Why aren't you clubbing, Ganker?
Because I can actually RP.
Well you made it through the worst part. Shadowbringer is the only part of the game actually worth it. You can quit right after.
The game stopped being good in SHB, but you missed when it still was.
I saw this guys video and he said you even get real shirts if you beat hard bosses in XIV? Is this true or was it a promo stunt?
They do that at cons, or used to at least they didn't do it this year.
They haven't done that shit in years.
XIV threads so dead and infrequent lately. Bad actors really did their job, huh?
no, bad developers did
This is how it's supposed to be at this point. Fanfest is still a few weeks away and then after that it'll be months until expac with a whole lot of nothing to talk about. No reason to have constant threads about it.
Fanfest is two weeks away, I'm guessing it's because it's the Tokyo one that we aren't really hyped for it considering most of it will be in Japanese most of the actual fest will won't be watchable until it's translated, which is a shame.
All that said, it is much larger than the UK and even the Las Vegas one so,
https://fanfest.finalfantasyxiv.com/2023-24/jp/
It being two weeks away doesn't give anything to really talk about though. And do they not translate JP fanfest into English? Usually I catch up with this shit after the fact since I'm not normally paying attention between expacs.
The keynote will be live translated but not much else
Just finished Bardam's mettle, how much more Stormblood MSQ do I have to suffer through before I'm free? If another npc shitter tries to talk me down when I could murder their entire family with my eyes closed I think I'll punch a wall
>main character syndrome
Oh you will LOVE shb and ew, all npcs do is suck your wiener
It's not MC syndrome, I don't care about the game making me job to Zenos because he's cool and is an important character. But when I'm forced to go along with a bunch of mongolian goatfrickers kidnapping me it gets tiring.
Those mongolian goatfrickers are canonically the strongest race of the world
Don't care I could 100% frick them up
Sure you could manlet
They got their shit rocked by Ishgardian Temple Knights and Sid is still coping about it.
It's the funniest story the more you think about it. Arrogant little shits come over as illegal immigrants and just start trying to claim clay in a warzone, pat themselves on the back for not immediately ambushing the first patrol they saw, and then get casually mistaken for Dravanians and chopped right down. The only part I don't understand is why Sidurgu thinks they were Temple Knights. Usually, the soldiers you see on the Coerthan frontlines during the Dragonsong War are knights serving one of the Great Houses while Temple Knights are garrisoned in Ishgard proper. Maybe pre-Calamity the TKs were more active out in the boonies?
>The only part I don't understand is why Sidurgu thinks they were Temple Knights.
My mans Sidurgu is dumb.
Technically, Dragoons are a subsect of the Temple Knights. So there was definitely Dragoons there
Those were literally unarmed civilians
No they weren't. It's amazing how xaela apologists go from "unga bunga we strong warrior race, we strongest, you civilized people are weak, we never lose" to "omg we were like, poor innocent migrants who never did anything wrong and had no weapons as we tried to annex part of your land while you were fighting a thousand-year war against infinite dragons." No wonder au ra women prefer Eorzean men.
They weren't invaders, they were fleeing civilian refugees
The eternal elezen saying lies again, not every xaela tribe is hostile or conquerors
None of that is true. It was typical xaela ignorance and stupidity at work, thinking they could simply invade like arrogant little dickheads and not get slapped for it. You're right, not every xaela tribe is hostile, because some stay on their own damned land and don't try to settle in someone else's homeland, and you'll notice they never got run the frick down by chocobo-riding knights JUICED on a combination of faith in the Fury and fresh croissants.
>One of the many refugees from Doma in the wake of Garlean occupation, a young Sidurgu and his family found their way to Ishgard. Due to misconceptions of Au Ra being of Dravanian descent, they were slaughtered indiscriminately. Sidurgu was made to watch his parents die, but before the sword could find his own neck, he was saved by the one who would become his master
They were not even a steppe tribe
The Garleans were right about Eorzeans.
Didn't the Ishgardians then desecrate and cut up the bodes afterward which is what led them to realize that "oopsie, they aren't actually dragonkind after all"?
Yes, they are savages
Nobody expects the Ishardian Inquisition!
Ishgard can fricking burn.
It was more they'd never seen them before and having been at war with dragons for hundreds of years were like hey we should kill these and figure it out later. Which later after dissecting them realized frick not dragons.
