>FFVII is literally the best selling game in the entire franchise
>Fans have literally been waiting for a remake of the game since the launch of the PS3
>'The concept of an FFVII remake is used as SE's secret ace for nearly 3 console generations
>FFVII Remake is finally made
>It's literally only the first half of the first disk
>Surprise! the ending of the a Sephiroth fight and the promise that the story will be different now!
>Part 2 of FFVIIR is annoucned

Are FFVII Fans the biggest fricking simps in all of gaming?

Don’t really care. I played the original on PSX since I’m not a zoomer gay. Jessie should be alive. Aeris should live. Tifa should live. Yuffie should live. Cloud should have a harem ending where he has sex with all of them in his mansion at Costa Del Sol. This is how you do good writing in video games
Tifa should have a big disfiguring scar on her breasts from being cut down by Sephiroth.
This. I have played the OG FF7 to death and in such a garbage shitty world where I've become a cynical c**t, I'm glad the remake is going to potentially give us a happier ending for everyone.
Sad children who can't cope with reality. Jessie died. Aerith died. Deal with it.
>Sad children who can't cope with reality
Ironic considering the reason I hope they live is because FF7 is a fricking form of entertainment that people play to take a break from dealing with actual reality where we watch loved ones die for real and could use a fricking break. I think you're the child anon.
>simpering manchild can't even deal with a fictional character dying
Grow up.
>projecting homosexual making things up for unknown reasons
What are you even seething about you brainlet. You're buttmad that in a remake that's changing how the original story plays out that people want characters they like to not die for a change? Legit weird freak.
>Aeris' death was the fricking lynchpin of games being taken seriously in the 90s
>modern FF7 fans want it retconned because it makes them said that their waifu dies
Damn; it wasn't the politicizing of video games that ruined "Video Games Are Art"; it was braindead zoomers who want all "entertainment" to be happy escapism.
>Aeris' death was the fricking lynchpin of games being taken seriously in the 90s
Holy kek, anon you're literally worse than a zoomer by thinking Aeris' death is that big a deal 25+ years later. Remake is NOT the OG, it is not a retcon you dumb frick. PS Aeris' death was never actually sad it was almost clown tier.
Coward.
I'm really glad I was intelligent and capable enough to understand that final fantasy 7 was garbage all the way back in the year 2001. Grown adults liking that game should bar them from being allowed on the internet
It's not a remake of the original, its a prequal to advent children.
that's the saddest cope I think I've ever seen
I loathe this idea because it canonized the fact that the entire series now revolves around Sephiroth. All of causality now revolves around killing this one guy. Cloud will never have his hero's rest.
I can see honestly Sephiroth finding redemption at some point during this remake trilogy. Aeris is basically Jesus with a vegana and itsclear she's aware on some level of the fact she became one with the lifestream/struggled with Sephiroth in some other timeline or dimension. With Genesis most likely being brought into the picture it's very possible things will change.
>Aeris is basically Jesus with a vegana and itsclear she's aware on some level of the fact she became one with the lifestream/struggled with Sephiroth in some other timeline or dimension.
I hate this idea too. Jesus very expressly came to Earth with a mission. By the time the end of the mission was approaching, Jesus became outwardly afraid because by that point it'd been 33 years and attachments had formed even if Jesus was willing to see the mission through to the end. But Aeris very pointedly was not Jesus. She wasn't a chosen one, she was connected to an ancient race that could speak with the Planet but she made the choice to save it on her own. Because she wanted to. She did not go to the Forgotten City to die. Tifa even shoots this idea down when discussing her on the Highwind
>Cloud
>I'm sure she wanted to give her life for the planet...
>Tifa
>Really? I wonder? I don't think that's it at all.
>I think she didn't think she would die at all, but that she planned on coming back all along.
>She always used to talk about the 'Next time'.
>She talked about the future more than any of us...
>Although she never talked about it to us she must've had a rough life...
>I think Aeris looked forward to tomorrow and the future more than anyone...
>...she must've had many many dreams......
So to suddenly turn around and say "ACTUALLY AERIS IS JESUS" feels like someone at SE didn't get it. Aeris's death was a tragedy because outside of get lineage she was a normal woman who wanted to do good and had her future stolen from her by a cruel man
Anon, I don't mean she was literally female Jesus, just that she's clearly playing the role of saviour. Square have also shown they're familiar with the idea of a Sin Eater and from in the Lifestream novels she kind of plays that role by trying to heal the hatred of those who enter the lifestream.
