Same. It's the one if you go straight ahead at the first set of standing stones, and I think the Lady stone is on a bigger island a bit further down the river.

What's that? Also I still like to play the game at acceptable framerates so happy little trees it is.

Uber trees is all 3D, no 2d billboards in the distance. It's great in VR. I have a 7800X3D + 4090 build so it's worth it to go hard at the graphics mods.
Skyrim had a surprising amount of soul for a bethesdashit game. I still remember the first time I went on the mountain. I played it again and I got the same feefees. It's a good game if you use mods to balance magic: make regen better and things like that, make magic damage scale, etc.
Its the little enviromental things. Water and smoke moving in an aesthetic way, bugs and animals running around. Even some wildlife enemies felt very fitting to the game world, especially compared to previous entries
yes
I loved the snowstorm on the top of the mountain as you climb it for the first time
I don't even think you had to fight anything or anyone and the journey doesn't even take that long but it's still very atmospheric
so many obliviongays arent even elder scrolls fans.
one of my favorite things about this game is how they're like "frick it you can see everything" as opposed to later open world games like botw and skyrim where they fog everything up.
fake elder scrolls fan has never touched morrowind in his life. also oblivion's draw distance was tiny

That's why I won't buy anything from Bethesda again or bother trying to play Elder Scrolls. Ever since Bethesda's attempt with paid mods on Steam blew up, I almost believe they're secretly sponsoring Nexus and supporting the new subscription scheme.

This summer I'm decided to autistically research mods, create a decent documentation and also an automatic installer (or simply compress everything).

>Picking skills you want to actually use is bad for you
I didn't know any better when I first played it but I can't go back to it knowing how you have to play to minimax. Garbage game design.
I dont think you've ever played oblivion. The leveling is moronic > oh alchemy sounds fun I'm going to major in that > oh cool I leveled up > oh +3 to intelligence and nothing else for 20 levels
Although it is still correct to major in it, just to not do it until you leveled other shit
Or you could stop increasing the class skill since it doesn't do anything but give some almost worthless attributes?
You know all your 100 something skills still gain xp and level-up without class increase
Just install the mod that lets you +10 any stat on level up no matter what you actually trained and the scaling is a non-issue so long as you don't then build your character like an idiot anyway.
I remember oblivion being an Xbox launch title, playing it after kameo elements of power, and getti'g scared of the zombies and goblins in the tutorial area.
The male Redguard actor has a couple more strange line deliveries like this that really catch you off guard, more specifically the "Spriggans, nature's guardians my foot" line and the Imperial City book seller's sudden high pitched "hee hee" when you ask him about Seridur.
I reinstalled Oblivion this year and my god is it even worse than I remembered. So ugly, such bad gameplay, so few voice actors. Mods couldn't even save it sadly.
this game was the first game that really wowed me with graphics and immersion
and i will always love it for that
when i was young and poor oblivion and fallout 3 was dream games that i couldn't play for a long time
they did not disappoint
Like maybe one hour, if you read everything it tells you how to do every last thing in detail. Just remember to use "mod manager download" and not manual, or you won't get the BAIN installer prompts that he talks about.
You can stop time by opening your inventory at any time and drink as many healing potions as you want. Oblivion is never even a little bit hard. That the extremely easy fights take increasingly longer to win as you level up is a legitimate complaint.
Soul is used by any fanbase that has nothing else. The older a game gets the more the soul non argument is needed.
Oblivion is closing in on 20 and the nostalgiagays are getting ready.
>Soul is used by any fanbase that has nothing else
Yep. That's my point.
You don't see Half-Life or Bioshock or Starcraft fans talk about "soul". These are legitimately good games whose influence can be explained on merit.
But then you see the motherfricking Oblivion or GTA VC/SA fans wheel out "soul" whenever they talk about it, and it's clear that's the only thing they have. They'll go into deeply pedantic flamewars to defend the honor of their childhood games, of course, but all their "arguments" are really just superficial statistics or vague "vibes".
Best part of Oblivion was the forests for me, first time I ever felt actually lost in realistic forest. Specifically the forest containing the inn of ill omen for the DB quest. You follow the road deep into the forest, as the inn comes into view you see an imperial legion forester practicing archery outside. It was just magical man.
There needs to be more of this on a larger scale. BOTW/TOTK and TW3 didn't cut it, the forests are too small. Only other games where I feel like I can get lost in a dense forest is DayZ and (Sons of) The Forest, but neither are fantasy games.
I think my favorite part besides shivering isles was >Fricking around outside the imperial city >Found a necromancer in a cave >Found another one >Found notes indicating there's a fricking necromancer ring around the city >You can even find the leader and join him to get black soul crystals, or just kill him
I've played oblivion like 3 times and never found that before. Fricking blew my mind.
My favorite part was when I went to my 500th copy pasted dungeon and fought the same bullet sponge bandits again, and then I leveled up and that made the bandits in the 501st dungeon wear daedric armor.
Seeing this is like unwrapping a punch in my stomach. God i'm so glad I will die before have to play that snail slime again >but the dlc's are good!
Not worth a 20 hour playthough. God I have to look away it makes me sick.
It's just another fetch quest with some of Oblivion's horrible combat. The aesthetic of the painted world is cool, enough so that I'm willing to call it a good quest anyway, but the fact that a generic quest with some interesting visuals is top 1% material for Oblivion proves my point, I think. The other quests people like to mention are the dark brotherhood, and those are pure trash.
Click the moose. Shoot a guy with an arrow when he goes swimming. They're bare bones and tell you exactly what to do. The murder mystery house quest would be cool if it wasn't completely broken in two different ways.

