Not just uninstalling. The anti-cheat is extremely harmful to CPU's. It has a tendency to burn them out. And a tendency to delete core Windows system files at random forcing a fresh install because it's idiotic and thinks they are hack attempts. Nprotect GameGuard is full on malware and pretty much everyone playing this on PC and allowing it is going to have to replace or do serious repairs on theirs in the near future because of it. It's no joke and it's not rare bad luck.
They implemented the shitties kernel level anti-cheat software in existence which runs day and night on your machine once installed, even in sleep mode (not joking) and the only way for complete removal is through a powershell script + reg edits. Add 2 and 2 together and you'll see why that could cause serious problems.

Once Quickplay is fixed, this is going to be a must play for PS5 owners. PC users need some hesitancy due to anti-cheat software, but the game is astoundingly fun with a metric frickload of cool shit to unlock naturally. And as of right now, absolutely zero P2W elements to the game; all store items are reskins of things you can already unlock through the free Warbond pack. Eventually they will have to provide something new to keep the game fresh, but I do hope they put a focus on new enemies and mission types for future updates.

It's pretty much just a console horde shooter. It's not really complex and it feels like a port, although relatively well done. Graphics are dated and there's little mission and enemy variety at this moment. It doesn't even come close to EDF in that regard.
First game was a unique twinstick shooter and you feel the difference in passion and direction compared to it. You can prohably enjoy this game for a bit, after roughly 5h you have seen everything it has to offer. If you're not a diehard fan of the genre it will become very stale quickly.

I have 300 hours in Vermintide. I love that game, but it's incredibly buggy and clunky compared to Helldivers 2. Don't get me started on Darktide that game was such a let down
I have hundreds of hours in both dorkshite and vt2, and just after about 6 hours of Helldivers yesterday I can genuinely say vt2 is the most polished of the 3 games currently. Obviously Helldivers has the most room for growth here but it’s far buggier than vt2 and it’s not even close

I hate this about EDF ngl, especially since I bought one of these and they only add one cosmetic alteration of a basegame vehicle or weapon that you can't upgrade. So after about 10 minutes of playtime, your DLC stuff becomes absolutely worthless as your progress past mission 5 on easy.
The only EDF DLCs worth buying are the character packs for the minecraft-looking one since those come with actual abilities and are viable at endgame. Normally EDF DLCs are outclassed 10% of the way into the game.

In my game group one guy BSOD after the first mission we played (no AMD hardware), I BSOD'd after the second (AMD CPU), our third has about 10 hours now with only one crash (AMD CPU), and our fourth can't boot it at all (no AMD hardware).

It doesn't come even remotely close to Deep Rock Galactic. DRG remains the #1 co-op of all time because it gives the team full control over the map, you can shape the terrain in any way you want, build fortications, each dwarf has a role and specialist tools... it just feels perfect. Basically anyone who has ever played DRG will be underwhelmed by HD2.
Technically you can terraform because the environment and buildings are destructible and orbital strikes leave large impact craters that deform the ground.

(We had to play BORDERLANDS 3 for God's sake) 1 is great but no crossplay rules it out, unless I was to get back on my PS4 but I'm not going to pay for playstation plus again if I can help it.

I do think that the original's camera made sense in the context of the game being about teamwork or at least minimising harm to team mates (while making it easy as frick to harm them). It's by the magicka guys, isn't it? The top down camera made spotting stuff far away harder so made stealth more challenging, removing the vertical axis meant more opportunities to accidentally blow the back of your team mate's head open with friendly fire, the shared camera meant you couldn't just go off on your own etc.

Helldivers 2 is a well-made third person shooter with EDF elements and removal of 2 advanced class from said game but Helldivers 1's camera is absolutely pivotal to its identity and gameplay.