>peaceful refugees dindu nuffin
Funny how the Doman refugees that come over with Yugiri are grateful and refuse to stay anywhere without express permission, which they pay back by loaning out their clan of ninjas, while the xaela refugees just tried to claim land, and Sidurgu even boasts that they could have ambushed and killed the first patrol they saw. That entry is deliberately written to make it sound as if they were looking for citizenship and a place in the city itself and got police violenced, and it goes directly against what we actually hear from the characters involved.
>while the xaela refugees just tried to claim land
Proof?
Sidurgu's own dialogue. They arrived as a group, in the highlands, presumably by the water passages that the Calamity closed. They were warriors, and considered killing the first knights they ran into, but instead "showed mercy" by not killing the people who owned the land they were on.
So killed for being nice
If you're a group of cartel members sneaking in over the border, you are not "being nice" by not shooting at the first Border Patrol agents you see.
They were refugees not an invading army
Same thing.
>noooooooooooo our home is destroyed you have to take us in because, because, because you just do, OK!
it's more like they never expected anyone to be there
The Highlands had a lot more people before the Calamity.
They were armed and intent on settling land that didn't belong to them. They were invaders.
Sauce?

I had friends who disowned the game after Stormblood and fell in love with it again after others told them for years that Shadowbringers redeemed it and so they gave it a second shot, so you're actually right there.
But if you didn't even like Heavensward it might not be for you.
ShB is overrated isekai garbage, almost everyone who liked it didn't even like arr-sb, so maybe you will

How long you staying up today, Enrique?
Mistborn glamour detected. I didn't know people on Ganker could read.

go back. these threads will never be good and wow is also just a better game
Gameplay-wise the game has only gotten worse since Stormblood, one or two job exceptions aside. Story-wise ymmv but Shadowbringers is definitely a departure from the writing of Stormblood for sure.
I love RDM gato
>STARTING FF14 IN 2024-1
HAHAAHAHAHHAHAHA frick off we don't want you
Good, stop playing. We don't need more shitters and newbies shitting up endgame.
I have a level 11 I made like 4 years ago, is it worth continuing on that one or just starting a new character?
Doesn't matter much either way unless you have old event items on it, you can go 1-11 in an hour.
i like femroes.
that is all.
i hate playing it but goddamn RDM is peak aesthetic
That's a funny way of spelling BLU
BLU is a fricking circus clown, don't give me that shit.
TOTAL BIGGER DEATH
When you invest enough time or money into the game that it triggers sunk cost fallacy
It doesn't.
It just becomes servicable.
The Japs use NicoNico as their streaming platform, frick me I thought they used Twitch or Youtube, I'm bringing this up because the piano concert they're streaming the Tokyo fanfestival piano concert and Primals this time.
>NicoNico
lol
lmao
That site has been dead for years. Only boomer nips use it, and barely. You're streets behind.
So what do they use? They don't use Twitch or Youtube?
They use twitch and Youtube. Just take a look at the highest viewed streamers on twitch right now. most are japanese.
>invite friend to play
>he skipped all 2.0 curscenes
>tell him to do the CT quests so he can see how a 24 man looks
>he does the 3 raids
>ask me if he can access the crystal tower now
>tell him I dont understant
>he thought all the raids were to give him access to the tower
>tell him that was the tower
>he gets mad and quits the game saying theres nothing but non stop random battles
I dont understand what people expect by playing a MMO
wtf did he want to do in the tower?
He thought it was a whole new are to explore
I mean it is but thats not until Shadowbringers
Do alliance raids still don't have exploration mode?
There’s the ocularium and eureka orthos, so he’s not wrong, I guess.
What...I know I'm getting older and my brain dun wurk so gud nymoar. But, did your friend not know there are raids, in these games? Even if it's not 14, Final Fantasy one of the key defining aspects of the series is random battles. I'm really confused by your friend, I think I'd like to hurt him because he hurt my head.
>inviting your friends to ff14 cutscene shitshow
youre a bad friend
Never. A bunch of addicts who struggle with the easy gameplay will tell you
>it gets better at endgame
but the endgame is easy - it's more red circle dodging and simple instruction following, while you do the same rotation you always do.
Play an actual game, watch FFXIV's story on Youtube if you care about it.
Why nobody plays dragoon? Seriously. What is the DRG problem as a DRG that I literally never see it in PF?
I unironically dislike how the eye opening mechanic works even though it's literally just a 1->2 | 1->2 combination. And the fact jumping is just an off thought oGCD instead of an actual core mechanic of the class.
Shit ton of buttons to get essentially the same results as simpler classes like Reaper.
Plus it being extremely fricking boring until level 60+ does it no favors, it doesn't even a spammable AoE until something like 42.
