tell me how this static goes after 2 months of "progging" 12h a week blind and not making any progress towards clearing

I did o9s in 1 hour so this will probably be 2 nights at most, fight doesn't look that hard.

people were soloing O3S on Warrior when it was relevant, you fricking moron
what size is your static? Just you and your tulpa?

8 people doing MINE for fun. Why does this make you so upset? Stormblood raids are often more fun than EW ones since you have to work a bit for uptime, tanks have to drag the boss around and deal with adds, it's not an instant wipe if Jimmy is 1 yalm out of position, etc.

why are you so defensive about doing old raids MINE?

Doing old content MINE is the only legitimate way to clear any raid since you're doing it in the hardest possible settings. All the morons doing "on content" stuff are hilariously overgeared for everything so every clear is quite literally illegitimate. The only legitimate clears for endwalker content will begin when they can be done MINE when dawntrail is released. Now cope, seethe and shit your diapers.

raids are not designed to be blind progged min ilvl no echo

          Anonymous

They're definitely designed to be blind progged without echo. But usually the available ilvl is about 10 over minimum at release.
Old stuff has fricked up balancing though because of potency creep and simplified low level job kits.

            Anonymous

they're not designed to be blind progged because everything is a trial and error check that gets trivialized if someone else gives you the information
recent example is peridialogos and apodialogos
the names tell you nothing about what they do
they instantly kill 2-6 people if done incorrectly
the only way to learn to deal with this mechanic blind is to die to it

not even world first teams did it blind, they just watched other people streams and shared information

              >someone else gives you the information

              >the only way to learn to deal with this mechanic blind is to die to it
              That's called blind progging
              >not even world first teams did it blind, they just watched other people streams and shared information
The first team to figure out something about any particular mechanic is blind prog, by definition.

                >"the only way to do it blind is this"
                >"yes that is called blind progging"
                you're repeating yourself
the point is thst it is not expected for every single player to go through the same process
and if you want to do it that way you are free to do it, but you will find out it's an inefficient mess that causes people in your team to lose patience and quit
which is why blind prog statics often disband

That's true. They're not designed for everyone to blind prog them. But they are designed to be blind progged and a lot of people do that and enjoy them.

They appealed to raid loggers and gave them everything they wanted, gave them Criterion with Savage, gave them DSR and TOP, gave them an entire Savage raid tier that is pretty fricking good if I saw so myself especially if you're a raid logger. The problem is, they only really accomodated raid loggers and forget everyone else.

      >Deep dungeons
People who do them are still doing Palace of the Dead or HoH there was almost no one calling for brand new Deep dungeons, it's cool they're in but no one is doing Eureka Orthos not even solo.
Like I said, they appealed to the raid loggers who are the most bitter homosexuals in an mmo, even when they're specifically accommodated for they STILL b***h and moan that they didn't get enough attention
      >"only 2 Ultimates not 3 THAT'S BULLSHIT YOSHIP"

People who liked Deep Dungeons (solo or not) wanted a new one, but sadly the new one is very boring to rerun solo thanks to how the game is designed nowadays. For casuals there's not really any reason to rerun any of them besides the few times you need to for the mounts and cheevos.

They fricked up with Criterion. Both Normal and Savage need to have a rework. Normal has to be easier than it is and be more like Extreme level and Savage should be like the raid tier, offer new mechanic and not be a lazy 1:1 stuff with no-death thingy. And for love of god make them drop Savage like gear so people can farm gear not only through the raid tier if they wanted to.

Also the other real reason why it has problem it catered way too much to people that kept saying that this is a story game first and a MMO game second, considering what YoshiP said about 7.0 aka "we'll focus more on the multiplayer activities" I think that he regrets reworking all ARR-HW-SB dungeons to make them soloable with trusts. What a huge waste of resources that was.

