People who seek out challenging content in an MMO by and large are narccissists who are drawn to the prestige of it, not the actual challenge. The very thing that makes them seek out high end raiding is what drives them to cheat. Hardcore raiding has never been about challenge for challenge's sake, it's been about bragging rights and having a cool glam you can flex on lesser players with who simply lack the free time you have to spend so much time on a raid. As such, cheating is naturally not an issue for them. When the goal is not overcoming immense challenges for the sake of it, but for the rewards and bragging rights, why would you have any issue cheating to get it?
Seeking out hard content is narcissitic by default. It's something that attracts ego-andies by it's nature. The amount of people who actually play hard content because they just like the challenge is extremely miniscule. Very few people like to be challenged in life in any way shape or form and naturally go the path of least resistence. Since the goal for the vast majority doing hardcore content is the rewards and bragging rights (i.e. ego-based motivations), naturally they cheat because cheating is the path of least resistence.
This is why "hardcore content" in an MMO is an oxymoron and will never not be a total waste of developer resources trying to cater to these people because they don't actually want hard content in the first place, they just want the illusion of it and something to flex on other players over even if they didn't actually earn it fair and square.

If you want hard stuff then single player games are 10000x better than whatever an mmorpg can offer you. In any mmorpg the difficulty just comes to the group deciding to not be apes and do the shit correctly one single time because any tiny mistake just cost 8-10 minutes of your life.. That's just artificial difficulty at that point wich is not fun.

You can do noobshit 20 times in a row in a Souls game and the only person your inconvienencing is yourself. FFXIV is a MMORPG and each raid will have people at different skill levels, and there is always one at the lowest end who is making everyone else wait for their low IQ ass to figure it out.

I think most people expect at least an outfit change for pic related (since G'raha and the twins still have relatively new outfits). Any job changes will be to specific characters though, not to everyone at once. Krile seems like a fairly sure bet.

"Work to solve mechanics" in a video game is like using the terrain to your advantage, like blocking Absolute Virtue with a cliff face so you can actually defeat it within a reasonable time frame.
Nothing in FFXIV feels like real combat, it's all a play, a performance that the devs want you to act out because it MUST play out that way. There's no tension, nothing to achieve, no variation in combat, it's just the same dance over and over again.

Stormblood might have introduced a lot of bullshit - not 100% i don't remember all the details myself - but the fights definitely didn't feel designed around it YET.
I could get into extreme trials and savage and clear them without too much timewasting trial & error bullshit. The only bullshit i remember there was O12S Hello World bullshit. Now even the lower tier savage raids are more annoying than this.
The bullshit was more prevalent in ARR and Heavensward because the dev team still didn't know how or why to design fights, they were just copying WoW wholesale with no remorse. Random AoEs to check if the healers are awake, random untelegraphed tankbusters because that's how you make tanking a challenge (?).
The modern fights have far less bullshit, everything is clearly telegraphed and choreographed and the fights are simple to learn if you have a braincell. If you screw up it's usually extremely obvious why.

The towers part is pretty easy. The only hard parts are all 8 being alive and not mixing up your marker with one of the others cause everyone will rush to the middle like a bunch of preschoolers playing football.
Even if someone dies before the towers, if the healer rezzes quickly enough and the dead player actually accepts quickly enough, it's still doable. But even that fails sometimes cause some DPS does frick all instead of clicking accept.

i play on PS5 and do just fine in the raids, although im not in a static nor can i no life it anymore because i have a job but i used to be able to clear the tier within like a month through PF, usually clearing turns 1-3 within week 1

The place has an Airship Landing, Godbert maintains private airships to get in/out. It's moreso that airship travel isn't public transit yet.

The only savages that are remotely canon are Omega and Eden. Omega is Omega itself coming up with scenarios to further train you and delivering them to your brain with hypnotism. Eden savage fights are memories recorded in memory crystals that Mitron/Eden keeps manifesting for unknown reasons. He apparently remembers the fights in completely different ways, or is headcanoning them for some reason.
Pandaemonium is the one researcher speculating about how the fights might have gone under other circumstances.

Look at the chin to see that the curve is smoother, less stepped, the ears are completely different and the way the light hits the nose is also different because it's smoother and has a higher vertex count, meaning that the shadows on it aren't as shit.
Yeah, everything about the face just looks smoother. It's still the same face, but some of the sharp edges are eliminated. From the nose, to the lips, to the eyes, to the bump of the chin, to the jaw, to the ears.

You're right, the model in this example is different. The lalafell example wasn't, though. I assume this is either because only certain faces are getting a higher-poly upgrade, or this hyur one is just bait to make you think they're actually going to do improvements.

Nothing big right now but as of 6.4 they've added indications of your previous slider option and also color codes for hair colors, eye colors, etc. so people can easily know what it is they had before or something like that.

Might be the custom lighting. The mesh and materials aren't actually too insane. If anything, they could stand to improve on them. (again, 1st month of testing is all we've seen. Who knows how much it'll differ at FanFest)