>only thing I look forward to is the MSQ and with DT they listened to the "kill the scions" gaylords and replace them as antagonists with a godawful group seemingly consisting of Alphi, Erenville, Krile and the Hroth girl
It really feels they try their best to make the game as unattractive as possible to me.
Literally none of this is real and you're being a homosexual. There will be some ironic competition where you are divided into teams but it will never be more than Y'shtola being snarky and smug at you because she's one step ahead in finding eldorado or something.
They will never change the Scions' dynamics because it's too dangerous at this point, when they refused to actually kill Thancred after that shadowbringers fight I knew that would be the case forever.
I have come to expect the worse from the developers at this point. Island Sanctuary was a complete disappointment, Criterion equally, I don't care for Ultimates.. patch MSQ was fine but boy did the 6.2 to 6.4 patches drag on with nothing. That left me with the savage raids and ex trials, the latter which lasts for literally one week.
I have legitimately no idea what they are doing at this point.
Literally nobody knew what they even wanted island sanctuary to be. I expected it to be a daily thing you deal with in 10 minutes like you do Doman Enclave and that's exactly what we got.
People that expected harvest moon or that nintendo furry game were utterly delusional from the start and I'm tired of hearing the words "sanctuary" or "bozja" every discussion.
> but boy did the 6.2 to 6.4 patches drag on with nothing
>That left me with the savage raids and ex trials, the latter which lasts for literally one week.
>I have legitimately no idea what they are doing at this point.
Exactly the same thing they have been doing for the past 10 years.
>People that expected harvest moon or that nintendo furry game were utterly delusional from the start
Considering we had Chocobo Breeding, Gardening and Housing since ARR, I was fully expecting it to be something along those lines on a farming scale and with the same amount of depth. Making it into a literal idle game was such a weird move.
Also, I would argue that SB and ShB had pretty good patch MSQs. The whole void plot felt so weirdly contained and, if we are honest, are basically just a replacement for the Trial Quests that were completely axed in EW.
If you need further evidence for this, consider that 6.1's "New Adventure" plotline appears to be dovetailing pretty nicely into the start of Dawntrail/6.55. The entire Void plot line is pretty obviously filler to stall for time since they didn't do the usual "finish the MSQ in x/3" patch structure.
I get the impression they didn't want to do a hard reset to provide a proper new starting point for players (as well as realizing they can't get rid of the scions) and decided to simply make the trial storyline into the patch MSQ. Ending 6.0 in 6.0 and not .3 is fine and makes sense but them then not using the entire patch series as a 7.0 lead in was a huge disappointment.
The void plotline was just another case of them tying up loose ends so we can move forward, just like the beast tribes, primals, etc. that they've been doing since the end of ShB.
I mean I can see why the whole thing isn't a 7.0 lead in. They usually do that shit in two patches worth of story and I don't recall any of them feeling like they really needed more time. Since the new one is supposed to be a brand new thing that will presumably not be an immediate threat to the rest of the world then I think it's fine to spend even less time building it up like they've done. But that does of course leave the problem of what to do with all those patches and their answer was.. okay. Though I do wish the void had more immediate even if minor consequences rather than just being up in the air for the nebulous future which I mean they could still pull something like that out of their hat but I kinda doubt it.
The whole thing is likely just gonna be used as proof of concept for more shard hopping going forward.
It's going to be a real mess in the long run because they intend to use 6.1 as a new starting point for the game and it's really not setup in a way that makes it even a bit coherent. If they had used the patches as a build up to 7.0 it would have worked fairly well, .1 and most of .2 are rather meh normally anyway.
I don't think I've ever heard them say they're gonna use 6.1 as a new starting point. A new starting point sounds like something they've tossed around as an idea with no substance and haven't made any actual mention on details of any kind because there's a lot of nonsense that goes with that and I'm guessing they haven't actually figured any of that out yet. Plus you're still trying to stretch a story lead in that can be covered in a literal .55 patch not including the couple of vague mentions that came in the last couple patches. Stretching a non-story like that too thin would be a terrible idea which is why likely why they didn't do it.
They did, during the last fanfest I believe. The plan is for 6.1 to be a new starting point eventually.
I don't remember them saying that in any of the stuff I watched. How about you either go and find a source for your claim or stop making up complete nonsense based on some vague thing they said that they didn't elaborate on. I'm sure if you actually manage to find a source you'll be sure to repeatedly post it over the next few days and I'll end up seeing it eventually, so go on off with you now.
You have a web browser dumbass.
