Honestly considering the Iroha shit, the worlds are probably tethered in terms of reality by some greater force, skipping beyond shards to straight up alternate dimensions that can still affect each other very distantly.
All FF worlds are distantly connected by the Interdimensional Rift. Since FFXI gods are genuine deities, they're aware of the multiversal aspect. Shantotto also figured out how to cross it and ended up in XIV.

Usually, yeah. There are some cases in XV Gilgamesh where he's completely unrelated. XI's may or may not be the same Gilgamesh. He doesn't act the same way at all but he looks like Type-0 Gilgamesh, collects rare swords, and there's a little sidenote about how he's unusually gifted when it comes to travelling the Rift. My headcanon is that Gilgamesh retires in Vana'diel and becomes a laid back pirate grandpa.
off the top of my head he wasn't the same guy in FF9, FF11 and FF15, but FF11 still implied that game's gilgamesh traveled worlds saying he "smelled like the rift" if i'm remembering right

All shards exist in the same location in the same universe as the Source, but they're dimensionally displaced. Like they're on different wavelengths. EE3 finally gave some official commentary on it, even though it talks about it in a "we think it's like this but maybe not" kinda way.

I always imagined that after a certain point in Shards (specifically beyond the moon, since each Shard has its own moon) you would just hit an 'invisible wall' that would not allow you to go outside of the spatial bubble you are in.

My thought was one of the shards being a Shard of aggressive conquerors and attempting to invade the Source somehow, maybe the Ascian assigned to it fricked up and in his/her attempts to give them the means to destroy themselves they ended up just turning on them and harnessing the power for their own ends instead.

Not "you can only do so much per week", but "fill your workshop slots at the start of the week and leave until next week". It doesn't even matter what you're putting in there because the EXP's a flat amount regardless.

Why would they do that when they've already shown they will copy over sets exactly when doing crossovers? Ivalice, Nier, FF4 gear as the tome sets, etc.
Because AF sets are too iconic to allow other jobs to wear, and they're not doing 22 sets of armor to port over for an alliance thing when they do their typical 5 sets of gear, especially when there some jobs don't exist between the two.
It's pretty easy to use other sets for these other jobs, FFXI is a 21 year old MMO with a trillion sets to choose from. The only "hard" part about it is they'd have to adjust their loot system but hey, do the right thing.
I think the hard part would be some expectation of class exclusivity in the event they do port over Artifacts, Ivalice could get away with it because none of the jobs we got sets for actually matched XIV's jobs or their aesthetics for them, i.e. Ivalician Samurai's set being the female Samurai armor from Tactics for either gender most likely just to cuck Samurai out of having access to oyoroi armor

Its been rumored for ages, I think it was even part of the NVIDIA leaks? But there's been no hide nor hair, and some think the Tactics Ogre remaster was an attempt to check if there was an audience for it. Granted, at this point we all know Square is fundamentally moronic from the top of the head to the tips of the toes and even rooted into the earth, so it wouldn't be surprising if they passed it up.
You can fault Square Enix for many things, but about remakes you cannot. They've been pretty diligent about making remakes of even little known game. I never expected them to remake Live a Live and Tactics Ogre of all games.

It's Japanese made, and more of a casual gatcha w/ some autoplay assistance in the guise of being an MMO (yes you can group up on shit, but only late content actually demands it).
It does suck since whoever they have on their art staff clearly cared about having a good aesthetic/clean presentation within the confines of modest mobile hardware requirements. These guys do more with a single 1k texture for a whole character model than ARR does with a larger set of materials.
This is the biggest offender, especially with how the game is the most crashtastic thing I've played on any Playstation console. Shame the EN version never hit their PC release.

We'll only know how the new Jobs play only when the Media Share event happens very close to the release date.
Hell, we won't even see what new skills already existing jobs will get before like, one or two months before launch.

I've been thinking about this for a while now, and I think the big reason I struggle to get on with EW telling me I need to feel sorry for the Garleans and we should be helping them get back on their feet, and rebuild Garlemald, is that we never, ever actually got to see this as anything but a black and white conflict.
The Garleans aren't morally grey, almost every interaction with them has been outright evil. We play through things like the start of SB visiting the rape camps, the Valens "Burn out the bad", or the GB questline where the guy was tortured for 10 years, so badly that his body still seizes up on him.
And the other side of that, the justification they have for going around the world, murdering, raping and enslaving people is "People were mean to us hundreds of years ago."
We never saw any of that. And we never got to take our army through Garlemald, we never got to see their hopes get crushed and their people watch their pride falter, instead they're destroyed by their own evil bullshit and then we're told "We should help them rebuild, these civilians only supported and aided this evil empire, they're kinda innocent."
And so then we have that dumb bawd they shame you for killing her (invader) friends at the Praetorium. And when Jullus goes out into the wider world, and gets spat on and called a baby murderer, we're gonna be the ones defending him and saying "That's terrible, that people would be so racist!"