        Anonymous

a better read is that he spent most of endwalker making content that can be or is designed to be soloed, and that he wants something multiplayer next. the trust dungeons are future proofing that would have to have been done eventually

also, raiding gear belongs in raids. if you want the high numbers drag the 7 tards, not just 3. then i'll point out that high numbers are the most pointless thing to endeavor for in ffxiv and that maybe you should reexamine what you want out of the game if you're just checking off BiS lists

          Anonymous

I just think that after like 3-4 months of savage, if you get other ways to gear up your character for other jobs. (Which is one of the selling points of the game, being able to play all jobs on one character) then there should be one more way to gear up properly your character too.

Plus the whole solo thing ate way too many resources alongside a PVP rework that came out and fell flat very quick. When they'll fix the netcode in this game, probably PVP will be somewhat decent.

            Anonymous

            >pvp rework

the pvp rework is arguably the best thing they did for EW as far as gameplay. CC is fun (though some stages are shit) but no feature is perfect and doesn't need adjustments. its hardly fallen flat, as there's now pvp modes that aren't dead except on community driven days like friday frontlines.

Criterion completely failed to provide interesting, lasting combat content.

        Criterion (Savage) is dumb

        >skeleton crew dev team because they were all working FF16
        >island sanctuary was implied to be something akin to harvest moon but it's actually just managing a spreadsheet every week

        >criterion dungeons a complete and utter failure on all accounts, made to appeal to the massive influx of wow players prior to endwalker release and ended up appealing to no one as a result due to poor design choices and lackluster rewards

        >expac launch MSQ was very rushed and had awful pacing issues, post-launch MSQ is literally fricking nothing and is entirely forgettable. I remember more of ARR post-launch quests than I do these current quests

        >pvp rework was mostly good, breathing a lot of new life into it but is still very flawed with very questionable balancing decisions and them absolutely ruining shatter in frontlines

        >raiding was an absoulte fricking shitshow. job rotations further dumbed down even from shadowbringers, 2 minute meta forcing every job to essentially play the same way, fight designs were also made very easy especially for melee players with each raidboss having a massive fricking hitbox. cross-dc travel also ruined raiding scenes on many dcs on NA, everyone just started coming to aether to raid and it inevitably fricked up the party finder to the point where it's almost unusable now.

tl;dr this expac was a complete and utter shitshow and anyone who disagrees is huffing copium until their lungs collapse

What is so bad about criterion dungeons? I know people think that the rewards aren't worth the effort, but is the reward all that matters in a piece of content?
I did all the variant dungeons and I think they are a huge improvement over the old "hard" version of previous dungeons.

          They serve no purpose.
They are utterly expendable content, just like regular MSQ dungeons. There is no reason to do them repeatedly. There is no extra difficulty added with doing the savage version. The rewards you get from savage version can be traded on the marketboard, completely invalidating one of the reasons to do it.
They aren't even an alternative source of gear, which players have been asking for for ages. The most you can get is some shit to upgrade your tome weapon to be on par with the raid gear, but guess what, in a couple weeks we get a patch that will give us the final relic step and, oh wait, the fricking final relic step is the same ilvl as the raid wep at the end of an xpac.
On all accounts it is a waste of resources. It doesn't appeal to casuals, it doesn't appeal to midcore people, it doesn't appeal to raiders because they can just do the fricking raids and get better shit for doing them, even an exclusive mount every tier.
It is an absolute waste of time and money, it solves no problems in the game despite having the ability to.

It's easier to get for one, and it's a better title.

they're a replacement for (Hard) remix dungeons from previous expacs and in this respect they are objectively more content
              >reclears are varied, even if only slightly
              >glamour set(s) tied to it
              >get some Deepest Lore to go along with it

That's all well and good but they stopped doing (Hard) dungeons 3 expansions ago. If we were getting these dungeons along with the other shit we expect to get like another zone and a restoration type thing, then I don't think people would complain as much. But when this expac all we have gotten is IS and (Hard) dungeons then it goes to show you how fricking grim this expansion is content wise.

