The leveling system is actually what Miro used for the games hunger mechanic, he renamed the EXP bar to hunger and made it so when you 'level up' you die of starvation. That's why in F&H1 the bar ticks up to 100 instead of down, when you reach 100 you 'level up' which triggers the starvation death state. In F&H2 it works mostly the same as far as I can tell, but Miro figured out how to make the hunger bar count down from 100% this time too instead of counting up.
They really are, you should see how much of a nightmare if was to get some of the coding working for the mechanics in F&H. Miro is very ambitious and is really pushing the engine to do some stuff it really wasn't made for, and that's something I really respect about him

RPGMaker is somehow one of the most soulful engine a person can use to make games, especially with how much tard-wrangling and homebrewing you need to do with plugins and workarounds to implement mechanics no layman mind would think to put into an engine designed to make simple roleplaying games.
>have a variable that represents an actor's hunger >change it as that actor's hunger increases or decreases
do these morons just not think of the most basic shit?
I guess I shouldn't ask that when this is the spaghetti slop the dev threw together to implement a dash function.

You're underestimating just how much of a nightmare RPGM is to work with when making a game like this, I won't act like Miro's code is perfect but lot of it has to be that way since the engine is lacking a lot of features others have for things like that.

I refuse to believe that anything in this world is so broken and backwards that it requires 13 nested if statements to check if 1 thing is allowed to happen.

As far as I know RPGM does, this isn't like yanderedev not understanding how to code and using a bunch of if else statements which bloat everything out. In RPGM you literally have no other choice, you have to code it that way.

Anon, do you want to know why you're booted out of the pause menu every time you use a potion? Because it's literally impossible to add an item (the empty glass vial specifically) to your inventory after using an item without doing so. I've fricking opened up F&H2 to try to mod that functionality in and it just can't be done. The best you can do is have the game open up the pause menu again after adding the item, but even that'll lead to fricky results. RPGMaker is hellish in a way that can only be understood if you actually get your hands on it.

Damn, Miro probably made some money off these games he should hire someone to make a proper engine for the next game, I mean we are talking about a 2D JRPGesque game here it shouldn't be too expensive.

Miro actually talked on his discord about the possibility of switching engines but he said it would only make the game take longer to make since he only really knew how to make games for RPGM, he's spent so much time learning how to code for it and how to push as much out of the engine as possible that he thinks sticking to RPGM for F&H3 would be the best choice.
miro had some ”shit happen” to his disk and months of development was apparently lost. In addition to this the last update was in january so its probably spiraling down the wegger patreon path.
Where do I find the “ascended” versions of the FH1 cast? Ive beaten the game a few times but never ran into them.
The wikis dont mention it either they just give enemy stats
Levi's a reserved boy so it's to be expected he'll have the least amount of interesting content.
He can gun good though, which is handy. Can just play him as an Outlander Bow run if you wanted to.
I've been on Ganker for a decade but I've seen CP posted maybe once or twice. Meanwhile I've visit /jp/ a few times a year and came across CP like 3 times
>games keeps hammering the "this is a battle royale, DO NOT trust others" >only Caligula and Henryk (in day 3) kill others >everybody else works as a big team
This is one big thing I dislike about Termina. In the original F&H you're force to team up because each of the four is one of the few "normal" people in the dungeons and yet everybody but D'arce do not tag along right away >Cahara steals from you >Enki joins you because he sees you as a way to Mahabre's Library >Ragnvaldr thinks you're weak >you need to do alot of obscure hoops to get Nas'hrah to join you
Makes sense, but Termina doesnt
Miro came up with the battle royale gimmick first and the characters second, then started writing the story and felt like it didn't make sense for most of the characters to start killing others. He really needs to plan things out better. >only Caligula and Henryk (in day 3) kill others
You're wrong, but I don't blame you for not knowing because the conditions for getting file related are pretty specific and it only happens on Day 3 Night which is something you're going to avoid 99% of the time because it just makes the game significantly harder. Also Miro said that he meant to delete this scene because he felt like it goes against August's character
My friend shilled it to me relentlessly until I caved in. Fun times. Levi may blow ass but oneshotting death masks and elite Bremen troopers never gets old.

I agree, I wish there were more scenes like the one between Karin and August, the paranoia from the festival almost being over and Karin's personality making her find August suspicious boiling over into a confrontation between them is one of my favourite moments in the game. I hope with updates Miro adds more scenes like that where you have to make a choice that effects who dies or not, as of right now there are only really two I can think of, with the other being the Pav against Marcoh + Tanaka one.
I wish there were more examples of character going kind of insane without them becoming moonscorched, the only other example I can think of is if you save Levi from Caligura he has kind of a breakdown and if you pick the wrong options when you find him in the orphanage he fights you. I think it would be good to have it so this could happen to other characters too, stuff like Daan finding out about stitches if you don't deal with her before a specific point, causing him to go full sulpher cultist and team up with her to make more abominations.
Though the biggest problem with doing this would be that contestant fights are way too easy, Miro should really buff them. There is a mod which improves them a lot and actually makes them use their unique abilities in combat, caligura can actually intimidate you and throw pipe bombs instead of being limited to only a shitty 7 damage metal pipe. Miro should really follow in this mods footsteps and redesign the contestant fights, even if only on Terror & Starvation mode whenever that comes out.
>Though the biggest problem with doing this would be that contestant fights are way too easy
The funny thing about this is that it means the "secret" ending is actually easier than the regular murder ending since killing everyone earlier means less moonscorched fights