I usually just grab ascension and that weather mod
Cant mod oblivion too much bc the client cant handle it as well as the other TES games. I pray every night for a remaster

I really fricking hate this.
There is no point in adding wolves everywhere on the main road.

I'm not messing with you or trying to be funny or edgy- if you want to find a partner and start a family, you need to refocus your life around dating. Today. Right now. You're going to blink and be in your 30s and the well will be dry.
If you don't want a partner, then obviously do whatever you want. But the greatest lie by omission is that there's time to find a partner- there isn't, it's a race to pair off.

The ugliest, dumbest, poorest MFers still manage, if you're average looking so can you. Jesus there was a guy at my high school who was so weird, he had no friends the entire time and smelled so horrible that everyone called him this cruel nickname that I won't even type in case someone would recognize it. Anyway I looked him up a few years ago out of morbid curiosity and he became an aeronautic engineer and married a sweet looking girl that even made me jealous. If HE can find someone literally anyone can. It's just a numbers game, you need maximum exposure to push the odds in your favor. Dating apps and co-ed spaces (work, school, fitness club, hobbies, etc.) are your tools. Spam hard.
I know that there are three girls that were interested in me, so being ugly isn’t a problem, but I think I am too autistic to pursue anyone.

Even if you aren't misreading them and are correct it's not going to stay that way, dude.
The first few hours of a Bethesda game is always the best. After that it starts to get stale. I've started new playthroughs is every Elderscrolls game but never finished one because I start to get what I call "Bethesda fatigue" and I stop playing after 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, or however many hours.
Am I the only one who autistically climb mountains on Oblivion?
It's weird because I never have the urge to do so in Skyrim. (Morrowind doesn't count because levitation makes climbing trivial)
Oblivion's combat is incredibly atrocious and you always rush to make it a non issue >archers level sneak until they can endlessly chain sneak attacks >mages rush the mages guild to get spell crafting to make efficient spells >warriors rush the mages guild and azura quest to enchant weapons that skip the tedium of block-hit-hit
I think there is something special to be noticed about Skyrim. It may not be as in-depth or intricately and personally designed as the other Elder Scrolls games but you can't just ignore how insanely popular it is. If you ignore multiplayer games like Fortnite and Minecraft, the popularity of Skyrim is astronomical. Nothing in the modern era comes close.
>swim to ruins >stealth archer everything in there >proceed to imperial city >go inna arena >sneak attack headshot every opponent the second the gate opens >90% of matches end before either side exits their pens

