It's nowhere near as profitable as whoring yourself off at venues for erotic role-play.
Baffles my mind they let that bullshit slide considering it attracts some fricking serious weird ass mother frickers not limited to actual pedophiles and groomers.
And that's not even it, they nerfed the frick outta levequest gil rewards. So uncalled for they had the gall to state in a live letter before EW launch that people were earning too much from doing cookies.
        Such bullshit.
How would you make gil from crafting?
Enlighten me that maybe I'm missing something because It just doesn't seem very profitable when you have homosexuals making over 10mil a night.

If you nolife crafting raid gear, potions and food at the start of a savage tier you can make 100m+ per day. You either have a big stockpile of materials or you just buy them on the marketboard and still make profit because day 1 raiders will pay the premium to buy their HQ crafted gear as soon as they log in.

Venat's plan makes perfect sense. Powerful immortals that can create a near-paradise don't have to struggle, and are incredibly weak against coping with ideological ennui and despair, as shown by their childlike "just sacrifice people" reaction to the Final Days. Weak creatures that have to constantly struggle, on the other hand, are much better at overcoming despair. Splitting Eitherys into the shards created people that could overcome the Endsinger, because they had more to fight against and overcome already. Brainlets cannot argue against this, and if they try it's invariably some kind of "but the Ancients had a really nice civilization and were all strong at magic" cope.

There are people who can't or refuse to see the parallels between the ancients and the Ra-La civilization.

Right, and parallels to other civilizations means your entire race should be genocided because it's 100% indicative of where your's will end up as.

Continuing on that path would have ensured the Ancients were wiped from existence once they inevitably Jonestowned themselves. The sundering ensured their legacy will live on.

So the lesson you took away is if you suspect a bad outcome in your what-if scenario of thousands to millions of years in the future, it's better to just kill them now. Really fits the theme.

                Anonymous

The ancients were already in the process of killing themselves 50% at a time when Venat sundered them

                Anonymous

Bullshit. They sacrificed half their people to stop a completely unheard of, unexplainabe apocalypse, and did so successfully. They sacrificed another half so that the planet was capable of supporting life, including themselves and others. The next sacrifice would be of other creatures they create to bring back the people who were unfairly sacrificed.

And Venat only stepped in at the last step, and actually couldn't have had her plans work at all without the 75% of ascians sacrificing themselves the first two times, and then went out of her way to keep those Ascian souls trapped in Zodiark instead of the Aetherial Sea.

"Trust me bro this is the last time" says man who has already sacrificed half the population twice (75% of them are dead at this point)

Slippery slope fallacy it is then. Those sacrifices were voluntary it wasn't a crazy cult that was dragging away people in the night. I also find it highly disingenuous of people to not complain that the ancients sacrificed of themselves to create Zodiark and to restore the planet, but when it came to reviving their own selves and essentially butchering cattle to do it, that's when suddenly it is bad.

                Anonymous

Anon.. it straight up shows that pockets of Ancients were just sacrificing themselves thinking it would do something. They were so mindbroken over the thought of having to live with sorrow that they went full suicide cult.

Yes not all of them did that, but even if they went through with the plan.. these groups would still exist and would probably lead to the destruction of their people.

This sad "b-but they were only going to sacrifice some fish and trees right? ;_;" cope makes it clear that you weren't paying attention. It takes humans and their thicc aether to fuel Zodiark's divine miracles, nothing else will do.

Their plan initially was to sacrifice life that newly arises on the planet gradually to bring back the people that were sacrificed initially. Are you just pretending to be moronic or are you seriously trying to claim that the ancients were going to depopulate the planet they killed two thirds of themselves to save?

Yes, they were. That is precisely the situation, and your attempt to deny it with glibness is hollow and false. They were going to kill the new people, that they don't care about, to resurrect the old people, that they care about.

All the aether in the universe isn't gonna fix that, because on a cosmological scale, dynamis outweighs aether 2:1.

For sure, but Zodiark's continued presence prevented the planet from succumbing to said Dynamis and it seemed to be going on indefinitely, even while he was sealed and splintered. If anything, if it were not for Zodiark existing, Venat never would have been able to enact her plan in the first place.