>A: ... we are currently working on a system whereby each character, lore, and world setting up to patch 6.0 can be viewed in-game, and we are preparing for people to skip to 6.0 and start their adventure from 6.1.
>First result is a reddit thread where the op immediately gets called out for a mistranslation
Damn, didn't even scroll down to see that part. That's even better.
Before you go off on another tangent about how hard it is for you to use the internet, the point is that with the way they've handled the patch series and the ending to EW that it will not make a good one should they choose to do it. Whatever happens from here on out won't change the fact that they've done a very poor job of setting up what would have been a very logical point to use as a new starting point.
Personally? I think the game will need one, maybe not now but once we start pushing into 8.0 and 9.0 the game is going to be so insanely long and the early parts so dated that it's going to put people off and be more of a chore than an adventure. I think people get too autistic when this gets brought up and start throwing fits about new players skipping story when that isn't the intent, it's about being able to enjoy the new and the old without feeling trapped by a decade of old content before you can enjoy the new.
Not only am I bad at googling shit but it turns out this was buried in a goddamn famitsu article which it turns out makes it harder to search. Also you forgot part of the post you took that translation from
>However, if we were to compare it to a TV drama, we feel that it would be more natural to say "start from season 1 because it is easier to watch and catch up" rather than "start from season 6". So, we are preparing for this, but we are still not sure if we will actually implement that as a measure in 7.0
So I admit they gave more detail than I thought they would have but it's still not something they're sure about and they'd still rather you play the whole damn thing because it's still gonna be dependent on it. So they never intended 6.1 to be some fresh start where you can really skip everything that came before which is why it isn't some overly long introduction to 7.0. It's just an option they're thinking of giving dumbasses that complain about how it's too long for them to work through even though most of it is free at this point.
All they had to do with Island sanctuary was allow other people to farm your Island, that's it. Let you have a small house, say an apartment size or a shed or some such shit so it felt like your own place and not just an excel spread sheet of chores, and people would have loved it.
Wait, you don't even have a little house to ERP in?
No, just outside furniture and outbuildings you can place down but can't customise.
Well if we're gonna go on the internet and tell lies then I suppose I'm not buying Dawntrail because they opted to add sex scenes for gay male characters only. Can't believe they'd go and do that.
Anon, they're literally advertising it as the "chillax vacation with the Scions" expansion now. You can stop doomposting.
>some marketing schlubs doing translations instead of word of mouth from yoshi, fox, and ching chinglish titles in video LL presentations.
anon....
ultra cope
Last I checked, the trailer was also still mostly WoL and Scions doing relaxing vacation stuff. We just know there will be ONE thing they will be divided for, and we don't even know if it's something serious.
>he believes the vacay filler expansion ruse
topkek
It's gonna start off as a fun vacation, only for it to become another 'end of the world' scenario about halfway through
nah its going to start off as business (thancred, urianger job), (krile making us work for free for her stupid grandpa story), and (muh daddys issues hrothgirl dogshit story plus erenville) . the ELIMINATOR will be the save the galaxy shit again.
Well obviously at some point shit will hit the fan, an expansion that was nothing but filler would be awful, imagine 2+ years of just waiting for something big to happen. But as far as the Scion front looks like, it seems it's gonna be mostly good vibes stuff and food scenes that annihilate the budget and leave someone out of a job.
Chances are it will be like the other anon says, just an excuse for whichever Scion you don't partner up with to get a couple scenes being smug and snarky right before something goes wrong while we weren't ready and then a heartfelt "I'm sorry I was playing while you needed me" scene. They're not gonna do a serious betrayal when we just got out of a patch where a villain merely says WoL is a loser and Y'shtola and Estinien fricking reveal they had practiced a WoL moral support speech ready to go at any time.
Should we even be afraid of anything? We literally killed god. There's nothing above that.
On everything we kill we have help, plot armor or mcguffins.
thordan is the only legit wol kill
Yotsuyu too. And the early primals who aren't that big of a threat. But yeah, WoL's kill count isn't as impressive as muh stakes gays want to make it out to be.
you mean the boss where we had one of nidhogg's eyes with us? he also wasn't as powerful as he thought he was, as that 'thousand years of hope and prayer' wasn't targeted at thordan, but a more general sense of salvation (which could have been succed up by elidibus)
our most impressive MSQ required kill is Shinryu as all we had with us were 7 adventurers who peeled off from the invasion of Ala Mhigo
Bringing fujo ghost is still our power. So yeah it was all us.
An actual summer vacation expansion with light hearted treasure hunting would be so fricking kino, but video game developer, especially square, can't go without "subverting expectations".