Managed to somehow waste two of my teammates with the precision strike on the first mission I did, though maybe it was simple moronation on my part. Think one of them also shot up a friendly turret while spraying with their MMG.
It's literally 1 but third person with a budget, people saying it's a downgrade from 1 don't know what they're talking about and even then 2 is immensely good and fun on its own. The only issue I have was the Match making issues day one, and I guess the DRM but that's like a small thing in comparison for what the game offers. It is still a grind like the first one but thankfully there's no FOMO, and everything can be earned by just playing the game and there's no more faction lock ups like in 1 which is fricking great.

It does NOT uninstall when you uninstall the game. You need other third party professional software to fully remove it. It's called a rootkit for a reason, it roots itself super hard into the core of your OS software and has superceding access over it. Attempting to brute force delete the little trojan-esque rootkit files it leaves behind (if you can even find them all) after the "uninstall" process, bricks your machine. And just trying to uninstall this game has already been bricking people's PC's because they probably never tested it. It has a tendency to delete core Windows files along with itself if you try to remove it with its own alleged uninstaller. These are very real issues that this software has always had. It's genuinely bad, people are not upset over it for no reason.

Yeah, it seems like a deliberate attempt by the devs to gaslight people about the anti-cheat. It will never actually work on the Deck until they remove it. Just getting the game to launch for a few minutes is the best that Linux testers can manage.

It doesn't work on the Deck. Linux isn't compatible with the shitty anti-cheat they used. Some people have managed workarounds with specific versions of Proton GE to get it to run, but it's extremely unstable and barely works. Mostly it just crashes and runs at like 15 fps. It most likely won't ever be decently playable unless the devs remove this anti-cheat.

Shit actually dies when you hit them, but the effective range is an issue. Theyve got range, but when you are fighting something like the bile titan or heavies who charge around and make distance it can be a problem.

The game is already designed that you will 100% be fricked if you aren't with your squad, a single hunter will basically frick you up instantly if you are caught alone. You don't need arbitrary limitations when you can just design the game better around teamwork

How is tihs an argument in any way when we're talking about strict restrictions that made original game what it is? Sometimes running away just a little bit would make a world of a difference, yet you couldn't do it in Helldivers, you had to stick with your teammates till the very end, you had to coordinate your every single step with your teammates, you had to consider every single shot and especially every single drop to not kill your teammates.
Now you can just run 10 meters away and safely drop the resupply somewhere safe. You can just run in opposite directions if things went south and half the team is dead hoping at least one of you will survive and successfully re-summon everyone from the dead. You can just walk away to use some heavy artillery and you don't have to worry about your teammates at all. What I'm saying it killed a huge part of co-op aspect.

Yeah it already exists in the game, its called getting swarmed by bugs and getting killed because you wandered away from your fireteam.

No. because they will just keep spawning on your teammates. And most objectives aggro a swarm to the objective when you begin whatever sequence it has. There isn't a set number of enemies to kite away.

Anyone else find heavily armored enemies are unkillable with a standard kit? The bile titan seems impossible to kill without recoiless rifle. And the charging bug seems also impossible to kill solo.
What does the white X and the red X mean when shooting? When holding R and seeing the range popup for assault, wtf is that range for?
Does the engineer suit have less armor than the starter armor?
Is it even possible to lose bug aggro? There are stealth mechanics in this but I don't think bugs ever lose aggro.

I think it's the laser or the scope? I don't know if it affects 3rd person aiming to make your guy aim better. Sometimes I feel ADS is more accurate than 3rd person aiming. It's really odd and I can't pinpoint what all of this is doing.

I'm not sure about this. When I shoot the small bugs it's a red X and they die right away, but when I shoot the giant round bug that spits acid it shows a red X if I shoot it's round butt and the bullets barely kill it. Yet when I shoot it in its head it's a white X and it dies super quick. It's super unintuitive.

There's a medium armor suit that doesn't have the "padding" trait where it gives extra grenades. And then the starter armor has the "padding" trait. Yet when I look at the armor rating of both of these medium armors it shows as 100. It doesn't make sense to me.
Things get much more fun at higher difficulties. Instead of chinks running around shooting everything, you get other players who want to crawl around in the dirt avoiding patrols
