remake ruins all of the slow build from the original
seeing a giant snake stuck on a spike isnt going to mean shit after seeing cloud and sephiroth flying through the air slicing buildings in half
its so fricking stupid
>takes over an cosmic space alien that could threaten the entire planet from sheer butthurt that some rent a cop managed to get the drop on him
yeah he's pretty cool regardless of how many annoying fangirls he has, I also liked his characterization in dissidia where he's so above this endless war shit that he spends all of his time trying to figure out how this shit works and only fights because he figures it'll help him reach that goal - this kind of ubermenschen drive for self improvement/knowledge regardless of the consequences is pretty interesting by jrpg villian standards who tend to either believe they're the goodguy, are a mindless evil force or petty tyrants
>Hojo >You see, even if Jenova's body is dismembered, it will eventually become one again. That's what is meant by Jenova's Reunion. >I have been waiting for the Reunion to start. Five years have passed, and now the Clones have begun to return. >I thought the clones would begin to gather at Midgar where Jenova is stored. >But my predictions were not entirely correct. Jenova itself began to move away from the Shinra Building. >But being a genius that I am, I soon figured it out. You see it was all Sephiroth's doing. >Sephiroth is not just content to diffuse his will into the Lifestream; he wants to manipulate the Clones himself.
>Cloud >Yes, that was how it got started.
>Hojo >I wondered where the clones were going, but I was never able to figure it out.
>Cloud >I couldn't figure it out, either.
>Hojo >The one thing that I did know was that Sephiroth was at their final destination.
sephiroth is the one in control. the game makes this clear a half dozen times over. ff7 is one of the most misunderstood games of all time from a combo of a kinda shaky translation, being full of deliberate twists and unreliable narrators and being played by a lot of people who are barely paying attention because they were kids or moronic normies playing a game hyped for the cool graphics. same way people gaslit themselves that cloud angsts the entire game or that aerith is a pure waifu
not only did they not shy away from her spunky street smart personality or how she was into boys besides cloud in the remake, they doubled down on these aspects. there's a reason people joke that she's a prostitute
the remake is pushing for aerith x zack way more then the original game did because they're pandering to crisis core fans while in the OG game it was just a couple lines she drops about a boy she liked that cloud reminds her a lot of - and many of these require that you have aerith in your party when you go to zacks hometown otherwise it's barely in the game at all.
compare this to the airhead she is in kingdom hearts or something

>the remake is pushing for aerith x zack
We don't know yet. The game is not out yet, even though it is still possible.
It's also possible that Zack and Aerith in his timeline are just too busy to care about romance rn with all the shit that's going on.

Bro they went out of their way and made 2/3 of this trilogy’s theme song about Cloud and Aerith’s romance (go listen to the lyrics) and we know how important music is in FF.
Zacky Wacky will probably end up dying yet again where we see Seph use Zanshin on his dumb ass in front of the church where Aerith gives Cloud her white materia.
>sephiroth is the one in control. the game makes this clear a half dozen times over
the game makes it clear the opposite is true half a dozen times over
>Sephiroth was at their final destination.
Because Sephiroth's magical power is necessary to destroy the planet. He's the only one that can use the Black Meteor Materia.
That doesn't mean he's in control; only that he's the keystone to Jenova's plan.
It also doesn't matter if "Sephiroth planned and orchestrated it all, used Jenova's body for his own ends." Frick the Ultimania.
He's doing it all "for Mother."
He got fricking mindbroken in that basement library and gaslit himself into being a good mommy's boy for an alien that isn't actually his mom, he's going to blow up the planet and suck up the lifestream like Jenova would have. Jenova by the way is still fricking alive, her god damn head protecting her little boy all the way up to the final battle. Even when all that's left is a bit of goo in a black box in Advent Children, she's still fricking alive and made another knockoff Sephiroth just like she did throughout Disc 1 of FF7 to bait Cloud.
>Because Sephiroth's magical power is necessary to destroy the planet. He's the only one that can use the Black Meteor Materia.
this isn't a thing. the reason sephiroth is at the northern crater is because he uses the lifestream there as fuel to use the black materia
>>But being a genius that I am, I soon figured it out. You see it was all Sephiroth's doing.
Why should we believe Hojo? What makes his narration more reliable than anyone else? Even if he legitimately claims scientific authority, isn't he evil and conniving? Also pompous? He could be wrong or not saying the truth. We already know he tampered with the library in Shinra Mansion. What, now he's going to give Cloud the real poop?
>Why should we believe Hojo?
because at no point the game ever tries to make you question hojo
that scene isnt ambiguous, its all treated as the truth until the end of the game
Doesn't he lie to Vincent and Lucretia? Doesn't he tamper with the Shinra Mansion library? These are untrustworthy acts. Along with this, his pomposity it is reasonable to doubt him.
shortly after golbez being mind controlled is revealed he also points out that he was only mind controlled because he was evil anyway. the way the mind control works is it can't completely overwrite your personality but just push you in a bad direction.
this is why kain gets mind controlled (he's jealous as frick of cecil) and why zemus doesn't just mind control cecil when he keeps fricking with all his plans (he's 2pure)
for a game from 1991 that has a lot of its storytelling done through gameplay, ff4 is pretty good and there's a reason they keep remaking it
Eh, I wouldn't really say fully evil.
More like he had a lot of darkness/resentment in his heart.
I mean, Kain managed to get mind controlled over basically cuck rage.
Goldez is cool, but just FFIV Goldez doesn't feel like he's above and beyond most villains in the series.
>shortly after golbez being mind controlled is revealed he also points out that he was only mind controlled because he was evil anyway
Both Golbez and Kain backstories were only revealed in the After Years though. Which wasn't a thing until the PSP/Wiiware release.
>people are still alive >plants are still alive >because there's a gambling arena even the economy is still alive >kefka dies and nothing else does because the ending shows things will recover
and golbez could've continued to level cities like he does several times throughout the game because he had the best military in the world at his control + huge personal power including his own special snowflake eidolon + four fiends but he has other shit to do instead and unlike kefka he doesn't die at the end of the game but instead just stops fighting the heroes and then goes his own way
By your logic, pic related is the best villain in the franchise. >Goal 1: Find a worthy opponent, even if you need to tear down nations to do so.
Succeeded >Goal 2: Toughen that opponent up through repeat skirmishes
Succeeded >Goal 3: Have a big awesome duel with that opponent and die
Succeeded >Goal 4: Still somehow alive, find your worthy opponent again.
Succeeded >Goal 5: Have a climactic final battle with no outside interference in a secluded location that nobody else can possibly get involved in, after ensuring your opponent no longer has any distractions and can focus all of their attention on you and your duel.
Succeeded >Goal 6: Die fulfilled, your lust for battle finally satiated.
Succeeded
No other villain succeeded in every single goal they had, because no other villain had goals this simple.
He won hard, because the only way for him to have lost would have been to die old and feeble in bed.
This, Mateus is the 10,000 IQ gigafricker of the franchise that canonically completely fricked his universe to smithereens. Fricking Kefka wishes he blew everything up including the afterlife like he did.
In FF2 the Emperor basically kills everything up to a couple towns left, then he gets murdered by your party and that doesn't stop jack shit. Someone takes over his empire while he's dead and when the party comes to fight that new emperor guy it turns out this whole ass time he was off taking over the damn afterlife and comes back with a bigass army of hell demons and torches the rest of the planet. Then he brings a bigass castle from hell called pandemonium onto the planet and your party goes to murder his ass a second time for revenge. FF2 is legitimately a top tier game story wise, it just has SaGa controls and people are still exceptionally butthurt about it.