Why do you think she kept the shades of the destroyed species around to suffer even more? Ultima Thule was a garden to grow dynamis. It may have taken millions of years, but there is no hope in ignoring her, none whatsoever. Eventually the scales will tip.

Any sort of life can go through a thousand different "dead ends" you see in Ultima Thule during that time and if your sole argument is "Well one gorrilion years from now a Bad is going to happen so might as well an hero now" then 1. you are an unhinged dipshit and you should absolutely have a nice day now and 2. the entropy doesn't stop simply because meteion is defeated and the same issue still exists except instead of one gorrilion no civilization may exist to see happen it's now one judeogorrilionno civilization may exist to see happen

The entire point of this is to make life continue in perpetuity, anon. If you think heat death is truly inevitable then killing yourself now is a perfectly valid option, the Ea are never contested on that front. Instead what Y'shtola challenges is what they have concluded is inevitable, and bids them to search and research until all data has been accumulated.

Utopias aren't bad, but a utopia would not create the type of individuals required to oppose the Endsinger, and Zodiark was not a permanent solution.

A non-utopia didn't create the type of individuals requires to oppose the Endsinger either since the only reason they even got to challenge Meteion was thanks to efforts of people FROM a utopia. The whole point about dynamis and sundered people falls flat on its face the second you remember ancients can literally use limit breaks begging the question of what was the fricking point.
But yeah, Zodiark wasn't a permament solution, it was a last second stopgap to prevent something they didn't understand from wiping them all out. There's nothing in the game that implies they would have gone the same route if they actually knew what was going on.
Hell, there's nothing implying that they wouldn't figure it out eventually WITH zodiark around either because Venat nukes her planet anywhere between few weeks and few months after Zodiark is put into use and people start picking up the pieces off the ground.

Being able to manipulate dynamis is not some special superpower that just fricking unlocks an instakill against Meteion. Dynamis just responds to emotions, and if you're a spoiled homosexual that crumbles in the face of hardship then you will still crumble in the face of hardship even if you can wield dynamis.

Even if Venat using LB as a trust in gameplay is canon (it's not) they directly explain to you that being more aetherically dense makes you less able to manipulate dynamis. Ancients aren't unable to manipulate dynamis, they're just less sensitive to it, speedreader.

You don't get to say that when the game deliberately makes LBs used in gameplay as a plot point about dynamis. You don't get to pick which ones count simply because it's convenient for your fanfiction.

That doesn't matter in the slightest.
A glacier melts, becomes a river, creates a farmland. You cannot therefore say you can grow crops on a glacier. The utopia had to be destroyed, accordingly.

Suffering is the very core of existence and it's the entire reason the Ancients ever got to the point they were at in the first place. Suffering is the motivation to keep striving forward and try to achieve happiness. A world without suffering inevitably kills itself.

Zodiark already had the battery life needed to go on for thousands and thousands of years

Zodiark wouldn't drain energy because he was summoned with true Creation magicks and not the primal summoning magick that Lahabread taught the sundered peoples.
Only primals summoned by sundered people with Lahabread's summoning methodology are aether vacuums, everything else isn't. Otherwise every animal would have succed Etheirys dry since many of them are the result of an Ancient's creation magic.
Hilariously this means there was literally no reason for us to fight Susano because he was summoned with a creation matrix and not Lahabread's primal summoning ritual.

The aether vacuum isn't part of Lahabrea's shenanigans. It happens because sundered people don't have the aether to fully realize something on their own so the concept is effectively summoned at a deficit that it's always trying to make up for. Susano still had to be killed.

That's a nice headcanon but unfortuantely they directly explain that Lahabrea purposefully trained people how to use creation magicks wrong, as a joke.

Pretty sure they made it a point that Zodiark required a ton of aether to even operate

He required a ton of aether to operate, but it has to be aether offered to him intentionally. Emet states that they were going to cultivate life on the planet until it was bountiful again, then sacrifice it all to resurrect the people they'd used to power the initial summoning + creation of the aether shroud.

