That entire general is entirely purry avatargayging, and unironic Blizzard astroturfing. /mmorpg/ finally killed any valid reason for anyone wanting wow discussion, or any mmo discussion, to post there.
>You will never use Feo Ul as a flying fleshlight on demand >She will never forcefully return the "favor" and use you as her personal wienersleeve once she becomes a mini giantess king (which means at least 6 foot long wiener) no matter if you like it or not
How do I cope with this, bros?
I really liked Feo Ul and it’s always been a bit of a shame to me that the WoL seems like he wants nothing to do with her, and that summoning her is always a last resort.
>randomly start to befriend some Japanese person I randomly met in Gridania on Jap servers a while ago >at one point we are talking about mounts (which later leads into us farming some stuff together) and I mention I have enough tokens to buy the haedelyn mount whenever that comes out >they say like "whoa you must really love her!" >I say something like "yes I wanna marry and have children with her" >they just laugh >later that day I learn that person is a girl
I fricked up didn't I
>If they're still speaking to you
We got to a point of doing stuff together every day in game including some dumb non content stuff like just jumping around in gridania trying to get on top of lamps and shit but eventually I let my sub run out cuz I got bored with the game and logging in to a game I wasn't in the mood to play JUST for friends stopped being enough after I've already been in that mode for quite a while. Ever since I stopped playing we haven't spoken anymore despite me still being in touch with some others like a literal Jap housewife which is chill as frick and still asks me when I'll come back. I hope she's doing ok.
>You are not gonna get that jap pussy
Well yeah, 0 plans of going to Japan. I was mostly joking with the frick up thing. From what I gathered she's a single OL or some such though.
I'm level 30 now and damn, is FF14 really the 'best mmo ever'?
I want to like it but god damn it's just a slog and I'm not sure if the writing got better that it'd really be worth my time anymore, what's the end game even like? Is it just grinding dungeons until your eyes bleed like WoW?
Story. Gameplaywise, most of the classes don't "bloom" until 60, or even 80. It's a really fricking slowrun, but if you won't get hooked at HW, I'd say drop it.
The dungeons are the best as far as MMOs can offer. The likes of TERA had god-tier ultra skill ceiling shit, but 99% of people don't like that. XIV dungeons are literally just like any other casual MMO dungeons like you'd find in WoW, except XIV is incredibly cinematic and has an enormous OST list.
it's not the best MMO ever, but it's the best MMO out right now, which really speaks volumes about the absolute state of the MMO genre right now.
It's not a bad game, but it has a TON of glaring issues
Heavensward and Shadowbringers are by far the best written expansions and for me the best RPG experiences I've ever had from playing games out of my entire life of 35 years.
Stormblood was ok, it had the problem is being stuck between two amazing expansions, it's just ok, although it does have some amazing level design, boss fights and of course it introduced a legendary character I won't spoil.
Endwalker was good, the writing was very emotional that is to say it knew it was playing with your heart strings but there was not enough game play for my liking, although the story was still strong, some of the best locations out of the entire game yet it still falls slightly short of Shadowbringers.
To summarise yes ARR is slow and jank but it's needed for context and trust me you will be rewarded with some of the best writing and characters out of gaming when you get into the expansions.
Sure but some Japanese/anime tropes annoy the piss out of me, is it still even worth it?
>certain scions are forced to always be left out of the party if WoL is playing a certain class >this catnoy piece of shit just changes jobs, like he changes trousers to make sure he can always be part of the group
It's a miracle no one has strangled him yet
Come on, even Shtola agreed to heal in post-EW, it's not their fault no one knows how to tank. Who'd even do that aside from Thancred, Alisaie?
I mean I'm not going to be the most objective person to ask I've put in 1.2k hours into the game. I'm going to say yes it's worth it just for sunk cost fallacy alone.
I'll just say for me, the game was a fricking slog through ARR it was very old and didn't quite work, but I stuck through it hearing how good the expansions are if I just stuck it out, but once I hit Heavensward the game really started to hit good for me, story, content, locations, settings, characters fricking got me hard.
I loved Heavensward, I'm replaying ARR now and can't wait to hit it again.
It really depends on what you want from a game. You get out what you put in is what I'm saying.

More like Warrior of Light and Light "powers" were a rigged meme right from the start.
what are you looking for?
The story is either very entertaining if you're interested and can get into it or the most boring slog ever if you don't. Both dungeons, trials, and raids end up becoming pretty much a spectacle (starts in HW, they go full in on this format in SB) and they are genuinely fun because of it, but they are all piss-easy. The endgame fights are mostly about memorizing and being able to do your rotation correctly while resolving mechanics. It's pretty much trial and error. It has quite a bit of side content that can be quite different from the normal game. PvP is pretty much a minigame

20% nerf across all arr dungeons happened with HW release, for starters. But arr 50lvl hard dungeons were still okay.
SB nerfed things even further into ground.

Really wish they would go back and buff the Crystal Tower raids. Let people learn the absolute nightmare of the adds during Glasya Labolas.
Who the frick is this moronic avatargayging lala who keeps showing up to spam his hideous OC in every XIV thread on Ganker lately? Is this some /xivg/ reject like the pinklala who 24/7 spams /wowg/ and /mmorpg/ because I've never seen this homosexual anywhere but these threads on Ganker.
She, alongside all scions, are deeply emotionally bonded to you and she wishes you safety and warmth while being polite.
No, it is nothing sexual. But she would hug the shit out of you if you asked to in this private moment.
They can "want" as mush as they like, but in the end those frickers prefer to deal with trashmobs while I suffer from Barbaricca's crushing thighs alone with my imaginary (real) friends.
Everyone goes nuts over this scene, but it was so fricking dumb. I get that it was only for dramatic effect and not how the events really went down, but so many people barely remember what NPC's told them 10 minutes ago that by the time this scene happens no one even realizes how many errors there are. Even when you meet up with Hydaelyn later on she reconfirms stuff you learned at the end of ShB rather than what this cutscene showed.
thing is we have limits to healing magic established in ffxiv lore. the 'Raise' spell doesn't bring back the dead, it just wakes up people who are close to death. it can mend bones and muscle but it won't get your lost blood back. it only mends things time would naturally fix.
warcraft healing magic operates on miracles and has fixed things much worse than bad legs. it shouldn't be a problem to fix that dragon

Probably should've done this earlier in the season.
Kind of hard to do with his body being left to rot on the edge of all known creation. However if they DID bring him back, they'd probably do an Ardbert situation with him following you as a ghost that no one else can see.
When ascians die, and he is, by all standards, an artificial, and possibly even real, ascian in terms of mastering echo, they're free to go anywhere, without any need of a nearby body to stay alive. WoL didn't crystal'd him last time after all. And even then, as we all know by courtesy of Emet, the soul lingers, bringing a lot of possibilities for any kind of rebirth.

>they're free to go anywhere, without any need of a nearby body to stay alive
Ascians do need some kind of vessel because the Lifestream starts to tug on them. They just use their dark crystals as phylacteries while they port into the Rift if they're without a living body.

In retrospect I miss ARR times, simpler times. I didn't appreciate its sovl back then.
I don’t miss the Ascians in ARR, the most blatant “The writers don’t actually know what their deal is yet” enemies since Kingdom Hearts
Fricking Elidibus should have been there from the start guiding and manipulating your journey. Imagine how much better it would be if he was the one to direct you to the Scions, set you against the masked enemies you clear out, and lead you into becoming the Warrior of Light… only for your relationship to start fragmenting in HW as he tries to tell you to leave Ishgard and return to the Alliance nations, and eventually turning adversarial in SB and beyond. Instead
>Teleports in >Tells us that if we understood his point of view we would agree with him >Refuses to elaborate >Leaves
While I don't miss little shit ARR Alphinaud, everything did feel a lot livelier and innocent before that whole banquet deal happened
I legitimately never understood the hate for Alphinaud, I liked him from when we first met him in ARR to our road trip with him and Cid. He’s legitimately just going miles out of his way trying to make the world a better place, he’s putting himself on the line to make things better in a way basically nobody except Minfilia and you are.
we don't know if Altima is dead dead or just got forced out of a body. the fate of the remaining 5/6 ascians to me is prime msq material, especially since there's a decent chance a few of them would be like fandango and not want to restore the old world
They went from "all-knowing mastermind working for grey instead of dark/light" to "salty amnesiac kid who doesn't even know what his purpose is" in a heartbeat. And it wasn't an upgrade.
He was never an all-knowing mastermind. As early as HW he's scrambling to fix the Flood of Light to the point he has to ask Urianger to help him, and by the end of it he's realized he fricked up in letting you get too powerful so he starts to scramble to solve the problem of you.
>Same shit with how the new/next raid will likely reconcile the Lahabrea we know with the crackling moron from ARR and HW.
I mean just from what we've seen, it's easy enough to assume that the Lahabrea we dealt with in ARR/HW was Hephaistos, with Lahabre remerging with him to try and better deal with the Sundering, or that he somehow escaped, and took the place of Sane Lahabrea amongst the Unsundered
>Same shit with how the new/next raid will likely reconcile the Lahabrea we know with the crackling moron from ARR and HW.
It already did. We know now that Lahabrea had the red soul crystal in his possession in Azys Lla. Emet-Selch had the blue one in storage. That means Lahabrea absorbed the Athena-corrupted part of himself again. That also explains where the Ascians learned Echo immortality, since that's what she was researching.
>Same shit with how the new/next raid will likely reconcile the Lahabrea we know with the crackling moron from ARR and HW.