No. It is the one good "serious" FF story, but it's not that great, except for a few exceptionally striking scenes, like slaves being shackled to dead slaves.
FFII is great because of its gameplay. When everything that can happen in combat feels amazing, even dying, it's just limitless joy.
Yeah he did, then he sort of fused what was left of it with hell and that was the pandemonium shit. In the DS version, your dead party members have to deal with his shit in heaven again because he highjacked there too being the mega butthole he is.
Neither do a lot of anons, judging from this thread. Bunch of them claiming it's ultimately about Sephiroth, basing it entirely off Advent Children and after shit.
It is ultimately about Sephiroth. He is a man who thinks that the providence of his birth and his capacity to dominate others grants him the right to dismiss and consume the world and human society as he sees fit, and thus ultimately the idea of Shinra taken to its logical extreme. What the FFVII compilation garbage does, is for some reason imply that Sephiroth would have a particular interest in certain people (mostly Cloud) and have extraneous goals beyond consuming the world to enhance his own splendor. Especially considering, in typical Nomura fashion, he tries to inject this IMPLICATION of deeper mystery, without actually having an answer in mind, ultimately leaving his villains (post compilation Sephiroth included) spouting obviously meaningless cryptic bullshit, instead of actually having coherent plans, methodologies, or ideologies.
>Nomura: I sometimes watch videos where people are analyzing or reacting to things I have worked on and see the word “Nomuraism” associated with lines or concepts I didn't even write >Nomura: I see things like “this feels very Nomura to me” being said, and I think to myself “but that literally was not me…” (laughs)

>realizes the world is going to end anyway, masterminds a way to profit on it >creates illusions to frick with the party and the player >we never know if it's really him, to this day, his mind probably fused with Jenova and we don't know for sure >is stylish as frick, hugo boss ww2 inspired clothing >can know frick with the timeline (even in the fight against Jenova, she's full of Time spells) >has /misc/ rants about current humans being the Black folk of the planet (he's also right) >massacres a town full of blacks in R2
I think Sephiroth is pretty solid.
He never was. He used to be a nice guy, then motivated by revenge and betrayal based on lies. >He never learned about his own true mother/father. >He thought he was a Cetra, but he never was. >He thought humans betrayed the Cetra, even though it isn't. >He thought Jenova was a Cetra, even though it was the very thing that destroyed their civilization.
Also >He got yeeted by a Shinra grunt LMAO.
Nah.
Sephirot was never in control of anything, not ever in his life, that's the whole point.
Even when he discovers the truth, it wasn't really it.
If he was indeed in control and all powerful he would know the real truth from the delusion he created.
Sephiroth is just a vehicle that the Jenova cells found to take them anywhere, he was the next best thing after the dead Cetra they inhabited. It's a literal The Thing, the cells even must truly believe that they're "Sephiroth" but they're just an alien being riding a skin to it's ultimate goal.
>Sephiroth is just a vehicle that the Jenova cells found to take them anywhere, he was the next best thing after the dead Cetra they inhabited.
Yep, I like him because he's a tragic character and his face is used for evil, yet he's was just a pawn for his whole life.
The game was rigged from the start.
He has no motivation, the alien cells want to consume and he's led to that, anything else is just bullshit to justify the end goal of the cells.
you make his lore sound better but still what a shitty villian lol people just like him because he is an edgy hot bishonen dude
People like the character yes, Sephiroth IS cool, but people don't understand the "villain" Sephiroth, it's not him, it's just a skinwalker that has his memories and tries to rationalize devouring the planet.
So, he is just nothing more than alien shapeshifter trying to kill (or eat) everyone. Would you think that makes a good villain?
[...]
[...] >FFVII Ultimania Omega: Also noteworthy is Sephiroth's unique case. Until the secret of his birth was known, he had legendary strength of which he was proud, but 5 years ago, he began walking a different road from that of humans. However, he was unwilling to be placed under Jenova's control and became the leader himself, with its actions falling under his control in the end. This fact resulted in Sephiroth gaining a new sense of strength.

Nice control nerd.
What did he do differently than Jenova? He even become a Cthulhu.

I think that makes a good villain because people fall for the theatrics and that's the unimaginable horror of the cosmic being.
It's just a force from the cosmos that is acting through a nice power armor the beings it is trying to devour gave it.
There's no reason, no revenge, just hunger and a tragic character that fell to it.

>Cosmic horror
Seriously? He isn't even frightening.
It might work on Cthulhu novels, but in RPG video game you have access to all these powerful techniques and spells that guarantee you defeating him.
You can't just rely on the horror alone. He has no motivation to latch into. He's just as frightening as a grizzly bear in the middle of the night.

I already said Cthulhu is frightening because it is in a book.
FF7 is an RPG game. It doesn't feel as frightening because you can just beat anything provided you grind. The illusion of fear is easily shattered in this genre.
Even horror games don't work that way (Amnesia series is the only one I know). You don't level up and do all this techniques so that you can punch the ghost in the face.
It was never really confirmed or expanded upon though.
And also if this is true, this makes Sephiroth's history and his own motivation meaningless.
>FFVII Ultimania Omega: Also noteworthy is Sephiroth's unique case. I'm not keen on how this is phrased, but Sephiroth has "legendary strength" because he was injected in the womb with Jenovas cells, his strength is hers. Just like he has silver hair because Jenova does, and weird cat eyes because he's part monster. Without her cells he'd just be another weak science gay like his father Hojo. He has no strength of his own making, so it's kind of moronic to think he could overpower Jenova who is the true form of his own source of strength. That Ultimania always feels like a retcon.
>Hojo >You see, even if Jenova's body is dismembered, it will eventually become one again. That's what is meant by Jenova's Reunion. >I have been waiting for the Reunion to start. if jenova was in control, why did jenova move to sephiroth instead of making sephiroth come to jenova?
>Why did jenova >A Thing alien >Use a body that is alive and strong instead a tubed mummy
Who knows? Jenova isn't the dead Cetra, it's the alien cells, the body matters little.
sephiroth was literally half a person at the time. you don't have to speculate the game literally tells you sephiroth is in control

No he's not, he's just a car. Jenova didn't need to leave the shinra building because she isn't the being there, she's the cells, she left long ago, that's what Hojo is saying you brainlet.

>Jenova itself began to move away >Jenova itself
He's literally talking about the true nature of Jenova, the fricking alien cells moron.
jenova reunion = smaller parts are compelled to move towards the whole, there is objectively more jenova shit around midgar then at the ass end of the fricking planet where the upper half of sephiroth is but all the jenova cells end up going towards the northern crater instead of compiling somewhere else because sephiroth is using it so he can rebuild his fricking body
this is why the last jenova boss you fight is a pushover phase 1 on your way to fighting sephiroth at the end

Not him, but probably because the crator was a place it would have control over and which was full of life-force. They might also not have wanted Shinra to potentially interfere by remaining at literally the very heart of their powerbase.
Has Sephiroth won a single fight against Cloud? A single one? He got punk'd by generic Shinra trooper Cloud and it's all been downhill since. The idea of Sephiroth in Cloud's head is actually more of a fight than Sephiroth himself. And this time around he jobbed to Cloud before Cloud could even get out of Midgar. Sephi is a joke nowadays, he's like if Majima was taking himself seriously.
He wasn't a true SOLDIER, just a failed experiment, but she ducks him up pretty hard anyway throughout the whole story.
It's like he's battling cancer real time, even the final boss.
thats exactly what happens after the temple of the ancients though, cloud starts getting controlled so he throttles aerith while the player mashes buttons to try and stop him, then gives the black materia you just got to sephiroth
Because Jenova has one wing also, and Sephiroth is her genetic puppet of a son. It just represents they are not real angels, more like fallen and corrupt ones.
>try to listen to a podcast discuss yellow paint >immediately wont shut the frick up about sephiroth wanting clouds dick and then says cloud and sephiroth never spoke to each other until advent children
morons... im surrounded by morons. Gay thirsting morons..
jenova's only will is reunion, it's not doing anything other than controlling the brain dead weak willed clones walking around. as long as you have some form of will and ego you can't be controlled, like most soldiers who undergo the jenova cell injections are fine. sephiroth is the only one capable of using jenova's ability, mimic, he has mastery over it. cloud also inherited mimic from the sephiroth cells he was injected with and unknowingly activated it once when tifa found him. nothing is controlling cloud, sephiroth tries to. everything going on with cloud is by his own will, he's not a victim being controlled or tricked. he's just taking coping and self inserting to a whole new level because of the ability he inherited. he doesn't want to remember.
Kino boss fight at least. >Turns into a Thing-like monstrosity >Then turns into a refined but completely alien form.
I imagine Lifeform Hojo is what Jenova will turn its hosts into when not under Sephiroth influence.
That's why I think the idea of Sephiroth not being in control is dumb. Sephiroth uses Jenova's power to realize his god complex. It's pretty clea rjust from the design of Safer Sephiroth. However even before AC outright stated it Sephiroth was definitely carrying on Jenova's instinct of devouring the planets Lifestream even if he rationalized if differently.
I think Hojo is heavily inspired by Nova from Gunnm. He's more or less treated like comic relief even though he does some pretty fricked up stuff and likes to hang around scantily clad b***hes just like Hojo.
Hojo > Sephiroth > Jenova > OG Rufus > Shinra > Scarlet > Compilation Rufus
I'm probably one of the few people on the planet who remotely gives a shit about President Shinra, the story just didn't have the time to waste exploring him as a character. Rufus was fun as a worse version of his father but got weakened as a villain by toxic radiation from the Dindu Beam they fired at the Turks in AC.
I don't think Rufus was ever that bad in the OG
He did kill two weapons, destroy the barrier around the Northern Crater, did everything he could to get rid of Meteor and try to execute two dangerous terrorists
I always assumed that Meteor was borne of the calamity from the sky. As in, materia is the memory of the ancients given shape through the lifestream, it could be that a whole lot of them died after the meteorite carrying Jenova landed and created the crater and never knew what it actually was therein that caused all the death and destruction. Coupled with people dying after being infected with Jenova it's easy to assume the fear, massive amounts of dead souls returning to the planet and the distorted memories caused by Jenova would shape up her weapon to annihilate the planet.
Basically, the black materia has been crafted through Jenova itself, and was found and sealed away by the surviving ancients who also devised Holy as a last ditch effort should everything go breasts up.
That's always been my take on it all, it seemed the only "logical" conclusion but I may well be extremely off base here.
Zack is confirmed playable. Any leaks that say that he's not playable are either partially or fully wrong.
Zack 's intro scene is where the Rebirth title drop happens.
Zack rescues Aerith from being taken by Shinra which is why he leaves Cloud with Kyrie. That's when he springs into action (I guess the Intergrade Church scene has been retconned out or was just a non-canon teaser to get you excited as it doesn't make sense in context anymore)
I like this "no spoiler counts without images" cope because it makes me feel less bad about feeling I HAVE to be in these threads despite the chances of being spoiled are very high
Cope? Every text 'leak' reeks of bullshit. FF16 leakers could back their shit up, so if someone really played/is playing Rebirth, they can do the same.
>sephiroth has his own moveset
Clearly he'll be a party member and just be Cloud's Vergil.
Some eldritch shit will be the actual villain of this story.
imagine if the final boss of the remake trilogy was space-tick Sin and Cloud gets brain damage and becomes Tidus
>Trilogy’s main villain is Jenova >Aerith said in Remake make that “we’ll be changing ourselves” for changing destiny. >Cloud and Aerith dies at the end of part 3 but ends up being reborn as Tidus and Yuna, finally confirming the link between FFVII and FFX >FFX Remake gets announced
It feels like someone at Square is still holding a grudge over that time in 7th gen everyone made fun of JRPGs, and now they're putting all the worst bits of triple-A 7th gen games into FF.
For "Cloud" the meaning is feeling helpless.
For the mayor and the others, i think they didn't shoot because 1. They are just normal people without training, 2. They are afraid, 3. For them, they are standing in front of a God.
It's a space virus. It travels from planet to planet and siphons the planet life force. The Cetra called it The Calamity from The Sky. Jenova uses illusions and manipulation
Because OG’s theme is about loss, and the sick fricks decided to go with the MC’s main love interest.
High chance she lives/gets resurrected in the Remake trilogy tho cause the devs said it’s more focused on the theme of “life” and that they wanna go for a happier ending this time around.
I don't think there was ever any real hype for this, just people who didn't play remake but had it sitting in their libraries and the handful of morons who post the same way everywhere
trailer got me hyped, playing the demo reminded me of the reality of how shit remake was to play and all those problems are back, and they even added new ones.
This is how I felt too. Was having a good time with it until they made you waste time vacuuming for no fricking reason. They did make the combat marginally better, I guess, with the ability to actually hit flying enemies now as melee and the combo attacks but it still just feels awful all around and having to build up the gauge to use magic/items will always be the most moronic design choice for me. Though even with all that, I'd be lying if I said the town burning at the end was done very well.
This is one of those few games where I genuinely WANT to like it, but Square's general incompetence makes it so hard.
I think they've done an amazing job with the main characters, but such a shit job of making a fun game. It really does feel like a chore to go through. A total monkey paw experience.