It's not a headcanon, it's explicitly stated in Shadowbringers. Lahabrea's frickery introduced the brainwashing as part of tempering, not the aether deficit. You're mixing things up.

Holy shit man, learn to read. She says that primals require an outside source of aether specifically because sundered people don't have the mana reserves to cast the spell on their own. The Ancients did, which is why it wasn't an issue for them.

                Yes, she does.
She doesn't say anything about why it sucks aether constantly when we know that Zodiark did not. That's because she doesn't know why that doesn't happen. She's postulating it. Later in Endwalker we learn it's because Lahabrea's teachings created primals with an insatiable hunger for aether, as directly stated in Endwalker.

This is not directly stated in Endwalker. The conversation you're thinking about is about the tempering process and why it brainwashes people. It has nothing to do with them consuming aether from the land.

Lahabrea only taught people to make primals that will zealously try to convert other people

Lahabrea taught people how to summon primals that are "instilled with a desire to dominate everything around them", which is why they aggressively temper and consume aether.
Normal creations made with regular creation magic can't temper people unless they're extremely powerful, and don't consume aether unless it's willingly given.

So he makes a comic in a language he can barely read let alone write of his fanfiction for what he wishes happened in the scene he barely understood and posts it on Reddit. It understandably gets torn apart and mocked by everyone on both Reddit and Ganker and now all the speedreading ESL morons on Ganker can't post here anymore without getting shitposted into oblivion about ZODIARK TRANCE

You know what? Frick all of of you. Venat comitted GENOCIDE. How can you sit here and try to argue she was justified? She murdered MILLIONS of innocent people, all while selfishly hiding away for 12000 years while making US do her bidding. You think this comic's funny but I agree with it wholeheartedly, Venat/Hydaelyn is a genocidal b***h and the writers effectively tried to justify genocide to the millions of people playing this game.

I actually do want Zodiark trance but the primal that pops out when you use it is ElidiWoL. He blasts with light while you blast with darkness. I was hoping modders would do stuff like this but there's only one furgay making primal mods and they're janky as frick.

Changing animations and models for enemies and pets can lead to forbidden frickery. The april fools doge mod let you skip savage mechanics due to some client to server frickery making the boss not work right and made some attacks not work on your screen. Which the game happily accepts as you avoiding the attack from some client to server voodoo magic frickery with it being pretty trusting to what the client tells the server.

i did a moron job at explaining. basically there's a unofficial rule to not mod the enemies or models used for fights because it can cause some dumb shit to happen. it's more enforced with the larger mod discords but secondaries aren't effected by it.

You wouldn't need to mod the enemies themselves, just swap the SMN primals for other models/animations. There are already a bunch of SMN primal replacement mods up, they're just not that great for the most part.

          Anonymous

I don't know about the new summons. But I remember the old summons had bugs when replaced where they'd turn invisible or stop moving. Directly model swapping them has the issue where you can't change the animations they do. So if the game calls for say animation 4 when ifrit casts a spell, and that's Mustadio's jump animation ID, he's not coming back.

Yeah, I'm kind of beefed with Dynamis supplanting Azem power wank considering how often the latter still gets used in both ShB and EW, only for completely unrelated power that gets introduced for the first time to save the day. I was expecting a scene where WoL gets to do the sigil. In fact it's a bit weird the writers gave Echo all sorts of bullshit powers from past sight to spontaneous power ups to soul transfer, fusion dances and what have you and then not really giving those type of scenes to WoL despite the special relation.

Venat seemed to have a more than cursory knowledge of how time travel worked considering she guessed that you were a time traveler. Her quote about the streams of time joining or whatever on the boat hint at the paradoxical inevitability. In fact all Ascians seem to have a handle on it; Emet for example would have needed to synchronize plans on Source and Shards which move at different paces in order to facilitate calamities.

You have a spell on you which only she could cast, but she's never met you before, ergo she cast it on you in the future.

        Anonymous

Compass/minimap really doesn't help because it doesn't show you the full arena. Also the shine that is supposed to show where your character is facing along with the point on the icon are so small that I can't take a quick peep and take in the information.

During the 1st Pinax locate the north marker. Sounds stupid but that's all it is.