Oh well, I'll be happy with the two cutscenes I can talk to my wife and see if there is any cool contend after the MSQ.
just wait till Y'shtola is a dungeon boss and you get an actiony version of The Mushroomery
A railroaded expansion story about a slice of life shit summer vacation would be fricking boring.
>stand at purple mist
>kill enemies that appear
>go talk to npc
>go lookout at marker for enemies
>kill enemies that appear
>repeat for the next 300 hours
epic game design
sucks for you. Stormblood was the best expansion. its only getting downhill from here.
I tried to play it twice and got filtered by ARR boredom both times. Maybe it does get good 200 hours in, I don't hate myself enough to find out.
>When does FF XIV get good?

Is it out yet
Storywise? You're probably a few hours out from the good part. Content wise? You're already there.
The story is only good in the base game because it's a ripoff of lord of the rings. After it's a jap obsession with gnosticism.
Anyone dumped Encyclopedia eorzea 3 yet?
It doesn't.
lewd lalas..
Is it Green Mage or is that as much copium as Corsair was?
they stated the earring has nothing to do with the new job, the only hint for it was the shirt
>they stated
Source? Because that would be outright denying its Green Mage.
type it into google yourself anon, during the last fanfest yoshi p made a statement that the only hint they've given towards the second job was the tshirt, he didn't clarify if the shirtw as a hint to the second AND the first, just that it was the only hint towards the second job thus far
You google it, burden of proof is on you, I've never seen Yoshida state the shirt was the ONLY hint.
The burden of ignorance is on you, I don't give a frick what you do or do not know. It was a statement during the Viper reveal, look it up yourself.
You're only embarassing yourself.
?t=2807
I'm not the one screaming about green mage on a daily basis.
I don't give a shit about green mage and likely wouldn't play it, but at least I'm not pulling shit out of my ass to deny even the possibility.
>States the shirt was a hint for the caster(does not clarify if it was ALSO a hint for viper)
>Implies there has not been another hint since
>Earring showed up after the shirt
this isn't rocket science
You're really choosing to die on the hill of vague semantics because he didn't publicly spell out the earring was a hint? The earring the character confirmed to job change receives?
Brother you have some strange headcanon going on and all people are doing is pointing out actual facts that you are doing everything you can to wiggle around and ignore. The earring has at no point been confirmed to have any relation to the new job, when referencing hints to the new job yoshi p himself stated there has only been one thus far.
If you REALLY want to play semantics the only thing Krile has been confirmed for is a "more active role" and an outfit change.
The only headcanon is yours trying to desperately read Yoshida's comment about the shirt as it being the only possible hint, devaluating every other possible hint piling up around Krile.
>Yoshi P says something
>NOOO it's your headcanon don't listen to him trust ME trust all these other things!!
Maybe english isn't your main language, generally when someone uses the phrase "other than X...." it means that the X is alone, by itself, the only one. In this case, and I'm paraphrasing here, when the game director says "Other than the hint back in vegas (the shirt) you'll just have to wait" the first and most obvious meaning to that statement is that the shirt is and was at that point in time the only hint given towards the second new job and that the earring, which was showcased after the shirt and was not mentioned here, had nothing to do with the job.
This isn't that hard to figure out anon.
You're a complete and utter idiot taking that comment that literally, because if the earring is a hint he would never say it outright.
Is that why he said the shirt was a hint outright?
>the only thing Krile has been confirmed for is a "more active role" and an outfit change.
And that outfit better be this
you asked for sauce, you go look for it
if he was trying to deny something you said, burden of proof would apply, but not in this case
Green Mage isn't marketable anon. It's going to be more edgy donut steel shit you'd expect to see in a kmmo.
>Green Mage isn't marketable
And Sage was? Astrologian was?
It all depends on the flavoring. If Green Mage goes full plantmancer with briar thorns and shit while having a cutesy AF it'll do well.
Woops picture for ants.
been thinking of playing some ff14 lately, is the experience as a solo player still ass?
I tried fishing. I caught a boot. Finally, something I can relate to.
>believing anything yoshipee says
Sephirot ego soon bois
It doesn't get better
Honestly who even cares if it's "Green Mage' or not it's gonna be another Sage situation where the job becomes pretty much an original concept anyway most likely.
This applies to everyone; if you're not enjoying XIV during ARR, just save yourself the time and stop playing.
