There is a recurring theme between Byleth and Dimitri that was clearly thought for a female Byleth. In general if you play as Femleth it's clearly a love story if they marry.

None of the "love interests" are any good so it doesn't matter, just pick the hot chick so you have something nice to look at during the castle interludes and marry your ghost mom at the end.