they're a replacement for (Hard) remix dungeons from previous expacs and in this respect they are objectively more content
            >reclears are varied, even if only slightly
            >glamour set(s) tied to it
            >get some Deepest Lore to go along with it

Plus one thing they pointed out is moronic because someone has to do the savage version to put the mount up for sale and you cant just get everything you want in one run

            >They serve no purpose.
            >They are utterly expendable content, just like regular MSQ dungeons. There is no reason to do them repeatedly.
A piece of content can just be a challenge to overcome and be done after it. You don't need to clear the same thing 100 for it to be meaningful. Some people just clear a piece of content once and move to the next one.
            >The rewards you get from savage version can be traded on the marketboard, completely invalidating one of the reasons to do it.
Doesn't that make Criterion a viable activity for getting gil? That gives players that can clear it a reason to come back.
Does gear even matter in this game, every piece of gear becomes irrelevant in a matter of months.
            >it doesn't appeal to raiders because they can just do the fricking raids and get better shit for doing them, even an exclusive mount every tier.
I don't think raiders only raid for the sake of gear, because if that was the case you wouldn't have people like OP that are doing old raids with no gear gain involved.

NTA but only gear that really matters is crafted gear and then you’re set until next expansion, anymore is just an added plus.

This is very true and it's a shame not everyone gets it. I think Variants are some of the best content ever added to this game, even though each one only lasted me a few evenings. I'll be annoyed if the devs change them following criterion criticism.

Do you even play the game? Gil is basically worthless and so easy to get that running the dungeons for gil is pointless, I mean you could if you want to but there are faster ways of getting it.
As for gear, the point is not about catering to raiders but allowing people who don't find raiding all that enjoyable an avenue of getting better gear that doesn't come from grinding out tomes, which are time gated.
Gear does become irrelevant after a few months when they introduce a new raid tier, but so does every tier of gear when that happens.
Obviously if you enjoy just playing the dungeons and learning the fights that's great, but personally if I'm going to invest time into something I want to be rewarded for my time, and these dungeons offer very little in the way of that. Savage raids don't either, but they are at least more enjoyable to play and the gear they provide helps speed up all the other content you do.

so why is gil a bad motivator for content but its literally the only thing to do in eureka and thats alright?

                Anonymous

I didn't say it's a bad motivator, I'm just saying that there are so many avenues of making gil that making another one is fricking pointless. Add that onto the fact you can just buy gil off of some chink for like $10 and get just as much as you would get from running Crtierion Savage and selling the mount.
Eureka also has way more to offer than just making gil, it offers progression and exclusive rewards like the Ozma mount when you clear BA. Criterion has nothing like that.

but criterion has a mount too

                Anonymous

Yeah but you can trade it can't you. I don't have to touch Crtierion at all if I want the mounts from it, I can just buy them with gil, which as I said is easy as frick to get even without doing Crtierion whatsoever.
I wanted the Ozma mount so I grinded Eureka and cleared BA and got it. I had to actually earn that, and that's why it's more special to me.

Also has been better with rewards, I personally like the little extra glow step for the tome weapons, and but I don't think it's gonna be a good carrot for Savage Criterion if we get ugly as frick tome weapons down the line. There's definitely an issue with the gearing balance of that content, and I hope they fix it up. As for gil being useless, I argue it is past a certain point but still has a point. I usually set aside 15 million per raid tier to get a full set, pentameld for early savage clears, and potions/foods mats if my group's crafter needs help. That's doable if you put a little but of extra time on side content that pays like unreal etc, but dungeons definitely help add to it. I'm sitting on like 200 mil or so atm though and at that point nothing gil wise matters so it really is kind of pointless when you have everything and you're practically set for the savage tiers and ultimates for the next like 2-3 expansions of content.

I won't deny they are trying to make it better, but it's not enough man. When they announce making the tome weps glow my first thought is I will just unsync it at the start of Dawntrail, because that's all they are is glam.

