Endwalker Story sucked and it's time to admit it
Now that the honeymoon period is over, I'd like to say that Endwalker's ending sucked and just flat-out ruined what could have been a great story.
A spoiled brat with, daddy issues, destroyed an entire civilization because life is so "mean". What an awful ending. Also, you don't just introduce new characters that late in the saga. Just terrible storytelling.
"Oh no, someone dares to criticize FFXIV!? quick, get the noose!!!" <--is what I expect from the loud minority here who rejects any real form of feedback because "feelings" but, this needs to be said and facts are facts and that's that.
I am going to entirely disregard the opinions of some homosexual playing the groomer race with their signature being their character in a fricking sports car while wearing a leather jacket and a fricking sports cap.
My blood churns at how 35+ year old fat gay furgays playing Hrothgays prey at 12-16 year old boys choosing the beast race because they just think they look cool, it is fricking vile a d I would personally neuter every fricking Hrothgay with a dull gunblade if I could
Hrothgar are nothing but visual pollution. They lessen the enjoyment for everyone whenever the game has to waste resources rendering them. Hrothgar players are the lowest of the low, subhuman, wastrels, low lives, the repugnant detritus of Final Fantasy XIV. Your kind is nothing but a joke, it is clear that some unlucky homosexual at Creative Business Unit 3 pulled some kind of underhanded trickery to get his pathetic fetish race put into the game. The normal developers treat the race like the joke they are, and try to have them in the story as little as possible. Hrothgar players should all kill themselves.

Hey man, I don't wear that homosexual jacket and hat.
I wear the homosexual ifirt jacket with the Minstrel's Shades, while spouting my dogshit opinions.
My problem with the expansion comes from that I didn't feel any threat the whole way.
It was an end of the world scenario and it didn't feel like that at all.
Also that no important chars kicked the bucket didn't help either.
They should have at least put the stupid armageddon weather in all the zones while the last part of the story played leaving just Old Sharlean normal so at least one could feel it was like a last safe haven or something.
I felt this way too but EW bootlickers claim "you can't have a story that's all climax" because somehow in their mind EW is an amazing capstone to 10 years of adventure and also should be treated as an independent story of it's own because reasons. In Labyrinthos the game literally tells you that you're doing useless chores to kill time and people defend it as smart pacing.
>"you can't have a story that's all climax" >EW is an amazing capstone to 10 years of adventure
where's the contradiction >and also should be treated as an independent story of it's own because reasons
show me where on the doll the EW bootlicker touched you and said this
24/7 go go go hurry hurry hurry is stupid even within the context of the story, let alone for an extended 10 levels of story
>24/7 go go go hurry hurry hurry is stupid even within the context of the story
Quite simply, no. I was fine with every bit of downtime from the beginning to this point but EW should absolutely have been way more about fighting imperials and demons, way less hanging out with rabbits, moving boxes, and jerking off ancients
>Hermes canonically had countless Meteion's killed for his moronic research >This caused OG Meteion horrific pain and the feeling of literally dying herself every single time it happened >Had OG Meteion comfort HIM over it >Canonically sacrificed countless creations to stop the WOL, Venat, Hythylodaeus and Emet in the dungeon despite whinging about the value of life
>opening of the story has him seething over the empty platitudes he gets from his colleagues >when Meteion comforts him with the same shit he's okay with it >yfw you realize where Meteion even picked up those emotions she was comforting him with
The issue he had were the creatures that were made and then just killed for no reason other than "Too predatory". The Meteion's died while pursuing a goal, its not the same.
>Bard does 300-400 less dps than Dancer >Even more of a gap for MCH >DPS check is so incredibly strict in P8S that this matters and people class lock ranged phys to Dancer
what the frick did yoshi-p mean by this
not that this is a ranged issue only, every role is dealing with this garbage right now
And you didn't clear this tier week 1 either. And if you somehow did your entire static had to make up the deficiency in damage your job of choice caused. Egoistical prick.
>It's ~80rdps less than dancer
no >dancer is more restrictive on team comps that benefit from it.
having a samurai is not restrictive sams are everywhere
Bro you can literally just look at fflogs and click statistics.
And having to run a single specific class in a role sure as hell is restrictive.
Even from week 1 people were clearing running double melee with SMN/RDM as their caster. If they didn't have to run BLM then no class was making clears impossible so long as the flexible dps was melee, even if you made every single "wrong" choice.
Even then, this data is explicitly from clears. And likewise a lot of other classes are benefiting from DNC being the most popular which boosts their rdps in a way that won't be representative of them in a team comp without DNC.
But I still just think it's dumb to complain because even in the most hypothetical situation of everyone performing on average with clear, if you were to sub in a BLM instead of a SMN, that's a +435 DPS gain.
While BRD instead of DNC is only a -78 DPS loss. Even going RPR instead of MNK is only a -199 DPS loss. And going PLD+WAR instead of GNB+DRK is -322 DPS loss.
If you're going to meta hard, BLM in the caster spot can singlehandedly cover for 3-ish peope in non-meta positions.
lol, people class lock DSR also despite worst possible comp being able to clear it, only because PF shitters need to accommodate for people being inconsistent due to various strats/composition buffs.

frick off I play japanese dub, I have working ears, thats how they say those names, krile doesn't fit lalafel naming conventions kururu does, Venat theoretically has the same etymological root word as Venus anyways and Venesu isn't a correct spelling of venus but still sounds nothing like "venat"
I type the names how they are localized and you will never hear my voice.I don't give a shit that FF5 and 12 localized those names poorly first.

it literally doesn't. and she is the only lalafel in game with a non-lalafel name, /unless you are playing in japanese/ because kururu is a lalafel name. yeah I know she's fricking adopted. That will never change the pronunciation in the JP dub.

Yeah I know she's adopted. Papalymo didn't need to take a name change just because he lived in sharlayan.
Krile's name is Krile becase it was that in 5. and 5 came out back when more localization changes were made in a script. It's the same localization change then as it is now. Her name is still clearly pronounced Kururu in japanese.

If you know that the japanese are mispronouncing something, do you continue to use the engrish or do you actually use the real fricking word? Also if Krile's last name was Brile it'd fit lalafell naming conventions just fine. Just because the Japanese can't end the word at Venus doesn't mean you have that excuse, grow up.

I call Venat Venesu because her name isn't actually venus but its also not venat. Venus makes more sense but not perfect sense in terms of the story considering every other ascian is a greek name while venus is roman. but her name isn't a correct spelling in japanese.
How would you know the pronunciation of the JP dub though? You've outed yourself as a cutscene skipper.
I don't know how backwards your thought process was in this moment, I'll assume you aren't moronic. If I listen to characters pronounce her name Kururu while reading krile, I know the localization got fricked at some point in the distant past.

I don't really get this.Obviously her name isn't a correct spelling in Japanese, because her name is Roman. I can understand not calling her Venat because obviously her name is Venus, but like do you call Hades, Hahdes? Do you pronounce Emet as Elmeto? I don't understand why you're willfully mispronouncing a word which you actually know how to correctly pronounce?

The correct transliteration into japanese is biinasu. I think of her name as venus, pronounce it how it is pronounced if I ever have occasion to say it out loud, which I do not, and I spell it venat if I have to write it online.
Anonymous
But I thought you said you called Venat Venesu?
Anonymous
I just said thats how I say it out loud. and if I have to explain pronunciation in an entirely text format. I write venat specifically so that this argument isn't constant. write venus and people b***h about dubs and correct spelling in japanese. write venesu and people b***h about dubs. write venat nobody blinks an eye. no matter what venat is a product of localization, and one I don't care for because it entirely took me out of the experience when I heard it pronounced.
When I heard venesu and saw venat when the name was first said in game, I had to stop and think if they changed it for a reason, why, whether WoL was venus and they knew western audiences wouldn't accept male WoL being named after a female goddess, etc, ended up reading people talking about this localization choice happened in 12, that planet venus is the same morning star that is associated with lucifer, etc etc. it really took me out of the moment which is the reason non-literal localizations really bother me.
Anonymous
>I just said thats how I say it out loud
But I still don't understand why you're purposefully saying a name wrong just because the Japanese say it wrong? Like you obviously know that Venusu = Venus because there's no other word it could be and it's obviously not a Japanese word.
Anonymous
I don't think it's obviously supposed to be venus because it wasn't written the correct way venus is typically written in japanese. I think it's likely supposed to be venus, but that thats not the case that anybody at square enix would admit at this point. I accept that venesu could be an entirely unique creation for 12 and still don't accept the localization change to venat.
Oh I agree, but not enough to stop her. With the Convocation he had to actively turn his back on them, so Zodiark Trance comic doesn't make sense. There's a small difference in not agreeing to help someone vs turning your back on someone, but it's there.
Thats just the story that Venus told her sacrifices. She needed Azem to reincarnated for the time loop to happen. Azem can't be Hydaelyn nor can he be one of the sacrifices.
I think it's more that the Convocation expected support while Venat asked. He also had responsibility to one but not the other. He rejected that one and didn't even bother replying to Venat. So I don't think you can really read into it whether he thought better of the Hyd plan vs the Zodiark one.

