Fellas, why isn't Stranger of Paradise getting a LOT more attention?
>top tier combat
Team Ninja did it again. Easily some of the most depth of any combat system in the past 5 years, easy. Innumerable combinations, permutations, and all of it is interesting.
>gigachad protagonist that literally doesn't give a frick
FF plots tend to be very mopey and self-serious. We now have a protagonist that doesn't by into this sappy melodrama. When people are preparing to monologue, he walks past them, punches them, or otherwise interrupts them. I feel like Team Ninja really went out of their way to make the anti-Final Fantasy main character.
>fricking phenomenal plot
I've never understood the criticism of this game's story. Projared shit on it for having a "predictable twist". Nah, it isn't about the ending itself, but why this ending took place and the journey to get there, and what this journey means in the greater context of classic Final Fantasy. It's really rare to have a game or story with a villain protagonist who realizes he must be classical mwahaha evil in order to do the most morally right thing. I really love this deconstruction of nihilistic Final Fantasy bosses. Only writing the game really fails at is in advertising this brilliant story.
>FINALLY AN ACTION GAME WITH A GREAT CLASS SYSTEM
Holy shit I've missed this. Almost every time an interesting class system is only located inside tactical games. There really hasn't been this good of a class system since Dragon's Dogma. The only difference? Dragon's Dogma had 9 interesting classes, while Stranger of Paradise has 28.
wake me up later when it actually releases on PC
until then I'll keep enjoying the copy that Timmy paid for
It did release on PC. One of the few times I've ever given the EGS my money and it's fricking worth it.
>One of the few times I've ever given the EGS my money and it's fricking worth it.
Everybody laugh at this gay that paid for something that is on EGS.
haha wtf
>he buys on EGS
LOL
LMAO even
and dare I say it, ROFLMAO
EGS exclusivity
Because its shit
Literally releasing it on a storefront many have never even heard of. Isn't epic games store just for playing Fortnite anyway?
>Its not on steam and PC version wasn't the greatest, also FF crowd are bunch of cringe morons who can't like good games
Hardly a member of the FF crowd. Seriously watch some gameplay. Y'all worship Doom Eternal and this is a game that does it better.
Because its fricking trash
Frick right off, shill
You're doing this shit almost every day
I haven't posted in Ganker in about 5 years. I'm not a shill, just an enthusiast
>Fellas, why isn't Stranger of Paradise getting a LOT more attention?
Because being on EGS and not Steam basically means the game is not out yet as far as PC is concerned.
Is there a steam release coming? I want to kill Chaos
>>top tier combat
>Team Ninja did it again. Easily some of the most depth of any combat system in the past 5 years, easy. Innumerable combinations, permutations, and all of it is interesting.
Yeah, that's called BLOAT.
A lot of content does not equal bloat. Team Ninja really didn't make any of the classes feel neglected because they have unique bonuses and abilities.
The real depth is when you get a lot of class affinity, then you can get some stupid builds. Like a spellcaster that reduces his mana limit to 0 in exchange for infinite mana for a duration, and then regains his mana cap by casting lots of spells, or a greatsword user focused on counters and defensive play, or an assassin about stacking fat stacks of damage.
Team Ninja did a great job at making you seriously think about the loadout you bring into battle, and how abilities and spells affect each other.
That and Team Ninja did a lot to make white magic feel REALLY powerful.
Only disappointment is that there really isn't a ranged class, or many classes that are good at dealing status effect damage.
Game only released in March. If there were news of a Steam release it'd probably be in several months like the FF7 remake. My assumption is that there's a similar deal.
This is what I was talking about here
I don't want to be rude but this looks very boring to me. Good Night Tim
Except ilvl is all that matters until you are at chaos 300. So its. Fricking trash.
game is mid
I didn't buy it because it was an EGS exclusive, and I won't buy it when it comes to Steam either because it runs like shit. I really liked the game though.
EGS
teamninjas gameplay looks really great.
I haven't pirated it yet. didn't they just release DLC?
guess I'll wait.
also I want to add that even if it wasn't for EGS.
even tho I want to support team ninja I would never give square my money. before I would avoid it, after FF7R I flat out refuse under any condition.
literally not on steam steamgays only play games if they can make sure fatty gaben gets enough money from them.
Not on steam.
Has the game been fixed on PC yet? Pirated on release and it ran like dogshit even on my 3090.
Last I checked performance was still bad.
Here's a Reddit post which explains why the game can never be fixed.

It runs like shit on pc. If they fix the fricking game I'd actually play and talk about it.
Release it on literally any PC storefront besides Epic and I will buy it.
>pc homosexuals beg for games
>get games
>claim they don’t want it because it’s on the wrong launcher
You homosexuals are fricking stupid.
>epicpajeets are already seething
don't you have a street to shit on and a cow to frick?
I actually liked the game and I'm glad you like it even more. Tiamat destroyed my ass on Hard and I loved it.
But let's not forget that it runs like shit on any PC. Levels are terribly-looking and not very fun to explore, the only one I enjoyed was Cornelia but it was also the shortest. They even used it a couple of times forcing you to run back and forth. Story writing was bad (I WILL DEVOUR ALL THAT IS GOOD!!) but Jack saved it, indeed. There's also overall feeling of unfinishedness like when you can't roam around Cornelia to talk with someone. You only have one-line "dialogue" cutscenes from menu. You can't even see your blacksmith.
EGS. Not buying it until it releases on steam.
It's a terrible game all around, there's a few good ideas here and there but that's it.
You can tell they had no budget and Square rushed it out the door
Jack Stranger waited. The lights above him blinked and sparked out of the air. There were chaos in the shrine. He didn't see them, but had expected them, now for years. His warnings to the Warriors of Light were not listenend to and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway.
Jack was a swordsman for final fantasy fourteen years. When he was young he watched the chocobos and he said to dad "I want to be on the chocobos, daddy."
Dad said "NO! YOU WILL BE KILL BY CHAOS!"
There was a time when he believed him. Then as he got oldered he stopped. But now in the shrine of the Garland he knew there were Chaos.
"This is Light," the crystal crackered. "You must fight the chaos!"
So Jack gotted his graet sword and blew up the wall.
"HE GOING TO KILL US," said the chaos!
"I will knock at him down," said the Garland and he fired the rebellion swords. Jack graet sworded at him and tried to blew him up. But then the ceiling fell and they were trapped and not able to kill.
"No! I must kill the chaos," he shouted!
The crystals said "No, Jack. You are the chaos."
And then, Jack was the chaos.
