The pvp team works in mysterious ways. RDM still has the 25y aoe silence or bind, but BRD has to be closer and now has the evasive shot tied to the burst despite the fact it's primary attack reaches full strength at max distance from target. AST, BLM, and DRG are easily top three and continue receiving buffs despite the fact a competent player can carry a team with any of those, nevermind three competent players on each job on the same team.
I genuinely think all they do is look at winrate, so people swapping to meta jobs for the first time or without practicing the burst lowers its WR, leading to CBU3 seeing this data and considering the job balanced or even lacking.

Clock spots was not a thing the average XIV raider ever considered until HW, and because EX players aren't necessarily raiders, majoritu had no idea about Protean spots which first showed up months prior to Thordan EX. Its honestly hilarious seeing people who don't even touch raids breeze through Thordan Unreal when all you heard about the fight was horror stories over the past 6 years. It's not even due to gear since the fight is hard synced to low ilvl, its just old mechanics being so ubiquitous and understood by the community at this point. People know about clock spots, looking at the edge of arena, prey markers, boss positioning, tethers, gaze.
I think they're gonna be busy with dragoon and Ast.

I agree for dancer but not machinist. Shuffle machinist off to scouting, turning aiming left side into 'Performing' and make it a support oriented role. Of course that'd only work if you redesigned some things. They need an ability that lets them solo and their buffs have to work in a way that two bards could clear Deep Dungeons and shit.
Machinist could do some support stuff with gadgets. It already has Dismantle, I could imagine gadgets to create a placeable buff field or something. Just not direct damage buffs like bard and dancer
DRG and AST are next on the block but I think Bard is definitely gonna need a total rework at some point. It was best in Stormblood and now all the systems that Bard actually helped with are gone, so it's a Ranger with music these days.

I dropped XIV because the rotations are boring and too many buttons do the same thing. The dumbed down PVP movesets are unironically more engaging, but that's probably because you're fighting against another player and not playing fricking simon says. Only Ninja's 60 second PVE rotation was remotely fun to me.

Aglaia was decent but otherwise I agree completely, the last two raids feel like they were designed as sleeping aids. CT might be boring these days but at least it has the excuse that its mechanics have become largely irrelevant due to ilvl inflation, MotR is just boring design from the ground up.
Visually it’s amazing but most fights have no bite, only Halone consistently kills people. No one is dying to Eulogia. The fights are quick which is fine, a correction from the last series but the fights are also easy. Menphina is a nothing fight.

If you play the whole MSQ in one go now you can't get the same experience we had with entire loose months between chapters spent analyzing each event, wondering about them and simply living with these characters in our heads for so long. When a player does that, the concepts and characters echo and become amplified in the mind, they gain importance just by being remembered every other day.
It explains why old players always wrote that the story was so amazing and mindblowing while new players say that it's just okay and that they don't understand why we made SUCH a fuss about it.

As someone who only caught up with the MSQ story around 6.3, all the strong impactful parts of the story are the ones I was able to enjoy in a continuous flow. The story, both the MSQ and raids, feel much weaker as soon as you hit the drip feed of patch-to-patch content. It's not months of theorizing and wondering, it's months of unsubscribing and doing something else. The Endwalker experience will be massively improved once Dawntrail comes out, and people can just enjoy its full storylines.
The kind of people who wrote "FFXIV's MSQ is incredible" can't be the ones who unsubscribed, they must be the ones who kept loggin in, checking the threads, the videos, talking about what Urianger did in the last patch with their friends and when Thancred was naked remember? Remember the water physics with that cup?! Remember the quest with the mime? Mime job confirmed? What if the WoL is a primal? What are the most fun PVP classes for frontlines? I've been doing BLM, but the time it takes to freeze just one person feels kinda bad when either they're ganged up on and die beforehand or I dedicated 3 GCDs to freezing someone no one else targeted at all.
He won't play frontlines though. It's still incredible in pve and even in smaller scale PVP because people will absolutely focus someone you freeze in that case, but good luck finding who your BLM is targeting in a 20 man blob with tab targeting.
I just want something to have fun with when I'm doing a daily frontlines to level classes.
You need to have a stack on them first before you can paradox to max it, otherwise it does nothing but the 8k damage. And again, in a crowd it's rare anyone is going to target them during a 2s freeze if they weren't already dogpiling them to death.
You have to then do a GCD, wait for it to be done, then paradox, so you still spent 2 GCDs instead of 3 for maxing out a 2s stun in a team mode with up to 48 enemies at once.