Sure, but there’s going to be more I’m sure, why would they set it with Azys La if not to use the Lahabrea still left behind there?
And of course, probably something like Athena discovering something that can turn them from the Ancients we’ve seen to the Shadowless Ascians they become.
I'd assume most of Alphy hate comes from his ARR EN voiceover. I couldn't stand him either, but thankfully I switched to JP on like 2nd voiced Scions cutscene.
ARR Alphinaud acts like a bossy know it all little shit, who treats you like his pet attack dog to get the other nations in line.
It's what makes Merlwyb putting him in his place when he throws a fit over the city states having far too much shit going on internally to support Ishgard, especially when the latter left the rest of Eorzea to rot when it came to the Garlean problem, so satisfying, and the fall from grace from the banquet, albeit the latter is marred with the rest of the Scions getting crippled/killed for his mistakes.
the crystal braves weren't in on the teledji side of the conspiracy. the banquet would have still happened. raubhan may have kept his arm if lolorito's bodyguard was different though
>ARR Alphinaud acts like a bossy know it all little shit, who treats you like his pet attack dog to get the other nations in line.
He absolutely doesn’t, he’s literally there when the Scions are destroyed pulling you up and helping you find a way to carry on, he’s your partner all the way to the end where you take the fight to Gaius. He makes one dumb joke at the banquet, and it’s very clearly a joke.
>It's what makes Merlwyb putting him in his place when he throws a fit over the city states having far too much shit going on internally to support Ishgard, especially when the latter left the rest of Eorzea to rot when it came to the Garlean problem, so satisfying
That’s legitimately the exact opposite of what you’re meant to get out of that scene.
Alphinaud goes to negotiate with Ishgard from a position of absolute strength and then, UNLIKE someone like Merlwyb he doesn’t use it, he listens to Ishgard’s problems and he knows that you need to save them, not bicker around the negotiation table.
And he then sees that exact attitude die when he brings it to the Alliance and they respond with the exact same “Their problem isn’t our problem” attitude Ishgard has had.
The Alliance isn’t wrong, but neither was Ishgard, and both need to change or all of Eorzea is fricked. That’s quite literally the reason he’s here. He doesn’t get “put in his place”, he accepts they’re being just as petty and he finds another solution, one that you’re a part of directly, and one that can finally start to bridge the divide between the nations.
>albeit the latter is marred with the rest of the Scions getting crippled/killed for his mistakes.
I love how every narrative about the Crystal Braves ignores that your character was part of it from the founding, supported it every step through and outright recruited people who later betrayed it. All the blame goes to Alphinaud instead, lul
>All of post ARR was a massive slog which justified itself by building up to some super conspiracy plot revolving around Nanamo >Culminates in Nanamo's "death" >Cue HW cinematic further hyping up this conspiracy by showing Lolorito in Ul'dah looking all menacing >Actually plya HW >Actually Nanamo's alive lmao >Actually there's no conspiracy, I actually just her life >Let's be cool now, mkay? >Everyone, even WOL, just agrees >Entire subplot that bogged down and made post-ARR such a nightmarish slog that filters sprouts to this very day was all for absolutely fricking nothing
Honestly the entire subplot was pointless not just because of this but because we didn't even NEED becoming a fugitive in Ul'dah to be a reason to go to Ishgard. We already HAD the build up with Shiva and the dragons, we already HAD relationships with people from Ishgard like Haurchefant. The reason for us to go to Ishgard and help them fight the dragons was already fricking there.
Why the FRICK did they waste so much goddamned time with this pointless subplot only to do absolutely NOTHING with it in the end?
>Honestly the entire subplot was pointless not just because of this but because we didn't even NEED becoming a fugitive in Ul'dah to be a reason to go to Ishgard. You want to know the worst part? The entire Nanamo subplot was written to mirror Game of Thrones Red Wedding. No I'm not making that shit up. The entire reason we got this bogged down post-arr shit plot was because someone on the writing team watched Game of Thrones and wanted to rip it off. Then they didnt't even have the balls to commit to it, rendering the entire thing meaningless.
That was the moment everyone with a brain should have dismissed any XIV fanboy who claimed this games writing is anything above average

You’re massively overselling how much of the post-ARR stuff was about the banquet or about Nanamo. Mostly you have to tie all the Crystal Braves stuff into it to even make it seem like a big deal, and if you excised that stuff then you need to do something equivalent to give Alphinaud his character journey.
Yes, HW copped out of killing off the Scions and Nanamo, but every other part of post-ARR from Yugiri to Midgarsommr to the banquet was relevant to the ongoing plot all the way to EW.
Unukalhai will be revealed to be Golbez' long lost brother and the would've been Cecil in a flashback, he can't actually personally get involved in the plot however because that would require players to do all the ShB role quests, and all of Eden
Yoshida already confirmed Gaia is coming back, and if you go talk to Unukalhai now he says he's going to go meet Ryne and Gaia. Content skipping gays are about to be on suicide watch.
They could if they wanted to. All they have to do is role requirements from the quests and tweak the solo instances appropriately. It's not like any of the quests have fricking anything to do with your role anyway.
>It's not like any of the quests have fricking anything to do with your role anyway.
So much fricking this. It became even more ridiculous in EW. Role quests were a mistake.
I'd say only tank shb did since it's a logical continuation of drk questline. But then again, I do consider drk questline being a legitimate and mandatory part of msq.
That’s such great dialogue, and another example of why it’s such a shame to be that we’ve never been able to actually change anything about Ul’dah.
Rhauban swore vengeance on the monetarists, and they were the ones to kill F’lahminn’s lover, and yet, everything just gets brushed over as “Nanamo becomes more “realistic” and it’s okay keeping the status quo.”
Everyone b***hes about Girdania, but Girdania largely treats its people well, and it’s very clear about the kind of city it is and what it’s culture is. It doesn’t let in all and sundry, it doesn’t exploit people, it doesn’t murder and kill in endless schemes and betrayal, it just tries to live in (occasionally fraught) harmony with the elementals and the forest.
>Rhauban swore vengeance on the monetarists, and they were the ones to kill F’lahminn’s lover
The monetarists didn't kill Niellefresne and that whole thing gets resolved in the ALC questline. >Girdania largely treats its people well >it doesn’t exploit people, it doesn’t murder and kill in endless schemes and betrayal
The 1.0 Gridania story was about groups of Wood Wailers suddenly vanishing. The explanation from the Seedseers was that those Wailers had committed great sins against the forest and had been dragged away and turned into monsters by the Elementals. In reality, the Seedseers wanted to secretly support Ala Mhigo against the wishes of the citizens so they were sending Wailers across the border to die and then shitting on them to their families when they didn't come back.
Nanamo at least is getting ready to really put the pressure on the monetarists using the historical treatises her ancestors, and the Thornes left at least, assuming you complete all of Criterion
Koji also confirmed that the reason they haven't filled Teledji's seat yet is because Nanamo is using her new power to block their attempts while she works on dissolving the Syndicate.

That and him telling WoL "frick off, this has nothing to do with you, go stand there while I deal with gaymon".
Memory holed. The betrayal lost all merit once the world began drastically changing, thus every bad guy Eorzean before that lost their entire purpose for doing anything as all underhanded profits were off the table.

So? Just move out of the mobs range. You don’t need cooldowns or anything up to the desert instances, you run faster than the mobs, just kite them around while the DPS kills them.

Yes they did, and no, it only put her at peace with his loss. Nothing changed otherwise.
there's easier ways to say you didn't do the ALC questline m8, you catch the guy who killed him with the cursed dagger and destroy it to let him finally pass on
I just did the Stormblood ALC quest line today. It says that Death’s Embrace assassins killed Nielle, and Mumuepo attempted to use Heartstrike on him. I don’t know who employs Death’s Embrace because I haven’t done the PLD job quests, but I assume that whoever hired them didn’t want Warburton resurrected by Nielle for whatever reason. Warburton knew about Dalamud before anyone else, so it could have been the Empire’s spy network in Ul’dah, or the Monetarists if they had some reason for keeping Warburton silenced.
>but I assume that whoever hired them didn’t want Warburton resurrected by Nielle for whatever reason
Nielle and F'lhaminn were both openly asking around about necromancy and that subject alone could have gotten them targeted by any number of groups, in addition to their plotting against the Syndicate.

Speaking of things shb did good and wrong, am I the only one who fricking despises Unukalhai+Taynor side quests? It looked good on paper, but execution is stupid as hell. I felt like I'm playing a badly written fanwork the entire time.

She’s just a product of Hien utterly failing his nation and running away to some backward country. I don’t feel sorry for her, she’s a pity and hateful human being just like Zenos said but let’s not pretend it’s all her fault for being a prostitute and using her good looks to rise to the top.
>She’s just a product of Hien utterly failing his nation and running away to some backward country.
Cool story Asahi. And it's totally not because she's a used goods of her own father who sold her in prostitutehouse and not because her siscon-brother was much more loved and cherished by her family.

Hien can’t be blamed for anything to do with Yotsuyu and his father did everything he could to appease the Garleans. Unless you’re going to throw it at his feet that he lost, but given that they were backed by Ascians, no nation in the world could have defeated them without the WoL.

Kaien had a lot of control over his own nation as long as he didn't piss off Garlemald, so he surely could have outlawed the debt slavery Yotsuyu was made victim to. Or he could have outlawed brothels I guess but why would he even do that? Really nobody but her parents are to blame. That Garlean officer was going to take both her and Asahi to the capital for an education and they told him to only take Asahi.

The Garleans if anything almost saved Yotsuyu from her future miseries, it's just that her adoptive parents were such spiteful pieces of shit, they'd rather force her to stay home working as a servant girl, and later selling her to be some homosexual's prostitute, than allow her to go to school like Asahi
You want to know why we have so many fake-out deaths in this game's story? It's because it's easy and cheap drama. You have a scene, something is happening, but it's not very interesting. What do you do? Do you try to rewrite the scene to be more compelling to watch? No, why do that when you can just have a character "die", have them shot and do a slow motion camera pan of them falling to the ground, have some other character yell "MIKOTO" or whatever and now you have "drama".
Oh wait, but you can't actually kill that character off, because you either need them for something later on the in your story, or corporate will not allow you to kill this character off because they sell too much merchandise, or you simply don't have the balls? Oh well, just have them be better the next scene. How did they survive a point-black gunshot to the face with no serious injuries? A frick it, just hand-wave it. Your audience is too stupid to think about it.
That's it, that's all it amounts to. Fake out deaths are what inept writers use as cheap and easy drama to spice up a scene, even when they know full well they will not actually commit to it, knowling wasting the viewer's time as they have to watch a slow motion camera pan of X character "dying" for the 1000000th time only for the next scene to show that they just "got better".
In short, Ishikawa is a fricking hack and you should all stop worshiping her.
I found Fray's rants in the HW questline about how much we hated going on sidequests, incredibly forced and pandering to players who like to play their WoL's as spiteful, and unwilling heroes

The Moogle quests are fine, especially nowadays, the Nier quests were worse than them.
I did like how the HW DRK questline was literally just Moogles singing at you to not be an edgelord though. Shame about, y’know, the SB and ShB ones.

Nier quests are trash but for different reasons. Moogles quests are a fricking FLOOD of "find my kupo nuts", "my friend is missing", "please fly to the other edge of the map for literally fricking nothing". Their tribe questline is alright tho.