This game was fugly. It's hard to believe it came out in the samge generation as Skyrim.
The best thing in Skyrim was the Imperial City easter egg, I kid you not.
CHEESE FOR EVERYONE
I'm actually replaying this right now with that PushTheWinButton's minimalist mod guide. Really nice set of mods, and it still feels like vanilla.
How long did it take to set it up with that mod guide?
Like maybe one hour, if you read everything it tells you how to do every last thing in detail. Just remember to use "mod manager download" and not manual, or you won't get the BAIN installer prompts that he talks about.
>waa the game gets harder as I level up
Get good
frick you for predicting what was going to whine about in my post.
😉
There are people who will install 100 mods before moving the difficulty slider down.
Drink bleach braindead soulshomosexual
You can stop time by opening your inventory at any time and drink as many healing potions as you want. Oblivion is never even a little bit hard. That the extremely easy fights take increasingly longer to win as you level up is a legitimate complaint.
Zoomers really are a sad breed. Fricking Oblivion makes you feel happy? Jesus Christ.
Think they have it bad? Ask a boomer about Morrowind or Daggerfall. Those guys got the short end of the First TES stick.
>happy
You are confusing happiness with being comfortably numb. You will never know what being happy feels like.
With each passing year these "comfy" Oblivion screencaps just look worse and worse
that's just the soul settling in. happens to every old gem.
Oblivion threads are what finally convinced me that "soul" is just codeword for "I played this in middleschool".
thumbs up/thumbs down
kino/antikino
me like/me no like
unga/bunga
its all the same shit, c**t. just sit around waiting for the next generation version of it if you dont like this one. 6-7 years tops.
>6-7 years tops.
Skyrim is over a decade old now
Soul is used by any fanbase that has nothing else.
To be fair I don't remember many Half-Life, Bioshock, or Starcraft threads in the last decade.
Black person are you high or something? There's one at least every week.
On Ganker?
Is there one up now?
As you get older your eyesight deteriorates. Time for glasses old timer.
>cant find mod that makes max level 5/10/15 anymore
frick. this game peaked around level 8 or 10 or so.
By the gods there's a psychopath on the loose!
Are there any good graphic overhaul packs for skryim se?
Also is PerMa any good?
I have never finished an Elder Scrolls game.
A lot of people don't even with hundreds of hours. It's the only case where I can accept someone can be a fan of a game without even having beaten it.
Try Kingdom Come
kingdom come deliverance has the most realistic scaled forests i've ever come across
I think my favorite part besides shivering isles was
>Fricking around outside the imperial city
>Found a necromancer in a cave
>Found another one
>Found notes indicating there's a fricking necromancer ring around the city
>You can even find the leader and join him to get black soul crystals, or just kill him
I've played oblivion like 3 times and never found that before. Fricking blew my mind.
My favorite part was when I went to my 500th copy pasted dungeon and fought the same bullet sponge bandits again, and then I leveled up and that made the bandits in the 501st dungeon wear daedric armor.
Where's that at I don't remember anything like that
the best part about oblivion were the bikini armor and big titty mods
I'll take dwemer dungeons over ayleid ruins every day.
Terrible game, ugliest one too
Oblivion is maximal comfy, more than Witcher 3 or 2.
Any news from the other boards?
never speak to me again
You too
farewell
yeeessss
they say syndicates of mods led a boycott of subreddits, in the land of the plebbitors
Saw a redditor the other day. Horrible creatures.
I don't know and I don't want to know, Black person.
Nothing I want to talk about
Don't Bethesda drones ever question the fact their favorite games need 100+ mods installed to be playable?
>game is awesome
>but.... I had to work to make it awesome
>grug mad now
>good game.... bad???
Why are you responding to bait?
I don't think they know you mod your game nevermind care
Blessed kino Oblivion thread
I'm so fricking mad that I can't have immersive interiors and NAO at the same time.
Are there any good wabbajack modlists for skyrim SE GOG edition?
oooh oooh oooh ooohooh oooh I hope you know what you're doing
i love the game. I hate the ugly faces. I don't like ugly faces.
Seeing this is like unwrapping a punch in my stomach. God i'm so glad I will die before have to play that snail slime again
>but the dlc's are good!
Not worth a 20 hour playthough. God I have to look away it makes me sick.
I just gave up after beating the main quest at 16 hours.
The quests seem great, but I don’t want to deal with Oblivion anymore at that point.
>The quests seem great
People keep saying this but Oblivion's quests are bad even by the rock bottom standards of The Elder Scrolls series.
rythe lythandas is great
It's just another fetch quest with some of Oblivion's horrible combat.
Nah they're good, you're just a gay
Click the moose. Shoot a guy with an arrow when he goes swimming. They're bare bones and tell you exactly what to do. The murder mystery house quest would be cool if it wasn't completely broken in two different ways.
Damn, you got btfo hard by someone who played the game instead of wearing nostalgic goggles
genuinely curious, what would you consider good quests from games made before Oblivion?
What did you think of the hostel quest?
I was unemployed once and tried to make a perfect character but I got tired. Good game.
Please spoonfood me modding the eck so I can run this back
Been traveling for nearly a year with no sign of having my desktop again for the forseeable maybe longterm future
I usually just grab ascension and that weather mod
