Ehhhhhh. Ascians took until Shadowbringers to get interesting, at which point we killed the remaining two unsundered and left Fandaniel behind. Garleans pretty well peaked in Stormblood and even then the Empire, as a whole, has been defined by the small number of righteous people within it (Gaius, Regula, the Prima Vista crew, the Populares members), Varis, and Zenos. The vast majority of their screentime has been a further implication or even direct statements that the Garlean Empire is a strawman for the Ascians and Solus's death was designed for the nation to fail, both of which Varis fought against believing the Empire somehow was so inherently correct and glorious it'd overcome. Varis's prize was alienating the whole of Eorzea in the Stormblood meeting and getting turned into Anima by the blind patriotism of the Empire. This is a game where the "Imperial Operative's Hat" is a jester's cap.

because to outside fans and newcomers the game entirely advertises itself on the story, and then past that all you really do is max out classes, get the glam you want, complete the raids/notable side quests and then wait for most other players. past that it's either raidgays or ERPgays. there's layers to this but in the end the story is the primary connection the game has ahead of all the MMO content, and is slapped into your face first and foremost to unlock the right to mess with the rest of it.
plus EW's good content is.. pretty much entirely some decent boss fights and some interesting concepts going forwards that are flat as everliving frick right now. Island Sanctuary was a boring mobile game mess, Crit/Variant is pretty dull, the tribal quests are nothing to really talk about, the Relics are fundamentally basic b***h tomestones and Manderville quests (and the Mandervilles are fricking aliens now), and otherwise.. well, you have the raids/savages/ultimates and that's it

EW really was an underwhelming end to the Hydaelyn and Zodiark saga. Zenos showing up at the end was the only saving grace.
EW ruined the entirety of XIV, every mystery can be summed up to "it was an experiment by the Ancients". I was so excited to have a proper Alliance Raid again for EW and now I just don't care because I know the final story bits will be more azemwank due to them being created by the ancients. Anything we discover from this point on will just be an ancient's tool we have to stop.

It's actually hilarious just how Paladin's only emphasis in this entire expansion has ultimately been to highlight that the devs wants a 2-minute burst window for everything so fricking bad that they reworked the poster boy class post-launch after people pointed out how fricking awful it was.
the paladin change is just to reference cecil and have a "knight in shining armor" for the climax of the story, it's the exact same thing as dark knight having zero relevance to shadowbringers' story but being used as a narrative frame in the trailer for "bringing darkness"

turns out the so-called traditional summons don’t work in a game with no elemental affinities/weaknesses, a largely cosmetic mp meter, gcd rather than action point cost and a heavily scripted simon says combat system that doesn’t allow for actual summon effects such as the traditional teamwide raise of phoenix
The summons work just fine, Summoner just needs more summons (Shiva/Ramuh/Leviathan/Odin/Alexander) and to get the Summon's Favor attacks at a significantly lower level so they have more to do on their way up to level cap.

Fair warning, Eureka's a different animal and it isn't broken up by raids until all the way at the very end with Hydatos.

Yeah enemies have very old-MMO trigger conditions, sometimes arbitrarily so. Some enemies will force you to walk past them or else they'll aggro, some enemies will be aggroed by a spell being cast in their vicinity, things like that. Enemy aggro also lasts a frick-long time, it's why it's easier to just kill whatever's chasing somebody half the time, outrunning it doesn't work unless you aggroed it while you were already mounted and you're moving a pretty fair distance away.

they have been like this since arr, you can also use the aggro method at deep dungeon mobs

The triggers are actually present everywhere in the game, Eureka didn't create them, it's just that most of the time in the game you can either solo an enemy without too much trouble or it's too far out of your league and will murder you. It's why sometimes mobs will aggro if you run near them with mounts (and you're within 10 levels, and they're a hostile mob rather than a "peaceful" one) while others won't do anything as long as you don't run in front of their line of sight.
In Eureka you generally need a group to fight things at your level, at least early on, and it's a lot easier to get murdered in general so you actually have to pay attention to the types of aggro that exist.
pyros and hydatos are way more fun than bosnia

Summoner doesn't work in this game because it's not even a fricking summoner. You just have a fricking sparkle fox that you jam a crystal into and turn them into a "primal" for 5 seconds. There is no "summoning" involved in summoner, not even now that they let us "summon" Titan, Ifrit, and Garuda. You're just turning your fricking sparkle fox into a "summon" for a few seconds to make a single attack then they turn back to normal.
In other FF games you ACTUALLY summoned deities. In XIV it doesn't even canonically work because there AREN'T any deities in this game's setting, every god is literally fake and gay. I have no idea why the frick they ever bothered to make summoner when both from a lore and gameplay persective it doesn't remotely live up to being a real summoner.

Thought about commission some art pieces of characters for each transition between level sets on a job. For example, the new melee job and they would be wearing a pvp armor set in the artwork, as it would transition into the game footage, that same artwork character would appear in the game. Presentation and small details I think about on my free time.

They should put in another exploratory zone but make it have no affect on experience outside and not tie the relic's progress to it. That way, everyone can just enjoy the place for the fun of the content.