Boom in the shot, top left
>Advent Children
I'm tired of those FFVII fart-sniffing FFVII orbiters watching FFVII Advent Children over and over and over again.
I'd rather watch The Spirits Within.
It's not a real classic remake of the original though, it's more like a sequel/a wrap up of FFVII and its entire compilation through a trilogy. The title of the first game had two meanings, one of them is the obvious "we're doing a remake of FFVII" bait but the real meaning is that Sephiroth remade their world through the events of the Singularity (and we'll know the full ramifications of it by the end of the trilogy, way too early to judge). The second game is called FFVII Rebirth, not FFVII Remake Part 2 or some shit.
The reason a lot of people are accepting it is because we'll be visiting 100% of the same locations while doing like 90% of its plot lines as confirmed numerous times by the devs and seen in the recent trailer, that's more than good enough. If they wanna add new mysteries/twists along the way while we revisit Gaia then I'm more than willing to compromise and see what they give us because I'm already getting what I wanted. Going into a new game not knowing 100% what's going to happen is a great feeling too.
"It's literally going to completely drop the plot of FFVII" is complete bullshit, Rebirth is already confirmed to have the Kalm flashback, the mythril caves encounter with Elena (+ a fight with the Turks there that should've honestly been there in the original in the first place, great addition), Bugenhagen's lifestream sequence in the observatory, Sephiroth manipulating Cloud's perception of the Nibelheim incident, the Jenova battle on the cargo ship to Costa Del Sol, the Reunion, etc.
Most of that trailer is "oh that's this scene from the original" plastered everywhere, you have to be moronic to not notice and pretend Rebirth's dropping the original's beats.
"t-they said the unknown journey continues, that means we won't be getting things like the Weapons, Cloud's lifestream sequence, Rufus' inauguration celebration at Junon, etc.!!!"
moron
see
At the end of the day, FFVII fans are still going to pay several hundred dollars for something that's explicitly NOT a remake. You don't really believe they're going to do the entire story of the original AND THEN SOME in just two games when they just barely did 1/6th in the supposed trilogy's first disk, right? You know that the last disk is going to full Eva 3.33 and have nothing to do with the original.
>"It's literally going to completely drop the plot of FFVII"
i nearly believe that was going to be the case and the negative reaction VIIR got changed it.
>Most of that trailer is "oh that's this scene from the original" plastered everywhere
watch, those beats shown will be the only ones kept.
i'm calling it now. they're cutting cait just like they cut red. then, in the alternate timeline where you play as zach (because you're moronic if you think that isn't happening) and everyone is taken out, that's where cait sith comes in so they can try to tie the combat to crisis core's slots. screenshot this.
>It's not a real classic remake of the original though, it's more like a sequel/a wrap up of FFVII and its entire compilation
Ok. That's the problem.
They pulled everyone's leg by waving around the idea of a Remake of 7 for what, 2 decades?
And then they literally released a game called "VII: REMAKE" and marketed it as a remake of VII, and then delivered a fanfiction, which formally reveals itself as such IN THE LAST 2 HOURS OF A 30H GAME.
That's about as nuclear as you can go with a deal breaker.
You don't recover from that. I don't care what else they do.
I was interested in a thing and they delivered a completely different thing, so my interest is now gone. You will never gaslight me into thinking this is anything short of a perfectly appropriate reaction.
Sorry to hear the game raped you, anon.
It's an expected reaction, but hardly an appropriate one if you're a legit fan of the OG who first played it back in 1997, had their fill of it and is now in their late 30s or older.
>Instead of being mad that they were lied to, FFVII lap it up
Anyone with a brain knew this was going to be compilation trash when they announced it was going to have story additions, and anyone with taste checked out immediately because everything FF7 related that isn't the original FF7 is hot liquid shit and only gets worse and worse as they shit out more of it.
So of course the people left are going to lap it up.
>>It's literally only the first half of the first disk
Less than that actually. Part 2 will cover the bulk of disc one.
>Surprise! the ending of the a Sephiroth fight and the promise that the story will be different now!
Sephiroth was definitely overexposed in part 1. The ending boss should have been some Jenova bullshit or something.
>>It's literally going to completely drop the plot of FFVII
of being mad that they were lied to, FFVII lap it up
Nah they're hitting all the big points and will just add compilation shit and Zack timeline stuff to supplement it.
That picture holy kek.