Hermes realized a flaw in paradise and it tore him apart, and since the answer he got from Meteion was an affirmation that life has no reason to exist, it stained his soul.
imagine desperately wanting the universe to be a happy place where life has a reason to exist and a purpose, and be told definitively in the negative, with the most all encompassing numbers to erase all doubt.
>imagine desperately wanting the universe to be a happy place where life has a reason to exist and a purpose, and be told definitively in the negative, with the most all encompassing numbers to erase all doubt.
Imagine having your head shoved so far up your own ass that you think that people being nice to you means they hate you and that you're the only person in the world with feelings because apparently, a mood ring flower told you so.
Except it's not because you can talk to the Ancients and see that they aren't the emotionless apathetic npcs that Hermes seems to think they are so his "no one feels emotions cause flowers are white" theory is bullshit.
Except that they are and the game has proven it many times over. You can't accept that the Ancients had problems, one of them being that they were emotionally apathetic.
>You can't accept that the Ancients had problems, one of them being that they were emotionally apathetic.
No, I can accept that they had problems, but it's stupid to say they had no emotions when we are shown various characters that show emotion.
>object that explicitly reflects the emotions of those nearby >when other Ancients stand near them, there's no reaction >"but look they smile that means they're happy!"
Autism.
The Elpis flower reacted to strong/extreme emotions. Just because everyone wasn't running around in autistic sperg mode like Hermes doesn't mean they weren't feeling emotions.

The flowers only reflect the dynamis though. The ancients have so much aether that the dynamis they have would generally not reach them, but it's like comparing flammability of a person drenched in water vs someone covered in dry straw. Wouldn't mean that without either of those two that they woudn't have the same reaction to fire.
Anonymous
You're confused on how dynamis works. The Ancients don't have dynamis in them, but they still affect the dynamis around them. That's the basis for their magic, seen as far back as ShB where they talk about how a clear mind is absolutely vital for creation magic so stray thoughts and emotions don't creep in and alter the final product. The Ancients didn't notice dynamis, but it was still around them and still responded to them.

Aether cancels out dynamis. Sans aether, they could just as easily have as much dynamis as any sundered person, and show that they do when Emet/Venat/Hythlo can use LBs while having their aether suppressed in the one dungeon you can use them as trusts. Hermes is just outrageously depressed to the point he has more of an emotional response than his aether would cancel out.
The flowers or dynamis are just a dumb gauge for emotions when it's activey cancelled out by aether, which we know the Ancients have an insane amount of (enough that they can't be transformed into Blasphemies by dynamis).
Anonymous
>Aether cancels out dynamis.
Yes, so it doesn't mingle in their bodies. It's still around them and it still responds to their emotions. >Emet/Venat/Hythlo can use LBs while having their aether suppressed
Their aether suppression has nothing to do with it. All Ancient magic uses emotion as the catalyst for magic. Emet-Selch was such a potent mage because he was so emotional. All their magic was always dynamis-based. Which means that the failure of the elpis flower to reflect their emotions is not because dynamis had trouble interacting with them.

They shrouded the star with aether, which literally cancelled the final days aka. storm of dynamis.
And the flower reacts to dynamis
And ancients were aetherically dense
Its not difficult... Just think

The Final Days happened after we went to Elpis. And even with Zodiark's shield up, there's still dynamis in the world. It just doesn't mingle within the bodies of the Ancients. External dynamis still responds.
Even FRICKING LAHABREA, the most stoic and apathetic ascian character has emotions, the pandaemonium raid story is all about a kid with daddy issues and his dad .
he was so anti-emotion he literally split himself in half and stuck his emotions in the basement, and Eric has his daddy issues precisely because Lahabread is so emotionally distant

My point is that ascians can feel emotions, lahabread case proves it. He had to seal his emotions in order to not get influenced by his wife and to do his job as lahabrea properly.
Amaurotines are able to feel emotions, but their culture doesnt allow them to feel strong emotions can lead to disasters like what happened in pandaemonium and even Hermes depression leading to him unleashing dozens if not hundreds of extremely frickle and autistic bird girls to explore the universe.

It's funny how people screech about Venat/Emet/etc when this motherfricker is responsible for most of the bad shit that happens in the game and he caused the Final Days not once, but twice.
It was Emet who told everyone primals did it just to justify the imperial expansion in the name of the anti-primal crusade. The truth is that Amon stuck an aetherial blocker (the House of the Crooked Coin) into the Azim Steppe so the land in the Burn would be easier to lift up.

Mooncats are fine in Gridania, the ones that aren't poachers at least
pretty sure current WoL could shitslap the Elementals
they'd have to just anger-nuke the entire Twelveswood and kill themselves to probably do anything to them
if it were pre-Garlean invasion pre-Atomosucc Elementals(which were a force that could effortlessly slap away entire legions without a single Gridanian getting up and wielded approximately holyfrick degree strength magic - see 1.0 WHM AF Chest quest) he'd have to do an Extreme Trial to win the right I guess :^)
WHMs can apparently not give a shit about what the elementals want or what their guidance entails as with A-Towa-Cant, who completely abandoned the Twelveswood for however long to go heal elsewhere (upstream from the Twelveswood, so ultimately whatever good he did elsewhere was striking at the heart of whatever bad shit would happen to Gridania)
Kan-E-Senna might or might not give up her padjalhood to dick around elsewhere but it's not like she's not okay with that in the end, she didn't want the job and does it out of obligation
Oh this is also getting into that random adventurers being WHMs is lore-friendly, the Elementals really cannot do a fricking thing if a conjurer explores Amdapori ruins unearthed by the Calamity and finds a soul crystal in there
Same for BLM and exploring Mhachi ruins, being a SCH from one of the Limsa MRD platoons, being a SMN from the Immortal Flames summoner squadrons, going to Othard and becoming a SAM, tooling around in Ala Mhigo and finding a MNK crystal, going to Bozja/Othard and becoming a GNB (or just getting a crystal from Radovan in Eorzea), etc etc

The sooner we genocide the elementals and bring back real white mages the better.
Actual black magic is even being taught again at the end of the job questline and while not really a "canon" thing summoners get full summons too.
I'm aware, and every white mage job quest skirts around this because they're too busy sucking the great tree taint.
We NEVER talk about it, or anything good, the closest we ever get is the xaela necromancer and them saying "Well MAYBE we'll stop being as moronic in the future"
>real white mages
They *are* real white mages, the difference being Gridanian WHMs (so basically the Padjals) are only given the magic under strict guidance from the elementals and are pretty much only given it for the sake of sanctifying corrupt spots of the Twelveswood, and in giving the elementals a pacifier in the form of Holy when one of them is having a melty
Conjury lore-wise is a "safe for the masses" version of White Magic where you're still using atmospheric aether for your spells, but you have to ask the elementals for permission on each and every spell in the back of your head. It's a big thing that casting Raise is enough to potentially kill somebody if they try to use their normal aetheric capacity built into their body, Red Mage needs to do fancy footwork to do the same with their own by "magnifying" their aether and I don't remember if Thaumaturges use atmospheric aether or not
>and I don't remember if Thaumaturges use atmospheric aether or not
Thaumaturges use internal aether and use their astral/umbral stances to either accelerate the flow of aether or to slow it down for the sake of replenishing their stores.

I'll believe that when we get Ramuh->Leviathan->Shiva added to our rotation and Alexander as a big DPS long cooldown boom button.
Well, there's at least decent odds she'll figure into one of the Criterion Dungeons, but I dunno if that will really count as a traveling companion per se.
I don't even know if it's ever been confirmed that she actually uses glamours for her appearance. I think it's just how she does her hair and makeup and how she dresses that are how she tries to make herself look more mature and adult. Which I think is even more endearing. Either way, she's 28 so it's fine.
it's 100% confirmed she's using glamours to appear older because other world leaders didn't respect her when she looked like a 12 year old. Padjals stop aging around then. E-Sumi-Yan is older than her
I've heard it said a ton of times and I think I remember reading it but I have NEVER been able to find any dialogue or lorebook snippet that explicitly says she uses glamours. I'd believe it, either way, because it's not unheard of in the lore, but I always just interpret it as her relying more on makeup and fashion for it. And, yeah, I know that she stopped aging during childhood but she's 28 and also able to lead a country so clearly it's not a crime.