Not so much in midgar, but within 20 or so hours plenty. The areas aren't just mostly straight corridors, and there's optional areas and characters to recruit.

Hell even in Midgar you get stuff like the ghost train yard which has environmental puzzles leading to areas with chests and materia to collect. In Remake it's just going from one combat arena to the next with nothing of significance in between.

Dude, you've been doing it for 4 years now daily in FF7R threads
You know or you think you know? If you don't want to be spoiled, stop reading here.
At end of the Rebirth Sephiroth kills Aerith. You fight Jenova and then bury Aerith. Sephiroth attacks and it's the final fight. After the fight Sephiroth carries unconscious Cloud away and Turks capture rest of the party. Camera pans to Aerith under water and zooms into her face. She opens her eyes and wakes up in Zack's timeline. The End. The story will continue in the 3rd game
no but any argument no matter how valid is instantly rendered null and void if it's from any of the following:
reddit, twitter, neogaf, resetera, any major outlet (ign, gamespot, you name it)
It's unsure who the dude/tte is, if press or related to press or youtuber or whoever.
What we know for sure is he or she DOES have access to review codes and has played other games early, including FFXVI so it's pretty certain he or she knows what's up and has debunked every text leak as of today and remained silent about the pics which were indirectly confirmed by squeenix by sending their ninjas to cleanse the internet of Tifa's glorious cleavage
So far it seems everyone who's been leaking details is a fricking larper.
It's either that or someone did get it right and nobody else in the know wants to confirm it so either way nobody knows what the frick is happening in this game anyway and it's wild considering it's less than two weeks away. They're running a tight ship that doesn't leak but copies will be out in the wild starting monday the latest so not much longer until we get actual fricking answers.

Can you imagine how there are very high chances we'll see reviews of it than its actual ending. This is insane.
Anonymous
Yeah that's also something to consider. It's not like any reviewer that has a copy is just going to come out and say "this leak is correct".

I just find it wild because one way or another shit ALWAYS leaks, it's really rare for it not to and especially with square enix this is like a fricking record for them hahaha

SE is being very carefullbecause i see games being shipped at least 3 weeks away sometimes, this game is less than 2 weeks away and we havent seen a single normal copy.
Now that you mention it, I don't think he was asked about that one yet. I'll ask and see what he replies to it if anything. I guess no answer will mean it's a genuine leak

Would be interesting to see his response. Honestly I'm not convinced of that leak either, but it stylistically comes the closest to capturing the type of shit Nojima/Nomura usually come up with

Aight I've asked, let's see what happens. If there is no reply from darth something I shall take it as a sign that it is true. I wouldn't be too mad about it either tbh even though it is a cop out on Aerith's death
>Terrible fricked up childhood, born from an ntr cuck relationship, injected with alien dna >mother basically killed herself >father only saw him as an experiment >he was owned by and reared by a big military and energy monopoly company >he was a child soldier >he somehow still remained sane enough to get a few friends and develop some basic morals and etiquette as long as they were not strictly against company policy >became a tall, attractive man who pioneered the metrosexual fashion style >popular among the girls, worshipped as a hero, partially due to propaganda >after learning the truth that he was an alien-human hybrid freak, he didnt go insane like joker-batman marvel avengers tier writing with le funny quips and nonsensical plan >instead he started studying journals and resrarch data to determine just what kind of creature he was >*wrongly* concluded that he was a descendant of the true ancients, that jenova was the last ancient, and that the false ancients killed her and now humanity, which also are outsiders to the planet, are glrrfully raping her and the planet >decides to take back his planet and mother
>mother basically killed herself >decides to take back his planet and mother >*wrongly* concluded
Don't you realize these are pathetic reasons?
Imaging sperging out of a bunch of lies lmao. And he never even learned the truth of any of it.
Sephiroth was never a good villain. His motivations make zero sense unless he actually is completely mindfricked by Jenova.
What was good about him in the OG was the way he was presented, the way the game built up to him.
In the original, he just assumed the role of being the "last ancient" and felt that humans betrayed him. When he dies, he just takes over jenova goal.
In the remake, they made him more like homelander. A living weapon/experiment that always felt alone and always was trying to connect to something (judging by ever crisis portrayal of his youth). Explains better why he takes over jenova role, its the only connection he has and the one he has been trying to get. Its not about being an ancient thing, but addressing hes different and therefore staying truth to his identity.
I'll always like Zack because of how much he makes Cloud self inserters seethe and dilate, not to mention these morons still haven't realized the reason they brought Zack back, the seething when they realize it will be glorious.
Where did all the Sephiroth "clones" get matching cloaks. In the original you could just assume they grabbed any black sheets and rages to emulate sephiroth but in the remake they all have like fitted robes with a matching design on the hood.
Just beat the first game. I enjoyed it but what the frick were they thinking with the Motorcycle boss fight? Shit was gay and lame. Did anyone actually enjoy that shit?
They were thinking this can't be the final boss, lets make it an annoying fight at the end of the motorcycle sequence and shove Sephiroth in as the final boss.
He's the Emerald WEAPON of FFVIIR on Hard Mode (if you want to count just battles exclusively, then it's Eligor). The only time I ever got genuinely angry at this game.
Not really, if you mean is he a complex villain. For a game like FF7 he’s a good villain because the story is so black and white, but objectively he’s just some really strong paranoid schizophrenic with mommy issues.
This is just gonna be some lame shit like they went to check the job board and thirsty girl says it's a date because she's trying to be a manic pixie dream girl, but Cloud finds it off putting.
Because she loves him, more than anyone, and in a way pure than anyone else
The game story happens in just 2 months, and in 1 month she changes Cloud life forever, she's the one that makes him open himself to other people, Tifa is just a narcisist yandere who envies her
I know Rude has a crush on her but Reno x Tifa is nice even though they barely interact. I like their contrasting personalities, their red and black designs and seeing Reno teasing her would be adorable and hilarious. I think in actuality she'd hate him though.
True but I mean interacting more than that. Surely she'd have some issue with him being a turk and being the one to drop the plate, she seemed really distraught over that both in OG but even more so in Remake.
i'm not a shipper, i hate those things, i just say the things as they are, or you dont remember the scene on the train cementery already? the moment Aerith gets close to Cloud, she runs to do the same, and in this scene in Kalm is the same, again feeling that envy, she's pathetic and a fricking liar who keeps Cloud under a lie about himself and his past, thats what fricks up with Cloud mind, that's why sephiroth uses that against him, because she's a fricking butthole
She also knew that Cloud wasn't the person he claimed to be, and only cryptically told him as such before she dissapeared.
None of the women in Cloud's life tried to break him from his self-destructive delusions.
There is a big difference, Aerith might know he is faking his persona because she's deeply aware and intuitive, but even if she knows there is not much she can do because she doesnt know the real events of what happened in nibel. So she would just break him.
Tifa is the one that needs to reach out and communicate about how and why his story is weird, but again, at least they're making Tifa talk with Aerith about it this time.
The lifestream scene will probably be a group effort this time
It was always strange how in the og tifa and cloud just drop in a lake and then suddenly she's in his mind????? I feel like this time Aerith will take a big part in how Tifa does that.
Since Tifa falls into the lifestream in Rebirth, it'd be interesting to get Aerith's perspective on that and how Tifa having dealt with it before will change how she deals with falling into it with Cloud a second time.
Man i'm really curious about if they will have balls to kill aerith. Having a third game like AC where we never see her but feel her around us would be kinda peak.