This is the only method I can use that does something

          Anonymous

You dont need to see the arena to know north/south from unlocked compass. The compass rotates with the direction your camera is facing. It's literally the most brain dead way to know your cardinal directions on the fly.

I can't. I fricking can't today. Where are these people coming from? How are they getting so fricking far?

For all the effort the dev team is making in putting more Trusts in for early dungeons and cutting down on the MSQ bloat, they've seemingly ignored the basics of teaching people how to fricking play. Tooltips are still a nightmare of vague terms you only understand once you've unlocked almost all your abilities, Hall of the Novice hasn't even been updated for modern ability effects, and there's still nothing to explain what various aoe markers mean.

Fricking put a proper ass tutorial in the game you fricks. I'm so goddamn tired of people in level 80+ content not even understanding basic shit. At least have an in-game thing that tells the player what a stack marker is, christ almighty.

Kinda meant in the game itself. Besides, if someone is searching for mechanic/rotation explanations outside of the game, they probably aren't even the ones I'm complaining about. There should just straight up be a mandatory tutorial during some of the early game encounters that show you what basic markers mean and highlight important skills for each job. Hell, the fact that Hall of the Novice isn't even a required thing is infuriating, as limited as it is.

Sometimes people don't remember how fights work because they haven't done them in months or years sometimes, like the tsukiyomi thing. I get this feeling a lot when I get a duty in a roulette that has been over a year since i last stepped foot in it.
Other times, you just get the people who are either first timing something (eden) or just the omega casual (ew dungeons)

        >Sometimes people don't remember how fights work because they haven't done them in months or years sometimes
Sorry moron but you don't need to have ever done a fight at all to realize you shouldn't stand in front of the fricking boss or that you should stack with the stack marker or forgetting your fricking dots on bard or an entire fricking combo on dragoon.
If you do any of the above you are objectively just a fricking moron.

        Anonymous

That's fair, but that's why I always explain the light/dark mechanic and tank buster cleave every time I walk into the Tsukuyomi fight, because I know it's something newer players may not know/will kill them. Additionally, the people that ran away with the stack marker (at least the first one) was when it wasn't a delayed one. So it was just a plain old stack marker that they were running away with. In level 80 content.

If you're rusty at the game or don't know an encounter, that's totally fine. Just ask. Say you don't know shit and people will generally say what's up. But in the cases I mentioned, people either outright ignored what I stated or failed basic mechanics that are introduced in Heavensward. And I know I'm being an elitist frick bag, but holy shit how did you get this far without learning these things?

This is what happens when normalgays penetrate your hobby. These people have always existed but it's been especially bad lately since XIV's explosive growth over the past year.

I genuinely don't believe the average casual would make it all the way to ShB content. Unless they bought a skip, to which frick them I guess.

          Anonymous

If you get to level 70 and you still don't realize bosses often cleave in front of them then you deserve to be laughed at and called a moron honestly. Explaining the dark/light is fine because there are a lot of controller morons that don't read debuffs and aren't intelligent enough to realize an ominous moon marker on their head is a bad sign, especially if they're new. But if you're in level 70 content and you don't realize you shouldn't stand in the cleave zone you should legitimately improve the gene pool via suicide.

It's a mix but it doesn't help that people are so fricking quiet in chat and hesitant to give out tips, and tell people what to look out for, for fear of some tart getting emotional anxiety and go on a report spree.

        Anonymous

It is infuriating sometimes. When I preemptively give tips when I see people watching the full cutscene for encounters, I often get people basically telling me I'm being a dumbass or elitist. And when I stay silent, that's when we get full party wipes on the first mechanic that brushes 6 of the 8 people off the arena. And then you just get people, like in the Tsukuyomi thing I mentioned, where I say the important mechanics, but still dance in front of the boss till they're lying on the ground.

It's exhausting. Just say you need tips, I'd be thrilled to give you a rundown. And if you're too nervous about asking or whatever, just follow what other people are doing. Don't go running off into a corner away from the entire party. I've finished pretty much every encounter with minimal vulns just because, when I didn't know how to do shit, I'd latch onto someone who looked like they did. I don't know why some peoples' instinct is to run away.