Its just what either Yoshida or Koji said in an obscure interview many years ago. So its as canon as Lalafells vegana being stretchable

This is what Koji had to say on it: >Her age is- and I wrote this down - she is in her late twenties. But again, that’s her spiritual age. As you know, the Padjal all physically stop growing at about 10-11 years old. That’s why they all look like children. But they live full lives so you’ll have people who look like children but are actually 40, 50, 60 years old. In the case of Kan-E-Senna - and up until the end of 1.0 it was E-Sumi-Yan that was the Elder Seedseer that was in control of Gridania, but when the Grand Companies came out, Kan-E-Senna, who was in the forest communing with the Elementals at that time, came back to take over the Grand Company. >The thing is in the other city-states you have Merlwyb, y'know kickass, and in Ul'dah you have Nanamo who is Seventeenth in her line, you got Raubahn who’s like rrrrrrrrrrr! And so you have these really strong leaders in the other city-states and then here… Y'know people in Gridania understand that their Elder Seedseers are really powerful but for the rest of people they’re like ‘that’s just a kid you can’t take these people seriously’ and so again, her making herself appear older is to present herself to the people of the other nations so they will take her seriously. She’s basically making herself look older than she really is so people will take her seriously. Spiritually she’s in her late twenties. Physically in her early teens.”
He doesn't say exactly what techniques she uses. Could be makeup, could be glamours. I think glamours would be more appropriate for a hippy druid that lives so closely to nature, but it's up for interpretation.

I don't think the methods have ever been confirmed so I guess the glamour thing is just a Mandela Effect. It's as likely as whatever other explanation.
[...]
She's still child-sized in height, frame, and build. And she's flat-chested. So the glamour, if that's what she's using, would be purely on her face.
b***h what, look at her when she's standing next to other padjals, she's using an adult body while the others use child bodies

Given the introduction of interstellar travel through means of spaceship in endwalker how do hell do the reflections work in this regard? I get that they sort of occupy the same space but at different wavelengths but what happens if you leave earth via the spaceship in the 1st? If you travel from the 1st via spaceship to Ultima Thule and then travel back what reflection will you approach? The same reflection your soul and matter your body and the spaceship belong to? Are the reflections cut off from the wider universe as a whole?
The devs have been asked and even they haven't thought of exactly how it works. At the very least we know that Endsinger's dynamis bombardment wasn't hitting the First directly. The First was only in danger because it would vanish if the Source did.
I'd assume each person is kind of "tuned" to the shard they left from so when you leave the space of the planet, you exit the parallel dimension bubble and enter the singular universe. On your way back, you will be sorted back to the shard you left from since your aether is most attuned to that one?
>Athena visited the smith-god Hephaestus to request some weapons, but Hephaestus was so overcome by desire that he tried to seduce her in his workshop. Determined to maintain her virginity, Athena fled, pursued by Hephaestus. He caught Athena and tried to rape her, but she fought him off. During the struggle, his semen fell on her thigh, and Athena, in disgust, wiped it away with a scrap of wool (ἔριον, erion) and flung it to the earth (χθών, chthôn). As she fled, Erichthonius was born from the semen that fell to the earth. Athena, wishing to raise the child in secret, placed him in a small box and then made sure no one would ever find out by giving him away.
The absolute state of Eric.
Character creator revamp when? Why does the dying armor suck so much? How do so many people play this game only for dress up and fashion when this shit is so fricking limited?
None of those would work to bring Zenos back.
Meteion has no reason, and arguably no ability to bring him back to life
There wasn't a body for him to soul hop into, had he stolen WoL's it would have knocked (you) out of it
Reincarnation might be possible if his aether finds its way back, but we know reincarnated souls aren't the same, at the very most it might share a few traits.
And WoL has no reason to try and revive him anyways, even if we did still have some of the power used in Ultima Thule to snag Emet and Hythlo from the lifestream left.
Theres also the problem that there isn't much you can do with Zenos, his story is over.
He got his grand final duel, his satisfaction.
What can you do after that? Have him just try and fight us again. He's a very one note character even if he's written well, any situation where Zenos comes back would just be him trying to fight WoL
>What can you do after that? Have him just try and fight us again. He's a very one note character even if he's written well
Zero is already giving him new characterization by talking about how he "risked life and limb" going to Ultima Thule because he wanted to save his "friend".
We already have the context for that, Alisae of all people was the one to get the idea into Zenos' head that if he wanted his satisfaction, the Endsinger situation needed to be dealt with first. Risking life and limb was a means to an end for him. >WoL won't duel me until this end of days thing is sorted out >I cant get my duel if WoL is dead >ergo, I must help WoL kill the bird head lady so they'll finally pay attention to me and give me my duel.
Bringing Zenos back would just cheapen his arc, especially if it's just a monster of the week thing
Yeah, but Zero's take on the situation is making it clear that they're trying to introduce the idea that he actually did see (You) as a friend and was worried about you. I don't want him to come back, I'm just almost positive that he will. If not in the next expansion or two, then in the next finale in 10 years.
>Meteion has no reason
She's friend to all life now and doesn't really have any beef with Zenos. There's no reason not to at least go say hello considering he was right there, and helped WoL kick her out of her emo state. >arguably no ability to bring him back to life
It's not like we check the body to see how dead he is and plot wise Dynamis is already the de facto DO LITERALLY ANYTHING asspull power. >There wasn't a body for him to soul hop into
I'm not sure if they ever give a max range for body hopping, even if it'd take a long time. His soul didn't get destroyed or anything. >Reincarnation might be possible if his aether finds its way back, but we know reincarnated souls aren't the same
Yes, but there's already plenty of cases of echo users and even sundered retaining their memories in one form or another. Though if they go this route I'm assuming they'd do something like the guy merely having vague recollections of his previous life. >And WoL has no reason to try and revive him anyways
The plot can conjure up any bullshit reason for characters to decide they need him for something, even if it's temporarily. I mean we've done it for more than one villain already. >Theres also the problem that there isn't much you can do with Zenos, his story is over.
Exactly, which is why they can do anything they want with him since he already got his ultimate battle with his dear friend. The writers in general have a bad habit of not killing off characters for real even if their arc ended with an emotional farewell.
>Exactly, which is why they can do anything they want with him since he already got his ultimate battle with his dear friend.
There's only one situation I'll accept Zenos coming back, and it's him feeling empty and purposeless after getting his satisfaction and having a short quest chain of the WoL dealing with him being depressed until he finds a hobby as a Fisher or Culinarian or something.
Only way I could see him return is they do a Ardbert for him and some fragment of his soul follows you around, not to help you in any form but to keep him entertained. Maybe in a story mission duty you get "possessed" by him and end up "You will play this duty as Zeno Viator Galvus" but it's just you with Zenos attacks.
I find it funny that the meaning of death is so bad in FFXIV that even after the rip off Guren Lagann fight people still aren't buying it. They need to start introducing some characters to kill off again so people feel some tension again.
Zenos fans are crazy and the devs don't have the stones to be more straightforward with them otherwise they might cancel their subs. Yoshi always uses phrasing like he was "left in space" the voice actor makes silly faces when asked about the future of Zenos.

why would a non-FF boss become the big threat of the game instead of alternate version of a FF boss or a Unique to 14 boss?
How is Lavos more likely than Xehanort?
Theres a theory that the Endwalker relics will have a stage that's FF reference weapons, due to Gilgamesh having business in the rift, alongside his general connections to the Manderville family.

