He refused to sell the rights when I asked. I offered quite the sizeable sum. The original intent was to get the rights, then try to publish it to Paizo and DriveThru RPG's stores, just to see what they'd do.
I'd say turning down ~$500 indicates there's still some regret.

Without getting too in detail; after FATAL he started getting into making complex algorithms in programming. He also started selling Baracuda cars online and tuning them up.
After which his business collapsed after a couple of years, he switched to a therapy business involving stoicism - which also failed, and I think one more statistics-based business which failed.
I would have actually driven to his place to confront him in person, but seeing as he has an arrest on his record for a domestic disturbance and his wife leaving him, I wasn't too keen on getting shot by Mr. Fatal himself.

But, as far as I'm aware Byron is retired, he didn't have any recent businesses under his belt (last one ended recently, within the last few years). It's entirely possible he just has a decent amount of money and starts businesses infrequently. But, as of now he's just at his home.

I've looked through the thread, and the info checks out, but...Hall gave some rando permission for FATAL 3e, when he won't give that to Hausler, who co-created the game? I've done a bunch of research on the circumstances around FATAL. I want to believe, but what's the circumstances under which you got FATAL remake permission and the game's literal co-creator didn't? How'd you get 3e permission without getting any other rights? I want to know.
Yeah, I'm looking further and something's strange here. OP, why is this...FATAL? The setting is completely different from the ground up. The basic mechanics are different. Some of that is obviously justifiable in a "FATAL remake", but none of this looks anything like FATAL, except in the most basic "le anal circumference! xD xD xD" sense. What's the point of this? Why create a system and setting from scratch, then name it FATAL and put a bunch of meme shit in it? How did Hall give you permission for that? The FATAL guys legitimately didn't think the bizarre sex shit was the most important part of the system -- that's what was insane about them. They genuinely thought they'd made a game and setting people would be interested in. They were wrong, but that's a different problem. How did you 'get permission' to use the FATAL name on something completely unrelated?

If you aren't basically scraping ideas off /d/ this will never be a true successor to FATAL. The world has come a long way in inventing new perversions and you have to keep it up to date.

There's no way to actually play a game in the original FATAL setting anyway.
Statistically, it's dead and over. Every spell cast has a chance to misfire, every spell misfire has a chance to cast another random spell, and every random-other-spell has a 1-in-10,000 chance to cast the titual FATAL, which ends all life. Over a few centuries, that's going to happen, and it only has to happen once.
I choose to interpret "end all life" that as meaning everything down to cellular things. Viruses may or may not die, but mitochondria do, cells do, bacteria do, and without actual life to prey on, viruses cease to exist as well. Life will have to re-emerge from the simplest fricking soup.
FATAL is a dead setting, and that brings me comfort.
I have played this version and I have to say it is a great game, only one of the games had someone be raped to death.

while you're correcting things, my favourite fricking stupid rule in FATAL is the ejaculation rules on p375. You have rules for determining how many spurts you shoot, how far the first shot goes, and the decrease in distance of each successive spurt.
FATAL isn't just funny because it has rules for rape, FATAL is funny because it has autistically-detailed rules for every aspect of sex, and if you missed that you missed the brief. Anal Circumference is funny, but then you dig into how tightness modifies pleasure and the soreness rules, and you realise it just keeps going. Merely including a table of injuries and saying "apply these if appropriate" has failed the task, because you need the rules to hold your hand every single step of the way for it to trulybe the nine hundred page BEAST that is FATAL.

I did some math and anything 5 categories larger than a human can fit something a foot in diameter inside it’s urethra. Anything 7 categories larger can fit a whole human inside its urethra allowing you to crawl inside up too its bladder and drown yourself. This is important information as it is my very specific fetish. Now I don’t know how large that actually is under your rules because I couldn’t find those, but this is a good sign.
Presumably since the diameter of a small creatures urethra is considerably smaller than a medium creatures, their pee stream will have a higher psi. As to if this will compensate for a lower volume of urine and weaker muscles is up to the writer to determine, but they should definitely have some bonus or penalty to the urinating skill.

Basically. A more central kind of body, and then a whole mass of whirling tentacles (most for moving and gripping, and then some for fun). He could take sort of a humanoid shape underneath a robe or cloak which would cover him up, he could even wear boots and mittens.
He would probably be pretty bad at maintaining human enough shape and movement in the beginning, but gradually he gets a knack for it. He would probably adventure for treasure for the most part, and only occasionally frick e-girls.
