XIV is built to be like a dance. Its really not hard to notice when someone keeps missing a step, especially when playing healer.

It's been happening since I would say Stormblood onwards to be quite honest, it's not necessarily that the community didn't have impatient people before it's just that we're absolutely flooded with WoWgays that only left WoW when it eventually exploded in Shadowlands. They've imported their culture with them, there's a huge difference in the quality of people that came long before that game died and after they had no choice. Very unpleasant people, same thing that happens to MMORPGs and any community that gets too popular or becomes FOTM.

I only started in ARR myself but seeing the community slowly degrade over the years made me realize all the oldgays and FF originalgays were what made the community great, the minute they were out numbered the quality went down drastically. a lot of oldgays also left because the game changed too much for some of them. most of my close friends left by the end of sb or the start of shb
Some of mine still play but they do so very casually these days, only clearing the content when it's released then immediately going back to whatever else. Some of the old ebins are still around but they've all long since abandoned this site as well. Or are playing on an FFXI private server.

Healers have way faster queue times.
Healer queue time is still the fastest but it's way more balanced than most MMOs. I get fast dps queues (1-3 minutes) during primetime. Healer queues are instant unless you're queueing 8-man content in which case you might need to wait for another healer.
i just play sage for anything not hard now cause its just short queue times and has the be the most braindead job in the game

I don't know about other regions, but a large portion of the North American player base is afraid to tank and an ENOURMOUS portion is afraid to heal. This is why DPS queues are a nightmare while healers can instaqueue for virtually everything.
DPSing in normal content takes virtually zero thought and attention so that's what most people like to play.
I don't understand the idea of being afraid to play a Tank or a Healer, tho I suppose my lack of understanding is because I primarily play PvP games where you can't afford to be a pussy regardless.

You can automate the crops and the animals.
Once you get your two Granaries built, you can reduce the entire thing to a once-a-week task.
If you want maximum efficiency cowrie/exp earning, you will need some manual gathering. But if you just want to set a few recipes each week to earn felicitous favours (unlocked at lv20) then the granaries/farms can handle it so you only need to check once/week.

Island Sanctuary is meant to be done as filler content while you're wating on queues/PF. If you're grinding it out you're doing it wrong.
Even while waiting in queues it horribly boring though. It's the one piece of content in this game I advocate botting (or just not engaging with it if you don't want any of the rewards). Regular mining/botany is pretty interesting but somehow they made the most boring possible gathering system that takes way longer than it should for "comfy" content.

Pretend you're a new player so the wholesome community rushes over to watch you go through and react to the story like emotional vampires. You have to really make sure to overreact to all the typical scenes too. Once you've caught up to the story the vampires will vanish but you'll have a nice extra chunk of money and maybe some lingering morons you can fleece by making 10 minute long videos on patch day showing off new emotes and hairstyles.

I never did savage raiding until Asphodelos. Never liked raiding on a schedule in MMOs so I tried PF and I had fun with P1S and P2S, but P3S broke me. In the end I killed that fricking bird after like 3 weeks, but after doing like 1 or 2 pulls on P4S I said "no mas" and never raided again.

The fight is actually fun to optimize because of all the weird phasings and downtime. Also if you really want to tryhard, job gear is BiS in some slots.

There has been a downward trend on positional requirements for quite some time now, and all side content has removed them, so I can, with a high degree of confidence, state that positionals in normal content will be gone.
This will remove the need for anyone having True North on their bars and that button will instead be replaced with whatever the job's level 100 ability will be.

And you still have to do 6 GCDs (plus 2 GCDs for the actual moves) out of those 2 charges, then you have to wait a minimum of 20s to get the third charge you need in order to do the last 3 GCDs you need to unlock Tornado Kick
And then after all that buildup, the potency of that damn move isn't even impressive, and you can't even hold it for more than a few seconds before it falls off and you need to get another PB stack and do ANOTHER 3 GCDs to get it back
MNK is a lot of work for no payoff
Try gauging if you can fit an extra PB during trash pulls or a boss, after that your PR/TK will be on your 2 minute burst to give you big pp number.

DPS is the easiest shit in the game and most you'll run into in randoms are fricking awful. The tank and healer should not be outDPSing them but I see it constantly. I don't see a need for a Hermes argument. I think he was very well in his right to feel the way he did. To feel depressed, outcast, ignored. Basically treated as another cog in Amaurotine society, to do as he was told because "so did everyone else, and that's how it's always been."
It's natural that he'd feel alienated and rejected. His (and I assume the concerns of many other Amaurotines who didn't truly fit into the status quo) consternation fell on deaf ears. A lot of what Hermes became could've been avoided if the lofty Ancients just stopped cramming "their ways" down everyone's throats and just listened.
Part of what takes the wind out of Hermes viewpoint at that point in the story is how it's portrayed. His anger st Ancient society is shown via two points, the first being his mentors resignation and impending suicide, which while obviously odd to us, loses some punch considering everyone else says he's all too happy to reach the end this way, and had he continued on, like Venat he would at most just be seen as eccentric.
Having a scene where we get to see an echo flashback of Hermes discussing this with his mentor and seeing some level of regret there would go a long way towards making him seem less selfish at this point.
The second is a lot simpler, and it's that the creation he experiences such sorrow over having to destroy is seemingly written to be one of the most monstrous and loathsome creatures we see in Elpis.
The things we're meant to empathize with in Hermes are the same ones we're supposed to agree with in Azem and Venat, that same individualism and rejection of basic Amaurot societal conventions that seem insane and unreasonable to us. That's why his ACTIONS, what he did in response to that feeling, in contrast to Azem and Venat, are meant to be completely horrifying. You understand where he's coming from, but reject where he goes with it.
This is exactly how I feel about it. I very much understood Hermes and why he felt the way he did. It must have been absolutely stifling, suffocating to be part of Amaurotine society, yet not feel at home in it, to not feel as many others did, as you were expected to feel. The kind of isolation and despair that must instill.
But him turning around, making an edgy face and going "Perhaps you're the one who's wrong" and protecting Meteion as she escaped into space was where his methods lost me.
