It's over. It's finally over. The end of an era. It took me ten years to do, playing it off and on. I bought the game in 2013, the first thing I ever bought off of Amazon.
The game sucked to be honest. I hated the rock, paper, scissors guessing game, and the setting. The story was mostly boring. There was too much grinding, though to be fair I probably grinded too hard. I absolutely dominated the last two bosses.
The only reason I finished the game was because I loved Tamamo so much. I'm going to miss her.

I liked Extella, but I generally enjoy Musou games so ymmv. It's a pretty interesting take on the genre. I've heard Link is an improvement but I haven't played it.

Extella is good. It’s better at being a musou than Extra is at being an RPG. Though it’s not quite as unique as result.
The setting and soundtrack were Godtier, everything else was mid

The game is actually one of my favorite PSP games despite all of its faults.
The gameplay shines if you do the Rani route, its alot harder and requires more gambles especially on fights like Arcueid. Story and setting is actually great as a self contained project with pretty unique atmosphere on some of the levels becoming kino tier when paired with the soundtrack.
Honestly i wish they ported CCC officially rather than the pointless remake.
I hated the combat so much in CCC that I actually turned it down to easy and looked up a move chart for all the bosses. By the third chapter I was already sick of it.
The story was a lot more interesting than the first one but all that meant is that I should have watched a playthrough.

I hate this game with all my passion. It's literally everything I hate about unnecessary spinoffs, they take the name and appearance of already established setting to sell something completely different. And they use the most easy, cheap and uninteresting ways to implement pointless references. And Nasu pushed this shit for years.
There is good and interesting ideas and characters there but I can't just overcome this feeling of being fooled.

Yeah, like Sakura was such a completely pointless character in this game, but they had nu-Saber and Rin, so I guess they had to shoehorn Sakura in somehow.

I feel for you, OP. My PSP nobly killed itself when I was 70-80% through my first playthrough, saving me from suffering through any more of it.
I only got the game to play as Archer.
It was a shit game through and through.
I intended to go with Archer/Rani on my second play through, but that's not going to happen lmao. I regret not choosing Rani on my first try though, she seemed like a more interesting character like someone else mentioned above.
Rani route is just as boring if not even more boring
