Terra type is set pre-game so you can't just "neutralise" your oponent's terra if your doesn't happen to be effective.
If anything, they should balance it out by allowing people to use all the four gimmicks at the same time, megas, dynamax, tera and Z moves.

Terra compleatly rapes the basic mechanic of type matchups. 4x weaknesses don't exust anymore and coverage has to be basically random, because you can only guess what type your oponent's pokemon will be.
And it gives extra demage boost on top of that defensive cludterfrick.

I admit I was one of the people who didn't like Gen 8 when it came out, but after seeing what a mess Gen 9 is, I unironically "apologize" for that. Gen 8 isn't perfect, but it feels like they at least tried to do more with it than "hey, let's make an open world game and don't do anything more than the bare minimum" and they failed even on that.
Now I kind of see Gen 8 in a better light because we have something much worse to compare it to. The Gen 8 is when Game Freak doesn't have the time or budget to do something bigger.

After playing Crysis 3 and Doom Eternal on the Switch I'm not sure how can they make these games so fricking ugly, it legitimately looks like you could port them to the 3DS by just lowering the resolution.

While I don’t necessarily disagree that there was SOME communication happening, I’d say that SV implimenting some features of PLA was more due in part to SV coming out 10 months later. “Cut” PLA features were probably due to them being unable/unwilling to change SV’s core gameplay too much after seeing the feedback to PLA within the time the had left.
I just hope they don't ditch PLA's quality of life going forward.

100% pokedex is genuinely impossible unless you have a friend with the other version to trade with (or you have two gbas and are willing to go through the same game twice). It's not worth it.

i liked gen 7 when it came out, but it was genuinely unplayable when i went back to it because of the long ass tutorial dialogues that tell you every detail of where you're supposed to go on the straight lines that make up the maps. (bw was the first game with this kind of design, though bw2 is the best pokemon game.) Gen 8 was gen 7 but worse in every way, and gen 9 could have been cool if it wasn't horrifically undercooked.