>REMEMBER ME CLOUD
>WHEN I KILLED AERITH
>I TALKED
>JUST
>LIKE
>THIIIIIIIS
Rodger Rabbit was one of the last few 80s movies that tested what kids could handle.
Yeah, they really pushed the boundaries, kek.
A really great movie, and not just because of the BOOBA, that scene with Bugs and Mickey sky-diving got me real good when I rewatched it awhile ago, lol.
they made yuffie playable before red ffs
>>It's literally going to completely drop the plot of FFVII
?????????????????????????????????????
All signs point to it. The fact that Tifa remarks to Aerith that she has no memory of Cloud and that fricking Zack is playable means the plot of the story cannot exist in the state it was before. Cloud's entire delusion hinges on the fact that he believes he was the SOLDIER 1st class that was in Nibelheim. Zack being alive fricks that up before the party ever makes it to the Northern Crater. And Tifa initially going from questioning her own perception of events from 5 years ago, to theorizing that Cloud is some other guy LARPing as Cloud, to understanding that something is severely wrong with Cloud and that he needs to be protected is skipped. Tifa has already determined and told Aerith that she knows for a fact Cloud is lying. I know Tifa keeping her mouth shut is a long standing contrivance that people have argued about for years but I'm very worried how they're going to address it given how they've addressed other things
>The fact that Tifa remarks to Aerith that she has no memory of Cloud
Which is true, and actually a cut scene from the og where both aerith and tifa make a deal on keep an eye on him since both know hes lying.
>and that fricking Zack is playable
Not proven
>Zack being alive fricks that up before the party ever makes it to the Northern Crater
Not proven
>Tifa has already determined and told Aerith that she knows for a fact Cloud is lying. I know Tifa keeping her mouth shut is a long standing contrivance that people have argued about for years but I'm very worried how they're going to address it given how they've addressed other things
Actually they fixed a big plot hole with tifa and aerith silence, and that is cloud is gonna distrust tifa testimony, due to sephiroth playing mind games with him. Its all in line with what sephiroth does, constantly lying to cloud to break him and in the last nibelheim flashback, cloud doesnt know who to trust.
They are not dropping the plot at all. They are adding and reworking stuff but the plot seems to be going just as expected. Nibelheim flashback, myhtril mines, going to junon, learning from bugenhagen in cosmo canyon, learning about the clones and the nature of jenova.
You're assuming the party will even cross paths with Zack before then. Do you forget he was CARRYING CLOUD ffs. He's clearly in an alternate timeline, we probably do things as Zack in his world that will affect the main one.
Because it is the only type of remake out there that does play with the concept of it unlike the hundreds of 1:1 boring remakes nowadays.
>I don't want the Final Fantasy 7 remake to be a remake
Why are FFVII characters so beloved?
Genesis-Chads Won.
I wouldn't care about the FF7 remake of they'd also made a real more faithful remake as well. I know they're making that mobile phone game remake too which is more faithful but that's not quite what I want, plus look at all the footage shows that they've ruined the combat and it's also going to be episodic, so yeah that's not what I want.
Anyone who's still looking forward to anything directed by nomura/toriyama, or worse both of them, is completely deranged
FF7 "fans" bought compilation slop and spent 20 years playing kingdom hearts, they're quite possibly the only fanbase with lower standards than blizzdrones.
>Instead of being mad that they were lied to, FFVII lap it up
Normies lapped it up.
Fans of VII never did. Even the shills at Eurogamer ended their review of the game with "idk about this story direction, this isn't what I wanted".
Nobody liked that move, and hype for part 2 is basically gone for the fans.
The only people who will buy it are the normies who buy every Snoy movie-game that comes out.
>It's literally only the first half of the first disk
Which is like 1/3 of the total script.
I think people forget how dense FF7's Midgar intro was since everything is rapid fire and and tightly packed together in comparison to everything esle.
>I think people forget how dense FF7's Midgar intro was since everything is rapid fire and and tightly packed together in comparison to everything esle.
they took out content from the midgar section and added a lot of random bullshit, extended small parts that were gags for no reason, added hours on hours of just grey hallway sections.
They had this very dense wine and they diluted it with 80% water and now it just tastes like dirty water. There was no reason to do this.
The midgar part is good because it's so tightly packed with events and everything keeps happening , while still retaining its slow moments. The pacing of Disk 1 is probably the think that is most universally praised about the game and so they went in and immediately destroyed that.
That's just inexcusable.
Sage
Anyone who buys remakes is a moronic consoomer anyways, so obviously they'll keep consooming no matter how shit it gets