It's necromancer
It's going to be a dot based job with skeleton pets
Just trust me bro
>Necromancer Krile
Kek
>he still think his forced plot device is going to be relevant
surely after the 4th time
I don't get your hate boner for such an inoffensive character man but you do you
>inoffensive
Not since ew
Gonna have to explain this one chief because nothing really changed
Ignore the gay. He hates Krile because his own waifu sucks
I still hold Pictomancer to be a possibility because of the Krile/Relm overlap and the turtles being named after artists, but Green Mage has the highest likelihood right now.
It will be some new OC bullshit never seen before
That or BLU, I'm still confused by them announcing a new limited job and then saying it'll release when BLU normally gets it's update.
Believing BLU is going to be turned into a full job is the biggest copium of all.
It's the easiest and laziest route for them to take, that's what makes it plausible.
Doubtful, Viper already has that slot. Don't think they'll do two FFXIV-original jobs in one expac while they can still recycle a traditional.
Gunbreaker + Dancer, Reaper + Sage, Viper + traditional caster.
Still quite a few they could reimagine in that category. Green Mage, Pictomancer, Oracle, Mystic, Mystic Knight, Geomancer, Time Mage, Necromancer, Elementalist, Arithmetician, Orator etc.
But most of them overlap in some way lore/flavorwise with existing jobs.
See
, doesn't really matter what they call the job because it's not gonna be like any of its previous iterations even if it's technically "returning"
So is Yoshi P gonna be cosplaying the second job? If so I doubt it'll be anything too cutesy.

I wish red mage was useful in high end content, their outfits look amazing.
They are fine for high end stuff. Play what you want.
Not this expansion they weren't. You literally couldn't clear P8S week one without a BLM.
Balance was fricked this time.
WAR, PLD, RPR, MCH, RDM, WHM, and SGE were all dead weight week 1 unless they happened to receive every piece of loot by doing it P5S-P7S in PF. No clue what happened in testing but Yoshida trying to cover his ass for it was real funny.

It'd be interesting.

>Uldah anything
Hey, every Alliance leaders had their character arc in EW. Nanamo needs hers
Nanamo has had a character arc all the way since ARR and we got her again in the Variant Dungeon.
Yes and so did Raubahn. And the Subterranean is just backstory about her parents.. and I'm also pretty sure they retconned how they died btw. Because I could have sworn that Nanamo said they died near the Unholy Heir.
>Character arc at the beginning of HW
>Character arc at the end of SB
>Character arc in EW
Being the 'head' of the Eorzean alliance isn't a character arc
Eat your fricking salt Nanamo
Lolorito is the salt eater. Nanamo was simply securing the supply line
That was part of her fourth character development
cringe. kys.
>Nanamo centric expansion
Shut up and take my money. NOW.
What, Nanamo AGAIN?
Frick off. There's more fricking leader characters in the game goddamnit, Nanamo gets one arc each expansion and now she JUST got a variant dungeon all to herself. Nanamo arcs are never even good.
I mean, technically Nanamo has the most political clout amongst the leaders of the Alliance. Given that she's the Sultana. So in a political situation gone terribly wrong, she would be the best leader to be the one at the forefront due to her being what is essentially the 'head'
That and watching Nanamo suffer basic inconveniences afterwards while hoofing it through the wilderness with WoL sounds funny.
Ok, counterpoint:
Nanamo has proven time and again that she's the most inexperienced and incompetent Alliance leader that can frick up in the most spectacular ways that everyone but her ends up paying for, so she shouldn't.
Yes and that right there would be the best reason for it.
>Nanamo gets a taste of the rough life while on the lamb in Meracydia with WoL
>Nanamo gets to actually grow as a leader
>Nanamo learns to cut the shit and grow a spine
It'd give her essentially a lite version of Alphinaud's growth from ARR to HW which would be good.
Nanamo has already completed her arc anon. She's a monarch who has both compassion for her people, a vision for what is best and isn't afraid to wield her power to accomplish it. She learned this after she had her ass saved by Lolorito and learned to operate without hiding behind Raubhan and learned to lean on those of her own status
Yes and now she needs a political situation gone wrong moment.
her attempting to abdicate her throne isn't good enough?
That's internal politics. I'm talking negotiations with a foreign country (going to said country to open up agreements and such) going ass over tea kettle resulting in all out war.
you mean like 4.5?
That was the entire alliance getting in on it. I'm talking about Nanamo going to say... Meracydia(or neutral ground like the South Sea Islands)to after getting invited, only for the negotiations to be a ruse and that Meracydia just wanted to weaken Eorzea before invading.
and why would they appoint nanamo to be an ambassador when she's a head of state? they have people for that you know
Either Meracydia's leader specifically requests to meet her in an attempt to weaken Eorzea's power based or she volunteers. Regardless, WoL would get asked to be her bodyguard with of course throws everything off.
