the closest anyone comes to becoming a god is Athena, through the heart of Sabik, which is, notably, of interdimensional origin, IE, outside of the Universe itself, and related to the Ultimanians, a possible even bigger threat than anything thus far.

actually everything is Aether, its like the greek idea of it, all matter and energy in the FF Multiverse, is Aether, they may call it something else, but it is all functionally the same, the Afterlife usually functions somewhat similarly as well, as does the metaphysics of how Aether is used.
there are no shortcuts, just like say, Fullmetal Alchemist, something, even energy (or also magic) cannot be created from nothing, nor can you become a God with nothing, everything has a cost to acheive in FF.
every being also has its own limits, with a VERY few exceptions, sure a Human can grow quite strong, but there is a cap, only indivuals like say, FFXIV's Warrior of Light have inexplicable limitless growth, even beyond Ancient base and limits, despite being a fractured being.
why does the WoL have zero limits? its never explained, no one, not even some of the smartest beings in the setting know.

Not the same Ultima at all. XVI Ultima is actually called Ultimalius and it's a collective hivemind of a dead human race. XIV Ultima takes after Ivalice Ultima which is the Lucifer of that setting, a fallen angel who tried to rebel against the gods and was sealed away.
There are no real god in the FF universe. Every god across all FF games is always either a alien, remnants of a super advanced civilization, a tulpa or magic beings that are Gods in name only. That is why you can kill the at the end of the game and the universe doesn't fall apart. That is just not how FF does things.

Yes. Zero's time with us is unironically over and I'm unironically sad to see her go. I only hated her when the writers were stretching her 'what is friends' bullshit out to pad the 6.x patches. Now that she was finally allowed to grow past that, she's gone forever.
The patch story really dragged at points, but I'm actually quite happy with how it wrapped up. Honestly, the one thing you can rely on the writing in XIV for is that it ends in a good and satisfying way. The only bits of content I can think of that had shitty endings were Eden and Bozja, and those are guaranteed because they were rushed for Covid. Which doesn't excuse it but still. Endings tend to be the most important parts of stories, because it's what you're left with, and XIV almost always sticks the landing.
Zero and Golbez were cool, the stuff with Zeromus was nice, the dungeon was really rad, it was nice to see Zero's arc come all the way around when she sees how the First was saved, and the resolution of everything was good. It felt like we genuinely taught Zero that there is reason to believe after seeing the First (which was nice to get to walk through again). And I thought the opposition between her and Golbez was nice, where she was the one that spurned his trust at first but then had to turn around and offer him trust when he needed it. Genuinely a nice dynamic. I wish the preceding patches had done a bit more, but this retroactively made a lot of stuff better.
My biggest gripe is STILL that it's annoying how little involvement Unukalhai, Cylva, and the rest of the Void crew from the First have. You basically just tell Zero "Haha these guys exist" right at the end, and there's a couple of lines from other npcs referencing them. It's by far the most egregious example I can think of with side content having to be swept to the side and ignored when it makes no sense that it would be. It actively detracts from the story, in my opinion.
Nah. Zero is part of MSQ so she's got a MASSIVE chance of returning as side content in a later expansion. Probably an exploratory thing or some raid series. They were willing to make an exploratory mission out of Ivalice, and that was side content.
When we go back to the 13th they'll become relevant

They understand that a lot of players simply REFUSE to play the game, and they don't want to put a bunch of extra baggage on new players that are coming into the game (with the understanding that there's already a lot of story to get through). That said, I absolutely agree that they should be mandatory. A lot of the side content is better than the MSQ and it's fricking moronic that some people refuse to do it or just skip through the cutscenes. The devs should be more willing to force the players to actually play and enjoy the fricking game.
In an expansion or two I can ABSOLUTELY see the Void Quests becoming mandatory for other stuff. Maybe not for MSQ, but for an exploratory mission. If only because it'd be bafflingly easy to do all of the role quests and solo the Warring Triad. Hell, throw Eden in there, too. It'd be really cool to have Cylva, Unukulhai, Zero, Golbez Ryne, Gaia, and all of the Role Quest bros working together to save the Void as part of an exploratory mission. Would be a fantastic cast of characters. Probably better than the Scions.

