The only things new on it are the snowy sections north, Mideel and Weapon fights. They delayed Condor, Wutai and Rocket Town for good reason.

In one timeline only. There are at least 5 other Biggs-is-alive timelines, including the one with Zack outside the church. This timeline takes place before Biggs gets shot and this Zack ends up merging worlds with Cloud. Corgi Biggs likely gets sucked up into the confluence and spit back out into Beagle like Zack did in the final scene.

Biggs, Jessie, and Wedge all died in Beagle. But Beagle Biggs gets isekai'd into Terrier with full memories of Beagle. If Biggs is fine, theres a huge chance that Jessie and Wedge got isekai'd elsewhere.

Remember Wedge got pushed in the ending when the others were fighting the Arbiter of Fate. When they entered the portal, they entered a parallel universe. The world they fought in became the new beagle world, with a defeated AoF and a dead Wedge. The world they left behind had its own Wedge and it got destroyed by tornado, and the bodies of the party members became lifeless and fell into a coma. Its likely this timeline became terrier given the series of events. Theres also no sign of whispers in terrier so its possible Wedge never fell.

I know I'm being a bit too Doylist about it but it would be narratively odd for the writers to go to such great lengths bringing Zack back to life and giving him his own subplot only for him to end up with some random girl from a PSP game.

They went on like five dates and then in the end she's talking to him about how things aren't what they seem and that now she knows where she stands with him. Serious question, did you play the original game? FFVII is all about subterfuge and playing with audience expectations. This is EXACTLY the kind of thing FFVII does. If you think the Gold Saucer dates in the OG game were just lovey dovey fun stuff you've missed the point. That's the facade. The dates were really about the underlying plot and Cloud's fricked up brain. The same holds true here. What's happening between Cloud and Aerith has always had a double meaning. It is, what Aerith feels for Cloud goes beyond what she felt for Zack. That's why she's questioning everything. And it's been confirmed that Marlene's line towards Zack is from what Aerith told her, not Marlene coming to the conclusion herself.

You can technically play the game with animegay goggles and take it on it's face where all the odd romantic stuff comes off like generic anime melodrama. It's a deconstruction of the mysterious princess cliche that was common in RPGs back in the day. Tifa is attractive but relatively "normal" compared to Aerith. So you figure she's the Lucca of the group and Aerith is the Marle. FFVII was the first RPG for a lot of people so the misdirection didn't work but if you had been playing a lot of RPGs back in the 90s, FFVII was a constant punch in the stomach. Always setting up cliches you'd just take for granted and then taking great joy in pulling the rug out from under you later on.

It lines up tbh. He liked her as a child but nothing happened between them, he fell in love with Aerith, lost her, mourned for 2 years at the minimum, and maybe got together with Tifa later in life. We never got confirmation that they became an item after the ending, they don't even sleep in the same room.
Per Nojima (FF7 10th Aniversary Interview), Aerith had to be given more scenes because she didn't stand out enough. Tifa is the childhood friend and Aerith is the transfer student who leaves quickly. I couldn't find whatever bullshit you wrote about.

The statement about Tifa being created so a girl is by Cloud's side after Aerith dies comes from one of the early creation drafts. It was posted in a thread about a month ago, I'll go through the archive and find it eventually.
It's never been mentioned here, but the bottom scene was a really nice addition. These two locations are where they spent time with the person they used to like when younger. Now that they've met and discovered each other, they're ready to move forward from their past together. Old memories being replaced by new ones with a new person. Also it's funny how Cloud is already jealous at this point in this game, he's down horrendously.

Seeing Tifa snaps Cloud out of his purely vegetative state before the start of the game. Tifa getting him work with Avalanche helps her keep an eye on him. Tifa stays to care for him when he's mako poisoned in Mideel. Tifa is the only one alive from Nibelhiem that can not only help piece his mind and memories together but can also prove he's not a clone/puppet/shadow of Sephiroth and she brings his true self back.
Aerith's burial pool is deeper than most Aerithgay's understanding of this story.