There's a ton of grey area in relation to Garlemald throughout the story. You meet characters like Gaius who believe they're bringing security and progress to people, and who treats everyone equally as long as they do their part. You meet characters like Rhitatyn who show loyalty to Garlemald because they actually did uplift his homeland. Characters like Misija who received education and opportunities they were denied in their homeland. Garlemald has plenty of shitty people taking advantage of the military structure to act like psychos, and it also has decent people who believe they're doing the right thing, and it's full of civilians who only know what the radio tells them about what's happening. Not to mention that Garlemald as a whole is a victim of multiple Ascian plots.
Very little to none of that is grey, Gaius was outright planning on genocide, and he was just as much of a brutal, evil ruler as anyone else. We hear about life under his reign, and it's still not any better.
Same with the rest who might have some minorly sad backstories (none of which we ever see), but who then dedicate their entire life to committing atrocity after atrocity. The Bozjan Garleans are meant to be BETTER than the normal ones, and look how fricked up and psychotic they were, Misija was executing PoWs for fun.
Meanwhile we NEVER see any of that in return. Eorzea and its allies are only ever the ones receiving bullshit. I don't think there's a single questline where some Eorzean general was torturing and murdering Garlean prisoners, or were the captured civilians were passed around like prizes. It never happens, at least not that I'm aware of.
And, from the Garlean's perspective, until we killed Emet they had been doing nothing but benefiting massively from the Ascians plans.

Yes we do. Even as recently as EW there's a comment from the Ala Mhigans that life under Gaius actually wasn't that bad at all. Their suffering was under Zenos. For the Domans too, they allowed Kaien to act as viceroy of his own people and Doma thrived as a center of tourism. Gosetsu is guilt-ridden over it because he's the one who personally had to stop rebellions before they reached Kaien's ears, and because of that he was the one who talked Kaien into rebelling, and the disastrous result made him think he ruined the good thing they had going.
I'm not saying Garlemald are perfect or good, just that there were absolutely people with good intentions in Garlemald, and many, many more people who were running around with blinders on listening to Emet's propaganda about how people in foreign lands were psychotic barbarians summoning gods that eat the planet.

In 1.0, during the course of ARR, in EE1, it's all over the place. There were no primals in Eorzea until immediately after the Battle of Silvertear Skies. If you watch the 1.0 opening you'll see primals escaping from the explosion, because in the original lore they were apparently genuine gods who had been locked away under the lake. In ARR the explanation is that the destruction of the lake was the actual beginning of the Seventh Umbral Era and the chaos of the event had caused the laws of existence to start weakening, allowing for primals.
That would explain why primals are absent from Eorzea's history
Yeah, Garuda, Titan, and Leviathan didn't show up until 15 years ago. Ifrit was 13 years ago. Mog was 5 years ago during the events of 1.0 and Ramuh afterwards following the Calamity. Zantetsuken was technically summoned but it was sealed inside Urth's Font. Something strange though is that some old lore says that Gaius encountered some mystery primal immediately after taking Ala Mhigo that made him withdraw and wait another 5 years before moving on Silvertear. But that has never been touched on since.

The Scions distribute information they've discovered, somehow. You never see it happen in game but the encyclopaedias do make reference every now and then to receiving the information through the Scions. Also reminder that WoL has all of the Ascian soul crystals containing their memories. It feels like the writers themselves forgot this.
If those stones are half the Macguffin the Azem crystal has been there's all kinds of crazy shit waiting to be discovered within those things
But none of the Scions could possibly give any kind of accounting of Venat or Hythlo's history, and none of it was stuff that the WoL was told. And it can't even be from the stones, since Hythlo wouldn't have had one.
And can we even see the other Seats memories? We never seem to do anything like that
EE3 says that the Scions (probably Alphinaud or Y'shtola wrote it) gave a very comprehensive report as to everything they've been doing in Shadowbringers and Endwalker and also itself says the fact there's only one source on any of that information is extremely suspect, but the Forum has no real reason to contest any of their report given what little they already know about the Ancients and Final Days matches up with what the Scions told them and there's no possibility of any other source