Unlocking their beast tribes made me want to kill myself.
Absolutely agreed, I played a DRK explicitly for the story and I found it largely underwhelming and it completely soured my taste of it multiple times. It’s an interesting idea, but a very wonky execution.
I did find the JP version somewhat more palatable, since it removed some of the “You just slaughtered that guy in cold blood because he dared question you, WEAPON OF LIGHT!!!!” edgefest the English version indulges in.
Her entire writing style is to take the player character and force her own personal headcanon of your character onto them. The entire DRK questline and the whole Azem shit was exactly that. We aren't just our own character with our own personal headcanon, we're now the super speshul reincarnation of a super badass ascian. This is literal fanfic-tier writing.
>we're now the super speshul reincarnation of a super badass ascian
The only thing super speshul about Azem was that he could harness the power of friendship. Lahabrea, Elidibus, Emet, Venat, and even Hythlodaeus were more talented than Azem.
I love Ishikawa and hope she continues to write more for FFXIV, she is the only writer ( I should also mention Koji for translation) that has hit me in the /feel/s during the game. I love her work and hope she continues writing many more expansions and quest lines, stories e.t.c.
She is FFxiv to me.
The story does have way too many fakeouts and some (like Thancred vs Ranjit) are absolutely obnoxious.
But I’ll still respect it because it’s still been willing to kill off characters, even major characters as it’s gone. They shouldn’t fakeout like they do, but it’s not a toothless story like AoT or something.
How are you STILL not over this dude? It's been literal YEARS at this point. It's time you go find some professional help, this is not alright anymore.
if you could make adjustments to the plot what would it be
for me? zenos kills fujocat and yshtola when hes in your body
also emet selch gets genderbent into a milf
Emet-Selch uses his Gestahl look during ShB to scare away fujos which in turn saves us from the writers inventing Elpis time travel for the sake of fanservice.
>Solus yae Galvus
I'm replaying ARR and it's so weird to hear that he's still alive at the time of ARR, yes he's in ill health but the first time I'm meeting Mnfilia again he's still alive.
Such World building from the beginning of 2.0 really is amazing in retrospect.
>I wish fujocat died in 5.3 instead of having his character butchered.
What the frick was with that entire cutscene after beating Eldiibus? Even G'raha plainly spells out that he's not actually dying, and yet the entire scene, from the presentation, to the super sad music, tries to frame it as if he is. Topped off with the WOL looking the saddest they've ever looked after he turns to crystal, despite knowing we just got his soul safely inside the little soulscrystal.
I swear they actually intended for him to die there, wrote and composed the entire scene under that premise, then as they always do, chickened out, but rather than rewrite the scene, just kept it as it was so it still seems like he's going to die despite you knowing full well that he wont.
Please tell me this time travel stuff is going to have some consequences PLEASE I MISS THE HIGH RISK IN THIS GAME NOW IT'S JUST SHONEN TIER WRITING AAAAAAAAAAAA
I really can't see how the story has any weight or consequences to it at all, even before this time travel garbage they've been teasing real death and tragedy then backing off right at the edge. It's absolute drivel, they either need to commit to a light hearted adventure story, or follow through on making it a more serious epic, which means letting things happen such as Thancred dying in his fight against Ranjit, or Gra'ha dying as a martyr as the Crystal Exarch. The current story just won't commit to either archetype and it's really making the story fall apart at the seams, it doesn't have the fluffy, relaxed feeling of a feel good adventure story, nor does it have the weight and impact of a real epic, instead it just goes halfway on both themes and you end up with an unsatisfying, half hearted version of both.
They should've just let Exarch die, we never wake up our G'raha still sleeping in the Crystal tower, and let the promise we made to him back in ARR actually be fulfilled; Rather than wake up 200 years from now to a ruined world, he wakes up to a better world, a world that can properly handle the technology of the Crystal Tower. Literally what he actually fricking wanted. THAT would've been kino.
>People who started playing the game during ShB or did ARR years ago and only came back after they heard about ShB are somehow in love with some random NPC that wasn't even voiced.
Dumbest shit, I told him to go frick himself every chance I got in ShB for fricking with me during the Elidibus fight.

He wants an adventure now because Exarch hijacked his body. What life might he have led if he wasn't shouldered with that burden? Not important because Exarch wanted to live out a selfish fantasy.

He literally never shuts the frick up about what a great person you are. And not you as a person, but you as a concept. He is OBSESSED with the Warrior of Light he read about who did all these grand things. He doesn't see you as a person, only an ideal to worship and follow around. Three fricking times as he assumes he's about to die, his DYING WISH is to go on an adventure with his lord and god, the Warrior of Light. It's literally his only reason for living. It's demented.

He worships WoL not because he wants to be around, but because he wants to be a hero too. You are his real breathing hero model. And he even shows his newfound hero traits in EW, quite explicitly so, not to mention the entire Exarch arc. And don't forget it what your light that guided post-apocalypse Eorzea to time-travel tech. There are very specific reasons why he's so focused on WoL and not just some random legendary warrior.

Ishikawa saw the opportunity to get her heterochromia catboy OC out of obscurity and leapt on it.
How can the Exarch even exist when that means the WoL died which means he never went back in time which means that version of G'raha could not even have existed to begin with.
Minfilia gets to come back to the Source, besides just being brought to the aetherial sea, and is able to reunite with her mom and Tataru again, if they won't let her come back to life.

[...]
>Also: Ranjit and Thancred would have both died during their encounter. >The story would have made it explicit that the WoL just popped Lyse’s cherry during “that scene” in SB >Either keep G’raha as the Crystal Exarch and have him die there, or make him into a girl if he needs to be such a fawning simp. >Remove the silly edgy “Their souls were destroyed” stuff in EW >Put Venat back in the sea of souls along with Emet and Hythlodeus >Tighten up a lot of the wonky crafting storylines, like BSM 60-70 or CUL 50-60 etc >Rethink all the GLD and PLD questlines (you should fight on the bloodsands at least once as a Gladiator) >Move PLD back to Ishgard Knights most Heavenly as it was probably intended, as a religious Knight not just the Sultana’s bodyguard >Yugiri rejoins the Scions after Doma is safe and Garlemald collapses >NIN questline doesn’t become a slapstick comedy after lv60. SB NIN actually ties into the SB story and the revenge against the traitors >Remove Bozja >Remove Hroth >Remove Kan-E’s clothes >Put Lilja in the story regardless, maybe Omega
>NIN questline doesn’t become a slapstick comedy after lv60. SB NIN actually ties into the SB story and the revenge against the traitors
Don't touch my comfy beach episode questline
I didn’t find Karasu endearing or funny, I didn’t enjoy the plot screaming “Holy shit, isn’t he the coolest, smartest character ever!?” and having Oborou turned into a braindead slapstick moron, and Tsubame turned into a moron who gets molested for a joke was not an improvement for either character.
>First few times you fight Ran'jit he's literally invincible, can catch a fricking gunblade with his hand and not even be scratched >Literally have to leave Thancred to his death keep him from chasing us (as the WOL ffs) because he's that powerful >We just kill him the final time we face him (completely solo) >Zero explanation for his power beyond "I MASTERED GUKUMATZ", let alone for why we were suddenly able to casually kill him at the end
What do you even call this writing? Can you fuju tards defend this?
>We need a trolley to get to the place we need to meet OG Minfilia. >We finally get the Trolley up and running >It turns out its just to get through a cave we could've easily flown over
Final Days was a problem from inside the planet like they were originally hinting at, and most of EW is fricking up Terminus beasts like the trailers implied.
>certain scions are forced to always be left out of the party if WoL is playing a certain class >this catnoy piece of shit just changes jobs, like he changes trousers to make sure he can always be part of the group
It's a miracle no one has strangled him yet
Yotsuyu makes me sad we will never get proper eastern hyurs, forever stuck with the disgusting midblanders with awful haircuts and fluoride stares from 1.0 they will never fix
I want some absolute filler patch where in the first quest, the game does a fake 90k, and when you log back in you're back to the opening cutscene, except instead of a cart to the 3 starting cities, you're on a train to Garlemald. Just absolute what if dream sequence where you can talk to old man Solus, tell Varis he's an idiot for thinking his plan is somehow different from the Ascians, and do a dungeon with Zenos. And of course walk around the city before it was destroyed.
I'm happy you had fun in Stormblood anon, it has some amazing trials but the story just fell so fricking flat focusing so much on Lyse. Yet it does have some shining gems with Zenos and Alisia getting more attention. Stormblood is necessary yet it came after an amazing Expansion.
I preferred her ARR voice, Lyse got some moronic VA in Stormblood it felt like nails on a chalk board, (I'm English and her accent really went through me like a fricking chavvy slag).
It takes time for souls to be reborn, and the aetherial stagnation most likely slowed or even halted some of the Lifestream. Depending on how long the stagnation at the black rose sites lasted WoL's soul might not even have drifted away from their body by the time G'raha woke up.
Wasn't the implication taht the world was so utterly fricked post-8th UC that it was beyond salvaging, thereby completely ruining the Ascians plans since they basically killed the world permanently with that rejoining so any further rejoinings were rendered pointless?
Nah, it got better. It was just a very wide-reaching and drawn out umbral era. It's not the first time since the Fifth Umbral Era also lasted hundreds of years, and it's fitting that the Fifth was ice which is the closest element to pure light.
the bahamut calamity was honestly the outlier because he got contained before civilization got completely toppled by the devastation like it normally does.
Nah. Each calamity is a fricking calamity that basically destroy the entire world for a couple of hundred years. Why do you think there are like 1000 to 3000 years time between all calamities.
Calamity of lighting was so fricking bad that people literally had to hide underground for like 200-300 years. The calamity of light basically lasted 200 years and the world went back to normal. The 7th calamity happened, but im not sure if the ascian knows how and why the damage was so low.
>but im not sure if the ascian knows how and why the damage was so low.
Louisoix just so happened to "discover" a prophecy warning about the Seventh Calamity a mere 15 years before it happened. And he just so happened to be an in-depth expert on a type of magic literally nobody else understood.

