Played Asherons Call for a year in 2000. Was pretty fun PVP on Darktide server. Only MMO I ever played and I realized they're just gigantic time sinks that give nothing back, so I never played another.
filtered. And I highly doubt you started on the literal PvP server. You type like a carebear.
I would have decimated you bro. I was literally probably the best pk of all-time on AC, easily top 5. You were never about that life. Go re-sub to wow, bro
>bet rico $100 and then take his money and go on a date with the femautist
It was so easy Nepoleon, instead you almost got cucked by a Hispanic in a wig and all you got was to play tetherball
pretty similar deal here. played ragnarok online obsessively over the course of 2004-2005, dropped it, and never touched another MMO. no regrets, i really feel like MMOs are one of those vidya genres best experienced at a younger age, like JRPGs.
>Favorite retro MMOs
City of Heroes Played it on and off when it was Live and now I play on a private server. It's nice, although the community on Homecoming can be dripping c**ts that get butthurt over anything right of Marx and Misc Pot. Doing 5th Column and Council missions with pubs has a lot of unsolicited "BASH THE FASH!" "KILL TRUMP VOTERS!" and other inane comments. I just wanna stop/commit crime for fricks sake.
meanwhile star trek online is where all the conservative players went. which is ironic when you consider that the world of star trek is effectively the liberal/socialist utopia that most lefties dream about.
Started with Ultima Online, pre T2A was my favourite time. Traded my account for an EQ account, didn't really like it though.
I sunk a TON of time into EQ2 however. Quit just after the sky zones were introduced and after the guild I was in collapsed. Really had fun times in that game before then. I'll never forget taking down those unique dragons and being one of the few that had the unique title for doing it on my server. I used to play as a gimped shadowknight that couldn't hold agro too.
The game lost its soul by 2009. I was part of the 2005scape beta before anyone realized it was a scam and the owner ran off with our donation money, but the few days it was up felt way more real than what osrs turned out to be lol.
Not even a point naming them, 99% of the MUDs out there had maybe 10-20 regular users and only lasted a year or two. They were more like chatrooms but with some gameplay. One I used to play a lot was called Gray Areas and there wasn't even a trace of it on google last I checked.
i used to play way too many hours of a really shit game called Knight Online, and messed around in some private servers last year. vaguely fun, ultimately a hollow experience without friends.
Looks awful, and not retro. The only thing that vaguely draws me back to ko, like many things on this board, is nostalgia, it's otherwise an atrociously designed game, with maybe half the features either missing or broken, and bugs you just got used to. Horrible in retrospect but fun with friends at the time.
>Horrible in retrospect but fun with friends at the time.
It's honestly kind of interesting what sort of garbage games can be fun when played in the right company. With a lot of these old MMORPGs just being MMO made them amazing because it blew our minds back then.
I guess it's similar to how we all felt when we had few games to play, we'd spend time trying to complete the bad games even if they were bad partially because we had nothing else to play.
I remember all the cybering I did on that. Good times.
it's nice to have your own house, set it up as a Skill house or a Money making house, and then have lots of people over
takes a bit of money to build it up tho

well the appeal is that the game never ends, whereas in single player games, there is an ending.
See, that's where you're wrong, with MMO's, they will all eventually end and all of your time gone with it.

maximum cringe
NTA but do you at least see the correlation between you being a shithead and the game shutting down? or at the very least i hope you do.
You're like the creepy uncle who keeps talking about that one touchdown he made while on his high school football team. homosexual.

Do people still play this? I might install it if so.
Yes there's like 70 to 100 people online at any time
I heard there's a lot of middle-aged women in-game, is it true and if so can I get to seduce MILFs?
The Realm was my first
then UO, EQ, tried and liked EQOA and FFXI. oh and PSO Xbox was p cool
I also play FFXI on the private server Valhalla, it has TRUSTs so it's very nice
>trusts
ew
Neocron is the only one for me because it has FPS controls and you need skill to aim
>nice community
>a literal virtual retirement home
Whatever floats your boat, anon.

Tell me more, I've heard a lot about City of Heroes

2009scape, lost version from between the2007 osrs backup branch off and the mainline version that became.... unwantable

MUDs in the mid 90s were comfy. A shame that all the remaining ones have been co-opted by furries.
Pls give me some examples, I'd like to google

Nice graphic style, have you heard of Forsaken World?