>Donald and Goofy show up alongside Sora >Everyone they run into assumes them to just be members of Beast tribes not native to Eorzea and are more confused about Sora's grossly oversized feet

Yes I know, this technically isn't my first rodeo. I just didn't know I was instanced until they popped into being and the shock was enough to make me embarrassed for existing and quit for the night.
Meds. Literally nobody cares about your character.
And persona is canon to drakengard nier. and smt is canon to persona. and so is blazblue and rwby and senran kagura and arcana hearts and under night in birth. and bayonetta and devil may cry are canon to smt.
It's funny how much more invested the audience is in Zenos than the WoL is. In case you forgot most of the scenes in the game with Zenos are happening somewhere else, to the WoL he's just some crazy guy they've had like 5 short encounters with.
Zenos is clearly dead. I think the idea that Zero is Azem's reflection from the 13th and he specifically chose to force a pact with her is a decent continuation. but what about OTHER zenos
>Whatever you imagine you would've done if you were Azem is probably the closest we can get to the truth
Azem was creating new and exotic monstergirls to frick?
Actually deconfirmed, because several years have not passed in game. in fact 1 year has not passed in game because alphinaud and alisae haven't actually aged out of being teenagers.
>tfw see pajals and their doofy hearing / speaking powers >ponder where they might take this power to hear spirits and shit from besides just meme elemental lore (you see them being created in Elpis too they are smalltime) >realize that there was, most likely, at least 1 Ancient who could hear and speak to souls / nature / ect >somehow the ancients fast tracked onto a course of trying to add onto and improve the world and nature itself with creationism >a gambling man would conclude that said ancient either had some massive political pull from a revered position or was insanely persuasive, possibly both
Don't get me wrong here, Hermes could have done all that shit and more all on his lonesome, but what if this Speaker/Hearer ancient position having all but guaranteed seen Elpis, a literal staging ground for what is and isn't making it into natural habitats, tried to comfort his discordant soul that they could literally hear then inadvertently sent him down this path that led to the literal destruction of entire civilizations?
They'd explicitly have to be killed by final days shenanigans to not be reborn, which is unlikely given their circumstances, so even if they were split into 14 (or 13?) like everyone else was, they might still have that memory jumbling around or at the very least an eerie sense of ill ease that they were partly responsible for the universe getting completely fricked sideways. If they "retired" post final days but before the whole Mom and Dad schism they'd still partly be reborn down the line.
Realistically there's all but a 0% chance that Venat hadn't met or more likely befriended this character as well considering her unending 'venturin antics. More importantly is that Venat wouldn't be able to hide the Elpis events from them since they'd be able to detect any bullshit with their power. I know the whole ancients shit is "done" but I feel like there's still some interesting stories that could be told and motivations explained.
>garlemald with boring area and annoying quests (follow this girl who hates you, then she dies- now FEEL BAD!!!) >turn into zenos for 30min... then nothing comes of it and that's it >wacky ascian becomes zodiark then dies like 30% into the dlc (also he was amon btw) >go back in time to see wacky ascian was just some guy who made a bird that then got depressed and has been trying to kill the universe for years >go back to present, kill hydaelyn, then go to end of universe to kill the bird >fight zenos in a duty lol
It was just a shitshow all around. It had its moments but it was too much of a clusterfrick and was somehow both too long and too short
when Emet called Zodiark and Hydaelyn Primals, who DIDN'T think that:
1. They would both be part of the same trial series
2. Zodiark would be fought first
The English script of this game makes no fricking sense. >The boy's just not buoyant.
What? Boyant? What the frick does that even mean? He's not boyish because he looks like a girl? What? I shouldn't have to constantly google these archaic bullshit words. >Meanwhile, pic related
Clear, concise, and honestly... pretty hilarious. Alphinaud can't swim! Everyone from all walks of life, including those without an English major, can understand it. Beautiful. How dare Koji continue to frick with the masterpiece that is the JP script?
Koji has my respect unlike a lot of localizers, and I won't bash the dub, however I know enough japanese to tell when the localization is not accurate.
I know this is bait but the direct translation unironically makes more sense with how the scene is framed here. There's like a dramatic zoom on Alisaie when she repeats that Alphinaud can't swim, which only makes sense if she's comedically over-emphasizing a trivial advantage she has over Alphinaud. The buoyant line kind of erases that.
The whole argument for female Azem is just because people want her name to have been Persephone to match with Hades, and it's really funny because Hades is gay as frick bro.
>The whole argument for female Azem is just because people want her name to have been Persephone to match with Hades
That's stupid. My argument for female Azem is that I play a female WoL. And I headcanon Azem's name as Odysseus.
Whether Azem was a man or a woman their name would likely be Helios or Apollo/Appolonia because of the Sun
I always liked Atlas for Azem because it's a double entendre by suggesting strength and being related to the planet, but also the word for a book of maps.
>tfw you realize Odin is called an eikon and not a primal because a parallel is being drawn between Zantetsuken and the Allagan eikon-binding devices in Azys Lla
so was Zantetsuken an Ancient invention, or an Allagan one?
>1.X story was almost as barebones as a typical fighting game, but what was there was really good >2.X story is overhated by how terrible the worst bits are, but everything between defeating Titan and Leviathan is top tier >3.X story is the best >4.X story is the worst >5.X story is overrated but still quite good, deserves the #2 spot >6.X story is very nearly as bad as 4.X
Simple as
You are right, keeper of the lake is kino, but there's just too much shit between here and there for me to lump it in with the good part of ARR. Calling stuff like the leadup to Titan "okay" is too generous.
it's unironically much better than the stuff that comes right before it and has a direct point
it's not the BEST narrative but still, it's passable for ARR level of stuff
I really liked Titan's questline, I thought the payoff totally redeemed it. The stupid things you were just sent to do was all training and testing, and you got a payoff with your own banquet for success.
but that filler actually has a point, you're doing stuff to prove to heroes you aren't a crybaby or whatever
there is worse filler before AND after and yet people almost never bring it up, and if they do it's just the garuda aether
I just got to Stormblood and nothing has been good. Heavensward was excruciatingly bad >DRAGON BAD >NO CHURCH BAD AND DRAGON GOOD >SO SAD SORRY DRAGON >MUH ALA MHIGO
gay
Thordan betrayed them in the first place because he heard that Midgardsormr planned to pass stewardship to Nidhogg and that scared the shit out of him because Nidhogg already hated mankind for what they did to Bahamut and Tiamat. Nidhogg was way past the point of justified revenge by the time you get on the scene, with it being revealed that he could have ended Ishgard any time he wanted and instead chose to extend the war so he could have an endless supply of innocents to torture. It's not CHURCH BAD DRAGONS SAD.
I don't remember Lyse's clothes showing off so much ass crack, with Minfilia's ARR clothes also showing crack I think the devs have something for blondes showing off ass
beast tribes were the first thing I did when I started so besides the proo I haven't had them since 2020
omicrons look like it'll be fun but I hope they update islands more than once a patch, 8 weeks is already a bit much for this, let alone 16
I was talking about 6.25 not waiting an entire extra patch
someone found new island shit in a datamine and I don't think they put that stuff in THAT early, same patch put in the omicron music so hopefully
if it's every other patch then it's super dead, even every half patch (assuming it'll still take 2 weeks at a casual pace to max everything) is a bit straining
Oh yeah well hopefully we get something for 6.25. Personally I think they pushed IS out in the .2 patch because it had been so long and they couldn't delay it any more. Hopefully that means they had something for 6.3 they can just push out for 6.25.
Nidhogg is a dark dragon and Hraesvelgr is a light dragon
Bahamut seems to be pure magic or elementless
That leaves a fire dragon, ice dragon, lightning dragon and earth dragon in the First Brood
Also wind dragon and water dragon
Hraesvelgr might occupy the spot of an ice dragon since it's closest to light elementally
What the hell was dark closest to on the elemental wheel
The lore book says that the Allagans used Bahamut to absorb solar energy because he has an affinity for fire.
Also wind dragon and water dragon
Hraesvelgr might occupy the spot of an ice dragon since it's closest to light elementally
What the hell was dark closest to on the elemental wheel
>What the hell was dark closest to on the elemental wheel
Lightning, but Nidhogg uses more fire than anything.
I think the 7.0 cataclysm will be Noah Gabranth coming back to build his even greater than Garlemald empire with allagan tech and he'll be winning against all opposition. But eventually he'll go to use Tartarus and something will get fricked up and it'll open a rift that's way too big and will swallow up a huge portion of ilsabard, just like what happened to Gohg at the ridorana lighthouse. This is why they still have clouds over ilsabard on the map, because they don't want us getting use to it before they blow it up. 7.0 will have us based in Corvos on the southern edge of ilsabard, just outside the damage zone of the rift. We will be entering the rift and exploring that place, or fighting what comes out of it.
Too bad for them. Raids are just one part of the game, and it's not anymore important than any other. People only think it is because streamers and YouTubers promote it more. All content is important and should be available for use where the devs see fit. This is not the raiders game, they merely exist within it.
I don't think they'd need to make it necessary. Even Crystal Tower wasn't necessary until like 5.2 or something and the dialogue would change slightly if you had no idea who the frick graha was or what a crystal tower does. So I think Ivalice mandatory to introduce the character and then just "the bad guy was up to some shit" if you haven't done the Save the Queen shit
I thought about that and really since the player didn't interact with him you could just have us act the same upon finding out he is alive even if the player did bozja or not. Have the MSQ just go over his history and shit, with maybe a little nod to the player like" I'm sure you remember the horrors the 4th was capable of during your time in bozja" and then everyone is on the same page after that.
The only problem is that we can't kill Noah during the MSQ because the player might do bozja after.
Ivalice should be mandatory already, there is too much world building there to ignore it forever.