At the end she becomes a Paladin again after absorbing light from Nabath Arreng with Rhynes help and she and Golbez are going to work together to restore the 13th with Unakulhai, Rhyne and Gaia who shockingly shows up even without eden being made canon -yet at least- to wink at the camera and go "to be continued in its own expansion".

There are two major jobs left from FFXI not in the game that are an easy fit: the physical melee dps Corsair and the magical range dps Puppet Master.
Corsair fits because they use a sword and a flintlock pistol called a hexagonne and since 1.0 theres been a Corsair guild sign next to the Marauders guild in Limsa Lominsa with scrapped plans for it to branch off from Rogue like Arcanist into SMN/SCH. Meteor in the trailer is very clearly in Corsair Artefact Gear and using a one hand sword with a pistol edited out for the initial reveal. Being the only sword use job without some variant in game already and the pirate job when hes dressed like one it seems obvious.
For the caster theres been drip feeds of Puppet Master since 2.0. We know Kriles getting the new caster job and in the latest patch finds an old letter to Galuf from a friend talking about a job in Tu'ral and she comments on how all the tidying up would be easier with a mammet. Puppet Master are a school of black magic that use mammets,cardians and parva as their spellcasting mediums.
At this point unless they are new jobs every other option exists in game already e.g Pictomancer and BLU or Time Mage and AST.

Thats a typical yoshi red herring. The earring is a reference to the Viera and Erenvilles homeland just happens to be Tural. With Viera living much longer than humans its almost certain we are going to meet the person who send the letter decades ago waiting for Galuf to return the earring.
There hasn't really been any references to GRN in XIV and in this case the Clover is specifically a nod to the tactics games where all GRN happened to be Viera. Meanwhile we've had PUP teases for years and literally before she opens the envelope Krile says "this would be so much easier with a mammet of my own".
Bare in mind also we know this is a ranged magical dps not a ranged support dps like BRD and GRN has always been a ranged support not a ranged damage dealer like PUP.

Make Beastmaster the beastiary for the game with a log for bios of each enemy you fight as BST. Skills are gained normally but can only be used in limited job format since stats will be done like BLU's cane. Main point would be to use the monsters you catch in battles like XI's Pankration, with the reward being Centurio Seals.
Or split the idea and have Puppetmaster be about monster battles with automatons while Beastmaster would be like XI's Monstrosity.

That was the 1.0 CNJ questline, yeah. They seemed to be picking it back up in HW with the DRK questline but then it got dropped again. It seemed like they were going to connect elementals and dragons. Like when E-Sumi looks at Rielle he initially thinks she's housing an elemental's soul, and then realizes it's actually a dragon. You'll also notice that dragons around Anyx Trine have names that sound a lot like Padjali names.

The patch story really dragged at points, but I'm actually quite happy with how it wrapped up. Honestly, the one thing you can rely on the writing in XIV for is that it ends in a good and satisfying way. The only bits of content I can think of that had shitty endings were Eden and Bozja, and those are guaranteed because they were rushed for Covid. Which doesn't excuse it but still. Endings tend to be the most important parts of stories, because it's what you're left with, and XIV almost always sticks the landing.
Zero and Golbez were cool, the stuff with Zeromus was nice, the dungeon was really rad, it was nice to see Zero's arc come all the way around when she sees how the First was saved, and the resolution of everything was good. It felt like we genuinely taught Zero that there is reason to believe after seeing the First (which was nice to get to walk through again). And I thought the opposition between her and Golbez was nice, where she was the one that spurned his trust at first but then had to turn around and offer him trust when he needed it. Genuinely a nice dynamic. I wish the preceding patches had done a bit more, but this retroactively made a lot of stuff better.
My biggest gripe is STILL that it's annoying how little involvement Unukalhai, Cylva, and the rest of the Void crew from the First have. You basically just tell Zero "Haha these guys exist" right at the end, and there's a couple of lines from other npcs referencing them. It's by far the most egregious example I can think of with side content having to be swept to the side and ignored when it makes no sense that it would be. It actively detracts from the story, in my opinion.
Nah. Zero is part of MSQ so she's got a MASSIVE chance of returning as side content in a later expansion. Probably an exploratory thing or some raid series. They were willing to make an exploratory mission out of Ivalice, and that was side content.

