He used up any remaining aether he had, he dug deep and drew out extra aether he didn't know he had for one last attack. Got a question for the lore friends cause I spaced the frick out during Matsuno's exposition airship times so I want to clear something out.
So Auracite is a type of stone that came to the world, specifically Ivalice (but also Elpis which we just learned), from outer space and it came with High Seraph Ultima which is not a primal but an extraterrestrial being (I assume the name of the spell came afterwards).
This auracite makes your dreams and obsessions stronger while giving you power and overtime it can change you into a Lucavi which is a... dunno, a powerful being powered by your dreams, probably Dynamis powered.
This is similiar, but different, from 13th auracite (Memoria) which is just crystallized aether (memories and soul) of a being such as a primal (eidolon in the 13th). You can keep the funky crystal with you and it powers you up but, eventually, it will corrupt you because primals were summoned with bad intentions most of the time. Only some people could turn shit into memoria and these people are called Memoriates (Zero, Durante, Golbez and I guess Unukhalai and Cylva).
Is this right?

Pretty much. It's not really clear where the forms of the Lucavi are coming from but they're described as a middle ground between a primal and a voidsent. The stone rips out your soul, transmutes it into a Lucavi, and puts it back into your body. It's extremely similar to primal summoning and Allag even started using their own auracite based on Ultima's to create portable primal summoning devices called trigger weapons, Save the Queen and Excalibur being among those.

Yeah, the seal on the crystals isn't complete so the aether leaks out and mutates the wielder. So the original voidsent were not mutated like sin eaters, but were again essentially the same thing as Lucavi. Notably, the one we have confirmed is Cuchulainn, which is also the name of an Ivalice Lucavi.
Also tying into all this, Lahabrea is the one who invented the method of primal summoning Shiva and Thordan used, which is to invite the summoned primal to take root in the soul. Very similar to the Lucavi method. And he did this while under the influence of Sabik.
I can't wrap my head around the Lucavi.
If you just hold the stone it corrupts your toughts, if you use it it rips your soul out and transmutes it into a Lucavi, this is different form a voidsent because a voidsent is just a reverse sin eater whose body has been astrally charged to shit.
It's not clear what happens to your body but we can assume it gets warped by the transformation.
Unlike primal summoning while using your body as a vessel, Lucavi transformation is not something you turn off, you're just a Lucavi from then on.
But how exactly does Save the Queen work again? Misija had the genes to trigger it and when she did she could summon Queen Gunn to temper people like a primal. Is she a Lucavi or a primal?

The first Queen she summoned as her stand was apparently a Lucavi even though it wasn't summoned the same way as other Lucavi. Then in Delubrum Reginae she summoned the Queen as a primal. I'm pretty sure even Matsuno was confused about what was going on there because it doesn't quite add up. The Allagan trigger weapons use the auracite to facilitate on-the-go primal summonings, not Lucavi.
So I'm not the only one confused by it then, good to know.

They spend multiple patches setting up the conflict in Ishgard and getting you attached to the people there. The Ala Mhiggan's plight has been raised since before ARR and most people still just hate them for being a bunch of sand c**ts. Domans have been around and endearing themselves to you since midway through ARR. People of the first get multiple questlines setting up the stakes and drama specifically to them.
