why?hate the system?

I hate the setting 10x more than the system. The System isn't very good either and since it's pretty tightly tied to the setting it means that I consider mostly anything a better substitute.

theres like 5 settings.
Which ones do you hate and why?

It's all basically one setting (Except Greyhawk) and as already mentioned its the most basic b***h kitchen sink imaginable. It's just disgusting and lame. Trying to make anything interesting in a setting like that is pointless and pretending it has anything amounting to lore is sad.
If you are going to DM either make your own setting in a setting agnostic ttrpg or just use a setting you enjoy or has an actual official system like Rouge Trader

what if I just wanna experience the basic fantasy experience before jumping in more complex ones?

I mean, that's basically what DnD is meant to be. It's always been the gateway system and it was even the first one I played as well. But I pretty quickly developed my hate for it and wanted to move on to something I can actually enjoy thoroughly.
However, there are probably plenty of systems that are more simple yet still enjoyable, even ones that are Medieval fantasy themed. A friend of mine has been running an Elder Scrolls game using UESRPG (which uses Dark Heresy as a sort of base) and I've been enjoying that immensely.

why hate though?
I mean, it teaches people the basics and is highly modifiable

not really. And just because it's a gateway system doesn't mean it's good. Especially when a good 80% of the entire Tabletop community plays it and ONLY it, act like it's the only system worth playing, and are too lazy to even try to learn new systems.
Virtue signaling fool. You can't change the past; it is a treasured series. Go make your alt-pop competitor after you learn political leanings through the internet ahahahaha.
Since introducing paid online on consoles all those years ago, Microsoft has not done anything that is nearly as harmful to gaming as Sony normalizing the $70 pricetag in recent years.
Politics take the cake here like imagine being a drafted male dying while realizing there's always a scumbag out there who will dodge the draft to play female in violent games. You just don't want to be that guy.
The one singular entity that has done more damage to the gaming industry than any other was the game Warcraft 1.
>Helped Blizzard become what they are today and all the negative things they've done to the industry >Spawned the MOBA genre of games and as a result RIOT and all the shit they are responsible for >Led to WoW which not only trashed the MMO genre but helped push gaming as a whole into the mainstream market >Blizzard eventually created overwatch which ricochets around causing even more problems

[Spoiler]It's actually just corporate greed. Casuals are the more profitable audience. Injecting politics gets them ESG money and avoids twitter backlash. Making an actually good game = Less profit.
So you are basically admitting that Ganker has zero power?
Never has
AI has done nothing to ruin any video game, the rest of them can stay though (and add Twitch)
when you can't count
I only use Discord for my tabletop group, the rest of these can burn

I hate the system and the community that uses it.
the system's alright
The ugly hate all that is Beautiful.
this dude looks so cool, do the dialogues mock or ruin him ? usually this kind of person is ruined by acting like a dork.
When you first meet him, he's gushing about the beauty of a potted plant.
He's a complete dork.

>gacha and leftists
That's two horsemen.
Gachas are ruining gaming more than anything else. Id kill gachas before anything else given the chance.
just kill mobile gaming in general and a lot of problems would be solved
lots of those idiots are playing these games on PC too though. Just look at how successful Lost Ark used to be, or how many people play Genshin on PC.
Anon, don't use the term people for these things. But I get your point
>4
>lists 7 things
Politics take the cake here like imagine being a drafted male dying while realizing there's always a scumbag out there who will dodge the draft to play female in violent games. You just don't want to be that guy.
You forgot Twitch/Youtube, stupid zoomer.
Also, Sony.
Everything is political, chud
Here I fixed it.
Should add competitve gaming to that list.

The dose makes the poison. What else would be your CoD plot then?
But we can only use "hot" takes here now. Ugh.