Mealwhile... >WoW >all town NPCs (every last one of them) are either black or trans after recent updates >most important character in the lore is a trans scaly >new expansion is all about players being trans scalies too >even the new Evoker class's skillset is "trans coded" and focuses on switching between masculine and feminine body types >all player characters, even non dracthyr, are now forced trans after the gender changes to character creation

Dragoon is still the most based class in the game,

>play ARR DRG questline pre-HW >HW launches >5 mintues into hanging out with Estinien again I'm screaming at my monitor "Hey just going to fricking do IT again"
Drg is legit and the extra dialouge is great in HW, but seriously. the ARR questline is just beat for beat what happens in HW and I'm mad WoL can't call Estinien out asap for literally already having fricked up.
no, but we know there's a rework incoming and chances are they'll ruin DRG
I'm gonna be optimistic about the 7.0 drg rework because the endwalker monk rework finally made it an actually good class for the first time in the entire history of the game except for when they fricked up and let TK monk happen.
they've compared it to the shb nin changes which means they'll probably just do something about how you have 4 buffs and make jumps on the gcd so they can actually have impact and big potency again
MNK was improved, but SMN was ruined. And yeah I know the old SMN was a fricking mess, I didn't enjoy it. But the new SMN is fricking braindead. I mean, RPR is also braindead, but when compared to SMN it looks like playing Made of Fire on DDR
new summoner >hit ruin 3 a lot while summons do things
old summoner >hit ruin 3 a lot and sometimes hit the button that refreshes your dots while ifrit egi and bahamut kind of do things but mainly just ghost all their attacks unless you use the macro that makes them do their job properly which then makes it idiot proof
new summoner is an improvement over what the class had become. if you want a complicated caster play black mage instead of pretending that dealing with pet bullshit makes you hardcore

this is exactly the kind of midwit that old summoner appealed too. instead of playing black mage like a real man you just pretended hitting your 'make ifrit egi actually do its job" macro every minute was deep gameplay
What macros are you even fricking talking about? I orange parsed on SB and ShB SMN and never used any fricking macros.
>i-i-i-it wasn't even really complex it was just hard to master with lots of little micromanagement!
I like new SMN because I prefer being an actual summoner, but old SMN was far more complex and it was more satisfying to get right. I also got oranges a lot more easily because nobody was playing it so that was nice.

I said I prefer new SMN because I care more about the job fantasy than playstyle or numbers, dumbfrick.
It's annoying since the current base for new summoner is great but the mechanics seem so undercooked that it takes until level 86 for it to feel like a level 70 job.
At least old summoner was engaging at pretty much every level.

I'd still say Asmongold and Rich Campbell are the worst offenders, Rich banned anyone who mentioned ff14 in his chat, this is after the game made him $600k and Asmongold is a fricking homosexual who got filtered by Stormblood.
After all the positive press they got, even getting interviews with Yoshi P, and praise by the dev team something Bliz never gave them, rather Blizzard called Asmon an butthole and fired Rich, they both crawled back to WoW and shat all over ff14.

I don't think it's him being filtered by the game. The dude chases 'content' and only went back to FF14 when there was a huge lull in stuff for him to farm for views. He obviously didn't get the viewership he was expected and hit eject (by apparently gaslighting his ff14 viewers???) It's the same reason he gave up on POTD; If it's not getting viewers then it's not worth his time.

I don't buy that excuse for a moment considering his current WoW videos get dog shit viewers compared to when he was streaming ff14.
The guy doesn't need money anyway so what is he even doing anymore, is it all for the money or do principles go out the window for the greenbacks? By that I mean he shits on WoW every other video but continues to play their game, supporting them, giving them free marketing.

Streaming for 6 hours to "react" content then jump into the game for an hour, blame the bad reaction of people waiting for over 6 hours to wanting to see the game played and then calling off all future ff14 streams.

we were talking about savage/ultimate, the role where any job is hard. yeah in roulettes you can just tank everything and not give a frick

I still remember after Asmon "returned" to Stormblood, spent the first 6 hours reacting, then only 2 hours ingame, got lower than average viewers, barely anyone to greet him ingame, then gaslit his FF viewers and shat on them, then the very next day lost over 50% of his subs.
Genuienly hilarious.

the /xivg/ crystalcord made an effort to dm mass reports at asmon's discord mods when he "returned" to warn him about the "neonazi pedophile" he was carried through raids by in old streams because it was a /vg/ lala with giga racist discord posts. make him see what game he really plays 🙂
Nope, DRG and AST work got postponed until next expansion. I don't know if it was because of th negative reception of SAM. I think they're going through a PLD one in EW though.
>RDM has gotten better every expansion >Dumbfricks want to ruin it by tacking on a Dot in it's kit
All RDM needs is a Water and Ice spell so they have all the elements under their belt and it's good. Make it the AoE Spell upgrades
rdm needs to not violently hate spell speed while literally every other caster including BLU can do well with a spell speed build, especially since black mage takes the best advantage of speed all kinds of caster gear has speed on it when equivilent pieces for other classes don't that means gearing this class is a pain in the ass
>Use creation magics >White robes vs Ancients black robes >Wear masks like the ancients, excpet they cover their entire faces vs the Ancient's half-masks
They're literally what would've happened to the Ancients once they achieved their perfect utopia just as Hermes said.
I get that much but they seem antagonistic right off the bat, like someone you don't wanna invite in your house for fear that they know where you live now
Every tribe quest has some sort of antagonistic force, usually a character, though they're not usually an actual villainous person, just serving as the antagonist role. The Niburins are just the Omicron antagonists, but not because they're villains but because their moronic nihilism is threatening to frick up the Dynamis of UT and kill everyone.
Came back to my old ninja, and can someone redpill me on the hurajin?
Feels like it literally replaces armor crush in rotation, and first huton through mudras
Huraijin is the "Oh shit, I died and I need Huton immediately" skill. You should still be using mudras/hide to apply your first Huton. Pray that you don't get a tank who gap closes to pull so that you can't recharge your mudras.
lol ffxiv has one month of life left before everyone jumps into wow, square goes bankrupt, and yoshida hangs himself
>everyone jumps into wow
???
Why would they downgrade?
Because they couldn't handle perfection
Except not really.
>Everyone will play WoW
This is a FFXIV website.
>lol ffxiv has one month of life left before maybe 1% of the players jump into wow for the coming two weeks before returning
fixed
Yeah my girlfriend doesn't like that game.
Neither do I.
all ziv players are schizophrenic.
That entire general is entirely purry avatargayging, and unironic Blizzard astroturfing. /mmorpg/ finally killed any valid reason for anyone wanting wow discussion, or any mmo discussion, to post there.
This legit is what happens. Even CP threads aren't this closely monitored.
>You will never use Feo Ul as a flying fleshlight on demand
>She will never forcefully return the "favor" and use you as her personal wienersleeve once she becomes a mini giantess king (which means at least 6 foot long wiener) no matter if you like it or not
How do I cope with this, bros?
The Feo Ul minion will 100% be tied to fricking Encyclopedia Eorzea 3 and I hate it.
I really liked Feo Ul and it’s always been a bit of a shame to me that the WoL seems like he wants nothing to do with her, and that summoning her is always a last resort.
The only people excited for Dragonshit are paid influencers.
I don't even play wow and I can see how bullshit this is
Mommy.
I WILL forcibly impregnate Venat repeatedly, until she is physically incapable of bearing any more children.
>randomly start to befriend some Japanese person I randomly met in Gridania on Jap servers a while ago
>at one point we are talking about mounts (which later leads into us farming some stuff together) and I mention I have enough tokens to buy the haedelyn mount whenever that comes out
>they say like "whoa you must really love her!"
>I say something like "yes I wanna marry and have children with her"
>they just laugh
>later that day I learn that person is a girl
I fricked up didn't I
You have a 0% chance of fricking her so I don't see how her being a woman affects anything.
If they're still speaking to you, they didn't care. You are not gonna get that jap pussy, so be glad you got a friend.
From what I gathered she's a single OL or some such though.
>single OL
You're probably one of the few social outlets she has.
>From what I gathered she's a single OL or some such though.
Oh no. Anon, she's grooming you
Frick that jap pussy, do it for Zenos.
>I can only talk to the opposite gender if I want to frick them
shut up moron, just appreciate the friend you made online
She is super mom she’ll never not be able to bear healthy children
the only interesting thing about wow dragons is the alexstraza porn
I'm level 30 now and damn, is FF14 really the 'best mmo ever'?
I want to like it but god damn it's just a slog and I'm not sure if the writing got better that it'd really be worth my time anymore, what's the end game even like? Is it just grinding dungeons until your eyes bleed like WoW?
It unironically becomes good in post-ARR and then peaks at HW no frick you Ganker, nothing will ever beat HW
But is that because of the story or the gameplay?
The fact that people say this is the best story ever and it's fricking /command emotes and text bubbles boggles my mind
Story. Gameplaywise, most of the classes don't "bloom" until 60, or even 80. It's a really fricking slowrun, but if you won't get hooked at HW, I'd say drop it.
Sure but what are you doing in the game by then? Is it just following a string of story quests until you do a dungeon/
1-50 is basically a tutorial that concludes itself with Crystal Tower raids. Go through msq at your own pace and you better fricking level up dragoon
Yes. If you don't like having story as the centerpiece of the game, you're going to have a miserable time with FF14.
it's a visual novel.
Does it ever become a game
some people think the raids are good.
most people just read the story and erp.
Late game raids and trials.
Sure but some Japanese/anime tropes annoy the piss out of me, is it still even worth it?
Such as?
Come on, even Shtola agreed to heal in post-EW, it's not their fault no one knows how to tank. Who'd even do that aside from Thancred, Alisaie?
Alisaie should bring back the proud Summoner/Arcanist tradition if having Titan/Yellow Carbuncle tank, while the actual tank dpses
Seconding this patrician HW enjoyer
I'm glad to be among friends here.
>still no free "inn" room in Fortemps manor
One fricking job SE.
Reminder that Haurchefant only ever existed because Edmont was cheating on his wife with some blue-haired prostitute.
Reminder that Haurchefant was murdered by Hydaelyn's inaction so you could become a real Hope Incarnate a-la WoLs of the First through pain and suffering.
the timeloop is so stupid
inaction is not the same as active murder anon unless you want to tell me god is responsible for killing george floyd
WoL's protection of others is quite literally real, as you can see in Ultima's fight for example.
Did you forget that your crystals and powers were cuckblocked by dragon at that time?
>Story
ShB>HW>EW>SB>ARR
>Content
SB>EW(so far)>HW>ShB>ARR
this is objective
>SB>EW(so far)>HW>ShB>ARR
ARR literally shit tons of content constantly, what the frick are you talking about, while hw lacked in it
Crystal tower was and is shit
A lot of the dungeons were kind of shit
Coils had some good parts, but the trash-only turns were fricking boring
I mean, it was technically the base game, so they were still trying to figure things out
Feels like you did all content you listed during sb age or even later
I'll admit I started playing in early HW, but I don't see how it would've been much better during ARR itself
20% nerf across all arr dungeons happened with HW release, for starters. But arr 50lvl hard dungeons were still okay.
SB nerfed things even further into ground.
Crystal tower is little different story, but still it was on same same level as any other 24ppl raid
Really wish they would go back and buff the Crystal Tower raids. Let people learn the absolute nightmare of the adds during Glasya Labolas.