You PP buyer protection lasts 180 days. Kindly ask the artist one more time on the progress (check their twitter and see if they are inactive or not). If they don't move inform that you will move to PP to resolve that.

It will take at least a month, since the artist will have 30 days to dispute your claim. After that, they will decide if you get your money back.

Careful, it depends how you have sent the money. When sending money, you have two choiced "Buy Product/Pay for Service" or "Send Money". The difference is that the first has a higher fee and the vendor has to pay it but you have buyer protection. The latter is for sending cash to friends and family, has a smaller fee for you and has no buyer protection. Never ever agree to use the latter if you commission an artist for the first time, its most likely a scam.

Another good alternative is using a service like Skeb, where a third party basically takes your money and keeps it. Each commission has a deadline, if the artist doesn't deliver until then you get your cash back. Probably your safest bet.

Dragoon. People said to level it for Heavensward to get additional story. It’s okay, I’ll just jerk off and do side quests and wait for this queue to happen.
I wish I had rolled on a preferred server.

Unironically basic b***h sidequests will take too long. Or at least take too many too be fast. Post tag and world(assuming you're Crystal) and I'll queue with you to get through two levels.

Preferred means lower pop, it's a server they want more people to roll on.

The First was going to Rejoin once there was a significant umbral-aspected event going on in the Source.
The Thirteenth, however, was fricked. It was submerged without any equivalent astral-aspected event, so it just became an aether-ravaged plagueland instead of smashing into the Source properly.
I'm pretty sure once Zodiark was complete enough to overwhelm Hydaelyn they were just going to wake him up and make him rejoin whatever remains by brute force.

        >Hermes is the minmaxed high empathy low iq moron
Hermes was absolutely right. He pinpointed their worship of suicide as being a core problem and it's exactly what was going to wipe them out after Zodiark whether they fed themselves to him or ended up like the Ra-la people. He was 100% correct.

          Anonymous

It wasn't a worship of suicide because they knew they were going to reincarnate. They treated it as a hard reset on their lives, they did not go there to die or to stop existing, they went there so they could live again. This is completely different from Ra-La. Hermes was a narcissistic woe is me c**t.

              Anonymous

It literally was because they were going to give back to the star what they had taken in life by surrendering said life eventually. Then they would emerge again, cleansed of their worldly experiences. This is how reincarnation fricking works, they had people that could literally see souls move between worlds.

            Anonymous

Reincarnation isn't the same person coming back to life, it's just a new person with the same soul moron. Hermes is not Amon is not Fandaniel. They might look similar, and have similar dispositions, but they're still different people. It's not like Emet Selch just comes back 5 minutes later after dying. Someone else comes back who might be able to see souls and might have a no-nonsense personality, but he's not going to be Emet Selch.

That's irrelevant, the point is that they knew they were never truly gone even if they were not the same person. There is nothing wrong with wanting to go peacefully once you feel like you had done all you wanted to do in life.

They were celebrating the fact that one of the near immortal beings had finally achieved all of the goals of their life and felt that his centuries if not thousands of years old long path had finally been walked to its conclusion. OK. They're different from us so suicide is even worse because one Ancient's life is worth a thousand normal human lives. Emet himself even says this. You can't argue against me because I'm right because the game is fantasy and not real life and thus anything I say about it is correct even when it directly contradicts the game itself.

                >but i don't really think you are in a utopia if you are committing suicide.
That's simply because you are projecting your own morality onto them as well as the fact that we live in comparison very short lives and that there's a massive uncertainty behind what happens after we die. Most religions forbid suicide by claiming it immediately damns you to hell for instance.
Thing is that the ancients in this case live for much longer and after they die, they reincarnate meaning their outlook on taking ones own life stops being "I want it all to end" and starts being "I want to reexperience life again".
Coincidentally, this is literally what Hythlodaeus explains during his "killing yourself is actually super rad!" speech which is why most people here had no idea about it or what goes in it beyond that one screepcap of hythlo saying "dying is the coolest thing".

