I wonder how much of the playerbase as a whole (who actually cares about the characters) wants the twins to grow up. Personally I would prefer my Alisaie to stay fun sized instead of turning into a giraffe.
I do just because there's nothing else to do with their characters aside from killing one off which won't happen. They've had multiple character arcs now and you know they'll be at the center of attention again in DT which will be extremely forced. It's so tiring having them be the focus all of the time, especially Alisaie.
They already ruined her by overexaggerating all of her character traits in EW making her go from endearing to annoying. Alisaie was not the only character to suffer this fate in EW though, pretty much the entire cast has ran its course.
It would be interesting to see them both physically grow a bit, but XIV's basically held together with tape and chewed gum at this point. I doubt square enix could afford the expense of creating two unique character models.

If game doesn't provide any resistance as you play it stops being fun and you end up with complaints about it being "boring" or having "no content".
For example lets say crafting a piece of gear used to take you 10 minutes between sourcing materials (perhaps you had to ask a friend to craft you material that only they could craft) and actually pressing buttons.
Now crafting similar piece of gear takes you 2 minutes between finding the recipe in the book and pressing the macro button.
It's the same content but you don't engage with the game at all and in the end feel like game doesn't have same amount of content as it used to.

The only verboten races for me are lalas and hroths. Everyone else is fine. And even hroths would be alright if their lore wasn't the scummiest shit in the game and their players kept their furry stuff more to themselves.
Hroths are interesting because of how much of their lore is completely bunk, in-universe. Almost every hroth NPC you meet gives the same account of their racial history all the way back to the Allagans, when no other race or civilization can even really recall back as far as the War of the Magi, which is recent enough people do still know why white and black magic are banned and the ban is enforced. Bozja Southern Front is badly written on the whole but it does explore the fact that hroth racial history is bullshit.
Honestly it makes me wonder if there's actually some reflection stuff going on between First ronso and Source hroths. In the whatdoyoufrickingcallthem tribe quests, the digger archeologists ones, you investigate the historic past of the Ronkan empire, and one of the first decisions you have to take is trying to guess if their ronso emperor was an aggresive conqueror crushing every other culture around or a kind protector joining all the tribes and shielding them from outer threats.
I decided on aggresive conqueror because it sounded more probable given what little info they gave, but also because after learning Bozja's full lore I decided hroths are just fricking buttholes who bully anyone they think they can get away with.
I think they're gonna quietly retcon that hrothgar originate from Tural. You also reminded me how arbitrary their clan distinction is.

Because from the way the story describes it, it sounds like the way the other Echo powers like feeling emotions, understanding languages, having flashbacks, etc have passed down. I think it's more that they're mages and aether-sight is just "a skill you can learn, or even be naturally gifted at," but not everybody can do it. Matoya was familiar with it already and she's not ignorant of the Echo, too, she'd have probably identified it as such.
Thinking about it, if Y'shtola really had awakened her Echo, even if she didn't get flashbacks she still would have heard Hydaelyn and realized.

No. Hildi and that one from Ishgard are the only ones where characters have moments of interaction with proper animations and not just /nod or other player emotes. iirc devs intent with these sidequests (apart from having comedy/lighthearted characters) was to practise animation so they could work on adding more animation to future MSQ.

The “hardest” boss is trinity avowed because you have to do your own mechanics but the wipes are 99% the trash at the beginning and the enrage on the Queen if the hosts kills everyone with chess.

In FFXI which XIV's design heavily borrows from, its gimmick is swapping between Light Arts and Dark Arts to empower either white or black magic at the cost of weakening the other set (sound familiar?). Yeah, the scythe is wearing a recolor of the base AF set and the greatsword is wearing what used to be a hard to obtain set of gear that is a slight remodel of the AF set. The latter set is actually in XIV for some reason, it's a level 52-54 tank set i believe.

All healers can do damage while moving, whether it's shield healers with melee AoE + sprint, Astro with Light Speed, or WHM with instant dot damage/swiftcast Holy 3 or Afflatus buildup
generally you use aero/dia while moving , but regen is a case-by-case basis thing.

Depends, are we talking 2005 or 2023? If we are talking about 2005 then it would cost somewhere in the range of 125-200,000,000 gil, i'm not even sure if you can compare that to XIV gil because the average person probably has 20-50 million sitting around and in XI at the time the average person probably had 100-400k. It would cost you more than you could earn in literal years of solo farming and that's not even getting into the fact that people would still have to want to sell you the coins, they weren't easy to come across depending on what server you were on.
In 2023 it's a lot easier due to changes that have hit the games over the last 15 years but they've made up for it by adding multiple new tiers of relics that are equally if not harder to grind out.