They understand that a lot of players simply REFUSE to play the game, and they don't want to put a bunch of extra baggage on new players that are coming into the game (with the understanding that there's already a lot of story to get through). That said, I absolutely agree that they should be mandatory. A lot of the side content is better than the MSQ and it's fricking moronic that some people refuse to do it or just skip through the cutscenes. The devs should be more willing to force the players to actually play and enjoy the fricking game.
In an expansion or two I can ABSOLUTELY see the Void Quests becoming mandatory for other stuff. Maybe not for MSQ, but for an exploratory mission. If only because it'd be bafflingly easy to do all of the role quests and solo the Warring Triad. Hell, throw Eden in there, too. It'd be really cool to have Cylva, Unukulhai, Zero, Golbez Ryne, Gaia, and all of the Role Quest bros working together to save the Void as part of an exploratory mission. Would be a fantastic cast of characters. Probably better than the Scions.

When Crystal Tower became required in 5.3 there was a huge uproar on the official forums. I don't get it either. They play a game primarily for the story but then don't want to engage with any part of the story that isn't absolutely required.

There are two major jobs left from FFXI not in the game that are an easy fit: the physical melee dps Corsair and the magical range dps Puppet Master.
Corsair fits because they use a sword and a flintlock pistol called a hexagonne and since 1.0 theres been a Corsair guild sign next to the Marauders guild in Limsa Lominsa with scrapped plans for it to branch off from Rogue like Arcanist into SMN/SCH. Meteor in the trailer is very clearly in Corsair Artefact Gear and using a one hand sword with a pistol edited out for the initial reveal. Being the only sword use job without some variant in game already and the pirate job when hes dressed like one it seems obvious.
For the caster theres been drip feeds of Puppet Master since 2.0. The GSM ARR questline for example, the cardians in the Azime Steppe and so on and most recently the Galatea Parva/Magna in the reaper dungeon with notes stating "the last puppet master left for a land of great beauty" because emet/solus decreed the reapers to disband after he felt the magitek reaper armour made them redundant. We know Kriles getting the new caster job and in the latest patch finds an old letter to Galuf from a friend talking about a job in Tu'ral and she comments on how all the tidying up would be easier with a mammet. Puppet Master are a school of black magic that use mammets,cardians and parva as their spellcasting mediums.
At this point unless they are new jobs every other option exists in game already e.g Pictomancer and BLU or Time Mage and AST.

Thats a typical yoshi red herring. The earring is a reference to the Viera and Erenvilles homeland just happens to be Tural. With Viera living much longer than humans its almost certain we are going to meet the person who send the letter decades ago waiting for Galuf to return the earring.
There hasn't really been any references to GRN in XIV and in this case the Clover is specifically a nod to the tactics games where all GRN happened to be Viera. Meanwhile we've had PUP teases for years and literally before she opens the envelope Krile says "this would be so much easier with a mammet of my own".

Make Beastmaster the beastiary for the game with a log for bios of each enemy you fight as BST. Skills are gained normally but can only be used in limited job format since stats will be done like BLU's cane. Main point would be to use the monsters you catch in battles like XI's Pankration, with the reward being Centurio Seals.
Or split the idea and have Puppetmaster be about monster battles with automatons while Beastmaster would be like XI's Monstrosity.

That was the 1.0 CNJ questline, yeah. They seemed to be picking it back up in HW with the DRK questline but then it got dropped again. It seemed like they were going to connect elementals and dragons. Like when E-Sumi looks at Rielle he initially thinks she's housing an elemental's soul, and then realizes it's actually a dragon. You'll also notice that dragons around Anyx Trine have names that sound a lot like Padjali names.
