That sounds like an exaggeration until you realize he means remaking it HIS way.
I don’t see how you can misunderstand this. It doesn’t have to have a seamless open world. There are always going to be limitations and cut corners. The issue is that in a Kitase game you can expect a disproportionate amount of resources dedicated solely to graphical fidelity. FFVIIR has you run down hallways and go through a million walking segments where the game loads shit because the PS4 would fricking explode if the game was even slightly more open with that level of detail. Even then, no other game made the PS4 fan as loud in my experience.