All the XI ripoff stuff in the lore is post-ARR. It's only the races that are the same and that was a marketing decision because they wanted to funnel all the XI players to the new game.

most of the XI ripoff stuff is so wildly different the comparison is more of a reference anyways, the echo is more capable than the whisper of the soul and the circumstances of the world sundering + two god system are incomparable
even overt stuff like the cardinal virtues vs. the ark angels is totally different in function

Oda was put there as a collaborative effort and he mentioned he didn't want to do that. He's a lore writer and not a scenario or character writer.

The story wasn't even hated, it was just presented as wordswordswords and even those words were nestled in shit you didn't want to pay attention to like the ramblings of a theater queer.
The only thing I ever saw people complain about was how useless we somehow were and how our totally not a traitor was the hero of the hour and even an entire nation. Remember if you wanna defeat the wol just bring a fricking GUN
> Noah is unstoppable with Allagan war tech >we have to travel to meracydia to talk to the only people who know how to fight the allagans >7.0 is basically storm blood but with dragons and allagans and rift bullshit at the end
Frick it, omega can help too while we are at it.
I've always wondered what they meant when they said Gabranth had "forbidden" Allagan tech. I can only assume because of Diabolos armament that he found the Allagan shit that was made after they started working with voidsent and all their shit is powered by trapped voidsent or something like the mhachi did?
Maybe we are going to the 13th right now to help us develop an emotional connection to the void, so we care when we find out some of it's people have been trapped as batteries for thousands of years. Maybe this is why Golbez is on a crusade for redemption? Maybe zero will join the scions to help save her people that she will inevitably come to care about by that time?
If Gabranth opens a nation-wide rift, what would happen if Golbez found out about it and used it to stage his invasion against the oppressors on the source?

The fact that the big twist with Gabranth in his source game is that his has a twin brother just leads into this perfectly and is a great way to show how fricked this guy is. Reveal to the player that he let his twin brother die in his place so he could continue his mad climb to the top.
Maybe he was being a dick to Lyon because he knew Lyon would try to kill him. Later after Lyon realizes he's been rused he starts to fight against Gabranth. Lyon could be our guy on the inside if he approached us for an alliance(this is also an excuse to have a beast master teacher in eorzea)

Lyon was clearly plotting with Gabranth just prior though. They were moving into the next stage of their plan.

Yeah, but I feel like Gabranth might have been only half plotting with Lyon while secretly using him. The fact that months later Lyon shows up out of the blue to turn in Gabranth head scientist seems to imply maybe they aren't working together or at least they don't see eye to eye on everything. We know Lyon is not a scheming kind of guy and he doesn't like the science dude in the first place. It could go either way I think, it's vauge what they were scheming. Either he worked with Gabranth to fake his dead or Gabranth tricked him to fake his death and threw Lyon under the bus.

>Lyon could be our guy on the inside if he approached us for an alliance(this is also an excuse to have a beast master teacher in eorzea)
The one issue here is that after Heavensward new job unlocks are all available in the three original citystates the moment you hit the required level, regardless of msq progress so as to not artificially gate the player. You can't have Lyon just chilling around Ul'dah offering to train you as a beastmaster the second you hit level 80, or buy a jobskip to 80 for another job if you've never met the guy

That's a fair point. I still think it's be cool to get some beast master story rep regardless of playability. Have a scene where he brings Dawon JrJr into some fancy meeting hall and the guards don't know what to do. His bluntness talking with the citystate leaders would be refreshing to see. Lately everything has been so dry and hug boxish with those guys.
I would rather our base of operation for 7.0 be an actual city version of AlaMhigo. Corvos can be our end game tome place, but Ala Mhigo deserves to be a real city by now, next to Sharlyan and Ishgard, to cap off the original 6. It would be a good starting point to exploring ilsabard too.
Being completely honest I wouldn't have been able to get past level 14 of this game if I didn't have friends already playing who I wanted to catch up with. Jumping puzzles are actually the pinnacle of gameplay offered and while it was fun to be resubbed for Moonfire tower my sub time ran out and its good to be free of the game for god knows how long, maybe a year.
Is there a grand list of games they've ripped models from? Off the top of my head I've seen shit from:
XI (a good 50% of the monster library)
XII
XIII
XIII-2
XV
NieR
Type-0
Mainly curious if they yanked anything from X/X-2 at this point or other SE properties.
Probably will happen eventually but since the "real" version of that fight is the FATE not the Trial, it seems low on the priority list. I'll take Shinryu though
I gotta wonder how souls work in XIV. I'm pretty sure the ancients couldn't make them, but all the races have them right? Even like kobolds and shit? Could Azem's reincarnation have been a Kobold?
Souls are generated by the planet if an entity abides by the laws of nature. Azem could have reincarnated as a beastman, yeah. There's a sahagin with the Echo which means his soul was an Ancient.

TL;DR: Endwalker ending was terrible.

I am going to entirely disregard the opinions of some homosexual playing the groomer race with their signature being their character in a fricking sports car while wearing a leather jacket and a fricking sports cap.
>groomer race
You mean Hrothgar?
Right, I forgot it's both nowadays.
My blood churns at how 35+ year old fat gay furgays playing Hrothgays prey at 12-16 year old boys choosing the beast race because they just think they look cool, it is fricking vile a d I would personally neuter every fricking Hrothgay with a dull gunblade if I could
Yep, checks out.
Who farted on your faces today.
Same homosexual completely lost his shit over G'raha eating a burger. The cognitive dissonance of these morons is hilarious.
This guy has to be a troll right? Surely he knew who Angelise Reiter is.

Concern-trolling chud/TERF detected.
There was nothing wrong with Endwalker.
>"you can't have a story that's all climax"
>EW is an amazing capstone to 10 years of adventure
where's the contradiction
>and also should be treated as an independent story of it's own because reasons
show me where on the doll the EW bootlicker touched you and said this
24/7 go go go hurry hurry hurry is stupid even within the context of the story, let alone for an extended 10 levels of story

The issue he had were the creatures that were made and then just killed for no reason other than "Too predatory". The Meteion's died while pursuing a goal, its not the same.
He threw all the animals in Hyperboreia into the meat grinder just to buy himself time to think alone.
Well, that's on you. You didn't need to kill those animals, you could have just let the man think.
He didn't even need to run off, he could've just asked Emet to have some time to think while the other Meteions were flying back.
He's an author self insert. Notice how he looks just like Ishikawa?

having a samurai is not restrictive sams are everywhere
Bro you can literally just look at fflogs and click statistics.
And having to run a single specific class in a role sure as hell is restrictive.
Even from week 1 people were clearing running double melee with SMN/RDM as their caster. If they didn't have to run BLM then no class was making clears impossible so long as the flexible dps was melee, even if you made every single "wrong" choice.
>Bro

RAIDgay TRANCE!
data is skewed by number of parses on dancer being much, much higher than bard and especially machinist

