Caster Shikibu is fine, she has a charge, decent debuffs, and decent damage. There's really nothing bad about her except that her kimono outfit makes her breasts flat.
I like Murasaki a lot, if you have support she's okay
She's not that niche at all. Caster of nightless city is 10x more niche. Murasaki is a decent arts looper and has a bunch of support utility with debuff immunity and buff removal resist. She murders anything with demonic trait.
There are units you're kinda unhappy about getting if they're too niche, murasaki isn't one anyone should feel bad about getting though they should at least feel middling about it.
This entire joke barely even made sense to me. Emiya was 17 in 2004 and therefore born in 1986. He wasn't really alive in the Shouwa era either. Why is he acting like it's shocking for prisma bawd to have barely seen something he also had probably seen fairly little of. Although seeing as he has been transformed into milquetoast cooking servant man for pretty much the entirety of fgo I guess the writers just didn't care.
Using her with double castoria. Np2 basicly outdamages Sieg caster and loops better. 30% charge also gives her NP dmg up for 3 turns i think. So definetly a more solid option over Sieg.

Was the dice game you're talking about really that bad?
You had to go around a monopoly style game board and land on certain panels to complete missions there. You had to run missions to get dice, and since you were rolling dice where you landed was random. There were a limited amount of fixed outcome dice you could buy for shop currency but you needed to farm to buy those which means a lot of extra AP wasted.
Worst part? You had to land on every panel 5 times to unlock the challenge quest.
I mean, veterans have tons of apple to burn and each free quest gives at least 2-4 dice of different numbers so it's not like it is that hard to farm
if you didn't need to get everything from the board to unlock the challenge quest it wouldn't have been an issue for most people I think. I'd gladly skip some shitty bronze materials if it meant I didn't need to run the event nodes another 30 times

Gameplay? Ibuki is a solid buster looper made for double Koyanskaya maybe a bit worse than Artoria since she get more buff though but still is good overall. Van Gogh is one of the best bosses killer, she is tanky as hell and extremly powerful. She is even better against certain bosses over Orion like Cernnunus. Vritra is ok but it has to put put against many Lancer AOE that can do her job better.

Good skills, but unfortunately murasama came out relatively close to her and is much better because castoria exists whilst koyan doesn't exist yet for ibuki. And as an aoe buster saber she's always going to have to compete with artoria who has a np rank up and ibuki doesn't, so it's 400% vs 300%.
Gogh is your pinnacle crit monster, weird skills, annoying to make use of, support np, operates similar to orion but more consistent, needs a team designed around her.
Vritra is aoe arts lancer, skills aren't too good but she's capable of looping with a little extra effort, mine on jp can't loop with just double castoria and nothing else, she needs a little extra help

Arts is actually the strongest now because you can shove a Black Grail on most Arts Servants and have them tear through enemies with Double Castro.
Buster isn't quite as good because you can't really give a Buster Servant Black Grail and hope things work out, but there are a handful of Buster Servants who have amazing enough synergy with Double Koyanskaya to make up for it.

Yeah. What makes Arts so strong, aside from the sheer flexibility of Double Castro, is flexibility in regards to CEs. If an Arts Servant can completely recharge their NP to 100% every turn without having to rely on an NP charge CE, that dramatically opens up the possibilities. In events, they can easily use the events Damage Up CE freely, or they can equip a material gain CE instead. In most nodes, just give them a Black Grail and watch them burn everything. That freedom is what makes Arts truly unrivaled.
Yeah until Quick 2.0 comes out to replace Skadi. They slapped an attack buff and crit buff on Skadi's NP to bandage her as though it would actually do something in the meantime lol
No guarantee it'll be better than Arts though, Castoria is completely ridiculous
Skadi system is just too unreliable and requires certain conditions for proper looping.
I have no idea if this year they'll put the quick meta caster savior so the old hag can finally die.
Even if they did, you'd need a tremendously overtuned Quick support to be in the same class as Castro and Vitch. What makes Koyanskaya so powerful isn't even her buster memes, it's the fact that she can decrease skill cooldown by two turns. The reason Saber works so well with her is thanks to that. It's also why there are relatively few Servants who are truly optimized for Double Koyanskaya. In addition to needing your own means of charging your NP, your skills need a cooldown of 6 or less.
In order for a Quick support to work, they'd need the following things: 50% charge (ideally split between two or more skills for added flexibility), targeted NP Gain up and one extra gimmick. The gimmick is important, because otherwise they'll still fall short of Koyanskaya.