HE SHALL LALAFELL
Cope harder Tall
I laughed way too hard at this, I wasn't expecting it to go flying
you can NEVER have enough lala...
Why are they so lewd.
What do you mean, Lala?
Male lala is peak male performance btw
Who the frick is this moronic avatargayging lala who keeps showing up to spam his hideous OC in every XIV thread on Ganker lately? Is this some /xivg/ reject like the pinklala who 24/7 spams /wowg/ and /mmorpg/ because I've never seen this homosexual anywhere but these threads on Ganker.
We've been getting the /vg/ rejects from time to time since Stormblood, basically. Report and ignore.
Some queer desperate for attention.
What did she mean by this?
She, alongside all scions, are deeply emotionally bonded to you and she wishes you safety and warmth while being polite.
No, it is nothing sexual. But she would hug the shit out of you if you asked to in this private moment.
but i want to frick yshtola
I DON'T WANT TO SAVE THE 13TH FRICK OFFFFFFFF YOSHIIIII
I swear this is Ala Mhigo all over again
Deal with it, homosexual, your friends want to
They can "want" as mush as they like, but in the end those frickers prefer to deal with trashmobs while I suffer from Barbaricca's crushing thighs alone with my imaginary (real) friends.
It wouldn't be so bad if THEY USED THE NPC'S ON THE FIRST THAT ARE ALSO TRYING TO SAVE THE 13TH.
They're losers, anon, and you know it
So much this. You can even talk to them about this and they're like "alright woowee good luck". What a bunch of fricking crap.
HE SHALL WALK
except that one dragon guy in a wheelchair
ffxiv had a cripple first except he an established character was injured in combat and not a random cripple dragon clearly added to pander to twitter
thing is we have limits to healing magic established in ffxiv lore. the 'Raise' spell doesn't bring back the dead, it just wakes up people who are close to death. it can mend bones and muscle but it won't get your lost blood back. it only mends things time would naturally fix.
warcraft healing magic operates on miracles and has fixed things much worse than bad legs. it shouldn't be a problem to fix that dragon
>pander to twitter
anon it's almost certainly one of the devs' fetish character
>Win streak ends with lemming team running in to the meat grinder one by one as they respawn
>No amount of sick ninja LB chains can possibly swing momentum enough for them to actually get past mid
Probably should've done this earlier in the season.
I'll be honest I don't like "new team good, old team gtfo" approach they planned for post-EW. There's a big chance of FF14 becoming SOVLESS.
So far it's going great.
t. zerosimp
I want mommy Venat to walk all over me
Azem > Venat
Choose your path, tall man
Cute lala paladin wife to bounce on my au ra's futa wiener!
>tfw no rpr avatar gf
Why even slice
Friendly reminder that Zenos WILL come back and you WILL enjoy it
Kind of hard to do with his body being left to rot on the edge of all known creation. However if they DID bring him back, they'd probably do an Ardbert situation with him following you as a ghost that no one else can see.
He's going to come back as a dynamis simulacrum at the end of the beast tribe and be forced to learn to chill out because he can't leave ultima thule
Ah yes, forgot to mention dynamis in
That too.
>Zero face when
When ascians die, and he is, by all standards, an artificial, and possibly even real, ascian in terms of mastering echo, they're free to go anywhere, without any need of a nearby body to stay alive.
They just use their dark crystals as phylacteries while they port into the Rift if they're without a living body.
>there's probably a second mothercrystal but darkness-oriented
>it's in 13th
>free real estate
And there he is, gorging on what remains of the dark mothercrystal.
>all the parallels between Hydaelyn and Zenos finally come to fruition when he becomes the new Hydaelyn overseeing the Thirteenth
Kino
>Zenos calling WoL his mirror at the end of EW was actually a foreshadowing
And he died in Ultima Thule, too bad for him, at least our newest villain buddy Golbez can probably make use of it
Golbez will do a turn and become a hero like his namesake from earlier games.
Why does Golbez have Varis' animations and a very similar voice?
>the island sanctuary discord nuked itself cause of the admin going on a power trip
Golbez has a differen't VA than Varis
Explain this then
?t=112
?t=52
I thought he voiced someone in FFXII, the voice is extremely familiar.
There's literally a cutscene of him holding Azdaja in a magical forcefield.
This is why discord being the de facto place to post FFXIV guides is absolute cancer.
Because he's the tallest, widest Garlean they had available
>When ascians die, and he is, by all standards, an artificial, and possibly even real, ascian in terms of mastering echo, they're free to go anywhere, without any need of a nearby body to stay alive
That's only for those carrying dark crystals with them
I WANT PICTURES! PICTURES OF LALAFELLS!
I kind of miss these sudden goofy ass powerpoint shows with the audience just randomly coming on stage when talked to, it was charming
In retrospect I miss ARR times, simpler times. I didn't appreciate its sovl back then.
While I don't miss little shit ARR Alphinaud, everything did feel a lot livelier and innocent before that whole banquet deal happened
Especially WoL
ARR and Heaven are still my overall favorites.
Instead
>Teleports in
>Tells us that if we understood his point of view we would agree with him
>Refuses to elaborate
>Leaves
I legitimately never understood the hate for Alphinaud, I liked him from when we first met him in ARR to our road trip with him and Cid. He’s legitimately just going miles out of his way trying to make the world a better place, he’s putting himself on the line to make things better in a way basically nobody except Minfilia and you are.
a small addendum. We don't know what Nabriales' job was in the convocation. he's the only one
>Altima never got used and just randomly died to Gaius somehow
Absolute fricking waste, how did they not think to use Altima for the Ivalice raids?
we don't know if Altima is dead dead or just got forced out of a body. the fate of the remaining 5/6 ascians to me is prime msq material, especially since there's a decent chance a few of them would be like fandango and not want to restore the old world
Pretty sure we were told they were returned to the aetherial sea
They did Elidibus dirty in ShB. They're quite literally two different characters, and no amount of retcons and elaborations can fix this mess.
elidibus was nothing but Dr. Claw for 6 years
How so?
They went from "all-knowing mastermind working for grey instead of dark/light" to "salty amnesiac kid who doesn't even know what his purpose is" in a heartbeat. And it wasn't an upgrade.
He was never an all-knowing mastermind. As early as HW he's scrambling to fix the Flood of Light to the point he has to ask Urianger to help him, and by the end of it he's realized he fricked up in letting you get too powerful so he starts to scramble to solve the problem of you.
They SAVED him in ShB. The problem is that his character in ShB only kinda works with his previous presentation if you squint and pretend.
Same shit with how the new/next raid will likely reconcile the Lahabrea we know with the crackling moron from ARR and HW.
it's been so long after that was posted and i still can't find the source
Getting lectured all the time by Sam Riegel got pretty grating.
Hello Alphinaud.
Nah, Alphinaud if anything is the hardest on himself over his actions back in ARR
these are all someone's son
How’s this then? Only girls play bunnies
Who plays male bunnies?
Homos, anon. Homos
Bunny girls are mostly played by horny guys and girls who really want attention. Bunny boys are played by women and gays.
Anybody I've met who hates on Alphinaud has turned out to be either 2 IQ or a troony
Endwalker rehashing his entire narrative arc was absolutely dogshit though.
>All of post ARR was a massive slog which justified itself by building up to some super conspiracy plot revolving around Nanamo
>Culminates in Nanamo's "death"
>Cue HW cinematic further hyping up this conspiracy by showing Lolorito in Ul'dah looking all menacing
>Actually plya HW
>Actually Nanamo's alive lmao
>Actually there's no conspiracy, I actually just her life
>Let's be cool now, mkay?
>Everyone, even WOL, just agrees
>Entire subplot that bogged down and made post-ARR such a nightmarish slog that filters sprouts to this very day was all for absolutely fricking nothing
Dont ask questions, just praise ff14's writing.
For some reason SE like Ul'dah and I will never understand why.
That was the moment everyone with a brain should have dismissed any XIV fanboy who claimed this games writing is anything above average
Imagine if alll of post-ARR was just focusing on the Dragonsong War buildup. Imagine how much better and shorter it would've been.
>Imagine if alll of post-ARR was just focusing on the Dragonsong War buildup. Imagine how much better and shorter it would've been.
Stop, I don't want to HOPE this hard.
Think of the company of heroes! How could they throw an awesome dinner party without you?
You want to know the worst part? The entire Nanamo subplot was written to mirror Game of Thrones Red Wedding. No I'm not making that shit up. The entire reason we got this bogged down post-arr shit plot was because someone on the writing team watched Game of Thrones and wanted to rip it off. Then they didnt't even have the balls to commit to it, rendering the entire thing meaningless.
So who the frick will be Cecil 2.0? Us?
Unukalhai will be revealed to be Golbez' long lost brother and the would've been Cecil in a flashback, he can't actually personally get involved in the plot however because that would require players to do all the ShB role quests, and all of Eden
Yoshida already confirmed Gaia is coming back, and if you go talk to Unukalhai now he says he's going to go meet Ryne and Gaia. Content skipping gays are about to be on suicide watch.
I will never play a healer.
>not playing summoner and leveling up scholar passively
Do you even role quests
I will never read a book.
They could plant Unukalhai in the MSQ whenever they want honestly. The bonus role quest thing wouldn't even be required.
Role quests were a mistake.
healer shb did. tank ew did. i suppose maybe ew healer?
I'd say only tank shb did since it's a logical continuation of drk questline. But then again, I do consider drk questline being a legitimate and mandatory part of msq.
I wish they'd do another quest on my homie Landebert, and his crusade against the banking lalaisraelite menace
hey. lalafells are not in control of uldah. you will apologize or you'll never work in this town again
t.eledji
>Girdania largely treats its people well
>it doesn’t exploit people, it doesn’t murder and kill in endless schemes and betrayal