Cant mod oblivion too much bc the client cant handle it as well as the other TES games. I pray every night for a remaster
Can't you just download a modded version of oblivion and install that?
There was something so nice about watching an oblivion gate get destroyed when you walk out of it, and everything turns back to normal.
>*feels warm and happy*
I'm glad to hear your lobotomy went well, OP.
Camouflage completely breaks this game and I remember even getting 75% wasn't hard and it's enough most of the time.
>install mods
>start up oblivion
>go to the merchant district at night
>savescum and pickpocket every merchant for store keys
Every time.
After watching autism cat I expected something different from the game when I finally played it myself.
Based. Wilburger is a fricking treasure. And the fact that he makes all his own mods for the story is amazing.
This is going to take a while.
Cant wait to play it for 30 minutes and then never touch it again lol
blog on you boring bastard
>going on a horse rider around the map
>wolf appeared
>had to climb down every times
I really fricking hate this.
There is no point in adding wolves everywhere on the main road.
It's been 17 years since Oblivion released
>tfw I realized the other day it's already been 5 years since the TESVI teaser
pain
>he doesn’t know about the microshart roadmap saying TESVI will release in late 2031
This can't be true. The fricking mmo was such garbage.
>2031
>I'll be 39
pain
I'll be 48
I'm 39 now, it's fine. But you better find a wife in your 20s or you're fricked.
why is that?
how can I find a wife in 2 years if I've never even been on a date?
I'm not messing with you or trying to be funny or edgy- if you want to find a partner and start a family, you need to refocus your life around dating. Today. Right now. You're going to blink and be in your 30s and the well will be dry.
If you don't want a partner, then obviously do whatever you want. But the greatest lie by omission is that there's time to find a partner- there isn't, it's a race to pair off.
Been trying since 5th grade to get a gf/fugg with no success (literally 0 (zero)) and I'm average looking
That's like what, seventeen years of trying with nothing to show. Yeah it would be lovely to have someone love me but it ain't realistic now with those statistics is it
The ugliest, dumbest, poorest MFers still manage, if you're average looking so can you.
>I think I'm too _____
Get out of your head, just do it. If you can't do that then find a counselor who can help you with assertiveness training. You don't need medication, you simply need to learn to act.
Even if you aren't misreading them and are correct it's not going to stay that way, dude.
>getting married before TES VI is out
Oh for frick sake.
I won’t have the time play it then.
The first few hours of a Bethesda game is always the best. After that it starts to get stale. I've started new playthroughs is every Elderscrolls game but never finished one because I start to get what I call "Bethesda fatigue" and I stop playing after 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, or however many hours.
I hope the Viva New Vegas guys finish their Oblivion modlist soon.
amazing how mediocre this game is for having peak levels of comfy soul atmosphere
Soule’s music and Lord of the ring vibe helps a lot.
kys autist
k
Another trash game that blatantly stole from BoTW?
How has no one posted the best song.
oh my God, those strings
THOSE FRICKING STRINGS
They want money more than anything
That's crazy, what do they want to do with it?
Everything that's not bills and groceries is either free or fricking useless
Skyrim was universally rejected upon release by Ganker for at least the first 6 months.
prove it
You just watched the Emperor die and you're HAPPY?
and remember, it all started with $5 horse armor.
Were not getting this kind of music for TES 6 are we
Why didn't Todd ever try to sell Oblivion and Wind on the ps4?
because zoomies don't like good games and Todd knows that.
Oblivion with Deadly Reflex 4 had the absolute best combat system out of all action RPGs ever.
>You last downloaded a file from this mod on 13 Jun 2013
I don't feel so good, bros.
Time done gone and passed us all by.
>Thumbnail looked like Kingdom come: deliverance
>It's shitblivion
Jesus Christ be praised
Am I the only one who autistically climb mountains on Oblivion?
It's weird because I never have the urge to do so in Skyrim. (Morrowind doesn't count because levitation makes climbing trivial)
Oblivion's combat is incredibly atrocious and you always rush to make it a non issue
>archers level sneak until they can endlessly chain sneak attacks
>mages rush the mages guild to get spell crafting to make efficient spells
>warriors rush the mages guild and azura quest to enchant weapons that skip the tedium of block-hit-hit
I just use conjuration.
its kino because of the physics engine
skyrim went away with this and it shows
The physics are slightly worse than in Skyrim, what are you on about?
pls stop
LMAO my childhood. In my case it was also:
and
thank you kind sir 😀
Have you heard of the high elves?
I think there is something special to be noticed about Skyrim. It may not be as in-depth or intricately and personally designed as the other Elder Scrolls games but you can't just ignore how insanely popular it is. If you ignore multiplayer games like Fortnite and Minecraft, the popularity of Skyrim is astronomical. Nothing in the modern era comes close.
>enjoy Morrowind
>enjoy Oblivion
>enjoy Skyrim
It's just that easy.
>MMM I JUST LOVE EATING SHIT
>PLEASE GIVE ME MORE SHIT TO EAT PLEASE
>have no taste
>it's that easy
Go watch bayformers
>swim to ruins
>stealth archer everything in there
>proceed to imperial city
>go inna arena
>sneak attack headshot every opponent the second the gate opens
>90% of matches end before either side exits their pens