                >Gil is basically worthless and so easy to get that running the dungeons for gil is pointless
I can see you don't own a house in the game. There is some content that revolves around gil.
                >As for gear, the point is not about catering to raiders but allowing people who don't find raiding all that enjoyable an avenue of getting better gear that doesn't come from grinding out tomes, which are time gated.
The only content were FFXIV gear matters is raiding. Why make a new way of getting gear if the devs can just change the tomes and the time gating?
                >Obviously if you enjoy just playing the dungeons and learning the fights that's great, but personally if I'm going to invest time into something I want to be rewarded for my time, and these dungeons offer very little in the way of that. Savage raids don't either, but they are at least more enjoyable to play and the gear they provide helps speed up all the other content you do.
Some people don't care about getting the new ilvl piece of gear and only care about overcoming a challenge. Once a new expansion drops all the gear of the previous one just becomes glamour.

                >I can see you don't own a house in the game.
This is a picture of my Ishgard Large I had that got demolished a few months ago because I unsubbed. I still have 75 million gil on my character. This is after buying the 25m gil Ronka mount and the 50m gil shep mount.
Gil is literally so fricking easy to get man it's a joke.

As for gear, raiding is the primary use for it yes, but it also speeds up roulettes, and to tie it all up in a nice bow you need current tier BiS to even do the hard vartants of Criterion dungeons. I understand that people like to do stuff for a challenge, I do too, but like I said I personally like to at least be rewarded for my time.

I think they're made to be evergreen but to be honest the content already gets obliterated with newer BIS, and Alo is gonna be a joke after the manderville weapons final stage hits. I agree with you anon, they need more carrots like helping with gearing on the side since they're usually a patch off of savage anyway, and I think they need proper balancing for more casual players on normal criterion. I don't think EW had good content balance at all, and I feel like a ton of the casual, and lower end midcore players got shafted completely. I hope things get better in DT because I legit just felt bad to get all of that raiding content to have fun with while some of my casual friends had barely any reason to log ion.

Variants too easy and never prepares people for criterion and Criterion is too hard for casual players, I think there should be a proper balancing for them because on those patches theres next to nothing for them.

I think that Variant is for casuals that just want some story and that Criterion is for the hardcore players that want challenge. You could say that the problem with Variant/Criterion is that it doesn't appeal to people in the middle of those groups.

I'm one of those players, I've dabbled with all of the content in the game from maxing out my crafters to even progging the older ultimates in PF and there was just nothing to keep me interested this expansion. I gave up my large because I don't have enough autism to raid all the time, and because that's pretty much all the content there is to do, I stopped playing. fully agreed, i mentioned in a previous thread XIV right now feels like its almost purely focused on either the social players that dont give a shit about content updates beyond "what can i use to glam my char out if I'm not a modbeast" or raiders who are notorious for being a HUGE pain in the ass to continously cater too

Rewards matter for driving engagement. Criterion released while a lot of players were still progging and reclearing savage, and is content where current BiS is relevant, so those players would naturally focus on savage first. By the time they got their gear sorted Criterion PF was already dead - the best players had cleared it once or twice and stopped, with only a few farming it for gil but not engaging in prog PFs. I think there are also a number of people who got burned by the naming and difficulty. Before Sil'dih came out, players naturally assumed that
          >Variant
          >Criterion
          >Criterion (Savage)
would be 3 different, evenly spaced difficulty tiers, with Criterion likely being around the Extreme Trial level. Instead Criterion jumps straight to Savage difficulty, and pretty much the only change to Criterion (Savage) was the rez restrictions which make it a brutally punishing instance most comparable to Ultimates.

      >what has released has mostly had no legs outside of PvP rework
probably more but cant be fricked to think of them

What a huge waste of resources that was.

i think the trusts thing is fine personally because its futureproofing, the game wont always be popular and its better to try and deal with that earlier rather than later

The interns in charge of the .X patches should have been tard wrangled harder and whoever was left in charge of the expac should have prioritized developing a reason to keep actually logging in beyond losing a house. Game is still fine but everyone that is burnt out is because the game is still the same as it was last expansion, but now with even more content gaps. Crafting relics were a nice addition however.

