Is every person alive a shard or is it only those with the echo?

Yeah everyone is shattered into shards, but only those with the echo are related to pre-sundered ancients.
Everyone on the source is 8/14 (7 rejoining + 1 as default) and the WoL and G'raha are 9/14 (WoL + Ardbert, Exarch who experienced the 8th rejoining + himself)
Everyone else has either "new" or reconstituted miscellaneous souls.
My version of shadowbringer:
We are trapped on the first and emergency selch says he will bring us to the source if we cause an umbrella calamity. This forces us to become the warrior of darkness ala jack in strangers of paradise. Wol tries to resist at first but we see the garleans preparing their black rose which sort of coincides with the umrbal calamity. Hinting that maybe there's an inevitably to it. Anyway this would lead to you having to be a villain and eventually the real warriors of light are summoned from the nes game. You fight and defeat light destroying the first and return to the source just as the garleans bomb limsa gridania and uldah. The warrior of light is pissed xenos is excited and this leads into 3ndwalker.

my version of shadowbringers would have expanded the meol plotline to be some massive ancient conspiracy to dumb people down to 1/14th of their original intelligence by poisoning the food supply with goyslop and the whole story about the sundering was just a cope
But he didn't conspire with Venat. He told both sides he doesn't want anything to do with what either side is planning and set off on his own path.
Supposedly it didn't work out as he got sundered along with virtually everybody else and since stupid time travel was involved we don't know if Hydaelyin would have left him an out to escape it like she did Emet Selch and company if she didn't know that Azem getting sundered was integral for future events.
Hell for all we know Venat told Azem he needs to get chopped up and the latter went along with it.
I still fully assume Azem was never sundered and the quip about the player being a botched familiar is going to be a plot point later on

if they ever make an expansion exploring the other shards then they should make a shard where the not-Garleans are threatening to do something really bad and we gotta stop them, and center the expansion around not-Ilsabard where we fight not-Anima so the people who complain about Endwalker not having enough Garlean content finally shut up for good
a future expansion each shard will be zone where we have to merge with an Azem shard
It's not like rejoining gives us any more power or anything from what i can tell.
It would probably make us drastically better at being a SMN, which in fairness is sort of reflected in how summoner now plays from 80+
It did give a power boost when Ardberd merged with WoL. Ancients are also more aether dense which is why they could not control Dynamis

though menphina/og making a moon on each shard does throw that into question a little.
menphina designed the moon. doesn't mean she physically created it
very fair, someone or something went and done the deed though, perhaps it was a part of the sundering itself.
In the right weather condition you can see the moon in Elpis, so somebody might have already made it by then

Realistically at this point we need an admin to come in and rangeban them for good. It's been going on for more than a year now, they've made it clear their only interest is to turn these threads into /xivg/ 2: Electric Boogaloo, they maliciously evade filters that were created specifically for them (the equivalent to blocking someone ingame, and then they just made alts to continue pestering you), and ignoring them doesn't work because they either reply to themselves, or some anon will ERP with them.
No idea who they are, what has been compelling them to do this for over a year now (literally every single day since they appeared last February), they're here 16 hours straight and the only reprieve is when they go to bed, but it's clear they're never going to stop unless they eventually get bored. But looking at the degenerates in /xivg/ and how long they've been keeping it up, unless the game outright shuts down I don't expect them to ever go away. And even THEN.....
Mods should just enforce rule 13 on them, I have no idea why they refuse to (when I have seen them ban other avatarags, like that one femroe a while back). No other game on this board has this problem of some attentionprostitute breaking rule 13 every thread with impunity and just contributing shitposts and pissing everyone there off. Just finished playing through the elpis arc how is it canonically justified later on that we can just teleport to the past whenver we want?

Dont we get a little textbox about it? Iirc something along the lines of the fact the momentus events have passed and the timeline is stable, anything we do back there we were always going to do, and we can come and go freely just like we can with the first.
Crafter/gatherer quests also bring attention to the fact we can go there.

If they want to add PF stress, they'd make the majority of Savage AoE mitigation require 30% minimum like Ultimate does, rather than the present where Reprisal + Succor + Soil is more than enough for everything.

Play a DPS, the damage from enemies isn't nearly as bad as PotD or HoH
I liked Ninja very much because it let me sneak past some bad floors, it has fairly good burst too
Samurai is another good solo option(damage pomanders scale very well with its guaranteed DH/CRITs....Machinist is pretty solid too