They had infinite energy from the Crystal Tower which raised them up into a post scarcity society, at which point moral decay took root and the entire society was quickly degenerating and on the verge of collapse, which is why Amon set about reviving Xande. And Xande's solution was to start a new war. Allag had uncontested domination of three continents long before Xande's resurrection. He literally only picked a fight with Meracydia to give the Allagans a reason to wake up in the morning, not because they needed resources.

The initial expansion into the Allagan Empire was during Xande's first life, which was over a thousand years before Amon brought him back. They'd spent all that time between in pure luxury.

Encyclopaedia Eorzea says they expanded across the Three Great Continents within a few generations of the beginning of the Empire (Xande didn't conquer it all himself in his original lifetime), then they began to leave pretty much all practical work to machina.

Amon resurrected Xande to Make Allag Great Again, and after a massive internal purge of citizens, they rebooted the war machine and went on the move again. This is when they attacked Meracydia and Xande became a doomer that destroyed the Empire with the Crystal Tower.

Depends on the fight. Koji's fanfiction always adds some shit about gathering adventurers but this is obviously objectively impossible in many trials and such. The only fights where there canonically other people with us are fights with trusts or fights where there being other people in our party are directly mentioned.

The Royal Menagerie also says you have comrades with you even though the fight with Zenos (which is canonically a 1v1) leads directly into it with you immediately fighting Shinryu directly after confronting him. Ravana also mentions it even though the cutscene shows you enter the arena alone after Ysayle gets BTFO. There's probably some other ones but I'm not going to comb through all of DF right now.

Nah, the journal entry before his fight mentions you grabbing other people in fight against his dragon form. Guess he never cared that much about finding more equally strong people after all.
Or maybe they weren't that strong to begin with considering WoL was the sole survivor in the cutscene after much like every other primal fight, why the frick would anyone follow a guy with a 100% ally death rate into battle with a primal?.

I think Garuda also has to be solo because you only showed up with you, Cid, and Alphi. And canonically you were the only one who walked out of the Shinryu fight so anyone else who went in with you died at some point in the battle. Probably when he smashed the platform and went into the Rift.

But "the ability to defeat the endsinger" is a pretty niche bonus as a species trait lets be honest, and it, along with empathy are the only factors where the sundered win.

            Anonymous

You literally directly stated these two things in your post.
            >Ancient society is a near-Utopia
            >Hermes is a low-IQ moron
These are directly contradictory statements, because Hermes is the manager of the Ancients' largest and most dangerous facilities, where all their most powerful and potentially destructive creations are kept, and is in charge of determining whether or not a creation is worth sending for approval or not.
Therefore, you are saying that a society which puts a low IQ moron in a position of immense power is a near-Utopia.
            You are a moron.

Why is that relevant? Any society that promotes a quote "low-IQ moron" to a position of such power does not qualify as a near-Utopia by any stretch of the imagination. Unless you're so immensely moronic that you think a cartoon villain bioweapon corporation is a good thing.
                Oh wait.

                Anonymous

The difference between a near-Utopia and a Utopia is irrelevant because Ancient society was, as you eloquently proved in your attmpts to do the opposite, not even remotely close to either of those things.
It's like having an argument about a bicycle and saying that a stock car is not the same as a dragster. Of course it's not. The differences aren't relevant because we're not talking about either of those, we're talking about a bicycle.
Of course you already know this (or maybe you don't? You sure have stated that you're that stupid repeatedly) and you're just arguing semantics because the entire thread is making fun of you after you've been repeatedly objectively BTFO and had every single on of your arguments dismantled.

nobody said flawless. ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? BRO you know nobodys argueing against that right? Venat was justified in what she did because that sacrifice gave us the oppertunity to stop meteion. That has nothing to do with the nitty gritty of amaroutine society, the objective arguement is pointing to Ra-la's people and saying amarout was on a similar course.

That's typically what happens when everyone you're arguing with utterly and completely fails to make anything resembling a counterargument other than repeatedly spouting fallacies and claims that you can't read, while then directly stating things that didn't happen happened or vice-versa, while posting screenshots that prove their own posts wrong.

I mean they're literally making shit up about the story , they had an argument to start with but they're chatting raw shit now.