Asahi seething so hard at being used that he couldn't properly die got a chuckle out of me.
That and him telling WoL "frick off, this has nothing to do with you, go stand there while I deal with gaymon".
Is that c**t ever going to show up again in future quests?
i think Laurentius probably hurt the most out of all the betrayals
Memory holed. The betrayal lost all merit once the world began drastically changing, thus every bad guy Eorzean before that lost their entire purpose for doing anything as all underhanded profits were off the table.
He doesn't appear but he is mentioned in the MSQ after you are done with 4.0, you cant miss it
i thought that guy was caught and executed
Nah, I had him executed. Didn't you?
>is he going to show up
>when Raubahn asked what you wanted done with him and the lalafrick
>tell him you want them executed
>Raubahn fricking agrees
Laurentius is dead, anon. So very, very dead.
I heard the story in WoW is pretty shit, I think I'll avoid it outside of Orc/Pandaren porn
>It's another "Tank who pulls all of Sastasha without using any cooldowns" episode.
Trial by fire. Only the worthy gets to advance through ARR.
Now now, anon, they're just helping to make Sastasha not the boringest thing in the world to queue into
As long as they don't do it while I'm the healer.
I nominate Halatai as the worst dungeon in the game
>Annoying to navigate
>Ugly
>You don’t have access to any fun abilities, probably spamming 1 or 2 buttons
>All but one of the bosses have invincibility phases meaning they all take way longer than they should
>Stat Squish has made the bosses take much longer than they used to as well
Halatali is at least short because you go straight from the second boss to the last one.
Halatali is at least short and sweet
Totorak is the real abomination
It's a tie between Tam-Tara and Cutter's Cry for me.
Amazing how Aurum Vale became a decently fast dungeon after everything.
It's still ugly and unpleasant.
Aurum Vale is overly memed, and doing the Relic Quests made me truly appreciate just how short and straightforward the whole map is designed
So? Just move out of the mobs range. You don’t need cooldowns or anything up to the desert instances, you run faster than the mobs, just kite them around while the DPS kills them.
>The monetarists didn't kill Niellefresne and that whole thing gets resolved in the ALC questline.
Yes they did, and no, it only put her at peace with his loss. Nothing changed otherwise.
>Yes they did, and no, it only put her at peace with his loss
You literally catch the guy who did it.
Nielle and F'lhaminn were both openly asking around about necromancy and that subject alone could have gotten them targeted by any number of groups, in addition to their plotting against the Syndicate.
there's easier ways to say you didn't do the ALC questline m8, you catch the guy who killed him with the cursed dagger and destroy it to let him finally pass on
And… why did that murderer do it?
Speaking of things shb did good and wrong, am I the only one who fricking despises Unukalhai+Taynor side quests? It looked good on paper, but execution is stupid as hell. I felt like I'm playing a badly written fanwork the entire time.
>Pull the mobs into the boss room
Had a tank like this in dzemael, that was a fun run.
That's actually the best way to deal with the first pull in Aurum Vale. Just swing them behind the wall past the barrier.
i dunno if i wanna be a brown thighlander or turn back into a lala bros
Lalas are a dime-a-dozen, enjoyed by both reddit and pedos. Stick with delicious brown thighlander.
Seconding to stick with thighlander. She's hot as frick bro. I also debated becoming a lala but at the end of the day I decided against it.
That's a sexy WoL but we both know Mhiggers don't deserve fine threads like that. Stick to hemp and furs

Based Tsuyu enjoyer
Just like I "enjoyed" Yotsuyu
She’s just a product of Hien utterly failing his nation and running away to some backward country. I don’t feel sorry for her, she’s a pity and hateful human being just like Zenos said but let’s not pretend it’s all her fault for being a prostitute and using her good looks to rise to the top.
>She’s just a product of Hien utterly failing his nation and running away to some backward country.
Cool story Asahi. And it's totally not because she's a used goods of her own father who sold her in prostitutehouse and not because her siscon-brother was much more loved and cherished by her family.
>Asahi
>not utterly shitting on Yotsuyu as a filthy useless prostitute, who still somehow garneded Zenos' attention more than he ever would
You've been reading too much Eorzea Academy, son
Eorzea Academy is canon. CANON!
It was Hien's dad's failure as a ruler you mean
Yotsuyu's older than Hien by several years and would've been already undergoing the parental abuse and selli g off to prostitution, while he was still a little kid

At least we still have Discount Yotsuyu
Yugiri really is just a scuffed Yotsuyu huh? I mean appearance wise
Excellent taste
Step on me please.
Why do people invite you to raids and when it comes time to doing the raid they pretend like you don't exist, asking for a friend of course haha
Would you a hag cat?
She will always be a second choice, at best
I will never forgive the Garleans
Hasn't the pre-patch for Dragonflight been a buggy disaster? I don't know why'd you subject yourself to that rushed goyslop.
Uh, how is Bobby going to buy his Island Sanctuary without his bonus this year?
I like Ishikawa well enough but always found the DRK questline massively overrated
>but always found the DRK questline massively overrated
How so?
I found Fray's rants in the HW questline about how much we hated going on sidequests, incredibly forced and pandering to players who like to play their WoL's as spiteful, and unwilling heroes
Have you done all moogles yellow quests? Have you done all ARR yellow quests?
>Have you done all moogles yellow quests
Yes
>Have you done all ARR yellow quests?
In the process of it
If you're not having murderous tendencies after moogles' yellows there's something very wrong with you.
Moogles are based
Unlocking their beast tribes made me want to kill myself.
Their quests are somehow even worse.
There is nothing wrong with being architectural buddies with the only good Dzemael
I meant the sheer amount of backtracking their dailies make you do.
t. Sidurgu
I also liked Vanu-Vanu's beast tribes
The Moogle quests are fine, especially nowadays, the Nier quests were worse than them.
I did like how the HW DRK questline was literally just Moogles singing at you to not be an edgelord though. Shame about, y’know, the SB and ShB ones.
Nier quests are trash but for different reasons. Moogles quests are a fricking FLOOD of "find my kupo nuts", "my friend is missing", "please fly to the other edge of the map for literally fricking nothing". Their tribe questline is alright tho.
HOW CAN SHE SLAP, KUPO?!
Stay salty
Azem doesn't have a single effect on your personal headcanon.
Not really. Azem is just another convocation member. A unique one in a sense, but nothing super special.
You’ve got a fair point for DRK, but you’re stretching it like crazy with Azem
>we're now the super speshul reincarnation of a super badass ascian
Sometimes I'm really grateful that Gankerirgins aren't vidya writers.
> zenos kills fujocat and yshtola when hes in your body
Based
>also emet selch gets genderbent into a milf
Please I like sassy grandpa emet please no
zenos never coming back
Literally the worst thing about story, even somehow worse than Alisaie who was annoying piece of shit since sb
Shit taste. Zenos is the only thing that actually entertains you throughout post-HW aside from Emet's speeches, and maybe some dragoon jumps episodes.
Emet-Selch uses his Gestahl look during ShB to scare away fujos which in turn saves us from the writers inventing Elpis time travel for the sake of fanservice.
Frick you, Elpis was great.
It would be interesting to see how many women actually liked his character instead of just wanting to get choked by him.
His genuine affection for his people and Azemfu is what made him a husband material instead of "I'd frick" material. Simple as.
I always thought it was weird that he just randomly dies before you ever get to meet him.
I wish fujocat died in 5.3 instead of having his character butchered.
Graha stops existing on that shard and technically the Graha we know now is a bit of a mix between Grahas.
I mostly wonder when the frick did he learn to sword&shield.
Baka anon, it was all about HOPE.
It would've been an improvement if the Exarch actually died there and G'raha of our time at most got his memories.
THAT would've been kino.
catbox the uncensored version please
Don't have it sorry, found it in /mmorpg/.
Go ask there, or in /trash/
>makes crystal tower mandatory for no real reason
>People who started playing the game during ShB or did ARR years ago and only came back after they heard about ShB are somehow in love with some random NPC that wasn't even voiced.
Dumbest shit, I told him to go frick himself every chance I got in ShB for fricking with me during the Elidibus fight.
the ONLY reason crystal tower should have been mandatory was for the meteion tease at the end, and even then its actually fricking nothing if you cant hear and instantly translate morse code
Except Meteion hadn't even been concieved let alone written back then.
Maybe she was conceived by Stormblood
He really, really wanted to go on an adventure with you, please understand.
>He really, really wanted to go on an adventure with you, please understand.
Except he never said that in ARR. That entire motive was forced out of nowhere in ShB. Actual G'raha just wanted a better future using allagan tech but for good.
>implying ShB Graha isn't an improvement over ARR Graha
He wants an adventure now because Exarch hijacked his body. What life might he have led if he wasn't shouldered with that burden? Not important because Exarch wanted to live out a selfish fantasy.
You're projecting. Everyone who knew Graha before he got tower'd say he's been like this all his life.
He thought you were a cool person but he didn't develop a religious obsession with you until he got woken up to be the Exarch. Exarch forced a hundred years of memories and personality development on him.
It's not a religious obsession, but an anime trope of kouhai-senpai relationships for frick's sake.
>It's not a religious obsession
He literally never shuts the frick up about what a great person you are. And not you as a person, but you as a concept. He is OBSESSED with the Warrior of Light he read about who did all these grand things. He doesn't see you as a person, only an ideal to worship and follow around. Three fricking times as he assumes he's about to die, his DYING WISH is to go on an adventure with his lord and god, the Warrior of Light. It's literally his only reason for living. It's demented.
this.
even fricking Alisaie, while being a demented fangirl, actually likes you as a person
Parallel dimensions
Minfilia gets to come back to the Source, besides just being brought to the aetherial sea, and is able to reunite with her mom and Tataru again, if they won't let her come back to life.
See:
>Also: Ranjit and Thancred would have both died during their encounter.
>The story would have made it explicit that the WoL just popped Lyse’s cherry during “that scene” in SB
>Either keep G’raha as the Crystal Exarch and have him die there, or make him into a girl if he needs to be such a fawning simp.
>Remove the silly edgy “Their souls were destroyed” stuff in EW
>Put Venat back in the sea of souls along with Emet and Hythlodeus
>Tighten up a lot of the wonky crafting storylines, like BSM 60-70 or CUL 50-60 etc
>Rethink all the GLD and PLD questlines (you should fight on the bloodsands at least once as a Gladiator)
>Move PLD back to Ishgard Knights most Heavenly as it was probably intended, as a religious Knight not just the Sultana’s bodyguard
>Yugiri rejoins the Scions after Doma is safe and Garlemald collapses
>NIN questline doesn’t become a slapstick comedy after lv60. SB NIN actually ties into the SB story and the revenge against the traitors
>Remove Bozja
>Remove Hroth
>Remove Kan-E’s clothes
>Put Lilja in the story regardless, maybe Omega
I’ll probably think of more after posting this
>NIN questline doesn’t become a slapstick comedy after lv60.
>First few times you fight Ran'jit he's literally invincible, can catch a fricking gunblade with his hand and not even be scratched
>Literally have to leave Thancred to his death keep him from chasing us (as the WOL ffs) because he's that powerful
>We just kill him the final time we face him (completely solo)
>Zero explanation for his power beyond "I MASTERED GUKUMATZ", let alone for why we were suddenly able to casually kill him at the end
What do you even call this writing? Can you fuju tards defend this?
He was injured in the Thancred fight and is thus weaker.
Also, we got another lightwarden powerup.
ShB plot was moronic and people are overhyping it for no reason
It's insanely good.
No, it's not. What are you, 12 y.o.?
I think being an effortless contrarian is more juvenile, boss.
>We need a trolley to get to the place we need to meet OG Minfilia.
>We finally get the Trolley up and running
>It turns out its just to get through a cave we could've easily flown over
I had an idea how to adjust the WHM questline but I forgot it. Had to do with centering it around the use of ressurect and dealing with death.
Final Days was a problem from inside the planet like they were originally hinting at, and most of EW is fricking up Terminus beasts like the trailers implied.
okay
i can fix her
Femet-Selch should be taller than Meteor who is 5'8
Who made this? Emet is a fricking elezen spawn garlean
Moenbryda lives for longer than 5 patches so her death has more impact.
The only correct answer. Tho it didn't save Papalymo.
kot
When will we finally lose the Azem crystal?
Never, they have to justify (you) having enough people for trials.
but we did just fine never explaining or acknowledging we fought trial bosses with other people, besides the occasional joke, up until the end of ShB
They explained it, and not only in jokes. You called up your Echo-blessed friends, or canonically soloed in some cases like Garuda and Thordan.
We'll drop it like we did at the end of 5.3 but this time we were in the middle of picking up Vanu shit at the Sea of Clouds.
Never since we casually used it for Barbariccia. It will forever be the duty finder explanation.
I'd them stony cheeks
>6.28 next week
What else was even left before 6.3?