I'm afraid they don't.

I'm kinda open minded about her fate, i think making her survive or die doesnt matters much for me, i care more about the execution of it. But if they kill her, i would like them dealing with it that way.

>I'm kinda open minded about her fate, i think making her survive or die doesnt matters much for me, i care more about the execution of it.
This is the right take, at this point even if she dies that can still be fricked up. Some of those "leaks" are the perfect example of that.

>Man i'm really curious about if they will have balls to kill aerith. Having a third game like AC where we never see her but feel her around us would be kinda peak.
That's why every leak about "zack watches her die" sounds like garbage because a core element of FF7 is the impact her death has on him, you just cant trade it for anyone else. It wont hit the same.
>The lifestream scene will probably be a group effort this time >It was always strange how in the og tifa and cloud just drop in a lake and then suddenly she's in his mind????? I feel like this time Aerith will take a big part in how Tifa does that.
It would also be a good tie in with Aerith's resolution of "i'm trying to find you"
She would find ways to breach his mind and send Tifa there.
>The lifestream scene will probably be a group effort this time >It was always strange how in the og tifa and cloud just drop in a lake and then suddenly she's in his mind????? I feel like this time Aerith will take a big part in how Tifa does that.
Believable, how that happen in the og always felt too sudden and without any real explanation.
Are you a moron? even in the og game they talk about how something is protecting cloud in mideel, a type of angel. Aerith helping Tifa there is not unrealistic, even more whe Tifa from nowhere is just imune to lifestream.
I think they're going to make Tifa be more proactive with trying to help Cloud in Rebirth compared to the OG.
The question is if Aerith will be able to help or not.
If Cloud had not gone to Midgar, then Sephiroth would never have initiated his plans. Cloud seeing the headless Jenova corpse was the spark to whole meteor plot.
What? no, man. Cloud was fricked from the point he was sent to nibel, he is just unlucky as frick. Everything past that point, all his suffering, never was his fault.
It is hilarious how Cloud suffered the most but he never did much to deserve it, even Zack was a war criminal and did plenty of shit. Cloud just had a terrible life.
Cloud spend most of his young years as a child soldier, suffered insane amount of trauma, then got experimented for 5 years with planet and alien juice to the point he becomes a legit schizo and the guy askes why he isnt happy
Zack in the OG was not some seasoned SOLDIER, he was acting like some rookie who was exited in using some new materia
It kind of brings into question how one even becomes a 1st class, but he might have just been super talented and given the rank immediately after graduation.
CC makes a giant plot hole with the dissolvement of SOLDIER at the end, when they are still active in the OG game.
Funny how the devs of CC fell into the SOLDIER hype, when the OG game warned the audience about it, and how it fricked up Cloud in the end.

I liked the idea where SOLDIER is like an outdated project, where the cost isnt worth it anymore. So Zack being promoted because all of the top ones died so he failed upwards is interesting. Even Zack would be cut off sooner or later. I wonder if they'll touch more on it in the remake series.

At the end of the day the top ones will always be angeal, genesis and sephiroth. Everyone else follows bureaucratic decisions.
Even Roche is only 3rd class because he prefers to ride his motorcycle than be promoted and do other things. He's at least a 2nd class in skill.
I'm not blaming Cloud for what happened, just that Sephiroth's plans relied on someone like Cloud to become the delivery boy.
The other Sephiroth clones were not up to snuff for the job.
But i think regardless of Cloud going directly to midgar or not, things wouldnt've changed because he was already a sephiroth clone. The reunion would bring him to the shinra tower sooner or later, just like the other ones. Everything was out of his control, in a way he going by himself was the best route because Tifa and Aerith met him there.
This gets me because Tifa's major developments don't happen until after Aeritg dies. If they're really going to kill her again, and they've artificially inflated Tifa's scenes early to appease shippers, it will cause a huge imbalance in part three.
>That's why i'm curious about how they will balance Aerith's date, if Tifa gets a kiss, what Aerith will get...
That's what makes me go hmm about that leak. Somehow everyone's date is the same but Tifa was the one who was enhanced 10x, where is the balance that devs talk so much about?
He's very careful not to mention this in light of shipping. So this can easily mean that if Aerith gets gaia messiah scenes, Tifa can get the kiss and both will be equally important. It's only shippergays who think that character importance begins and ends with shipping.
While i totally agree, in the specific case of Gold Saucer date, it is an event where true balance needs to happen, players need to be happy regardless of which one of them they choose there. They cant feel like they picked the wrong option or that their choice was the one devs didnt care about.
A scene can still be good without romance or a kiss. Player chooses Barret and Yuffie as well, but there won't be romance there. I think Aerith date is aiming for poignant and sad.
>While i totally agree, in the specific case of Gold Saucer date, it is an event where true balance needs to happen, players need to be happy regardless of which one of them they choose there. They cant feel like they picked the wrong option or that their choice was the one devs didnt care about.
This. The fact they made Tifa and Cloud's kiss optional tells a lot about how they're aproaching these relationships.
That kiss is an itnteresting scenario, because at first everyone is happy, but after thinking further it is a bit of "wait, why is it missable?"
Are we doing a The Witcher 3 here?
While his answer isnt related to shipping, because they never talk directly about it, the question kinda was. So he had absolute idea of what was the intent behind that question.
Aerith is just more important to the plot that Tifa is. Tifa’s major moments in the plot don’t happen until the crater, so most of her new moments in the remake have been shipping related. They should have expanded of stuff like her training with Zangan and her membership in Avalanche, maybe Rebirth has more of that
They are hoping they will get a kiss too, ignoring the only real leak we got that is months old that told us about the GS dates long before the new leaks.
Tifa gets a kiss
Aerith and Yuffie get nothing
Tifa is the woman Cloud loves, and is the only one that knows who he really is.
Aerith is not the woman Cloud loves, and only knows the man who is hijacking the personality of her "dead" boyfriend.
In the original sure, in the new ones no.
>people still using my shitty gif from 5 years ago
>people using one of my shitty Tifa reaction faces from 4 years ago

seeing a giant snake stuck on a spike isnt going to mean shit after seeing cloud and sephiroth flying through the air slicing buildings in half