FGO supports are just endless power creep and it'll keep being that way until they totally refine the battle system, which they won't do until part 3 at the earliest
A gimmick that would make it easier to deal with nodes with less than 3 enemies would be neat. Right now arts and quick kinda suffer if there's a 1 or 2 enemy node in the middle. Not sure how that would be handled though
Three-turn NP charge. The best way to optimize a non-Arts support is to give them targeted 20% charge. Have two of them together and that's 40% charge per turn. The Servant would only need to be able to recharge 10% each turn on their own, which is easily doable even with just one enemy unless their NP gain is REALLY fricking trash.
That would be a non-powercreep way to do it I suppose. I was thinking what they would do to make a new broken support. Something along the lines of doubling the amount of hits (but not the damage, maybe just a small increase) if the NP doesn't hit 3 targets or something but they'll probably never frick with hits like that.

I’m a bit wary of using BG on np2 Ishtar. I’ve been using Dive to Blue all this time since it includes the 50% charge. Will switching to BG really make up for that charge loss?
You have to order your skills properly, but Spishtar with Black Grail can loop most things so long as there are three enemies each round.

It can for sure, I've been slapping on event ce's for drops on to her and she's still been able to loop just fine. Even musashi has been able to loop just fine doing that except against full berserker nodes, fragment of 2004s 3rd skill will basically guarantee you full charge on any wave you want, when I use it on my ishtar on wave 2 she usually gets 130+ np charge the next turn from it

Np levels rarely matter unless you're going crazy trying to min max shit. Do you really need the 3 turn challenge quest clear where the c**t uses np5 arjuna alter or mhx? Because that and some occasional looping scenarios against high hp waves is the only place it matters. I have an np3 waver (frick my life) np2 space ishtar, np2 squirtoria (gssr dupe boned me) and everyone else is np1. I think I have an np2 napoleon and np2 saber on jp, but it matters so little I rarely ever think about it.
I figured NP2 makes sense just so you can benefit from a sizeable jump in NP Damage + Overcharge bonuses
But anything more than that is probably overkill unless you really like the servant

A short summary:

Feel like there's such a big difference between NP1 & even 2 that I should keep trying to roll for at least 2 copies
But at the same time I hate using all my SQ up trying to do even that
I wouldn't go for NP2 on high rarity servants until you get more supports and options to use for different fights. Most of the time NP1 is serviceable, NP2 is just for using 6 drop craft essences when farming events.
Plus if you have good supports you can use the Gong system for challenge mode quests which is often a free win.

Those are all dumb whales. For 5-stars, nothing above NP1 or, to a lesser extent, NP2, is truly necessary. Also, NP levels have diminishing returns.

Yeah. Of course, NP5 is nice to have, especially on lower rarities. But it's specifically balanced so that no one feels all that strongly compelled to go for NP5 unless they really, really love their waifu.

NP2 is optimal because it unlocks 200% overcharge plus a healthy chunk of damage. NP3 is okay just for the increased damage but there's no real reason to go out of your way to roll for it unless you really like the servant. NP4+ is whale central.
Chen Gong is basically a hack if you have Waver and Castoria, if you have more supports than that then even better but he can make due with some lower rarity ones mixed in. He can kill basically any content in the game for you and he hits really insane numbers because you sacrifice each support with his NP to bring a new one so he can keep getting buffed.

You can do it without the MLB black grail, one of Gong's strengths is that he relies entirely on supports so he's pretty flexible. Really Black Grail and Kaleido are the only CEs worth a damn other than maybe Miyu's to enable some looping. Otherwise the f2p CEs beat out most of the gacha ones.

Pretty soon the next Gudaguda event's going up and a 1-star Servant unique that event will be added into the pool temporarily. He's pretty decent so you should splurge then until you get him up to NP5.
Also, next year, they're adding a new gold Servant to the FP gacha and she's incredible. So I'd conserve FP until then.