I know, it's quite a novel concept seeing as most people just like to jerk off one another with minimal continuity or consideration of who their character is as an individual. Me personally, I like to play the character along his own story that is told through player interactions using the RP tag. MSQ is a waste of time. Go play a single player game, not everyone is capable of being Meteor.

Nobody cares that you don't want your main character to be The main character, it's just Ganker that's not smart enough to parse the difference between how they RP their character in their search-info and the version of their character that goes through the MSQ.

                Anonymous

If the RP requires you to ignore everything that happens in the actual game it isn't a good roleplaying game. Luckily RPgays are getting a XIV tabletop game soon which will be way better for roleplaying in the Etheirys setting than whatever you can cobble together in the MMO.

Every game with a storyline of its own requires you to do that in the name of supporting your own headcanon. Even FFXI doesn't leave it completely up to you what your character thinks and does, and that game also doesn't give a shit about what your character thinks and does to anywhere near the extent XIV does.

The world and setting are great for RP but I agree with you, at least insofar as what I said about the MSQ being bullshit. You would only have critical information related to various things in the world if you were the WoL. Most people will never know the Twelve are dead. Most will never know the truth of the Final Days, Ancients, etc. That said you can still refer to them as a person in that world who lacks that information and react accordingly.

NTA, but I entirely agree. Nobody seems to realize the majority of people do NOT wanna be the WoL. it's boring. The guy I play is literally his weapon. I'm an intelligent weapon possessing a corpse, and I've done it for so long, it's own aether has reignited and is not effectively a version of the weapon, and doesn't even realize it. That's gonna be fun if the group ever figures it out. [Yeah, it's not 100% to lore, but frick it, it's fun. /spoiler]

Your character is lore accurate enough bro don't worry. Between the Anima (?) Weapons and the Odin lore and aetheric gear you can find in dungeons having the aether of the dead formed wearer, your character is entirely feasible.

Also that's all yokai spirit stuff for Rokkon that applies as well. What a cool character you have.

That's not how RPGs work. Your character can't magically swap between two identities unless swapping identities is literally part of the character's persona, like they have dissociative identity disorder or a secret 2nd life.

He's right, Omega in XVI is literally "hey look its OUR thing from OUR other FF game." It even has the pixel-perfect safe spot between the aoes at the start of the fight like O9S fire phase. There is little actual crossover between XIV fans and FF fans, and CBU3 knows this, so they pander hard to the stuff their audience knows rather than those invested in the whole series.

Good point. When is it a reference and when is it a generally accepted part of the medium? DnD has been around for a long time and it has both sucked up a lot of fantasy ideas from other sources and made several original ones. At what point can a beholder be considered just a fantasy creature not a DnD one?

Good, I don't want Maehiro anywhere near the writing process. All of the XVI teamers were poached from the XIV team during Heavensward and I very much think it was for the better.

          Anonymous

Maehiro wrote the best parts of XIV because it was an expanding world with small stories tying it together, being tasked to write a full JRPG that needed to appeal to everyone instead of something niche and direct is not his forte. Everyone praises the start of XVI but when it strays into default jarpig territory that's when the magic is lost, I don't blame Maehiro for it that much. 2.X is way better than people give it credit for and him laying the foundation of 3.X is why most of those patches feel like they push the plot forward while also being self-contained, none of this filler and filler shit the patch stories have had since 4.2.

Maehiro has a serious problem not leaning on rape as a female storytelling device in XVI, when that game threatened to rape Benedikta and mentioned Jill was *going* to be raped before she woke up as Shiva my mind flashed back to Sastasha and Mistbeard.

Very funny that Maehiro was the one writing XIV when the game had a pirate rape cave and a rapist pirate and an insane healer turned necromancer and killed a femroe immediately for cheap drama

Oda had a woman get gangraped by Garleans in Stormblood and the DRK questline starts with you saving an Elezen girl from getting gangraped by temple knights.