begging for a gay club with strippers this hot. it's always dad bods, or big muscle chads.
JUST FRICK ALREADY!
>takes over an cosmic space alien that could threaten the entire planet from sheer butthurt that some rent a cop managed to get the drop on him
yeah he's pretty cool regardless of how many annoying fangirls he has, I also liked his characterization in dissidia where he's so above this endless war shit that he spends all of his time trying to figure out how this shit works and only fights because he figures it'll help him reach that goal - this kind of ubermenschen drive for self improvement/knowledge regardless of the consequences is pretty interesting by jrpg villian standards who tend to either believe they're the goodguy, are a mindless evil force or petty tyrants
Hojo and Jenova are the villains.
Sephiroth is pure rule of cool to put a face to.
>sephiroth is just a puppet for jenova-CK
>Hojo
>You see, even if Jenova's body is dismembered, it will eventually become one again.
>Cloud
>Yes, that was how it got started.
>Hojo
>I wondered where the clones were going, but I was never able to figure it out.
>Cloud
>I couldn't figure it out, either.
>Hojo
>The one thing that I did know was that Sephiroth was at their final destination.
sephiroth is the one in control. the game makes this clear a half dozen times over. ff7 is one of the most misunderstood games of all time from a combo of a kinda shaky translation, being full of deliberate twists and unreliable narrators and being played by a lot of people who are barely paying attention because they were kids or moronic normies playing a game hyped for the cool graphics. same way people gaslit themselves that cloud angsts the entire game or that aerith is a pure waifu
>or that aerith is a pure waifu
She is.
not only did they not shy away from her spunky street smart personality or how she was into boys besides cloud in the remake, they doubled down on these aspects. there's a reason people joke that she's a prostitute
Yeah because she sells flowers on the street. Nothing to do with her personality
>or how she was into boys besides cloud in the remake, they doubled down on these aspects
the remake is pushing for aerith x zack way more then the original game did because they're pandering to crisis core fans while in the OG game it was just a couple lines she drops about a boy she liked that cloud reminds her a lot of - and many of these require that you have aerith in your party when you go to zacks hometown otherwise it's barely in the game at all.
compare this to the airhead she is in kingdom hearts or something
>the remake is pushing for aerith x zack
We don't know yet. The game is not out yet, even though it is still possible.
It's also possible that Zack and Aerith in his timeline are just too busy to care about romance rn with all the shit that's going on.
Bro they went out of their way and made 2/3 of this trilogy’s theme song about Cloud and Aerith’s romance (go listen to the lyrics) and we know how important music is in FF.
Zacky Wacky will probably end up dying yet again where we see Seph use Zanshin on his dumb ass in front of the church where Aerith gives Cloud her white materia.
So you think being pure means not being street smart and teaseful?
>sephiroth is the one in control. the game makes this clear a half dozen times over
the game makes it clear the opposite is true half a dozen times over
I literally just posted the game saying that sephiroth is in control
He's the only one that can use the Black Meteor Materia.
this isn't a thing. the reason sephiroth is at the northern crater is because he uses the lifestream there as fuel to use the black materia
fanfic autism kys you secondary
It's also literally stated in Ultimania multiple times but westoids are moronic.
Along with this, his pomposity it is reasonable to doubt him.
golbez, sephiroth and jecht are the only good FF villians
>Golbez
>Literally spends the entire game mind controlled by an aylmao
Dissidia Goldez is cool through.
shortly after golbez being mind controlled is revealed he also points out that he was only mind controlled because he was evil anyway. the way the mind control works is it can't completely overwrite your personality but just push you in a bad direction.
this is why kain gets mind controlled (he's jealous as frick of cecil) and why zemus doesn't just mind control cecil when he keeps fricking with all his plans (he's 2pure)
for a game from 1991 that has a lot of its storytelling done through gameplay, ff4 is pretty good and there's a reason they keep remaking it
Eh, I wouldn't really say fully evil.
Which wasn't a thing until the PSP/Wiiware release.
kefka because he wins, not because of his homosexual clown personality tho
>people are still alive
>plants are still alive
>because there's a gambling arena even the economy is still alive
>kefka dies and nothing else does because the ending shows things will recover
kefka didn't win shit.
He was stalling. WoR was his entire playground as he is descending into more and more insanity.
and golbez could've continued to level cities like he does several times throughout the game because he had the best military in the world at his control + huge personal power including his own special snowflake eidolon + four fiends but he has other shit to do instead and unlike kefka he doesn't die at the end of the game but instead just stops fighting the heroes and then goes his own way
By your logic, pic related is the best villain in the franchise.
>Goal 1: Find a worthy opponent, even if you need to tear down nations to do so.
Succeeded
>Goal 2: Toughen that opponent up through repeat skirmishes
Succeeded
>Goal 3: Have a big awesome duel with that opponent and die
Succeeded
>Goal 4: Still somehow alive, find your worthy opponent again.
Succeeded
>Goal 5: Have a climactic final battle with no outside interference in a secluded location that nobody else can possibly get involved in, after ensuring your opponent no longer has any distractions and can focus all of their attention on you and your duel.
Succeeded
>Goal 6: Die fulfilled, your lust for battle finally satiated.
Succeeded
No other villain succeeded in every single goal they had, because no other villain had goals this simple.
He won hard, because the only way for him to have lost would have been to die old and feeble in bed.
>no Exdeath
into the void with you
Trees are lame.
The Emperor is the biggest fricker even in Dissidia
This, Mateus is the 10,000 IQ gigafricker of the franchise that canonically completely fricked his universe to smithereens. Fricking Kefka wishes he blew everything up including the afterlife like he did.
explain
>FF2 is legitimately a top tier game story wise
No its not I'm about to finish it right now, just shut the frick up with your troony contrarian taste
Dont believe the lies of this homosexual Ganker
What versions to play?
There are so many versions of the early final gaytasy games
weird how I've seen that exact same pic and somehow it's always "I've completed it over and over" or "I'm just about to finish it" and it's been like that for days... sounds (and smells) like someone's talking out of their arse!
>posting copypasta shit
>sperging this fricking hard
go cast swap on some goblins and hornets to level up hp and mp quicker, you fricking lying homosexual, mcfricking kys
No FF had anything that can be called "story" by modern standards until FF4, maybe FF3.
FF2 definitely does wtf, it's not a very good one but still.
>dude your town got massacred
>join the rebellion and kill the emprah
>FF2 is legitimately a top tier game story wise
No. It is the one good "serious" FF story, but it's not that great, except for a few exceptionally striking scenes, like slaves being shackled to dead slaves.
FFII is great because of its gameplay. When everything that can happen in combat feels amazing, even dying, it's just limitless joy.
Did Mateus destroy the whole world? I didn't remember.
Yeah he did, then he sort of fused what was left of it with hell and that was the pandemonium shit. In the DS version, your dead party members have to deal with his shit in heaven again because he highjacked there too being the mega butthole he is.
Jecht isn't a villain.
He was good in the original FFVII but has been dogshit ever since, because Nomura literally does not understand the character.
>Nomura: I sometimes watch videos where people are analyzing or reacting to things I have worked on and see the word “Nomuraism” associated with lines or concepts I didn't even write
>Nomura: I see things like “this feels very Nomura to me” being said, and I think to myself “but that literally was not me…” (laughs)
https://automaton-media.com/articles/interviewsjp/20240207-281697/
He's a lying homosexual who throws his superior peers under the bus. The Yuji Naka of Square.
Whatever helps you cope.

I think Sephiroth is pretty solid.

for frick sake, jumping into that shit when going to the shinra building was always a slog as a kid
oh is the yellow paint able to be turned off like the indicators are?
They said they HAD to add yellow paints because playtesters these days were so moronic, most of them end up not knowing where to go
There needs to be an 'I'm not a moron' option to disable this insulting stuff. Or maybe on hard difficulties it just goes away