Even if you roll your sq, mlb ce's are not exactly common cause the rates are stupid for them and there's so many, and rate up for ce's is shittier than rate up for servants for no real reason. That's why you have to nab the event ce's that they give out cause you can guaranteed ce those without rolling and they'll still be pretty good

Don't bother trying to np2 pretty much anyone anon, all the big damage you see comes from using supports to stack buffs, the np level isn't making an enormous difference.
What are you using to do damage that it feels inadequate? Cause you can adequately just mash red cards on berserkers most of the time.
Her charge skill is a per turn thing, so it's ass for looping by default due to the games design of spending the entire bar even if its at 110 and does nothing. Her 3rd skill is better than people give it credit for, gives her a lot of support utility if you use the right units

Honestly, meta-wise, the Servants in this summer event are kinda bad. Only Kiara's any descent, but she gets kinda mogged hard by Space Ishtar as far as Arts looper Extra class Servants go.
I mean Brynhildr has a solid kit, but I guess her problem is "she isn't Arjuna Alter".
Her gimmick is too gimmicky and her 20-per-turn charge isn't actually good enough to function with Double Koyanskaya.

All Servants who work with Double Koyanskaya are consistent. This is because damage-based NP charge is completely irrelevant with them. They're not gonna get any refund from their NPs, unless it's something like Excalibur.

looking at future banners, muramasa and space ishtar it is then, they look cool. I know frick all about Fate lore but those two are from a VN, right?
Muramasa and Space Ishtar are pseudo servants, AKA, heroic spirits but with a familiar face attached to them so yes and no. Their inherent "characters" are supposed to be who they are presented in-game while their appearances is based off of Shirou and Rin from the original visual novel. Ishtar is on an extra level of meta because she's from the "servantverse" which is mostly a joke.
Most Pseudos are a meld of the host and the Servant in question, so Ishtarin is if you fused Ishtar and Rin instead of Ishtar possessing Rin outright. It's why FGO's Ishtar is an overall decent human being, just with an inclination for causing trouble. Muramasa and Shirou, though, are said to be so similar that Muramasa's basically what would happen if Shirou reached a ripe old age.

The best party in JP right now is Morgan/Castoria/Merlin. It's basically invincible like a stall team but still deals a lot of damage thanks to Morgan.

There's a number of factors. Generally, Servants have higher stats the higher their rarity. A Servant that's below 4-star will rarely have more than 8000 ATK if even that, but on the other hand you'll have a hard time finding a 5-star Servant with less than 10,000 ATK. So it's just an issue of rarity. It's just how the game's balanced. Second, there's not a whole lot of point to raising a Servant's stats unless you go buck-wild. But that'd be weird as far as balancing goes. A Servant's skills and NP effects are generally more important than their stats.
A Servant's innate ability to loop aside from skills has to do with two attributes: the number of hits in their NP and their own innate NP gain values. Servants with extremely low NP gain values or Servants that hit enemies less than three times each will have a hard time getting refund. This is why not all Arts Servants can loop even with Double Castella, yet when he's using Circuit Connection EX, Emiya can potentially fully refund his NP charge even without Castella.

For one turn, yes. It's not ideal, but he works if you have nothing better. Generally, there actually aren't THAT many looping Archers, so even with his wonky kit, he doesn't have too much competition.
Atalanta with Skadi is probably a better AOE Archer, but I'll probably still choose Emiya now since I have him at NP3 and Castoria's kit is much better.
I'm glad he's not garbage anymore. Archer is the only class I don't have an SSR in, so I always use Chloe.
Summer Ilya's the better looper but unless you're getting multiple copies of her, Atalante is probably better. There's a bit of inconsistency with Atalante and how well she can loop can sort of depend on when you use her first skill.
I'd like to get her, but I don't want to roll for four stars. Spent 100 quartz doing that for Lancer Melt and got shit, so I'm not doing it again. Just saving for Space Ishtar at this point.