Never forget that Azem abandoned the convocation because he thought what they were doing was wrong.
Azem is a she
The last Azem was a male. Midlander is male, so Azem is male.
Azem actually changes gender based on what your WoL and presumably looks similar to your WoL. That's why you will never see Azem in MSQ.
Yes, but the canon WoL is the male midlander from the trailer, thus Azem is male. Same reason Ardbert is male.
No the canon WoL is Y'shtola, the midlander is just her Stand.
Canon is fem miqo'te
I roll my eyes at you, you basic b***h.
Provide concrete evidence of this claim.
Its from an interview awhile back.
Yoship said that going by player statistics, the Canon WoL would be a Female Miqote Samurai as it's the most common race and class
"would be" does not mean "is". I'm sure your transition is going fairly well, though. Don't forget to dilate.
Its a joke Black person calm down
It's the closest there is to having any canon WoL, though. There's been no official statement on a canon WoL otherwise.
>Yoship said that going by player statistics, the Canon WoL would be a Female Miqote Samurai as it's the most common race and class
That's literally me.
There is no canon WoL and there never will be because Japs will do everything but declare something is canon when players have an option. Ardert was their way of putting the guy from the trailer and his friends in the game, that's as far as they will go.
And yet they continue to use the Midlander even for Endwalker. Give it up, for all intents and purpose the canonical WoL is the trailer Midlander.
Yeah this is just like tortanic where they keep shoving male JK into trailers.
>autists still think the promotional character is what's canon
on the other hand the closest to a canon WoL we've gotten is a catgirl because it's what yoship actually said in an interview
>on the other hand the closest to a canon WoL we've gotten is a catgirl because it's what yoship actually said in an interview
He said if they went by the statistics, but they don't hence why you don't see a catgirl in the trailers. Cry all you want, Azem is a male.
we HAVE a WoL.
Either you have to accept there is no canon WoL or that it would be a catgirl if they did try to make one. The fact that they didn't even mention trailerboy is pretty sad.
Here is the official 1.0 recap video included with the ARR CE.
COPE.
They made an official recap video yet they didn't bring him up when talking about a canon WoL. Curious, don't you think? Accept that your WoL will always just be stuck in promotional material hell unless you yourself make your WoL look like him.
Hey that’s kinda what I sort of did, though I mainly just wanted my dude to be a boring straight cis while male
Theres no point in crying about it, I play a femra, characters in game call azem a woman. I will never interact with characters calling azem male, and will never see azem on screen. whether you refer to azem as male or female doesn't matter, I will refer to azem the way they are referenced in my game.
In a similar vein I pronounce Krile Kururu and pronounce Venat Venesu
This is the same line of thinking trannies go through
>In a similar vein I pronounce Krile Kururu and pronounce Venat Venesu
You are literally autistic and your opinion should be discard at each and every opportunity. Either I suppose it'll never matter, because of people like you, we will never actually learn Azem's name.
frick off I play japanese dub, I have working ears, thats how they say those names, krile doesn't fit lalafel naming conventions kururu does, Venat theoretically has the same etymological root word as Venus anyways and Venesu isn't a correct spelling of venus but still sounds nothing like "venat"
I type the names how they are localized and you will never hear my voice.I don't give a shit that FF5 and 12 localized those names poorly first.
>krile doesn't fit lalafel naming conventions
it literally doesn't. and she is the only lalafel in game with a non-lalafel name, /unless you are playing in japanese/ because kururu is a lalafel name. yeah I know she's fricking adopted. That will never change the pronunciation in the JP dub.
How would you know the pronunciation of the JP dub though? You've outed yourself as a cutscene skipper.
Krile has a line in the English script where she mentions that Krile isn't her given name, just one she took to fit in better with Sharlyan culture
Yeah I know she's adopted. Papalymo didn't need to take a name change just because he lived in sharlayan.
Krile's name is Krile becase it was that in 5. and 5 came out back when more localization changes were made in a script. It's the same localization change then as it is now. Her name is still clearly pronounced Kururu in japanese.
https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxZlWgpMBdvghipaAzjpDbi138SoFtlUA_
she's literally only a lala because her name in 5 fits the lala naming convention, but they didn't want to change what her name was in 5 here so she's got a non lala name
>I play japanese dub
Sure, but do you read the game in English? And even then, do you use other Engrish in your day to day life? If not then you're kind of a joke.
>Also if Krile's last name was Brile it'd fit lalafell naming conventions just fine.
There's more to Lalafell naming than just rhyming. Dunesfolk women follow a "AAB AB" syllable pattern while Plainsfolk women follow "ABB AB".
I call Venat Venesu because her name isn't actually venus but its also not venat. Venus makes more sense but not perfect sense in terms of the story considering every other ascian is a greek name while venus is roman. but her name isn't a correct spelling in japanese.
I don't know how backwards your thought process was in this moment, I'll assume you aren't moronic. If I listen to characters pronounce her name Kururu while reading krile, I know the localization got fricked at some point in the distant past.
>I call Venat Venesu because her name isn't actually venus but its also not venat. Venus makes more sense but not perfect sense in terms of the story considering every other ascian is a greek name while venus is roman. but her name isn't a correct spelling in japanese.
But I thought you said you called Venat Venesu?
>I just said thats how I say it out loud
But I still don't understand why you're purposefully saying a name wrong just because the Japanese say it wrong? Like you obviously know that Venusu = Venus because there's no other word it could be and it's obviously not a Japanese word.
You are ridiculously fricking moronic holy shit
azem is whatever gender your player character is moron
Azem also refused to work with Venat. He didn't lend support to either plan.
He was busy fishing and didn't receive communication
Oh I agree, but not enough to stop her. With the Convocation he had to actively turn his back on them, so Zodiark Trance comic doesn't make sense. There's a small difference in not agreeing to help someone vs turning your back on someone, but it's there.
Thats just the story that Venus told her sacrifices. She needed Azem to reincarnated for the time loop to happen. Azem can't be Hydaelyn nor can he be one of the sacrifices.
Then why wouldn't the Convocation have been fine with Azem's crystal?
I think it's more that the Convocation expected support while Venat asked. He also had responsibility to one but not the other. He rejected that one and didn't even bother replying to Venat. So I don't think you can really read into it whether he thought better of the Hyd plan vs the Zodiark one.

These people have never played an actually imbalanced game. And I bet most of the complainers aren't going to clear until week 8+ anyway.
No, you don't understand, it's the job balance that's the problem and not their inability to do fights consistently without dying or taking damage downs.
they should have the opening cinematic for each expansion play the moment you accept the first quest in a given expac tbh
The mood ring flower is an accurate tool for measuring that so yeah.
The Elpis flower reacted to strong/extreme emotions. Just because everyone wasn't running around in autistic sperg mode like Hermes doesn't mean they weren't feeling emotions.
Even FRICKING LAHABREA, the most stoic and apathetic ascian character has emotions, the pandaemonium raid story is all about a kid with daddy issues and his dad .
Emotionally apathetic =/= no emotions at all.
dude, lahabrea's son almost sacriiced his own life trying to ressurect his mom.
Lahabrea killed his wife because she went full moron with her research and sealed his memories and emotions afterwards because of that.
>dude, lahabrea's son almost sacriiced his own life trying to ressurect his mom.
You missed the part where Erichthonios's intense emotions regarding Athena and Lahabrea weren't natural and were the reason Elidibus was suspicious she was fricking with his head in some way.
>object that explicitly reflects the emotions of those nearby
>when other Ancients stand near them, there's no reaction
>"but look they smile that means they're happy!"
Autism.
Somebody didnt watch/read pandaemonium raid story. Even lahabrea, one of the most "apathetic" ascians isnt emotionless.
he was so anti-emotion he literally split himself in half and stuck his emotions in the basement, and Eric has his daddy issues precisely because Lahabread is so emotionally distant
He had to seal away the knowledge, and the parts of himself that got mixed with Athena, not so much the emotion.
no one said they can't feel emotions, just that on a cultural level they discourage showing them and suppress feeling them as much as possible. Which made Hermes sad, Eric mad, and Azems weirdos who wander off on adventures.
And it was proven to be the right decision because they were way too powerful, and emotions can make people do stupid shit like what hermes did.
You dont want such powerful beings that are able to create and manipulate life to make stupid decisions because they are depressed.
So this is basically Jedi vs Sith shitflinging all over again
Being too "emotional" is what almost destroyed the universe, Hermes depression almost annihilated the entire universe.
Cope.
Yeah we should really delve into the musings of a genocidal robot who lives only to fight
Hermes's actions allowed Etheirys to evolve to a state in which it would be immune to the ennui that killed every other planet in the universe AND as an added bonus his creation reseeded life across the dead universe. Hermes won.
People fail to realize what the distant future of the Ancients would be
The current iteration is not immune to that. His actions caused it to be pushed back massively in terms of timeline. There's nothing stopping it from happening again.
The only thing the sundered have is their ability to better grasp dynamis as an energy.
A genocidal robot who lives only to evolve into a more efficient killing machine.
>no counterargument
well I mean another part of his character is he is simply mentally unwell, he's clearly very depressed.
>Main character syndrome: The Character
It's funny how people screech about Venat/Emet/etc when this motherfricker is responsible for most of the bad shit that happens in the game and he caused the Final Days not once, but twice.

I know Dalamud was launched from the Burn, but I thought it was primal frickery that made it aetherically dead.
It was Emet who told everyone primals did it just to justify the imperial expansion in the name of the anti-primal crusade. The truth is that Amon stuck an aetherial blocker (the House of the Crooked Coin) into the Azim Steppe so the land in the Burn would be easier to lift up.
Huh, must've forgot.
Thanks anons.
The big thing in the Azim Steppe that redirects aether (built by the Allagans) was slowly draining the land in The Burn.