Cloud and Tifa? Cute and canon
Tifa is canon for all adult men in Sector 7.
Stop being jealous Jessie
Cloudcucks dont look
Leaked gameplay
This will cut btw
It will still be in, but it will be overplayed with other stuff besides slapping including QTE wrasslin
It will be in, but they'll change it to a straightforward fight where Scarlet gets power armour and you have to play as Tifa.
He was cool in FF7 and sucks dick in anything else
OG Sephiroth was. nu-Seph is just a fricking sex pest.
To be fair he is talking about Cloud, but he does come across as more desperate instead of domineering.
He’s the best villain
Ganker is a Sephiroth board and always has been
cucked
My uncanny doll wife Aerith
If you understand what he is then yes.
He's just the Jenova cells fricking with Cloud, a purpose so he can follow her every command.
Sorry bud but, Sephiroth controls Jenova.
The game was rigged from the start.
you make his lore sound better but still what a shitty villian lol people just like him because he is an edgy hot bishonen dude
It was never really confirmed or expanded upon though.
And also if this is true, this makes Sephiroth's history and his own motivation meaningless.
He has no motivation, the alien cells want to consume and he's led to that, anything else is just bullshit to justify the end goal of the cells.
This
What did he do differently than Jenova?
>Seriously? He isn't even frightening.
You should look at the jenova bosses, I bet hell look like fricking shit on his final form as well.
>FFVII Ultimania Omega: Also noteworthy is Sephiroth's unique case.
>Took control
>Acts are all in favor of the exact same thing the alien wanted, but with extra steps and meaningless philosophy
Nice control nerd.
>but with extra steps
because sephiroth isn't doing exactly what jenova wants you dumbass
I'm not keen on how this is phrased, but Sephiroth has "legendary strength" because he was injected in the womb with Jenovas cells, his strength is hers. Just like he has silver hair because Jenova does, and weird cat eyes because he's part monster. Without her cells he'd just be another weak science gay like his father Hojo. He has no strength of his own making, so it's kind of moronic to think he could overpower Jenova who is the true form of his own source of strength. That Ultimania always feels like a retcon.
read
if jenova was in control, why did jenova move to sephiroth instead of making sephiroth come to jenova?
>Why did jenova
>A Thing alien
>Use a body that is alive and strong instead a tubed mummy
Who knows? Jenova isn't the dead Cetra, it's the alien cells, the body matters little.
sephiroth was literally half a person at the time. you don't have to speculate the game literally tells you sephiroth is in control
>But being a genius that I am, I soon figured it out. You see it was all Sephiroth's doing.
No he's not, he's just a car. Jenova didn't need to leave the shinra building because she isn't the being there, she's the cells, she left long ago, that's what Hojo is saying you brainlet.
jenova reunion = smaller parts are compelled to move towards the whole, there is objectively more jenova shit around midgar then at the ass end of the fricking planet where the upper half of sephiroth is but all the jenova cells end up going towards the northern crater instead of compiling somewhere else because sephiroth is using it so he can rebuild his fricking body
this is why the last jenova boss you fight is a pushover phase 1 on your way to fighting sephiroth at the end
>No he's not
Yes he is. The devs even say he is so why cope?
>Jenova itself began to move away
>Jenova itself
He's literally talking about the true nature of Jenova, the fricking alien cells moron.
Not him, but probably because the crator was a place it would have control over and which was full of life-force. They might also not have wanted Shinra to potentially interfere by remaining at literally the very heart of their powerbase.
No Claudia it's just the northern lights
ULTIMA IN NIBBLEHEIMHEIM?! THIS HOUSE?! AT THIS FLASHBACK MOMENT?!
Jenova is a more interesting concept than Sephiroth but they'll never expand on her or what she is
reddit fantasy 7: redditbirth
My sides!
So why was he sleeping in a coffin? I used to think that Vincent was a vampire
He can't die and can't cope with getting cucked so he sleeps to escape the pain and atone for his sins.
>coffin
Because he's a dweeb
So he just doesnt age?
his cuckshet
Has Sephiroth won a single fight against Cloud? A single one? He got punk'd by generic Shinra trooper Cloud and it's all been downhill since. The idea of Sephiroth in Cloud's head is actually more of a fight than Sephiroth himself. And this time around he jobbed to Cloud before Cloud could even get out of Midgar. Sephi is a joke nowadays, he's like if Majima was taking himself seriously.
>Has Sephiroth won a single fight against Cloud?
Remake
The only one that counts apparently because he ACKs Cloud like the weak little sissy manlet homosexual he is
>killed his mom
>killed everyone in his hometown
>killed his girl
>goes back in time to do it all again
We all know who the real victor here is
Thats just less gay ff1 garland
why was Jenova not able to control Cloud?
He wasn't a true SOLDIER, just a failed experiment, but she ducks him up pretty hard anyway throughout the whole story.
It's like he's battling cancer real time, even the final boss.
thats exactly what happens after the temple of the ancients though, cloud starts getting controlled so he throttles aerith while the player mashes buttons to try and stop him, then gives the black materia you just got to sephiroth
Because Sephiroth controls jenova.
neat poster
Why does he only have one wing?
Because he believes to be half-god, half-divine by being half Cetra...
Thats silly
He's halfway there, only one wing and a prayer.
A xenogears reference
one winged angel is his theme song
Because Jenova has one wing also, and Sephiroth is her genetic puppet of a son. It just represents they are not real angels, more like fallen and corrupt ones.
>try to listen to a podcast discuss yellow paint
>immediately wont shut the frick up about sephiroth wanting clouds dick and then says cloud and sephiroth never spoke to each other until advent children
morons... im surrounded by morons.
Awesome fanfic brother.
Rate all these villains from best to worst
Sephiroth > Hojo > Jenova > Shrina prez > Rufus (homosexual should've stayed dead btw) > Big breasts mommy. My wife Aerith isn't a villain.
wtf they made jenova hot
It's a shapeshifter
Hojo is disappointing.
He's a mad scientist but he's played as a joke most of the time. It's so rare to see a mad scientist played straight.
Kino boss fight at least.
>Turns into a Thing-like monstrosity
>Then turns into a refined but completely alien form.
One of these is not a villain
Yeah I agree, Scarlet doesn't belong here.
I just like nu rufus bossfight he is like dante gunslinger shit
Why did the Cetra make the black materia? Weren't they supposed to be peaceful?
they didn't make it, the planet provided it without comment

So how that nibel skip will work in the final game if that is true?
Nice pics you got there to back up your shit
I like this "no spoiler counts without images" cope because it makes me feel less bad about feeling I HAVE to be in these threads despite the chances of being spoiled are very high
Cope? Every text 'leak' reeks of bullshit. FF16 leakers could back their shit up, so if someone really played/is playing Rebirth, they can do the same.
Why do you HAVE to be in these threads?
Aerith almost got gangraped in Tactics.
Nomura won. the fact that you are THIS invested in discussing rebirth Is due to the changes
I think no one is even giving a frick about leaks anymore, every day there is a new one, people will only believe with pictures now.
He didn't write the story.
I like the card game. it's like i'm playing a more moronic yugioh
do you think sephiroth will end up being a good guy by the end
Why do people even think this? He's an evil schizo and always will be.
the fact he's playable and all buddy buddy with cloud at the end of remake
>and all buddy buddy with cloud at the end of remake
Don't get how you could possibly interpret him acting bubby bubby with him.
No it it literally isn't.
>literally
he's gonna fight genesis
you're gonna play as him in that fight
mark my fricking words homosexual
Genesis is an ally of the planet so he's gonna be a party member (the new leader after cloud goes full moron probably)
Why didn't genesis help when Sephiroth was gonna frick the planet up?
He was busy writing Loveless fanfics.
you must be moronic
You're a fricking moron if you think they didn't let him be playable for a reason
the fact he's playable is a dead giveaway that he'll turn good by the end of the third game
Did you not play the original? That's a flashback to before sepiroth was crazy and still worked for Shinra.
you don't play him in the original dipshit
he is literally playable in the kalm flashback you gay morons
No he fricking isn't play the game you moron, sephiroth is AI control. You ONLY use cloud you absolute fricking imbecile. Unless you used cheats
have a nice day you fricking moron

>Flashback
Yes.
>PLAYABLE IN FLASHBACK
Literally no lmao
sephiroth is a cool guy in crisis core.
They're bringing back the combo techs from Chrono Trigger, might as well go all the way and pull a Magus with Sephiroth.
I'm tell you that's exactly what they're doing, but this one delusional moron doesn't think it's happening.
Everything its possible with nojima like dying because he handled a fake explosive masamune

Some eldritch shit will be the actual villain of this story.
Sephiroth killed Cloud's mom, anon.
I didn't see him do it
did you see it?
It's OK he will apologize
>Trilogy’s main villain is Jenova
>Aerith said in Remake make that “we’ll be changing ourselves” for changing destiny.
>Cloud and Aerith dies at the end of part 3 but ends up being reborn as Tidus and Yuna, finally confirming the link between FFVII and FFX

Still not canceling my preorder.
It feels like someone at Square is still holding a grudge over that time in 7th gen everyone made fun of JRPGs, and now they're putting all the worst bits of triple-A 7th gen games into FF.
Mr Mayor should we shoot our guns?!
No, I want to see where he's going with this
For "Cloud" the meaning is feeling helpless.
For the mayor and the others, i think they didn't shoot because 1. They are just normal people without training, 2. They are afraid, 3. For them, they are standing in front of a God.
so yeah where the frick did jenova come from though and are there more of her?
She's Ultima's sister.
Anons please. They already ruined FE with this universe nonsense
>He doesn't know
She's a literal alien from outer space
>and are there more of her?
Nobody knows
It's a space virus. It travels from planet to planet and siphons the planet life force. The Cetra called it The Calamity from The Sky. Jenova uses illusions and manipulation
I dunno but have this funny picture of her and Lavos.