Indeed, my second run of that game was as O'saa so I could get both his B ending and ending C. By the end of day 1 half of the contestants (and needles too) were dead and it only took me until day 2 noon to get the rest. I purposefully left Levi alive so I could avoid fighting caligura's moonscorched form and instead kill him whe attacks Levi. I did the same for Marcoh so I could kill Pav with him.
I kinda like that about Termina tbh. It makes the characters feel more grounded when they're all trying to get out of a shitty situation together, and only resort to becoming amoral and schizophrenic when they're backed into a corner by lack of supplies, loss of mental stability and the looming threat of moonscorching.
Even some of the hardasses like Karin, Pav and August have their kinder and humanising moments.
>Osaa plays a prank on you in the confessional >after that he parks himself in the middle of a road and tells you to not approach him because he doesn't trust you >getting closer results in a hurting cast and a battle
getting mixed signals there
He didn't hand pick them, they were just on a train passing through the area. Plus Rher isn't actually there, the gods left a long time ago. What's are just his traces, an empty husk which still carries some of his power and influence. His cultists just follow this husk and when it starts to mess with an area they declare it to be the festival of termina, when really Rher isn't even really there. The sulpher cultists are just using his left over traces for their own goals.
Oh I knew what happened to him. I just presumed those people being on that train were a part of whatever tsneech plan he'd set in motion 10000 years ago. I didn't realize it was completely out of his "hands" at that point.
The truth is we don't really know muc about Rher's intentions, he's said to be a mysterious trickster god but we only have little bits of information about him. We know he sent pocketcat and the lady of the moon to try to stop the girl from ascending in F&H1, he also apparently hates the new gods and doesn't believe humanity should even come close to the power of a god. What is clear is how Per'kele talks about the festival at the end of the game, he makes it pretty clear that him and the sulpher cultists were the true masterminds behind it.
>East of the church for the first time, playing as Olivia >Hear gunshots, think it might be Levi or Karin, rush down the stairs to help >Tumble down the stairs all the way down, see some fully armored Bremen dude killing locals >ohfrickohfrickgetmeouttahere >Start crawling up the stairs >Die
Favorite moment of the game. Olivia is the most "fun" character
Termina's a mixed bag, it has a lot of good points to it but a lot of parts of it are just way worse than 1. The cast is larger and mostly interesting, you have way more character events, the party talk is a great addition, the city is a cool setting, and so on.
But the story is meandering and doesn't make sense in places, the characters don't really work with the battle royale setting, the references to other works are more blatant and frequent, it's way more linear because you're forced to get the 3 idols and fight the furgay Youtuber reference no matter what ending you want, and some other stuff I don't remember.
Considering what Miro's said about F&H2 I feel like F&H3 will be a series of trade offs too. I'll still get it because no one else is making stuff like this, but considering that he said it'll take place in modern times I feel like it'll have some really obnoxious dialogue and events.
There is no confirmation on when F&H3 will take place, in fact Miro said he still isn't sure what the exact time period will be aside from saying it probably wouldn't be in space or anything like that. Personally I would like it to be set in 90s, but what Miro decides to go with is still unknown even to him
I mean, he said that he initially meant for F&H2 to take place during a modern setting which is why he made pic related but decided that that was too much of a jump from 1 and did a WW2 game instead. I assumed that he would go back to the modern setting idea with F&H3
It's ww2 but it's an alternate history, the game takes place in 1942 after the end of the second great war, so in this universe ww2 ended a few years earlier
maybe we will one day, Miro also said F&H3 probably wouldn't be the end of the series but more so the end of a thematic trilogy. Though I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to take a break from the series for a while after 3, after working on it for so long it makes sense he'd probably want to do something new by then
>Taking the sex and gore out
If you're referring to the censorship mod for F&H1 then you're just braindead, that is a fan made mod so people can easily stream the game and post videos without needing to manually censor things. It's completely fan made and Miro had nothing to do with it.
If you're referring to Termina, you clearly haven't played the game.
>If you're referring to Termina, you clearly haven't played the game.
I mean, people aren't wrong about the sex stuff when they say that. There isn't rape unless you count getting fisted by the genie or deepthroated by the parasite, and you can't frick party members or participate in orgies anymore. But out of everything to complain about I've always thought that that was one of the stupidest things because there's still plenty of sexual horror, you've got monsters with fricked up exposed dicks and all that. There are still plenty of ways to horrifically scar your character and have them gruesomely die, Miro doesn't need to constantly be one upping himself or forcing in rape scenes if he doesn't feel like it
I agree, fear and hunger termina needs at least 30% more gruesome rape n more death scenes. Where is the mod for that?? Instead of censoring fricking shit people should focus on what really matters. Rape and violence.
Does youtube or twitch even enforce that? I mean, ive seen several uncensored videos from fear and hunger on those platforms, and the rape is always fricking fast and barely there. Are these fricking israelites just paranoid? I fricking hate this world.
Anyone knows why there's so much threads of FaH back in 7 months ago, and why no one make "Major" threads since then?
It has something to do with the game lauch?
Wait, samarie will be playable?
Miro plans to make everyone playable eventually, but I think he's doing Tanaka first.
Tanaka will probably be an in-between of masochism mode and normal mode I think. Wonder what his gimmick will be.
Starts off with no skills, but has an increased learning rate in the Hexen. Basically a Donnel. Also, Stitches actively hunts you down.
He re-enables the RPG Maker leveling system
The leveling system is actually what Miro used for the games hunger mechanic, he renamed the EXP bar to hunger and made it so when you 'level up' you die of starvation. Taking the sex and gore out of F&H is a mistake. At this point the creator is just chasing streamer shekels.