Just use fragment of 2004 or another mystic code that helps quick/np gain.
You almost always have to use her 1st skill on wave 3 for damage, rarely you get to use it on wave 1 or 2 to get more np. Quick supports looping is more reliant on ce's anyway, rarely can any of them do it without starting charge ce's
Yeah just did a run with him. Could do a 3T if I placed Arash for the first turn. Didn't know the NP type change is only for a turn. I could probably bring Waver as a backup to fill his NP on the final turn. Damn, he's pretty good now huh. Dude used to be frequent in my team back when I just started. But dropped him after I got Tristan, who's pretty useful against a couple of single bosses earlier on. Dropped both of them after Summer Jeanne.
They should buff Summer Abby.
I have 2 questions
1)How does looping actually works? Why does my Summer Jeanne can 3T loop easily with just one Castoria, while summer Musashi needs two. Also, I've noticed, if I kill 2 enemies instead of 3, the charge for the next round drops, does it count each hit from the NP attack?
2) Which buff increases NP damage? Charisma skills (the one that looks like a sword) or card type buff (like Arts/Buster/Quick)
Is Summer Kiara good, I got two of her when I was trying for Summer Brynhildr? Her NP reads like it's annoying to get good damage.
If you have Castoria she's pretty good. Even though she'll almost always hit for neutral damage she can still loop and do respectable damage

She's not awful. In fact she used to have plenty of use cases. Not so much anymore though. Time isn't kind to Buster Servants with no NP charge.
I mean, not much. She's a support unit mostly, decent skills. If you want a dps bunyan you'd have to wait for super bunyan although I'm not entirely sure if she's actually good or not.
In what context are you trying to make her better, slapping a kscope on her she'll generally clear a wave + provide support and then be able to be plugsuited out for example. In a prolonged fight berserkers aren't gonna be good usually, not just bunyan but any of them outside of herc/cu alter with spammable damage avoidance
All of Bunyan's best use cases involve slapping her with a target focus CE and taking advantage of her low health to get her off the field as quick as possible after firing off her buffs.
Super Bunyan isn't great. She has a dumb gimmick but is otherwise kinda vanilla. 30% charge on a 6-turn cooldown is, well. It's a thing alright. Straight up, the best Servant in this event might just be Mary Anning. Too bad her low rarity ties her down hard.
I know, but the dude likes bunyan so if he likes her that much she's a better option than the 1 star at least. 30% charge is fine, 20% append can make up for it, which is why you're seeing a bunch more 30% servants being released or a bunch of the rank ups being adding 30% charges

By the way, as horrendous as Summer Abby's kit is, Koyanskaya kinda salvages her a tiny bit. Kinda. See, the main thing that really helps her is that for one solitary strike, she can actually hit really goddamn hard in spite of her low-ass Attack value. And this is important. The biggest critical weakness of Double-Vitch Buster looping is that you can't use Black Grail, meaning that on average, you're not gonna be hitting as hard as an optimized Arts looper with Double Castro.
Summer Abby has the following attributes:
>50% DEF debuff for 1 target (1 hit)
>20% DEF debuff for all enemies
>30% Buster Resist debuff for 1 target
>50% NP charge (6-turn cooldown)
Summer Abby's principle strength in a Buster-looping scenario is that for a single hit, she can apply a 70% Defense Debuff on one enemy as well as a 30% Buster Resist debuff. Again, it's only good for one hit, but the toughest enemies are usually only at the end and there's not usually more than one high-HP target, at least not most of the time.
That said, it's important to point out that Abby IS a Foreigner, meaning she's doing neutral damage most of the time, so those massive debuffs may only serve to make up for that. But it's sort of something worth keeping in mind if you have any interest in her at all. 50% NP charge with 6-turn cooldown lets her fire this off twice in succession if you use the Atlas Mystic Code as well.
Overall, I don't think this really lets her beat out Summer BB and she definitely can't beat Space Ishtar, but, you know, something to keep in mind.

The way these are split really kinda sucks dick.
Maid alter, castoria, sei and abby banners are the best of the bunch. If I don't get himiko or douman I'll be tempted to go for one of those, otehrwise sei's banner probably looks the best, 0 dupes, scathath and bird saber are really good units, bride and summer jeanne are useful, tamamo is a decent st lancer.
Castorias banner has one of only 2 st dps casters, e-girlvinci, musashi or kama np2 would both be fine, murasaki would be fine.
Maid alters banner has reines and she's hella useful. Maid alter would be okay, np2 mhx would be fine, summer nero would be fine, the rest are all misses.
Abbys banner would be dupe central, would just be praying to hit himiko or yang/melt failing that.
Doumans banner sucks ass, voyager is fricking terrible, np2 moth would be pretty worthless, holmes is niche as frick, amakusa is pretty garbage, np2 dantes would be okay but still mostly a letdown.
The other banners are too dupe heavy or contain simply too many shitty units. Bunnytorias banner has 3 dupes for example, otherwise it would be okay.