what a fricking LOSER
>Dammit Zach why couldn't you give me your good memories

Cloud NO!
that would be hilarious
Then who the frick in Jecht?
Sephiroth
he's now a cumbawd
Doesn't came close to Kefka.
Here's your gamer fuel for Rebirth
I'd eat tifa's cookies.
>Finds out he has alien DNA
>Instantly becomes the bad guy and wants to destroy the planet to become the planet
He's autistic.
>MFW I enjoyed part one and will be enjoying part 2 in a few days.
Why did Aerith have to die?
Because OG’s theme is about loss, and the sick fricks decided to go with the MC’s main love interest.
High chance she lives/gets resurrected in the Remake trilogy tho cause the devs said it’s more focused on the theme of “life” and that they wanna go for a happier ending this time around.
is Jessie a prostitute?
biggest prostitute in all of ff
Is the hype truly dead for this game?
Yes, I'm cancelling my pre-order
yeah the demo sucked
I don't think there was ever any real hype for this, just people who didn't play remake but had it sitting in their libraries and the handful of morons who post the same way everywhere
the demo killed it
Its DOA
Nah, as usual Ganker is overexaggerating and I won’t be surprised when it wins best RPG at the next Game Awards.
>literally the entire game is filler and everything will be decided in Part 3
It sounds moronic enough to be real.
trailer got me hyped, playing the demo reminded me of the reality of how shit remake was to play and all those problems are back, and they even added new ones.
I mean combat alone it's miles better than the og gameplay wise. Much more fun.
Is there anything you feel the remake doesn't succeed at?
exploration is worse than the og though, and forced slow walking and shit is annoying. rebirth should be better about exploration this time at least
>exploration is worse than the og though
...there's exploration in the og?
Yes, the ability to make you like it.
>...there's exploration in the og?
Not so much in midgar, but within 20 or so hours plenty. The areas aren't just mostly straight corridors, and there's optional areas and characters to recruit.
Hell even in Midgar you get stuff like the ghost train yard which has environmental puzzles leading to areas with chests and materia to collect. In Remake it's just going from one combat arena to the next with nothing of significance in between.
If you think remake doesn't have any flaws and you spend all your time responding to its critics to tell them they're wrong then don't act surprised when someone """falseflags""" as you
NTA but why do you falseflag in the first place?
I don't
Dude, you've been doing it for 4 years now daily in FF7R threads
What have I been doing? Specifically
It actually looks good anons.
>looks good
>proceeds to post nearly 30 minutes of unnecessary filler and padding with minimal actual gameplay
Yeah wow, you sure showed me anon.
I know, I just lied about cancelling the pre-order
That's just because 16 year old Cloud was ugly. The Hojo experiments made him more handsome.
That's UE4 fault, it totally depends where the character is looking at, it can look cheap as frick or as good as the 1st video
Lets just say that: Barry won
There shouldn't even have been hype for it in the fist place. Did people not play (or watch) Remake? Or any other SE game since like 2003?
What's wrong with being hyped for Rebirth?
hey
breasts
no one is a good anything in FF7R.
the writing is fricking atrocious. sephiroth is just a sad pathetic gay stalker now.
True. It gets really annoying seeing all the slop chuggers talking about how great the remake is, and how they love the crazy subversions.
I will be playing Rebirth day 1 as I have it pre-ordered and I bought PS5 for it. You losers can watch it from Youtube
im not going to for what i already know Cloud gets cucked instad of aerith.

Sauce?
It's unsure who the dude/tte is, if press or related to press or youtuber or whoever.
What we know for sure is he or she DOES have access to review codes and has played other games early, including FFXVI so it's pretty certain he or she knows what's up and has debunked every text leak as of today and remained silent about the pics which were indirectly confirmed by squeenix by sending their ninjas to cleanse the internet of Tifa's glorious cleavage
Seems like every fricking leak is wrong so it is hilarious.
Yeah that's also something to consider. It's not like any reviewer that has a copy is just going to come out and say "this leak is correct".
I just find it wild because one way or another shit ALWAYS leaks, it's really rare for it not to and especially with square enix this is like a fricking record for them hahaha
SE is being very carefullbecause i see games being shipped at least 3 weeks away sometimes, this game is less than 2 weeks away and we havent seen a single normal copy.
did he debunk the gamefaqs one already?
Now that you mention it, I don't think he was asked about that one yet. I'll ask and see what he replies to it if anything. I guess no answer will mean it's a genuine leak
Would be interesting to see his response. Honestly I'm not convinced of that leak either, but it stylistically comes the closest to capturing the type of shit Nojima/Nomura usually come up with
Aight I've asked, let's see what happens. If there is no reply from darth something I shall take it as a sign that it is true. I wouldn't be too mad about it either tbh even though it is a cop out on Aerith's death
Ask him in private, he does reply to dms
So you dont come back to nibbleheim? Man thats pathetic
They have shown you encountering Vincent in Nibelheim Shinra mansion's basement
Shut up I'm trying to doom
nice try but your criticism has been invalidated
come back and try again tomorrow (you will fail)
never was, he was fujobait from day 1
Iconic villain, and like most iconic things has been commercialized and the original point is long since lost.
is there any chance that Tifa will win Cloud in this game or will it be the next one?
She never wins Cloud, not even in Advent Children
Agreed. Instead Cloud wins Tifa, he is the one interested after all because thats the canon pairing.
likely she does by the 3rd solidly if Cloud returns which im certain he will they cannot leave him dead
If they kill him the third part won't even be a thing.
I think there's a chance of it happening in this game. Though she always had it.
no
Yes he is a good villain.
>Terrible fricked up childhood, born from an ntr cuck relationship, injected with alien dna
>mother basically killed herself
>father only saw him as an experiment
>he was owned by and reared by a big military and energy monopoly company
>he was a child soldier
>he somehow still remained sane enough to get a few friends and develop some basic morals and etiquette as long as they were not strictly against company policy
>became a tall, attractive man who pioneered the metrosexual fashion style
>popular among the girls, worshipped as a hero, partially due to propaganda
>after learning the truth that he was an alien-human hybrid freak, he didnt go insane like joker-batman marvel avengers tier writing with le funny quips and nonsensical plan
>instead he started studying journals and resrarch data to determine just what kind of creature he was
>*wrongly* concluded that he was a descendant of the true ancients, that jenova was the last ancient, and that the false ancients killed her and now humanity, which also are outsiders to the planet, are glrrfully raping her and the planet