Nanamo arcs are the best.
>Nanamo arcs are the best.
>"people r poor and sad :("
>wol: ":("
>"we must help people be less poor"
>wol: ":o"
wow...
It's funny because it always starts like
>poor people 🙁
and then it ends like
>Here you go Lolorito, even more resources and riches and cheap workforce 🙂 What new scheme are you cooking you incorrigible israelite? 😀
It's pretty fricking obvious Krile and her grandfather are going to take center stage and this will be a FF V worship expac.
I'm fully expecting the other Dawn Warriors to make an appearance.
Just weird when they've already "wasted" Exdeath in the Omega raid series.
>Just weird when they've already "wasted" Exdeath in the Omega raid series.
ENTER
>lupin way after sb
>just got erenville
you will never get the knot.
>Just weird when they've already "wasted" Exdeath in the Omega raid series.
They went and wasted fricking Chaos, of all things, on a filler first boss.
It's not like they can't reuse them, we have a Cloud of Dankness boss fight twice....

The gameplay will always be bad no matter where you are in the game and the story is basically the only deciding factor wether you keep going or not. So if you didn't like Heavensward and now Stormblood (which is understandable because the story is too disconnected to be decent), then you might as well drop it now.
>elusive jump to death 0.0000001 second after random rescue
The story is good imo but the gameplay is atrocious. Right click a guy, walk over to right click another guy, right click to walk over to another guy, interact with 3 purple smokes that each spawn 1-3 guys that die immediately, then watch a 5 minute cutscene. Repeat 100 times. It almost plays like a parody of what people think MMOs are and genuinely would work better as a show/movie than a game.
this.
seriously sometimes I wish they'd give some more instanced-fight quests...
>krile
muh grandpa stuff
>erenville
who the frick cares about this homosexual
>hrothgirl
muh daddy issues.
female characters are always daddy issues. watch.
>end of stormblood
That's when lol. If you don't like it now just quit, don't buy into the shb shitposters. Yes it's the best expac but the writing isn't that much better than peak sb.
>peak sb
lmao kys.
>90% filler until muh ancientrinos
B-but remember us and Emet-Selch and cryikino cutscene and le feelings and fakeout deaths
stormblood is dogshit
>ivalice trash
shadowbringers had some dogshit too
>bozja
>muh lesbians
Ivalice was goodt and the last truly great 24man
Bozja was also good content but the story sucked because hrothshit were a mistake and forcing the plot to be about them was an even worse mistake
ur a gayit
Which players are the cooler, smarter and more big-dicked? WAR or PLD?
pld.
war is small brain OP meta dogshit
>join parse party
>pld autistically rotates through every party mit he has
>gets a gold heal parse
definitely pld
>cast clemency one time
>gold heal parse
you joke but it's actually impressive especially since the pld also got a pink in damage too.
XIV unironically lost. Go play WoW.
No
>*Casts Flare*
yip in hell
stay in your containment game troon
I played WHM and AST until 70. I have enough of an idea of healing to try out Sage now, right.
>When does it get good
The moment it begins
>When does it get great
The moment Yugiri comes into the scene
Honestly, it's actually depressing sometimes when I think what a major part she played in ARR's post-story and how easily they pared that back in HW, then again in SB and beyond. They should do more to keep the popular female cast relevant, instead of replacing them with more male hangers-on.
your weeb lizard ninja is a shit character

>The only sage guide you'll ever need
>It's a man using a female character as their avatar (why do so many YouTubers do this? I can tell they're not even trannies but they still insist on voicing their female WoL)
>Just reads the toolkit and fills it with random roleplay kits
I'll just go read a guide in the Balance, I guess.
the only good 14 israelitetuber is that xaela israelite crafter
lion something something
Because they're closet troons. Next question.
if you need healing guides go over to https://www.feys-temperance.gg/healer-guides
How do you mage glam plates when you have more than one job on the same role? Do you have to use the link plates to gearset option?
I use glamourer like anyone living in 2023
what's that?
the MSQ never gets good
>When does it get good?
the moment daughterwife appears
Good, you should probably just give up. 🙂
I made it up to the end of Heavensward before I gave up. I was willing to trudge through ARR, but when Heavensward, which was allegedly good, didn't end u feeling like much of a step up from ARR, I assumed the same would be true of Shadowbringers despite the praise that gets.