For the love of god please don't remind them.
I WILL have my tour yellow quest WITH OPTIONAL DIALOGUES and HW FANSERVICE
>certain scions are forced to always be left out of the party if WoL is playing a certain class
>this catnoy piece of shit just changes jobs, like he changes trousers to make sure he can always be part of the group
It's a miracle no one has strangled him yet
They should let the other Scions switch to their other jobs too, like they let Y'shtola do in the latest patch.
It's okay G'raha won't be around for 7.0
I'm mad we merged and essentially had ShB G'raha take over our G'raha, rather than letting him be his own person
So where exactly did Gosetsu bury her anyway? What the frick did he do with her corpse?
Buried her somewhere quiet and out of the way, considering most everyone in Doma would probably desecrate it, if they knew where it was
What an absolute fricking waste of fine booty
Y'shtola-WoL kittens when
Yotsuyu makes me sad we will never get proper eastern hyurs, forever stuck with the disgusting midblanders with awful haircuts and fluoride stares from 1.0 they will never fix
When can I be an Eastern Roe like Brosetsu?
>>>/vg/
I want some absolute filler patch where in the first quest, the game does a fake 90k, and when you log back in you're back to the opening cutscene, except instead of a cart to the 3 starting cities, you're on a train to Garlemald. Just absolute what if dream sequence where you can talk to old man Solus, tell Varis he's an idiot for thinking his plan is somehow different from the Ascians, and do a dungeon with Zenos. And of course walk around the city before it was destroyed.
Get back to work on a new toobie game, Taro.
Why do eurozoomies like shit games so much?
obsessed?
Stormblood had the best story and I'm tired of pretending it didn't.
maybe if it had kept to one continent, pacing is all over the place
>AlaMhigo parts
I sleep
>Doma parts
REAL homie SHIT
I'm happy you had fun in Stormblood anon, it has some amazing trials but the story just fell so fricking flat focusing so much on Lyse. Yet it does have some shining gems with Zenos and Alisia getting more attention. Stormblood is necessary yet it came after an amazing Expansion.
>develop Lyse into an actual character
>but she never got a spotlight again
Every single time.
I preferred her ARR voice, Lyse got some moronic VA in Stormblood it felt like nails on a chalk board, (I'm English and her accent really went through me like a fricking chavvy slag).
Lyse is just Oda's personal OC Donut Steel projected onto an existing character (Yda)
In retrospect SB had more consistent story than ShB.
The PLOT was rather flat.
Made for Hien's diplomacy.
>Alamhiggan
>white blond and blue eyes
Not that I mind but it kinda felt off watching her acting like a leader
Most mhiggers are only brown because they lived in thanalan

Why didn't the WOL just get reborn after the 8th umbral calamity and come back to save the world again?
And he just so happened to be an in-depth expert on a type of magic literally nobody else understood.

