Cyclops, Storm, Colossus, Wolverine, just a proper X Men team

Switch Colossus for Gambit and that's my current team

One of my few complaints about the game is the lack of evil female mutants. Scarlet Witch is all you get, and I don't like her so I can't get a Brotherhood team that I really like

    Does Wolverine's HP refill automatically?

Yes, but it's a passive you have to put points into

These games and the Ultimate Alliance ones were always pretty fun, but the main campaign was always so short that it felt like the gear and skill tree systems were kind of pointless.

I never found XML2 to be short.

Hard Mode also starts you at level 45 and gives you the appropriate amount of points to distribute, which makes it a lot easier to try out builds and skills you wouldn't otherwise put your one point per level into

Man these games and the Ultimate Alliance games were so dope. Well, Ultimate Alliance 3 I haven't played because I can't bring myself to care about Thanos as a main villain at this point. Already read all the Infinity sagas, the arc with the HotU, and a few other arcs, and watched the movies...
Anyways, it really sucks none of them seem to be on Steam...

Activision lost the X-Men license during the time when Marvel was trying to torpedo the entire franchise over their butthurt about the movie rights. All the games were delisted.

I imagined it was because of the movie rights. I remember feeling pretty bummed around the time the Logan movie came out because they had recently just "killed" 616 Wolverine in the comics, then they were killing him off in the movies and I was like "frick, what did the X-Men do to deserve this?" because, let's be real, he's the most iconic X-Men. Even though I like other characters a bit better, if you kill off most people's favorite, you're essentially killing the franchise. Anyway, turns out he came back to life in like 2018.

Pirate that shit on PC, there is still a pretty active modding community for all the games at marvelmods.com

MUA was dumbed down from the X-Men games. XML2 is probably the best Diablo-like I've played

        >XML2 is probably the best Diablo-like I've played
please tell me there is an online co-op mod somewhere.

          >please tell me there is an online co-op mod somewhere
There is, check Marvelmods forums. There is also a new full patch for the game being worked on that should be finished in a couple of months, the "Ultimate Patch". I'm pretty sure they will support some online co-op functionality too.

Isn't it also more of a Musou than an UA game? I know MUA was a step down in RPG mechanics from XML2, then MUA2 was a step down even from that.

Yeah I dont consider MUA RPGs, more action games with RPG elements, while 3 is like even less RPG elements just a straight up beat em up.

More of an RPG than 90% of anything posted on this board, and better quality at that. Shame it's so overlooked these days.

This shit has some of the worst balancing I've ever seen, even compared to the first game where it was trivial to make a team literally immune to damage.
