it's really not that far off the rails if you consider it being a two timeline thing. all the same major plot points were hit, and remake still ends in basically the same spot as the og in one timeline, and zack being alive in another timeline that is completely different. i think thats all they really wanted to set up in the remake. one timeline will basically follow the og almost beat for beat but with some 'meta' knowledge and references, and the alternate timeline will be the off the rails crazy shit, and they will converge at the end of game three so zack and cloud can fight sephiroth together and make fanboys and fangirls cream their panties. this is the only way i can see them pleasing og fans enough while also being able to create something new and fresh at the same time.
So what kind of voice are people predicting Cait Sith to have? Will it actually be the Reeve voice actor putting on a weird cartoon voice, or go with someone else entirely, using "Shinra technology" as the in-game explanation for the difference

In the original, disc 3 has no side story because you can finish most of the content in disc 2. So part 3 is going to be a big one. Probably gonna wrap up disc 2's content and north crater on disc 3, some content will be cut or streamline.