>mother basically killed herself
>decides to take back his planet and mother
>*wrongly* concluded
Don't you realize these are pathetic reasons?
Imaging sperging out of a bunch of lies lmao. And he never even learned the truth of any of it.
>Don't you realize these are pathetic reasons?
No, because I am intelligent, unlike you.
go back to sucking dicks
The best villain
Nope he does shit even with the most op power besides play dumbly with cloud
Sephiroth was a good villain downplayed in 97, now he's been downgraded to walking fujobait
1 negative thread
1 pedo thread
I guess this is the remake legacy
Its not about being an ancient thing, but addressing hes different and therefore staying truth to his identity.
why did Tifa not recognize Cloud
Because Cloud was wearing the shinra grunt helmet
Where is Sephiroth's face
I'll do you one better, WHY is Sephiroth's face?
That's how he was born
Tifa didn’t know Cloud was there
yes she did
Play Crisis Core, Cloud kept his helmet cause he didnt want Tifa to know it was him since he didnt make it to 1st class
Margrace you lying bastard you promised us leaks back in june and you have not delivered. Shame on you.
Also might I add
I'll always like Zack because of how much he makes Cloud self inserters seethe and dilate, not to mention these morons still haven't realized the reason they brought Zack back, the seething when they realize it will be glorious.
I don't hate Zack, I hate CC Zack and the writing it brings along with him.
Part 3 reveals Cloud is a woman?
Where did all the Sephiroth "clones" get matching cloaks. In the original you could just assume they grabbed any black sheets and rages to emulate sephiroth but in the remake they all have like fitted robes with a matching design on the hood.
When there’s dumb stuff like that and Hojo is even tangentially involved the answer is Hojo
Sephiroth does knitting in his spare time
Just beat the first game.
Buckle up kiddo
I thought it was ok
But i wanted a proper fight with motorball
Even Aerith's VA didn't like that boss.
Ok but I do like Aerith's VA's ass.
She's my wife
I don’t think she’s married and not to two different people
bump
She's my wife
You can't say this and not post a picture of it.
Very well.
decent enough
She used to be a model too
AWOOOOGA
He's the Emerald WEAPON of FFVIIR on Hard Mode (if you want to count just battles exclusively, then it's Eligor). The only time I ever got genuinely angry at this game.
Not really, if you mean is he a complex villain. For a game like FF7 he’s a good villain because the story is so black and white, but objectively he’s just some really strong paranoid schizophrenic with mommy issues.
Lewd
In the original game he's built up well. His heel turn is fairly nonsensical but you can gloss over it if you want.
Probably one of the most iconic FF theme songs
Why did she do it?
This is just gonna be some lame shit like they went to check the job board and thirsty girl says it's a date because she's trying to be a manic pixie dream girl, but Cloud finds it off putting.
She’s talking about them going up to the bell tower I think
They go up the clock tower in Kalm. Aerith is pretty forward.
Its an actual main story date
Tifagays….
>the anime grunting is back
I'm not... strong enough...
it never left
By the time I played it, it could be modded out.
No hard feelings Aeris sisters
Tifa is Clouds main b***h so she deserves extra love
>but Cloud finds it off putting
he does in the scene, he doesn't want her to call it a date and especially not in front of Tifa
She is dying prease understandu.
Because she loves him, more than anyone, and in a way pure than anyone else
The game story happens in just 2 months, and in 1 month she changes Cloud life forever, she's the one that makes him open himself to other people, Tifa is just a narcisist yandere who envies her
>Tifa is just a narcisist yandere who envies her
Don’t do this, true Clerithchads don’t need to shit on TifaIm not above shipping her with others though
I know Rude has a crush on her but Reno x Tifa is nice even though they barely interact. I like their contrasting personalities, their red and black designs and seeing Reno teasing her would be adorable and hilarious. I think in actuality she'd hate him though.
>I think in actuality she'd hate him though.
They seem to get along in AC
True but I mean interacting more than that. Surely she'd have some issue with him being a turk and being the one to drop the plate, she seemed really distraught over that both in OG but even more so in Remake.
I find it funny Reno/Tifa and Rufus/Tifa are way more popular that the semi canon Rude/Tifa
Probably because Rude is ugly
i'm not a shipper, i hate those things, i just say the things as they are, or you dont remember the scene on the train cementery already? the moment Aerith gets close to Cloud, she runs to do the same, and in this scene in Kalm is the same, again feeling that envy, she's pathetic and a fricking liar who keeps Cloud under a lie about himself and his past, thats what fricks up with Cloud mind, that's why sephiroth uses that against him, because she's a fricking butthole
Well yeah irl it would be a bit too much.
But this is Final Fantasy.
the absolute state
Aerith is my favorite female character of all time at this point but even I thought that wasn't nice of her
BASED Aerith marking her teritory in front of the other b***h
No.
He is not present for the entire game.
reddit fantasy 7: redditbirth
Tifa knew that Cloud's brain was scrambled, and could have said something before Sephiroth sent him over the deep end.
She didn't.
At least they're fixing that plotline and making Aerith help Cloud too now.
She probably knows in this remake. She's getting memories from the future. So is he anyway.
She was scared Cloud would go off the deep end if she told him the truth. And he does.
Cloud does ask her directly a couple times and she deflects or lies about it which is shitty and probably but it’s understandable why she did it.
She's the Sakura of FF7.
Yeah the excuse of "tifa is just imune to the lifestream" is weird too, only sephiroth is like that.
In OG I always assumed that Aerith was protecting both Cloud and Tifa somehow with Cetra shit
That's what i think Remake will do. Idk if Aerith will be alive of dead, but she will protect Tifa at that moment for her to fix Cloud.
I believe the OG does imply it, some NPC says Cloud must have some kind of guardian angel looking after him in Mideel
Man i'm really curious about if they will have balls to kill aerith. Having a third game like AC where we never see her but feel her around us would be kinda peak.
>Man i'm really curious about if they will have balls
>The lifestream scene will probably be a group effort this time
>It was always strange how in the og tifa and cloud just drop in a lake and then suddenly she's in his mind????? I feel like this time Aerith will take a big part in how Tifa does that.
It would also be a good tie in with Aerith's resolution of "i'm trying to find you"
She would find ways to breach his mind and send Tifa there.
>The lifestream scene will probably be a group effort this time
>It was always strange how in the og tifa and cloud just drop in a lake and then suddenly she's in his mind????? I feel like this time Aerith will take a big part in how Tifa does that.
Believable, how that happen in the og always felt too sudden and without any real explanation.
>the most important and intimate scene between Cloud and Tifa
>let's insert my waifu too so that she has something to do intimately
Are you a moron? even in the og game they talk about how something is protecting cloud in mideel, a type of angel. Aerith helping Tifa there is not unrealistic, even more whe Tifa from nowhere is just imune to lifestream.
I think they're going to make Tifa be more proactive with trying to help Cloud in Rebirth compared to the OG.
The question is if Aerith will be able to help or not.
Why is Rude called Rude when he's the most polite Turk.
And now he has an alien psycho that has as his whole existence's job to make him miserable.
That wasn't his goal in the original game.
>Get to bang 2 hot chicks
>Terrible life
>schizophrenia, social moronation and PTSD is a fine tradeoff for 2 chicks that are probably roasted anyway
please explain this rationale
Cloud spend most of his young years as a child soldier, suffered insane amount of trauma, then got experimented for 5 years with planet and alien juice to the point he becomes a legit schizo and the guy askes why he isnt happy
Zack in the OG was not some seasoned SOLDIER, he was acting like some rookie who was exited in using some new materia
It kind of brings into question how one even becomes a 1st class, but he might have just been super talented and given the rank immediately after graduation.
I dont like CC's story but i enjoy the concept where he was promoted only because everyone else died. He had to take up their position.
Rebirth is still doing that, he is moronic as frick and sephiroth even asks how the frick he's a SOLDIER.
I don't think it's a sequel.

Aerith is my favourite cuck in video games.
I can’t wait for the scene where Cait sith reads the fortune and offers to act as a priest for Cloud and Aerith
Catshit can read the fortune, but Reeve must officiate in person.
This shit is hilarious, they know so much.
I hope they give Yuffie some nice quality side content. I hope there's a kiss on our date.
Some guy said that red XIII proposes to kiss cloud in a comical way but Cloud refuses. So i can see the topic of a kiss happening in every one of them
Yuffie is the only one who kisses Cloud in the OG so I can’t see them cutting it
A Yuffie kiss will be so fricking kino. If Square does this (they probably wont), then I will forgive them for everything.
No fricking way modern Square would let Yuffie kiss Cloud. I will eat dog shit if that happens.
I dont think there is an issue if it is platonic. And yuffie has the same mental age as Cloud.
>yuffie has the same mental age as Cloud.
I don't think this holds up in court
old enough for kisses
It’s a cheek kiss, that’s innocent enough.
>we will make sure to extract as much money from Aerithgays before we kill her again
Delightfully devilish, Seymour.
But that's how Aerith's romance is, it is a tragic one, this isnt new.
This gets me because Tifa's major developments don't happen until after Aeritg dies. If they're really going to kill her again, and they've artificially inflated Tifa's scenes early to appease shippers, it will cause a huge imbalance in part three.
Yes i'm really curious about how they will deal with that design in part 3 if Aerith dies. It becomes impossible.
I mean, if she's already dead in part three then there's no more need for balance.
They are deeply aware of shipping, man. They also profit on it a lot.
That's why i'm curious about how they will balance Aerith's date, if Tifa gets a kiss, what Aerith will get...
Spoiler
handshake
wiener
Hamaguchi said it in part 1, they go really hard in the balance between both of them.
Can you imagine a FFX where Tidus and Yuna's kiss was optional? I cannot. What this game is doing is very strange.
I know, exactly what these devs said, true balance.
Cloud and Tifa get together at the end of the game, the fact that they showed a kiss in the middle does say something kek
It's strange, but it tells me there's a lot more going on in the game outside of GS. Weirdly no leaker has talked about any of the relationships.
Because they will be optional
That kiss is an itnteresting scenario, because at first everyone is happy, but after thinking further it is a bit of "wait, why is it missable?"
Are we doing a The Witcher 3 here?
While his answer isnt related to shipping, because they never talk directly about it, the question kinda was. So he had absolute idea of what was the intent behind that question.
Aerith is just more important to the plot that Tifa is. Tifa’s major moments in the plot don’t happen until the crater, so most of her new moments in the remake have been shipping related. They should have expanded of stuff like her training with Zangan and her membership in Avalanche, maybe Rebirth has more of that
test
Aerithbros... Why can't we get just one kiss?
Friendzoned
2lewd4me
We get constant handholding at least
>2 minutes later she asks Cloud to frick Tifa extra hard
>Aeirthgays unironically celebrate this
The Corpse community is in shambles
>Cloud and Tifa strangely posed for kiss
>Cloud and Aerith never go beyond webm
they're all going to be cop out kisses aren't they
>got baited into buying a game with the promise of a kiss
>in the actual game the rival waifu gets the kiss
>they get nothing
BRAVO NOMURA
>got baited by a 2 second cut out trip and fall
No one to blame but yourself, anon, a rookie mistake
They were not meant to be. Isn't that supposed to be part of tragedy?
t. Time jannies
any clack chads?
wait this wasn't the fusion I had in mind when Clack was conceived
I talked to someone who did confirm there's a point of no return at the end of chapter 12, just like the leak says. Not sure about anything else.

Ok, Zack.
She is not cute
Priscilla?
Are Aerisbros still thinking this game won't make her end up with Zack and Tifa with Cloud, even after the kiss leak
Japanese fans will be unhappy, moron.
oh no 20 angry elderly women won't like Tifa getting the D
who the frick cares
Zack, Tifa and Cloud have a lot of Japanese fans too. In fact Japanese Aerithgays would be happy if she's happy and alive.
