I don't even parse, but I do personally record my game play footage to review later.
Never once felt I've needed to cheat because I always pick up mechanics super quickly and generally have my muscle memory perfected in just a few pulls.

I think it's smart in the sense that there really is a metric frickton you need to go through to get to current, and it bespeaks them not wanting *at all* to actually crunch older content or otherwise shorten the existing MSQ to reach endgame. A different starting point with the mentioned heavy encouragement to start from scratch so you're not lost seems a good compromise to me. Like the whole point is they're not actually going to write or rewrite anything to accommodate people that skipped it all, they'll be just as lost as they would have been if they bought a job/story skip and played Endwalker now.

The compromise is buying a story skip. Paying money to have the game played for you, rather than taking the time to play through and familiarize yourself with the game's systems and structure, and story if you care about it.
Letting people just jump to endgame or closer to it just multiples the amount of people who act like that Quinn homosexual, who just paid his way to endgame, got his shit rocked in raiding because he had 0 idea what was going on, and then just quit while ranting about how 'shit' the game was.
As much as the draconian reporting system plays a part in it, another big reason why a large chunk of the community is so dedicated to the game is because they all went through the same shit and put in the time to build up from nothing. The jokes of 'the great filter' actually hold some truth to them. Hell, even Ganker espoused the merits of it before wowgays started feeling threatened and shitposting every thread to death. People are there because they enjoyed the ride and want to stick around for what's next.
Focusing on just getting people to the finish line and gear treadmill as quick as possible is why WoW became a garbage game that actively shits on the feedback the community provides while putting all their effort into keeping people pumping their engagement numbers as much as possible to look good in quarterly reports.

It's not going to be a 1.0-ARR transition where everyone just magically forgets who you are so you can fresh start as a nobody and work your way back to your status as literal savior of the world.
That's like telling someone getting into a long running TV series "Oh you can just start at season 4 since it's the start of a new arc and that way you can catch up faster."

You could dissect combat logs manually and calculate DPS. So in the end that is very low in their priority of caring about third party tools compared to things that actually give you an unfair advantage. A voice chat program running separately on your computer is not a third party program, just like it wouldn't be a third party program to have a guide on your second screen to look over at.

The problem with Hroth, and why they're visual pollution, is that they wanted to add a monster race in, since until then every race was just humanoid or kemonomimi... but they chickened out, so they added a clearly humanoid, man-lion shitfest that's neither a monster or sexy, and which wound up appealing only to fricking furry baragays.
At least with Hrothgirls they've learned their lesson and are appealing to straight up """""""""""""""""""normal""""""""""""""""""" furries, so I imagine Hrothgirls will be popular in the same way characters like Loona or Lola Bunny are.

Hey!"
Now imagine she's important to the plot in some minor way that keeps her around, so you've got multiple cutscenes that have the WoL standing back with their thumb up their ass doing nothing as this chick clings to G'raha, laughing and giggling, as he stammers awkwardly (but not rejecting it).
And now, G'raha's whole and primary motivation is to help her out with whatever big overarching issue she's got that's too massive to be solved through the plot as is, then he and her are going to go on an adventure. It's not *nescessarily* romantic. You can definitely still ship yourself with G'raha. But his big thing is that he's gonna go on an adventure, just with her. Just as friends, maybe.
Imagine that shit, and imagine the backlash that would get. That's the garbage that Y'shtolagays had shoved down their throat.

When you're playing the MSQ, after Venat's death, that night you have a fricking cutscene of her being welcomed into the Aetherial sea. It plays directly after, it's directed right at her, it's unmissable. The idea that she's "Turbodead" seems like some random thoughtless comment pulled on a panel without a clear memory of the storyline (same with a lot of the random additions people use for panel answers as canon, honestly).

I do think that the rule is not to tell people too much of the future, as it could change people's thoughts and decisions down the line. Which is why WoL wasn't allowed to tell anyone in the first place.

In the sense of being immortal. Technology and magic will keep developing, eventually modern society will reach ancient Allag, and without Rejoinings there won't be any world-ending apocalypses that rip the entire world's society apart and set technology back, so they'll someday SURPASS Allag. In the modern day the Garleans are already inducing the Echo artificially, and in Allag we know they could make people immortal, much more powerful, revive the dead, create new life, and all that. They'll artificially make themselves like the Ancients, and then the same question of ennui comes up once more. If ennui is the core problem then Venat didn't solve it, only delay it, and was it really worth what she did for the sake of a delay?
And at that point what would've made Venat any different from the Ascians, who constantly destroyed society after society in pursuit of a selfish goal? Never mind that both are gone now and so nobody is going to hit that reset button.
Sure, but there are more chances that a civilization that tasted misery and finally found the answer to "what's the meaning of life?" wouldn't commit the same mistakes than allag and other more nihilistic past civilizations.