I'm not sure about a favorite and a change I'd make to it. I'd rather see some overall changes like 'adjust the underused substats to be viable when stacked/not completely ruin the flow of some jobs'.
Namely skill speed. Make it actually fricking useful if you stack on all of your gear. Give it a higher cap with materia socketing if need be to make it work. Maybe give phys jobs a chance to double hit based on skill speed similar to how you'd 'multi-hit' in FF1. Or even go further make it full on multi-hits where you'll have a decent chance to double but can jackpot for more in a way that's comparable to a big crit. Have the hits give bonus gauge or something too.
I mean done poorly it'll just overtake crit but I really just wanna see things spiced up a bit and for players to have options outside of occasionally reading a note on etro or discord that the crit cap is weird and to socket an extra det, or that your job needs to buy a downgraded ring because reasons. BLM.SMN seem to have this to some degree where I'll see spell speed options that might be a bit behind but it doesn't hurt your DPS enough to matter in the long run.

No, all of FFXIV's mods are clientside, the game effectively has no anti-cheat. If you don't tell anyone you're modding there is no possible way for you to get in trouble for it. Don't use the PrtScr key to take an in-game screenshot if you're worried about it, because that puts a watermark with Squeenix copyright information on the resulting image. Also the game does have invisible watermarks on those screencaps, so another reason to not use them, use external screenshot tools or even just the snip tool or something. Skill leakers around expac launches learned this the hard way.
The only possible way you could get banned for modding in ffxiv is twofold.

You used something like XIValexander to give yourself negative ping and execute actions way before their time. Apparently it lights up on the logs really well, so you will be spotted eventually.
It's an extremely popular game for modders. FFXIV is basically a sandbox that lets you do just about anything you want. It's like Skyrim but multiplayer. Or Second Life but with a tiny raiding minigame. If you're not modding and "gooning" (typing sex words in a chat box), you're not playing the real Final Fantasy XIV.

And if they won't do that, they'll be raped and genocided in turn. The steppes aren't the Africa where you can subsist by eating what's lying around or growing on trees. The land has vast stretches of fricking nothing and rocks, you don't survive there by playing nice.
There are plenty of tribes who don't engage in warfare and just do subsistence farming or other shit, like the Mol or that one tribe with the sacred dirt vases that sets up the Nadaam every year.
They do it because they're too small to prosper, so they barely scrape by. Point is, if you want to prosper in the steppes you have to fight. If they could fight, they would. There's a reason why Magnai and his tribe are on top, it's because they fight everyone. There's also the matter of scarcity of resources that are available. If they all unite and come together and cease fighting and killing, they will starve to death in a few generations.

Not at all, one of the main points in that segment of the MSQ is that their bloodthirst is actually killing them off because they just keep rushing in to die with the belief that they'll be reborn. It's not a matter of survival if they're killing themselves by attacking other people. Plus they even invade the nearby desert to find victims, which surely can't be for the sake of food.

The pvp team works in mysterious ways. RDM still has the 25y aoe silence or bind, but BRD has to be closer and now has the evasive shot tied to the burst despite the fact it's primary attack reaches full strength at max distance from target. AST, BLM, and DRG are easily top three and continue receiving buffs despite the fact a competent player can carry a team with any of those, nevermind three competent players on each job on the same team.
I genuinely think all they do is look at winrate, so people swapping to meta jobs for the first time or without practicing the burst lowers its WR, leading to CBU3 seeing this data and considering the job balanced or even lacking.

Its honestly hilarious seeing people who don't even touch raids breeze through Thordan Unreal when all you heard about the fight was horror stories over the past 6 years. It's not even due to gear since the fight is hard synced to low ilvl, its just old mechanics being so ubiquitous and understood by the community at this point. People know about clock spots, looking at the edge of arena, prey markers, boss positioning, tethers, gaze.

I agree for dancer but not machinist. Shuffle machinist off to scouting, turning aiming left side into 'Performing' and make it a support oriented role. Of course that'd only work if you redesigned some things. They need an ability that lets them solo and their buffs have to work in a way that two bards could clear Deep Dungeons and shit.
Machinist could do some support stuff with gadgets. It already has Dismantle, I could imagine gadgets to create a placeable buff field or something. Just not direct damage buffs like bard and dancer
DRG and AST are next on the block but I think Bard is definitely gonna need a total rework at some point. It was best in Stormblood and now all the systems that Bard actually helped with are gone, so it's a Ranger with music these days.

The dumbed down PVP movesets are unironically more engaging, but that's probably because you're fighting against another player and not playing fricking simon says. Aglaia was decent but otherwise I agree completely, the last two raids feel like they were designed as sleeping aids. CT might be boring these days but at least it has the excuse that its mechanics have become largely irrelevant due to ilvl inflation, MotR is just boring design from the ground up.
Visually it’s amazing but most fights have no bite, only Halone consistently kills people. No one is dying to Eulogia. The fights are quick which is fine, a correction from the last series but the fights are also easy. Menphina is a nothing fight.