>pick up quest
*watch cutscene*
>do dungeon
*watch cutscene*
>fight boss

>95% of the gaming content ends up with you pressing your 2 aoe buttons or 123 combo you learned at level 20
"Game" is shit and it's fanboys get uppity about it, do yourself a favor and dodge this timesink
This, the single player content is abysmally shit and so is 90% of the multiplayer stuff which is built for morons with no hands. Savage is fun but not worth the whole smelly package.
Try to make it less obvious next time
Right on time.
I mean, the second post essentially just parrots the first one. So I can get why anon would assume
if i were to play now, how soon would i be able to get that outfit?
I literally skip all the cutscenes. But the gameplay itself is genuinely cool. I say this as someone who hates a lot of the game but ultimately the boss fights and combat flow is genuinely fun/unique.
It gets good when you accept it's the worst writing you've ever experienced and purely focus on the gameplay, graphics and side stuff.
Oh but seriously the community needs to get a life. They are ABSOLUTELY INSANE. The WORST.
Also, Dawntrail will be updated graphically for the PS5 and the Endwalkers and Shadowbringers graphics were already quite impressive.
>Nanamo arcs are the best
>"wol... poor people need our help!"
>wol: ":D"
>"go help them i'll be here in disguise watching you"

woah... the best writing arcs of 14
yes, and she did all of it herself. no blade of light wielding hero did it for her
Ok but did you donate to Pyro' stream this month?
Remember to subscribe, paypig
Hey the mentally ill lala is there. Never noticed.
you can post 1000 suggestive pics but you give a streamer a prime sub one time... lol
I've got the place for you!
>>>/vg/
They love WoW over there! You don't even have to larp like you play FF14!
>constantly shits on his own community
>completely alienated everyone that watched him
>went crawling back to WoW
Too bad the lala can't crawl back to WoW as well
does anyone even watch this loser for reasons other than his autistic meltdowns
The lala does
I wonder if he threw away all his xiv merch and replaced them with blizzard shit again kek
Cutscene skippers need not chime in with their ugly characters.
we are almost there bros
JP fanfest very soon...
Make a sexy Momodi webm you hack!
>Nanamo arcs are the best
>refugees for the 500th time
>liberate ala mhigo
>"yay wol we did it now they have a home"
>refugees stay in ul'dah
Like 80% of them went back. The only ones that stayed were either too old to make the journey, had already started a life in Ul'dah, or were born in Thanalan.
Actually happy you started this thread. I gave this game a proper chance as every fricking weeb I knew was absolutely saying it was the best thing in MMORPG world.
I got to the first bit of Stormblood and I fricking dropped it fully.
The fricking story is OK at best in some key moments and I guess Heavensward was pretty aight. I mean if you ignore the amount of pointless dogshit you have to do with go from NPC A to NPC B to 90% of the time be forced to read dialogue that is spammed with weird English.
I found the PvP I did to be dogshit and the only thing that kept me going was that I enjoyed hanging back and playing this on controller.
To me it just isn't enough to keep playing, I just don't give a frick about the story and it feels like I am just reading a book most of the time as compared to actually having any gameplay.
Sorry anon I just fricking get angry thinking I wasted 100 something hours on this garbage.
There it is.
The slowass moleasses patch cycle with zero content is killing me. I hope they'll do better but doubt it, because it's very clear they've picked their comfortable zero ambition zero risks routine.
Having criterion next expansion and didn't announce exploratory zone i doubt anything gonna change.
Nanamogays pump the brakes here it's Krile's turn
What's Krile watching tonight?
My main hope for 7.0 at this point is a new Restoration zone, that shit was one of the best parts of ShB.
what zone would it be? i don't want to help the garleans
Void ofc
I'd rather go to the First and build a new city out in the Empty as it starts recovering
I just need a new Eureka/Bozja to spend untold amount of hours in.
If I could just get that, I would be happy.
I can't go another 2 years without a new one.
so why can't you just do more eureka or bozja then if you just need something like them to spend years in?
Because I've already spent years doing Eureka and Bozja. That's why I need a new one. Reading comprehension.
>When does FF XIV get good?
Never. It's a game with some soul that is insufferably smothered at every possible chance by hack directors and the genre of game it is. In a true post-Enix fashion.
I want a Lalafell gf to carry around in a backpack like Kazooie that will pop out to make fun of people as needed.
>Backpack Lalafell that sleeps in your bag and calls people c**t's while you are trying to talk
>She also fully expects you to feed her, give her headpats, let her sleep on your chest and sometimes do perverse things to her.
soon
