So this is just the same shit that happened to Skyrim SE, where mods (well really the script extender upon which 99% of mods rely upon) don't work out the gate due to the new code being used?

It's cyclical and so very tiring. Play another fricking game for 2 weeks lmao

God damn, I have no regrets using this service.

The update changes nothing beneficial in fact it seems to have removed some character weight because you run way too fast for how many pixels forward you move like one of those floaty indie games

You're a moron or a drone, I was in the middle of playing FO4 for the first time when the update dropped and characters runspeed is moronic looking now, not to mention load times got way fricking worse for some reason. i have the game on a fricking nvme drive and loading out into the wasteland is sometimes taking over 10 seconds

      >delay the update
You can set it to never update. Ignore the "update on launch" cause you can run in offline or use a different way to launch(which is what I do)

Much less specifically fricking Fallout 4.

It's not Steam's fault. Rolling back a game is extremely easy on Steam. It's Bethesda that hasn't made a beta version available.

I get it, but they really ought to retitle that to like, "Versions" even though developers occasionally DO use it for betas, most of the time they use it for having separate Depots to pick from, like Terraria Undeluxe, or 60fps Nuclear Throne.
Like, nobody actually uses it for betas.

It's two clicks on Steam. The beta version can be retroactively added as well. The game will self-update to the beta-version of the game that runs mods once selected.

Is it worth using gog? i have only used steam since i starting pc gaming seriously in 2013.Seems abit tedious to have your games all over the place. But i do like how they give more support for older games.

Honestly, if you aren't specifically Zazzed about GOG giving you installers you can use offline no.
Their service sucks, download speeds are fricking abysmal, their installers are still 32bit only for some fricking reason and also, even though they're dumb enough to give you installers you could use if they ban you, they actually don't believe you own your games and if for any reason they got pissed at you, you'd immediately lose your entire library that you didn't have backed up.
Also iirc there's been a few times where they ripped they've disabled the built in online support for games so you'd have to use Galaxy, but I might be remembering that wrong.

for old games it's fine but baldur's gate 3 takes like 4 hours to update for me since it's 140 gb so apparently gog is doing something stupid

I like how Bethesda keeps pretending that Script Extenders don't exist and nobody is using them even though they're existing since oblivion. My last Bethesda purchase was Fallout 4 in 2015 and I'll keep it that way.

There is a very good change that no one at Bethesda is responsible for this. Software/hardware is complicated and involves a million different intermoving parts made by different people. It's like how if your car stops working you don't know if it's the fault of the car manufactor. It could be the fault of the guy who sold it to you. It could be that part you replaced. It could be the fault of someone who made the part and assured the manufactor it was working.

My most likely guess is that the steam system is less comptable than the gog system with something.

Problem with gog is most corps dont want to work with gog because it offers the game without drm, so the selection is very limited. Corps that make games will always control the market.

      >Corps that make games will always control the market.
This is what Timmy thought too, that publishers will bend the market to their will
Nah, didn't work out that way. Consumers would swap to GoG if consumers cared about more invasive DRM. Things like this: all their shit breaking and GoG being the answer to make it work again, is what drives consumers to it.

Fallout 4 doesn't need mods in the first place. All F4 mods are either bawdwear, some /k/edditors favorite weapon (completely unbalanced in every regard) or making the game look like some troon's meds collection.

Wrong, the game has no nudity yet being an apocalypse with slaves and raiders, obviously it's woke. Modding solves this. Believe it or not but real humans have sex.

The puritans came off the mayflower into the US, so that is the reason you have no nudity in video games. Isn't history weird?

Modern nu-developers are gay morons. They could just release a new version of the game rather than slap a patch a 10 year old installs and mess up everybody's mods. Meanwhile, I can look and see 2 separate versions of Divine Divinity 2 in my library. I also have 2 separate versions of Divinity: Original Sin. Why? Because Larian (who are based) chose to not bother the older installs and just release a new version when they push out an Enhanced Edition. Sadly Bethesda are complete and total dumbasses who are btfo by Larian in every single conceivable way.