If you play the whole MSQ in one go now you can't get the same experience we had with entire loose months between chapters spent analyzing each event, wondering about them and simply living with these characters in our heads for so long. When a player does that, the concepts and characters echo and become amplified in the mind, they gain importance just by being remembered every other day.
It explains why old players always wrote that the story was so amazing and mindblowing while new players say that it's just okay and that they don't understand why we made SUCH a fuss about it.

As someone who only caught up with the MSQ story around 6.3, all the strong impactful parts of the story are the ones I was able to enjoy in a continuous flow. The story, both the MSQ and raids, feel much weaker as soon as you hit the drip feed of patch-to-patch content. It's not months of theorizing and wondering, it's months of unsubscribing and doing something else. The Endwalker experience will be massively improved once Dawntrail comes out, and people can just enjoy its full storylines.
The kind of people who wrote "FFXIV's MSQ is incredible" can't be the ones who unsubscribed, they must be the ones who kept loggin in, checking the threads, the videos, talking about what Urianger did in the last patch with their friends and when Thancred was naked remember? What are the most fun PVP classes for frontlines? I've been doing BLM, but the time it takes to freeze just one person feels kinda bad when either they're ganged up on and die beforehand or I dedicated 3 GCDs to freezing someone no one else targeted at all.

He won't play frontlines though. It's still incredible in pve and even in smaller scale PVP because people will absolutely focus someone you freeze in that case, but good luck finding who your BLM is targeting in a 20 man blob with tab targeting.

Swiftcast then Paradox to instant stack 3, what are you doing tard.
You need to have a stack on them first before you can paradox to max it, otherwise it does nothing but the 8k damage. And again, in a crowd it's rare anyone is going to target them during a 2s freeze if they weren't already dogpiling them to death.
Thats why I said swiftcast, its important to remember you can alternate instant cast fire/ice or just dash to yourself to activate it.
You have to then do a GCD, wait for it to be done, then paradox, so you still spent 2 GCDs instead of 3 for maxing out a 2s stun in a team mode with up to 48 enemies at once.
Its still useful for securing kills for your team in situations where you need to do it, and its a no cast time combo.

I'm not sure about a favorite and a change I'd make to it. I'd rather see some overall changes like 'adjust the underused substats to be viable when stacked/not completely ruin the flow of some jobs'.
Namely skill speed. Make it actually fricking useful if you stack on all of your gear. Give it a higher cap with materia socketing if need be to make it work. Maybe give phys jobs a chance to double hit based on skill speed similar to how you'd 'multi-hit' in FF1. Or even go further make it full on multi-hits where you'll have a decent chance to double but can jackpot for more in a way that's comparable to a big crit. Have the hits give bonus gauge or something too.
I mean done poorly it'll just overtake crit but I really just wanna see things spiced up a bit and for players to have options outside of occasionally reading a note on etro or discord that the crit cap is weird and to socket an extra det, or that your job needs to buy a downgraded ring because reasons. BLM.SMN seem to have this to some degree where I'll see spell speed options that might be a bit behind but it doesn't hurt your DPS enough to matter in the long run.

No, all of FFXIV's mods are clientside, the game effectively has no anti-cheat. If you don't tell anyone you're modding there is no possible way for you to get in trouble for it. Don't use the PrtScr key to take an in-game screenshot if you're worried about it, because that puts a watermark with Squeenix copyright information on the resulting image. Also the game does have invisible watermarks on those screencaps, so another reason to not use them, use external screenshot tools or even just the snip tool or something. Skill leakers around expac launches learned this the hard way.
The only possible way you could get banned for modding in ffxiv is twofold.

There are plenty of tribes who don't engage in warfare and just do subsistence farming or other shit, like the Mol or that one tribe with the sacred dirt vases that sets up the Nadaam every year.
They do it because they're too small to prosper, so they barely scrape by. Point is, if you want to prosper in the steppes you have to fight. If they could fight, they would. There's a reason why Magnai and his tribe are on top, it's because they fight everyone. There's also the matter of scarcity of resources that are available. If they all unite and come together and cease fighting and killing, they will starve to death in a few generations.

Not at all, one of the main points in that segment of the MSQ is that their bloodthirst is actually killing them off because they just keep rushing in to die with the belief that they'll be reborn. It's not a matter of survival if they're killing themselves by attacking other people. Plus they even invade the nearby desert to find victims, which surely can't be for the sake of food.
I'm talking about the steppes at large and the tribes inhabiting them, with their behaviors and culture being made necessary by their environments. And I think you are exaggerating the ferocity of the Dothrals too, Sadu tells you flatly that they fight to live, not to die, so please dispense with that headcanon.

But again, one of the things we learn in the Azim Steppe MSQ is that their lifestyle is wiping them out. If it was a matter of survival then they would have to stop.

You can do that for HoH, I recently blind cleared HoH and it has a fine balance of surprises and danger that you can survive reasonably.
I did go in with the experience of multiple PotD solo clears so I knew what to expect in the sense of a solo DD.