>as long as you don't step on some sacred flower that blooms once every thousand years the elementals don't give a shit in Gridania and the populace is generally friendly but a bit isolationist, as long as you're not a d*skwight or a moonc*t
gridania is the best city-state tbh
The Elementals mass killed Gridanians in 1.0 because Nael was bombing them. You don't have to do shit, if the moonies piss them off enough you're done.
You've already been using Amdapori white magic since you got Holy in ARR.
It's a big thing that casting Raise is enough to potentially kill somebody if they try to use their normal aetheric capacity built into their body, Red Mage needs to do fancy footwork to do the same with their own by "magnifying" their aether and I don't remember if Thaumaturges use atmospheric aether or not
Thaumaturgy uses the casters own aether, its the big difference between it and the until recently forbidden Black Magic
>and I don't remember if Thaumaturges use atmospheric aether or not
Thaumaturges use internal aether and use their astral/umbral stances to either accelerate the flow of aether or to slow it down for the sake of replenishing their stores.
>summoners get full summons too.
I'll believe that when we get Ramuh->Leviathan->Shiva added to our rotation and Alexander as a big DPS long cooldown boom button.
diverse summons is another thing but yes we could very much use it
Alexander will be an upgrade to radiant aegis
jk he's optional content so never ever
Bismarck or Ravana, then.
Alexander was unsummoned in the distant past when he dropped off Mide and Dayan so his aether lingers in the lifestream. And also the Twinning. Easy.
>optional content
he's 90% of the reason shadowbringers exists
BOOM
What's this?

GOOD MORNING SIR
LAKSHMI TRANCE
Well, there's at least decent odds she'll figure into one of the Criterion Dungeons, but I dunno if that will really count as a traveling companion per se.
Anon she's a child using an adult glamour.
This is what Koji had to say on it:
>Her age is- and I wrote this down - she is in her late twenties.
Probably got tips from the hag yshtola who says she is eternally 23.
She's using time magic to stop her aging
ain't no makeup in the world that makes a 10 year old look 28 while also making them taller
Kan-E isn't even tall.
b***h what, look at her when she's standing next to other padjals, she's using an adult body while the others use child bodies
Yeah I was about to share that, too. https://youtu.be/M_kVS46AfIs?t=2580
I don't think the methods have ever been confirmed so I guess the glamour thing is just a Mandela Effect. It's as likely as whatever other explanation.
She's still child-sized in height, frame, and build. And she's flat-chested. So the glamour, if that's what she's using, would be purely on her face.
Bayohne's come a long way.
>other world leaders don't respect her because she looks like a child
>one of the world leaders literally looks like a toddler
Imagine the sex where her glamour falls off mid way.
Kan-E-Senna? More like Kan-E-Sex
Why couldn't the ancients simply have created anti depressants?
Because even if they had he wouldn't have taken them.

The First was only in danger because it would vanish if the Source did.
don't think about too much ok
I'd assume each person is kind of "tuned" to the shard they left from so when you leave the space of the planet, you exit the parallel dimension bubble and enter the singular universe. On your way back, you will be sorted back to the shard you left from since your aether is most attuned to that one?
He didn't roger that

UOOOH
We got sylphs and pixies using glamours to look like Pixies. Its not hard to believe a Kan-E learned some glamours to slightly change her appearance
True, moogles and sylphs are both great with glamour magic.
Elementals too, but they used it to hide Amdapor

She was responsible for rejoining FF13ths world
Because she caused the Flood of Darkness in the Thirteenth.
What character that is dead or is otherwise "gone" do you think will be shoehorned into the next expansion?
Krile is joining so hopefully Galuf.
Birb daughter will come back.
Zenos is 100% coming back in some form or fashion
Zeno
We know she's still alive since we see her bird flying in mor dhona
Zenos is too popular and has way too many possible asspulls available for him.
>Meteion helps him
>soul transfer
>reincarnation
>getting Azem'ed
>WoL won't duel me until this end of days thing is sorted out
>I cant get my duel if WoL is dead
>ergo, I must help WoL kill the bird head lady so they'll finally pay attention to me and give me my duel.
Trust in Ishikawa to do it right
>What can you do after that?
New feature added to new game plus where Zenos can randomly show up and duel you at any time
>Meteion has no reason
>I'm not sure if they ever give a max range for body hopping
They actually do in the SMN quests.
Have him become a botanist so he can keep the scythe.
They need to start introducing some characters to kill off again so people feel some tension again.
so far only morons are questioning whether a character like zenos is actually dead, especially with zero confirming it again
Zenos fans are crazy and the devs don't have the stones to be more straightforward with them otherwise they might cancel their subs. Yoshi always uses phrasing like he was "left in space" the voice actor makes silly faces when asked about the future of Zenos.
he said he's not returning, and he said if you miss zenos so much, why don't you name one of your farm animals after him.
I hate Zenos, I am just aware of the shit surrounding Zenos and his fangirls because one is in my static and never shuts up about this shit
I love Zenos, but that boy is deader than dead.
So was Emet-Selch.
Yeah and his ass still is dead. He came back for a second then went back to being dead.

How is Lavos more likely than Xehanort?
>next KH game gets a FF14 world
>FF14 gets a tie in questline where you see the events from WoL's point of view
mite be cool
I just want organization 13 weapons. FRICK PUT THEM ON THE 13th
Theres a theory that the Endwalker relics will have a stage that's FF reference weapons, due to Gilgamesh having business in the rift, alongside his general connections to the Manderville family.
Depending on how KH connects to the FF uni/multi/whateververse you might get your wish
I hope the Manderville quests makes use of crafters again
Nomura barely wants to include FF characters in any capacity to begin with and you think a whole world would be feasible?
>Disney Hades meets FF14 Hades
>hades being mistaken for a xehanort clone
FF characters pretty much don't appear at all anymore in KH so this probably won't happen unfortunately
I get that the licensing issues are a nightmare, but if cookie run kingdom can have a disney crossover event I don't see why Square can't get KH crossovers.
>Donald and Goofy show up alongside Sora
>Everyone they run into assumes them to just be members of Beast tribes not native to Eorzea and are more confused about Sora's grossly oversized feet

you know, the planets in kingdom hearts are a similar cosmological system to the stars in 14.
including them being shattered remnants of a world that was once whole
I could see it as some spin-off alliance/eureka story content and that's it.
I can agree with that considering palace of the dead.

It's funny how much more invested the audience is in Zenos than the WoL is. In case you forgot most of the scenes in the game with Zenos are happening somewhere else, to the WoL he's just some crazy guy they've had like 5 short encounters with.
How about Zenos just stays dead instead of all this stupid shit you gays keep suggesting
How about no
Zenos is clearly dead. I think the idea that Zero is Azem's reflection from the 13th and he specifically chose to force a pact with her is a decent continuation.
but what about OTHER zenos
Zenos WILL return
Emet and Hythlo WILL somehow have fujo antics in the next expansion
He's moronic
>Whatever you imagine you would've done if you were Azem is probably the closest we can get to the truth
Azem was creating new and exotic monstergirls to frick?
Trailer WoL confirmed for Canon WoL.
Actually deconfirmed, because several years have not passed in game. in fact 1 year has not passed in game because alphinaud and alisae haven't actually aged out of being teenagers.
I don't know the stats but I thought at least 1 year had passed. Scions also spent 6-12months in isekai world too
So the Echo is just like FOXDIE and causes you to age faster.
>tfw see pajals and their doofy hearing / speaking powers
>ponder where they might take this power to hear spirits and shit from besides just meme elemental lore (you see them being created in Elpis too they are smalltime)
>realize that there was, most likely, at least 1 Ancient who could hear and speak to souls / nature / ect
>somehow the ancients fast tracked onto a course of trying to add onto and improve the world and nature itself with creationism
>a gambling man would conclude that said ancient either had some massive political pull from a revered position or was insanely persuasive, possibly both
Don't get me wrong here, Hermes could have done all that shit and more all on his lonesome, but what if this Speaker/Hearer ancient position having all but guaranteed seen Elpis, a literal staging ground for what is and isn't making it into natural habitats, tried to comfort his discordant soul that they could literally hear then inadvertently sent him down this path that led to the literal destruction of entire civilizations?
I know the whole ancients shit is "done" but I feel like there's still some interesting stories that could be told and motivations explained.
>garlemald with boring area and annoying quests (follow this girl who hates you, then she dies- now FEEL BAD!!!)
>turn into zenos for 30min... then nothing comes of it and that's it

It was just a shitshow all around. It had its moments but it was too much of a clusterfrick and was somehow both too long and too short

That slide is actually from John Crow, the guy who famously fricked Haurchefant's character.
>That slide is actually from John Crow, the guy who famously fixed Haurchefant's character.