                Anonymous

It was also a significantly better character motivator for Yotsuyu than it has been when Maehiro did it since Oda didn't dwell on the rape itself anywhere near as hard, nor did he mention it every five seconds and Yotsuyu has more interesting things to say than "I was raped/came really close to getting raped. I support you Clive"
                >DRK questline
The rape's just part of that one and I would say it has more to do with DRK's Berserk references than anything, remember the manga opens with Guts fricking a monster's brain out and our first shot of him in the whole comic is of his ass (before beheading said monster)

                This is disingenuous.

So it's fine if it's a Berserk reference? It's not like Maehiro really lingered on the rape more than Ishikawa did. When the corpse brigade raped that one Ala Mhigan chick it was done to highlight how desperate the situation of Little Ala Mhigo is and to piss off that one guy enough to try to steal crystals from Amaal'ja. Ishikawa included the attempted temple knight gangbang to highlight the corrupt elements of Ishgard and why Dark Knight vigilantism is necessary. In both of these cases the rape wasn't included to get anyone hard, it was to highlight an issue in the setting at large and provide a motivator for the characters.

Don't go tunnelvisioning on Emet now. In the big picture the template is political conflict that segues into hidden manipulator into ancient civ/aliens/manifestation of despair or nihilism.

And while much better executed than predecessors, Emet-Selch is still preceded by characters like Ardyn and FF IX Garland.

In both cases it made sense. Bandits rape women and invaders tend to rape the shit out of the people they conquer. No way they'd stay flaccid when a woman as attractive as Benedikta and a seemingly defenseless e-girl is at their mercy.

I do think alliance raids being already casual content should ilvl sync to thr ilvl cap on release. It's kinda dumb that you just nuke any alliance raid that isn't the last one of the expansion, but it makes sense from a gearing perspective to make the old ones easier when you need all 3 tokens for an upgrade material.

How do other MMOs do raids so they aren't just bang your head across the wall follow the dance or die?

      Anonymous

They don't, because there really isn't any other way to DO a raid. You can't make individual performance matter in a large-scale multiplayer environment, that's moronic; picture an alliance raid where every single person out of 24 has to "pull their own weight" beyond the simple execution of their rotation and not standing in the bad.

Usually when this conversation comes up the real question being asked is "why don't raids often have add phases anymore" and "why do I not carry a bomb into the boss's mouth sometimes"

        Anonymous

Why not have a raid that forces each member to fight its own door boss before allowing the group to come together in order to fight the real boss? 24 mini bosses and for every one that doesn't get defeated it adds something to the boss fight to make it harder, like an orb that has to be carried by two people that makes them unable to perform any actions but if it's ever dropped the boss gets a 5x haste modifier to all its abilities and true damage that hits through barriers?

Yeah, I get it. I had been arguing the past few threads to bring back class fantasy and feel. The direction pvp took was class fantasy first and balance second. I'd kill for that in pve, but I don't see it happening with how the dev team responded to the complaints.

          Anonymous

Its so bizzare. Pvp, a mode where everything must be balanced has the best job forms. Pve is balanced to the nth degree and all the jobs feel the same. Why

You don’t really need gear but you most likely need the right pot so raid wides don’t one shot you I haven’t did it in years so I maybe wrong now

The worst thing about XVI is that its story is padded down in the exact same way, except its not to pad out sub fees, its just because these MMO devs don't know anything else. And unlike XIV there's no endgame to look forward to in XVI. The entire bogged down poorly paced narrative is the entire game.

Holy shit please have a nice day and unsub. You've let too many streamers and reddit opinions fry your tiny little brain until you can't think for yourself anymore and parrot what they say to fit in. 2.X did so much worldbuilding for the whole game, the only "slow" part is the moogles because that feels really detached and lacking urgency like Leviathan or the looming threat of Shiva and dragons did. HW does have some slow moments, especially when you're tasked with getting to Azys La after Haurchefant's death, but 3.1 and 3.2 are way better written than any patch from SB, SHB, or EW.

