worst instances of lore-rape, is the exclusion of anything to do with The Master (the cathedral was in LA, and was nuked. Why couldn’t the crater in the show have been that instead of “Shady Sands”). Secondly is zero mention of the “New Plague” especially during Cooper Howard’s flashbacks. FEV was originally made to potentially combat New Plague before being assigned to defense purposes.

Why did Vault Tec drop the nukes?

      Anonymous

      “To make money”
Essentially lol, that and they won’t even become “management” when the BoS can squash threats like The Institute (which is clearly what “canonically” happened). That I assume the BoS also has a near unlimited supply of purified water in DC? Yet they haven’t been nuked?

I’m assuming Vault-Tec nuked Shady Sands, and some other assault on New Vegas (because they want to rape NV’s lore as much as possible for their own purposes). Is The Enclave just another wing of theirs? It wouldn’t make sense if they weren’t. Vault Tec can be the politicians but The Enclave is their military. That won’t be used though lol

I cannot believe reading comprehension is this bad, they literally said it so that only those associated with Vault-Tec and other corporations can rule the world and rise from the ashes of it.

If the mushroom cloud was ON 2277 then you'd be right, its not a hard concept. If this thread is really going to have to talk about the show, then it must be brought up that the master would have had a real good time with the 31-33 vaults especially since it contained PRE-WAR NORMALS WITH ZERO RADIATION. I can't even make a comparison for what kind of a find that would be, and not a hard one since the vault entrance sticks out in the middle of plain sight. Frick this stupid show man.

The arrow is clearly pointing towards the Mushroom Cloud, if it happened on 2277, then it would be right ontop of it. The Fall of Shady Sands likely means that it was a defining event which was the Beginning of the End.

There's a picture of a library book in one of the credit slides and the last borrowed date was 2276. Unless everyone became illiterate between then and the vague nuking it's pretty clear Shady Sands translocated to The Boneyard and got nuked because Dale Cooper got mad his wife took the kids and became a lesbian.

How can you hundreds of so-called "Fallout Loremasters" not understand the meaning of a fricking arrow
I've been playing the games since 2004 and know literally everything about them and aren't clutching my pearls and claiming the "lore is shot to shit", it isn't. YOU JUST DONT LIKE THE NARRATIVE. AND THAT'S FINE. You don't like Bethesda. Stop the fricking gaslighting. Bethesda lore is just a *reach*, it doesn't 'break' anything. It's just implausible, not literally impossible. You all look like the nitpicking schoolmarms you criticize so much. Christ.

        Anonymous

If it happened later why wouldn’t they specify that by giving it a name and date like all of the other events. The nuking of Shady Sands would be a significant event. And why would a city be nuked after its fall, what’s the point in that, even if it’s spite why waste something like a nuke on nuking a city that’s already gone?

      Anonymous

There is something I don't get about nuking Shady Sands. For one, the BoS would be fundamentally opposed to nuking civilians. Like even if Elias dug himself out of the ground and was foaming at the mouth to nuke California I think just about every knight, scribe, and latreen scrubber would hold him back from the button.

Secondly why would Vault Tec nuked Shady Sands? They're survivors from their own Vaults. For a company to nuke probably the only entity on the West Coast prominent enough to trade in its own currency it would behoove them to sell shit to them not kill them. What's the alternative? Figure out currency exchange of brahaman shit to US dollars for the few thousand people still alive in the West Coast?

Lastly, aren't the followers of the apocalypse supposed to have people in places to keep this shit from happening?

And shouldn't it be called Vault City?

        Anonymous

I think the reason he nuked shady sands despite it being a society that came from a vault is because it wasnt under vault-tec control

think about it, vault-tec executives control vaults 32 and 33, they'd want these vaults to make a society on the surface and the vault-tec reps would always have control via the whole "when things are looking glum, vote 31" stuff

Does it even matter that DC apparently has an endless supply of pure water? Clearly the east coast Brotherhood is doing well by it (judging from F4). Bethesda clearly endorses the show as canon, the show clearly endorses F4 as canon (style of Nuka-cola bottles, power armor, even the pip-boys are visually F4 the most. Yet the show doesn’t even address Vault Tec’s thoughts on an enemy like the east coast Brotherhood (who have destroyed the institute). It’s all so half-baked

    So the enclave is back?
If they were NOT involved in the nukes that would make a comidically evil faction somewhat legitimate
It looked like the base was in mountans? Probably the rockies
The enclave has already lost everything, but they're still making superweapons. That would impmy they have the leadership/recourses to justify it unless that was just a remnent operating without literally anyone else

That would actually be a decent twist tbh

The entire city escaped into the sewers.

You heard it here first folks (unless some redditor is made the prediction)

    >Calls himself loremaster
    >Starts off OP post basically just asking a bunch of questions
    >Other people ask questions; the loremaster ignores

Sounds to me like you're trying to leech off of other people's knowledge of the lore, actually. Loremaster is not a title to be donned without care; perhaps come back once you've eqrned it.

A loremaster is the ultimate authority on any one particular loreset. It's NOT a title to be taken lightly.

Loremasters carry a social responsibility to others seeking knowledge. Don't fulfill that responsibility, and you are not worthy to be a loremaster.

fallout doesn't have a definitive lore, it's more like a feeling that comes out of your soul.