>daily reminder FFXIV is a troony-riddled game.
>FFXIV
>has zero troony characters
>crossdressing is painted as offensive and disgusting in the one (joke) sidequest line it appears in
>has one single gay couple in the entirety of the game's universe that is treated as a joke, only appears in a single forgettable quest, are then implied to be animal frickers, and never seen again while not even getting actual names in their own quest
Mealwhile...
>WoW
>all town NPCs (every last one of them) are either black or trans after recent updates
>most important character in the lore is a trans scaly
>new expansion is all about players being trans scalies too
>even the new Evoker class's skillset is "trans coded" and focuses on switching between masculine and feminine body types
>all player characters, even non dracthyr, are now forced trans after the gender changes to character creation
Care to explain?
>crossdressing is painted as offensive and disgusting in the one (joke) sidequest line it appears in
One of the main characters is a grown ass man wearing a backless full length dress. Frick off with this 'It's not sjw, I swear!" nonsense.
Robes are gay, but it's a robe, not a dress
He does wear a dress in the ARR quests.
>One of the main characters is a grown ass man wearing a backless full length dress.
Yes like most trannies
>He does wear a dress in the ARR quests.
I was talking about Urianger, just like that anon was. I just posted the Hildi webm because funny
>robes
He's wearing a dress. He even does some gay ass "h-how do I look Warrior of Light, uwu" bullshit when you meet up with him in Il Mheg.
It's a magical robe, troon. Because he's a space wizard.
>robe
Sure it is. I bet your closets are filled with these kinds of "robes" aren't they?
no because I'm not a homo.
still not a dress
>not a homo
>has deluded himself into thinking that a sleeveless, backless dress is a robe
Maybe one day your father will teach you the difference between the two before you end up in some groomer's basement modeling his collection of "robes".
homie, that's clearly a robe. he's still a pansy homosexual, which shouldn't be surprising since he's a healsissy, but that's not a dress
He's Greek.
catboys are for gathering up into harems
Catboys are for kicking from my parties because they are dogshit players
Sucks to be you, I've never met a bad catboy player.
I wouldn't want you in my parties either
Oh well, no big loss.
I haven't played since SB as I've been super busy.
Wanting to jump back in. Did they ruin DRG yet?
Nah, DRG is fine.
no, but we know there's a rework incoming and chances are they'll ruin DRG
Dragoon is still the most based class in the game,
I hope you lads know if you play Dragoon through Heavensward you get exclusive dialogue from Estinien.
And from some of the dragons, especially Hraesvelgr.
>mfw lvl 70 DRG quest
>play ARR DRG questline pre-HW
>HW launches
>5 mintues into hanging out with Estinien again I'm screaming at my monitor "Hey just going to fricking do IT again"
Drg is legit and the extra dialouge is great in HW, but seriously. the ARR questline is just beat for beat what happens in HW and I'm mad WoL can't call Estinien out asap for literally already having fricked up.
At least there was a mutual understanding between the two of you when you first met Aymeric.
They removed the JO tether.
I mean, RPR is also braindead, but when compared to SMN it looks like playing Made of Fire on DDR
new summoner
>hit ruin 3 a lot while summons do things
old summoner
>hit ruin 3 a lot and sometimes hit the button that refreshes your dots while ifrit egi and bahamut kind of do things but mainly just ghost all their attacks unless you use the macro that makes them do their job properly which then makes it idiot proof
new summoner is an improvement over what the class had become. if you want a complicated caster play black mage instead of pretending that dealing with pet bullshit makes you hardcore
>it's not complex if i try and fail to describe the job like a fricking moron
>lala
>new summoner bad because you can use macros to make it braindead
>old summoner good because you had to use macros to make your class work at all
What macros are you even fricking talking about? I orange parsed on SB and ShB SMN and never used any fricking macros.
>i-i-i-it wasn't even really complex it was just hard to master with lots of little micromanagement!
I like new SMN because I prefer being an actual summoner, but old SMN was far more complex and it was more satisfying to get right. I also got oranges a lot more easily because nobody was playing it so that was nice.
>it was good because nobody played my shitty job so I could get funny fflogs number more easily
this is exactly the kind of midwit that old summoner appealed too. instead of playing black mage like a real man you just pretended hitting your 'make ifrit egi actually do its job" macro every minute was deep gameplay
>not even reading my post before seething
I said I prefer new SMN because I care more about the job fantasy than playstyle or numbers, dumbfrick.
It's annoying since the current base for new summoner is great but the mechanics seem so undercooked that it takes until level 86 for it to feel like a level 70 job.
At least old summoner was engaging at pretty much every level.
summoner is kind of interesting because its one of the most fleshed out jobs in early content, because its basically 80% complete and then you get frick all for ages
Amon was better villain than zenos ever hope to be
he already went back to his shitty MMO though
Couldn't handle a game that made him have to try.
Evil scientist is a cool concept, yes.
Daily reminder FFXIV is a shortstack-riddled game.
You wish you were a shortstack you obese midget
yes
Finish the threesome. This is the final time I ask.
unf
Seethe all you like it only makes me stronger.
mad
Seething wowtroony
>Lumpy thighs
That looks like shit.
This
looks good though.
Did they really turn Jade Weapon into a mount?
Lalafell literally have the body of Bobby Hill, and this is what you are lusting over.
My motherwife would never say such cursed words.
I hate Asmongold more than life itself. Why do I feel this way anons?
why?
Because he betrayed Yoshi P and hiro(asiatic moot).
True. What a piece of shit.
Yoshi was probably just using him. Asmon accidentally showed WoWplayers a better place.
Then he went back to being mazed in WoW along with his other friend that homosexual Rich Campbell.
Has there ever been a two grifters more obvious than those two? Fricking oily c**ts.
Preach
>turned the wow WFR into a big advertisement for xiv complete with dancing emet and RIDING HOOOOOOOME playing over the jailer kill.
nah, norf is cool.
he literally came back crawling to wow
We'll see how long that lasts.
Of course he did, there's a new expansion coming.
FF14 is a trap for content creators unless your name is Mr. Crappy or Zepla.
Honestly why do people have this weird brand loyalty when it comes to mmo's? Why is it treated like you are cheating on your spouse if you play another mmo for a bit? WoW might have done a nosedive into a pool of shit, but I couldn't give less of a shit if someone wants to play it.
he said he was done with wow in a video
then came back to suck quite literally suck the farts out of Ion's butthole
If you watch the video, he was specific about what he was done with. Class guides, etc. He said he'd be willing to come back if things changed, etc.
and suck ion's butthole straight away?
go to fricking cali just to interview him?
What the frick are you talking about? You worry too much about 'loyalty'.
https://twitter.com/PreachGaming/status/1584629650680328194
I know, I've seen it. What's the great issue?
that the guy is a grifter
care to elaborate?
He said he was done making daily WoW videos and in depth guides etc. In the very same "quitting WoW" video he straight up said he was still raiding with his friends off stream like he always does and said he'd give the game more of a chance in the future if he felt the development respected the players time
He's gonna be coping with dragonflight when he realises nothing has changed and it's still grind on top of grind for a 0.1% increase in player power
Then he'll go back to FF8 or whatever else he wants.
Yeah I know, preach has always been more of a variety streamer and played other games when there was a lull in WoW content and didn't spend 8 hours running around Dalaran like most other big WoW streamers do since people literally only watch them for WoW
Multiple WoW streamers all said they were done with Blizzard and WoW more so Blizzard because of the practices of their company, the shit they've done, the state of the game, e.t.c. and used FF14 as a bridge for them to continue making content, and were warmly embraced by FF14 fans and the ff14 dev team alike.
All for them to return back to WoW and pretend nothing ever happened, while shitting on FF14 players in the process, you know the people who kept them in a job for a year while they were shitting on Blizzard and WoW.
It leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
So Asmon and Rich?
Who else badmouthed them?
Annie? Who cares, she was always dumb.
Nah, this is just WoWbrain talking.
haven't you seen that fricking twitter video?
I did. And he put out an FF video too.
They are grifters of the worst kind.
>Rich banned anyone who mentioned ff14 in his chat, this is after the game made him $600k
Do Xiv gays really give this much money tostreamers?
it's the same kind of people that watch reaction "content"
He got it mainly from twitch partnership (advertisements) but he got the massive bump in pay from his popularity spiking while he was playing FF14. In other words ff14 made him as a big streamer and he bans anyone now who mentions the game in his chat. Further than that he bans anyone who mentions it in any OTK chat if he's moderating and he has done in Asmongold's chat.
>Get's 5k viewership average
>Barely gets any subs now however
>Used to flaunt his subcount during FFXIV days where he had 25k, now he hides it after consistently having -3k subs for months since quitting OG
>Tried to grift OG again with 6.1, got -1k viewers, basically nobody gave him subs, so he quit without even finishing
>Hyped doing the new savages and ultimate, arranged to be carried by Llamatodd
>Ended up ghosting Todd in the middle of his stream. Todd even had his stream titled "Savages with Rich". Removed Rich from the title, never mentions Rich ever again
>Even to this day Rich barely gets any subs, yet mysteriously has a very high viewcount even without being hosted.
Something aint adding up here.
He's a grifter, he got exposed so fricking hard during EW msq when he stretched out 1 quest into 4 hours and his reactions being
"oh yeah guys I've already seen this, yeah I knew this already"
Well what's the point in watching?
Not to mention the fake tears. The writing was on the wall when he was doing the subathon and was having thots on his channel all the time and just talking about irl drama shite no one cared about, with side glances to his chat to see if they were interested in who he was fricking or not.
I dunno man, the guy just feels off and just latched onto FF14 as a money maker, with no real interest into playing the game.
Poor Todd.
>asmongold hyping himself up for years as 'the god gamer big dick mmo player'
>says he's going to clear all the ultimates and get necromancer title before EW drops
>doesnt even get to SB before throwing in the towel
>filtered by POTD even while playing the easiest class to solo it with
he unironically cannot clear solo content and the team content he has to clear can only be cleared by getting carried. as he's been doing for the past 10 years
>thought he was gonna big dick and solo POTD
My fricking sides. Does he have any idea how much practice goes into that shit?
FF14 exposed him so hard, he thought he could coast being a Tank and got so fricking filtered while doing trials thinking his chat would carry him through.
8man content, you can't sit back and coast like you can with WoW 10-30man raids.
ironic since tank is the easiest role in FFXIV
the only constant is unironically asmongold. he's spent the entirety of his time getting carried by viewers which isnt something FFXIV lets you do
That's how he got filtered by Stormblood, although a pretty easy expansion it was the fact he couldn't get carried that filtered him. He was already at breaking point by HW's extremes and savages, Stormblood just straight up filtered him.
Knew it would, whoever thinks he's some kind of mmo "god" like player needs to go back and see how he got reemed out of basic b***h ff14 content.
No one has thought asmon is an MMO god since he quit raiding and cried on stream in nighthold and then got carried through everything after that. Then the dark souls incident proved he was shit at basically all games
>carried through dark souls my mcconell
crazy shit
I don't think it's him being filtered by the game. The dude chases 'content' and only went back to FF14 when there was a huge lull in stuff for him to farm for views. He obviously didn't get the viewership he was expected and hit eject (by apparently gaslighting his ff14 viewers???) It's the same reason he gave up on POTD; If it's not getting viewers then it's not worth his time.
He constantly tries to play himself off as some saviour whenever he's on zachrawr. Bragging about how Twitch is losing ad revenue when he's not on his main. And then also talks about how he makes more of youtube and sponsorship at other times. Such a martyr.
Thinking about it, I should be glad a spineless shit like him isn't playing ff14 anymore.
He lost viewers because he was reacting for 6 hours. If he ACTUALLY streamed, there would be plenty of people.
lmao cope
Asmon's main "content" is reacting at this point
Reactions can be cut up into dozens of YouTube videos. Live viewers are mere shitstains on his shoe, they exist only to be scraped off for Twitch Prime subs.
Was that the "return to ff14" stream?
Streaming for 6 hours to "react" content then jump into the game for an hour, blame the bad reaction of people waiting for over 6 hours to wanting to see the game played and then calling off all future ff14 streams.
He knew what he was doing, by that I mean pissing off any ff14 fan to the point they'd stop asking him to play the game again.
healer is the easiest on a good team by far, and the hardest on a bad team
>do most of the mechanics everyone else does + you have to manage mitigation + do your rotation
healer is the easiest role unless you're doing content right as it comes out or something with a set ilvl where people actually take damage in surprising amounts instead of "raidwide happened, I hit an ogcd and it went away". most healer exclusive mechanics are just "stand here while everyone stacks on you" or using esuna
You can facetank half of the mechanics and survive on 1-2 vuln stacks if you can time your mitigation spells half decently
Your healer will be crying though
>vuln stacks
we were talking about savage/ultimate, the role where any job is hard. yeah in roulettes you can just tank everything and not give a frick
All they need to do for drg is to add frontal elusive jump for out-of-combat uses.
DRGs should've gotten Ala Morn
I haven't played since the first raid in this expac, I know they were planning on messing with drg. Did they do that already?
Nope, DRG and AST work got postponed until next expansion. I don't know if it was because of th negative reception of SAM. I think they're going through a PLD one in EW though.
>nooooo they ruined/are going to ruin my main job
that must suck. lol
It's impossible to ruin RDM
>RDM has gotten better every expansion
>Dumbfricks want to ruin it by tacking on a Dot in it's kit
All RDM needs is a Water and Ice spell so they have all the elements under their belt and it's good. Make it the AoE Spell upgrades
rdm needs to not violently hate spell speed while literally every other caster including BLU can do well with a spell speed build, especially since black mage takes the best advantage of speed all kinds of caster gear has speed on it when equivilent pieces for other classes don't that means gearing this class is a pain in the ass
can you guess which of these meals is for an american?
No sun-dried squid no buy
spaghet
>spaghetti without meatballs
American moment
i havent played in a while, why did emet get norted assuming thats him?
That's what he looked like in the unsundered world.
Blast from the past
Are the nibirun supposed to be like demons? The vibe they give off is bad
They're an allegory for the ancients.
>Use creation magics
>White robes vs Ancients black robes
>Wear masks like the ancients, excpet they cover their entire faces vs the Ancient's half-masks
So you're supposed to feel that way I guess.
holy shit you guys, it's him!
It's the Warrior of Light!
Came back to my old ninja, and can someone redpill me on the hurajin?
Feels like it literally replaces armor crush in rotation, and first huton through mudras
huraijin is a cope move they added so that if you die or the boss fricks off for so long that huton runs out you dont have to waste mudras on it.
its more damage to refresh it with armor crush still and doing huton -> hide to reset your mudras before a fight is better then opening with this move
Huraijin is the "Oh shit, I died and I need Huton immediately" skill. You should still be using mudras/hide to apply your first Huton. Pray that you don't get a tank who gap closes to pull so that you can't recharge your mudras.
It's exclusively used to quickly gain or extend the buff after downtime without using mudras.
I miss HW so much you can't imagine bros
if they want healers to heal so badly why did they remove dots from them, when that means they're less encouraged to glare spam instead of gcd healing
can you get Seifer's gunblade in this game?
No, they're probably holding it for some veteran reward addition or some shit later down the line.
There's one called Hyperion but it doesn't look the same.
Now that the dust has settled, can we admit EW's apocalypse subplot was a meaningless bullshit?
>subplot
Disappointing for sure, but nihilism isn't TOO bad. I was hoping for Lavos a bit.
asmongler killed his mom over FFXIV and he's not even man enough to finish the game