I always liked Atlas for Azem because it's a double entendre by suggesting strength and being related to the planet, but also the word for a book of maps.
Whether Azem was a man or a woman their name would likely be Helios or Apollo/Appolonia because of the Sun
Gonna start progging p5s tonight with the static. Any hot tips, bros?
Yoshida said that starting next expansion they'll start using a female for the WoL placeholder

Zantetsuken is like Save the Queen
Allagan, Zantetsuken is a creation of Eureka.

keeper of the lake is kino and everything besides qiqirm moonshine and garuda aetherstones is ok at worst
The stupid things you were just sent to do was all training and testing, and you got a payoff with your own banquet for success.
everyone seems to hate them (and they aren't good or anything) but forget the infinitely worse filler before it
People remember it because it's where the filler is really starting to get on people's nerves, and the game seems to be rubbing it in.
but that filler actually has a point, you're doing stuff to prove to heroes you aren't a crybaby or whatever
there is worse filler before AND after and yet people almost never bring it up, and if they do it's just the garuda aether
I just got to Stormblood and nothing has been good. Heavensward was excruciatingly bad

>SHIVA AND BADDRAGON DILDO
>FOREFATHERS BETRAY DRAGON
SAD
>NIGNOG MAD
>1000 YEAR OF FIGHT SO SAD
Wowee
Thordan betrayed them in the first place because he heard that Midgardsormr planned to pass stewardship to Nidhogg and that scared the shit out of him because Nidhogg already hated mankind for what they did to Bahamut and Tiamat. Nidhogg was way past the point of justified revenge by the time you get on the scene, with it being revealed that he could have ended Ishgard any time he wanted and instead chose to extend the war so he could have an endless supply of innocents to torture. It's not CHURCH BAD DRAGONS SAD.
don't argue with shitposters
>>NO CHURCH BAD AND DRAGON GOOD
>>SO SAD SORRY DRAGON
Yes
heavensward was honestly fricking mid in the base expansion and only started getting decent in 3.2-3.3
I have to be a gay BRD if I want to use bows, but at least I don't have to look like one. Whats your best Ranger glams?
WoL, why don't you leave me an Widergelt alone so that we can spar
Have fun b***h, I'm gonna grab a fur coat and a ladder so I can head off to Ishgard and jump Aymeric's bone
I don't remember Lyse's clothes showing off so much ass crack, with Minfilia's ARR clothes also showing crack I think the devs have something for blondes showing off ass
ARR Minfilia was designed by the biggest assman in Japan.
ARR Minfilia had a hole cut in the back of her skirt to allow us to gaze upon her ass. Whoever designed her clearly had a thing for butts.
It was Akihiko Yoshida, same guy who designed FFXII, Bravely Default, and Nier Automata.
Please fricking announce 6.25 I am actually running out of beast tribes to grind my dailies are rotting now.
play something else for a while
i started up sekiro on my steam deck
I am. I'm playing that new Disney animal crossing clone.
beast tribes were the first thing I did when I started so besides the proo I haven't had them since 2020
omicrons look like it'll be fun but I hope they update islands more than once a patch, 8 weeks is already a bit much for this, let alone 16
I feel like Islands are definitely gonna be an odd patch update thing since the odd patches are usually casual/side content.
I've been grinding the ARR/HW beast tribes just because they sell Unidentifiable shit for anima weapons
>What the hell was dark closest to on the elemental wheel
Lightning, but Nidhogg uses more fire than anything.
>Lightning, but Nidhogg uses more fire than anything.
He does have an electric effect to his dark attacks, plus the glow on his EX weapons
bahamut is likely either fire or dark
fire just because he always uses Megaflare and Dark because he's well, sometimes Dark because big super dragon
He did count as an Astral/dark calamity
What's my chance on getting a party to run rabanastre unsyc right now
it'll take 30 minutes to an hour.
ALRIGHT BOYS...800 GLAMOUR SPOTS FILLED AND EVERY INCH OF MY INVENTORY FILLED WITH ARMOR.....IT'S TIME TO PURGE
Remove everything except DRG and DRK artifact armour. Keep all the DRG and DRK weapons, easy
>The actual Rift opens up
>GIlgamesh is now main story content as he helps us fight off shit from it
Mandatory Manderville, do it
raidgays are already seething over having to hit skip cutscene for 20 minutes to get their autism grind weapon
Too bad for them. Raids are just one part of the game, and it's not anymore important than any other. People only think it is because streamers and YouTubers promote it more. All content is important and should be available for use where the devs see fit. This is not the raiders game, they merely exist within it.
>MSQ relying on optional material
either ivalice and bozja becomes compulsory or something else
I could see them doing Ivalice, but forcing everyone to subject themselves to Bozja would be a no-go.
Bozja is easy-peasy compared to Eureka, and I could see it becoming canon if we had to fight Diablos yet again in the void.
wouldn't that make mhach mandatory, not bozja
yes
would also make amdapor mandatory
Diablo armament is the final boss of bozja
I mean, they made crystal tower mandatory
right but bozja
Ivalice should be mandatory already, there is too much world building there to ignore it forever.
ivalice and bozja are abandoned because the story introduced there was so universally hated it got matsuno taken off of 14
Bad or aimless writing getting staff purged would mean the whole of 1.X's writing staff got fired, but Banri Oda's still on.
Was Banri the lead writer for 1.0?
Not the lead writer, but he was on the lore team. The 1.0 lore lead was the same guy as XI.
That explains a lot. I assumed some dude just ripped off XI but it was actually that the XI guy couldn't be assed to make up new shit
Yaeko Sato is credited for that. He's still credited with writing in ARR but nothing after that.
banri oda DID get kicked off of the main story though, after the garbage fire of stormblood
he's still on the writing team just kept to chararcter stuff and nowhere near actual plot
Oda was put there as a collaborative effort and he mentioned he didn't want to do that. Probably for exactly the reasons the Ala Mhigan story (his part; Ishikawa is credited for some of the Doman half + Azim Steppe) was jilted, dry and boring. He's a lore writer and not a scenario or character writer.
He's still credited as lead story designer along with Natsuko for Shadowbringers and Endwalker
yea, he's a member of the main story team, he does lore and worldbuilding and stuff
he just doesn't actually do any scenario writing
But doesn't he still get to lock himself in a hotel with Natsuko and Yoshida and map out the MSQ
and 1.0 was so universally hated the entire game got deleted
what's your point
His point is somewhere over your head
The story wasn't even hated, it was just presented as wordswordswords and even those words were nestled in shit you didn't want to pay attention to like the ramblings of a theater queer.
The only thing I ever saw people complain about was how useless we somehow were and how our totally not a traitor was the hero of the hour and even an entire nation. Remember if you wanna defeat the wol just bring a fricking GUN
> Noah is unstoppable with Allagan war tech
>we have to travel to meracydia to talk to the only people who know how to fight the allagans
>7.0 is basically storm blood but with dragons and allagans and rift bullshit at the end
Frick it, omega can help too while we are at it.
>Omega-F becomes a scion
>finally learns how to have emotions and purpose again
>falls in love with WoL
pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease
Gabranth died on the way back to his home planet.
If you actually learn to read between the lines he isn't actually dead.
>If you actually learn to make shit up he isn't actually dead
yes anonymous his character card specifying the corpse found had a mauled face and didn't really match gabranth's description means he's for realsies dead
oh frick i am actually moronic my bad i thought you were talking about zenos
gabranth is probably alive though i don't know if they'll ever do anything with him again
i forgiv u fren
I hate Khloe so fricking much.
damn bratty cat
Is Zhloe's orphanage actually adopting out the kids, or is Zhloe just the one adopting all these kids?
It's a front for the sleeper agents being trained by Rowena so she can israelite you even harder.
>Rowena is so israeli that she will bankrupt her own orphanage with debt even though she owns the orphanage director AND the children
Jesus christ
I will frick Khloe so fricking much
Can Khloe be saved or has Rowena ruined her for life?
Don't worry, Rowena is sending her to Ul'dah to earn some gil for her at night.
Dissidia NT, Exdeath and Kefka's models (Neo Exdeath and God Kefka are original models)
Right, that raid tier slipped my mind.
Is that an Ace Ventura lalafell?
Maybe if you reverse the webm
Any Unreals you guys want to see in the future? I really want to see them bring up Odin, a rather forgotten fight.
Probably will happen eventually but since the "real" version of that fight is the FATE not the Trial, it seems low on the priority list. I'll take Shinryu though
I have my ARR Fanta on my retainer just waiting for hrothgals to be unleashed upon this world
I gotta wonder how souls work in XIV.
Add Green Mage and Corsair jobs and Beastmaster as the second Limited Job, Yoshi.