That whole subplot is a bit wonky. It's unclear how much of a willing participant Lucretia was. I wonder if the original intent was that Vincent was Sephiroth's father and Lucretia let Hojo frick around with the fetus only for them to change it later on to Hojo fathering him.
The original intent was that Vincent -was- Sephiroth, who was siblings (at the time) with Tifa (who would later be split off to become Aerith, though they kept the siblings part for a bit which is why their haor is similar). This is also why Vincent and Tifa look like siblings.

FFVII definitely stands out as one of the best ensemble RPGs. The supporting cast and subplots carry a ton of water to help make the world feel real. The existence of the Turks, for example, make you feel like the world has moving parts that are still active even when they're not directly on screen or central to what's happening. You feel like Shinra is an actual fully fleshed out corporation, not just some antagonistic facade that exists only to be in your way like a generic evil empire.

Seeing as part 2 just finished on Disk 1 of the original game, I can definitely see the money cluchers at SE and Sony releasing Final Fantasy VII ReVision Part 1, and part 2.
There was so much content on Disk 2 of VII that there is no way they don't try to cash in on releasing the 'final act' split up.
Disc 2 was north crater and padded out sections for several locations already visited.

Disk 2 was first visit to North creator, Junon Weapon attack, finding moronic Cloud, Huge materia hunt, Cloud memories deep dive, fighting against the weapons, Rocket Town launch, revisit to Midgar, then finally heading to North Creator.
its less content than disc 1, but part 2 was smart to save wutai/mideel for part 3 so it will be pretty much the same amount of stuff
Junon is a revisit with a handful of new screens, entire huge materia hunt is revisits, Forgotten Capital is a revisit, Midgar is a revisit, Rocket Town is a revisit
The only things new on it are the snowy sections north, Mideel and Weapon fights. They delayed Condor, Wutai and Rocket Town for good reason.

In one timeline only. There are at least 5 other Biggs-is-alive timelines, including the one with Zack outside the church. This timeline takes place before Biggs gets shot and this Zack ends up merging worlds with Cloud. Corgi Biggs likely gets sucked up into the confluence and spit back out into Beagle like Zack did in the final scene.
Biggs, Jessie, and Wedge all died in Beagle. But Beagle Biggs gets isekai'd into Terrier with full memories of Beagle. If Biggs is fine, theres a huge chance that Jessie and Wedge got isekai'd elsewhere.
I think the cosmo canyon side quest makes it pretty clear wedge is dead across all worlds. the time jannies managed to push him out of the shinra elevator
Not entirely. It just confirms hes dead in Beagle, like Jessie and Biggs. We now know Biggs is alive in Terrier and its branches.
Remember Wedge got pushed in the ending when the others were fighting the Arbiter of Fate. When they entered the portal, they entered a parallel universe. The world they fought in became the new beagle world, with a defeated AoF and a dead Wedge. The world they left behind had its own Wedge and it got destroyed by tornado, and the bodies of the party members became lifeless and fell into a coma. Its likely this timeline became terrier given the series of events. Theres also no sign of whispers in terrier so its possible Wedge never fell.
Or he just got isekai'd like Biggs regardless.

I would literally put money that Cloud and Aerith don't end up together in the end of part 3. I think it's an actual sure thing and can't believe this is even debatable. Even a rudimentary understanding of plot structure and writing conventions would lead you to the same conclusion. It would actually be narratively strange if they end up together given all the subtext we've seen.
Here's what I will say. If Cloud and Aerith DO end up together, it would be further intentional subterfuge. A double twist, so to speak. Which I will admit is POSSIBLE given the nature of the trilogy. But it's certainly not currently being set up that way. Part 3 may change that.

FFVII definitely stands out as one of the best ensemble RPGs. The supporting cast and subplots carry a ton of water to help make the world feel real. The existence of the Turks, for example, make you feel like the world has moving parts that are still active even when they're not directly on screen or central to what's happening. You feel like Shinra is an actual fully fleshed out corporation, not just some antagonistic facade that exists only to be in your way like a generic evil empire.