Back then, patches were written to satisfy the players and not create more questions until the hotseat writer for X.3 or next expansion took over and had to create answers themselves.

No, nearly the entire MSQ is a movie. You can literally set the controller down while you're watching the 30+ minute cutscenes. The rest is just auto running to the next waypoint on your minimap, or playing the tab target arcade minigame every once in a while.

They actually cannot fix that because it's top-to-bottom moronation, for a very long time they were forced to use a dwindling supply of PS2 devkits to make any changes, bugfixes, or additions to the game. "Virtualizing" the equipment and servers, which probably means developing a PS2 dev-kit emulator and getting one decent server to run the game on, was the only thing that made XI's continued development feasible.

Despite making them a ton of money over the years and STILL being free millions they refuse to do anything to help it.

Monk should have retained its niche as a greedy DPS with no party buff

Samurai should have been a Tank

Dragoons jumps should be GCD and feel more impactful and powerful

Reaper should be deleted and they should add Spellblade or change Dark Knight to a DPS

Bard and Ranger should be split, Bard would be a Caster

White Mage should solely focus on regenerative and holy magic, split the elemental stuff for Geomancer as a Caster or Healer

Machinist should be a melee like Edgar was in FF6, split the guns off for Corsair or Sniper/Musketeer

Necromancer should be added, Yoshi needs to say screw the lore

Chemist should have been a potion tossing job, gigantic missed opportunity

I'm beginning to think Dancer would have made more sense as a melee

Have you done any of the Endwalker raids? It's like hitting a big turrent while doing the DDR.
On it's own, having to move a boss is a little janky but serviceable if it's needed. However once you combine it with positionals and a smaller boss hitbox, they influence each other.

A good tank will keep the boss in a safe area with enough space for melees to gather around it while remaining safe from targeted AOEs. And face the boss in such a way the melees can do their positionals.
You can do nice movement in E4Sp1, E8S, E6S, to name a few. As a melee or tank, you'll notice the difference between a serviceable tank and a good tank

Penumbra is meant for modding. MARE just let's you see other peoples mods, and is NOT needed.

If you've ever modded New Vegas, then you'll be right at home. All your stuff can be sorted into folders and sub-folders, and you just drop your modding files into a main folder, and assign priorities to whatever you want. There's even mods that check and label what should be what priority.

Turns collapsed neatly into being numbered, but Alexander duties didn't have a subtitle that could be used in the same way, so people just used A for Alex duties despite the previously established convention turns provided.
When Omega came out, there was actually a small divide between people abbreviating Omega duties with O and people abbreviating them with V (from the names of the duties) before O eventually won out.

huh. Now I'm seeing the possibility Hrothgirl is the same job and gets the trailer spot to avoid having a Lala in trailer and I don't like that one bit.

It does if she's a shaman. Shaman is very likely the parallel given the Mamoolja in Tural using the same stuff as the ones in La Noscea.

                >Shaman
Imagine if World of Warcraft left a comment on Final Fantasy XIV's Twitter page about Shamans, like they did with the Heavensward patch Revenge of the Horde.

The Mamool Ja are just copy pasted from XI, they use a lot of skills/jobs and come with a lot of names but shaman is not among them and does not fit their way of life.

she'll probably be a viper as well.

The half of her outfit we've seen is closer to Warrior or Berserker than to Viper. I think she'd be wearing Viper AF if she were a Viper, same as Yugiri wearing Ninja AF.

Most likely just their starting gear, even then it could be a placeholder because they don't want to show anything else yet.

There is a Lala in the trailer anyway, one is on the boat along with Sicard in the back.

I don't have a screenshot of it because why would I but you can see them as the camera pans around the boat. They also did their best to hide Alphinaud for whatever reason, even adding an extra light to block him.
