Reading the spoilers for the Alliance Raid I'm not even sure I want to resub.
It feels like they're going out of their way to kill the mysteries and magic of the setting just because they can't think of how to incorporate them back into the story somehow and instead have to shove in 'emotional' moments.
I miss the Void Ark series, and Ivalice, and the Four Lords.
Eden sucked. Nier raids sucked. Pandaemonium sucked as soon as it hit P8. Myths was a good set up and absolutely fumbled it.
I cannot be bothered to care about Zero or Durante or Golbez or Azdaja. I would have preferred the fricking Cloud of Darkness showing up and slapping their shit in just to show she's still the big boss of the Void.
I dearly hope Dawntrial is more like the initial part of 6.1 where it's just a comfortable adventure without stupid bullshit going on, but I can already tell they're probably going to try and make it 'dramatic' in some way. At the end yeah. While getting there I didn't feel a whole lot, but I think the ending portions made it clear they are opening the door to a lot of other possibilities.

It is possible to configure xivalex to enable impossible triple weaves, but on the default settings it (and noclippy) are basically bugfixes, not cheats. Note that if you do enable impossible weaving it will also get you blacklisted on fflogs.

Man, if there's one thing I wish XIV would stop doing, it's introducing new characters and then immediately shooing them out the door 10 minutes later because they were introduced at the end of a questline. I remember when Seiryu did that in the Four Lords quests where he just shows up, you fight Kohryu, and then he's all "I'll see you later, my homie." when you barely know the guy beyond him trying to kill you.
Same happened with Thaliak and Llymlaen since you spend less time with them than the other members of the Twelve. You'd think Thaliak would get more focus given he's the patron deity of the main cast, but I guess we can just eat shit.

What would make more sense is if the devs either uses 7.0 as a new "beginning" for low level players to pick from before they learn too much about Hydaelyn or if they use the ending of 6.0 to kickstart a "reintroduction" of all relevant scions where the scions managed to beat the Ascians all on their own and meet WoL for the first time so that they can act as inspiration fodder for new players while said players takes a backseat for a little while as they gain more power

Devs hate the idea of expecting players to do optional content so Cylva and Unukalhai will never be truly relevant in the MSQ. The most you'll get is if they decide to add more Void Quests.

The story and lore used to be the highlight of this game but this showed how little they actually give a shit about it anymore. They literally set up Cylva and Unukalhai saving the Void at the SAME TIME they were writing this and nobody thought it might be important to tie it in. Everything is segmented into little boxes now. It's frustating as hell man. I honestly would have preferred that the story stopped completely at the close of 6.0.

FFXI trusts are actually good, they work in every piece of content, coordinate with themselves and you, and didn't require anything to be nerfed to accomidate them.
You can even do endgame content with them, that's how intuitive they are.

Trusts have to be individually programmed for every single dungeon so they cut out all the quirky stuff to make it easier for them. It's all because of trusts.

Incorrect, people have always used programs outside of the game to communicate and keep in touch, Discord only centralizes this instead of making you have 3 different things running.
None of those programs ever totally replaced the game chat like discord does. They were mostly voice servers for your guild to hang out with as a supplement to the game chat. Don't pretend you were there lil' zoomzoom.
They did, there were many ways to communicate with people outside of the game via forums, IRC, and chat rooms. It's not like today where it's just socializing, back then there was a very direct need for endgame related issues to always be connected to the other people within your groups as well.
It was never this bad, though. Yeah, people use third party software for voice chat, but in game chat was still used. Now in FFXIV it might as well not exist.

Reading the spoilers for the Alliance Raid I'm not even sure I want to resub.
It feels like they're going out of their way to kill the mysteries and magic of the setting just because they can't think of how to incorporate them back into the story somehow and instead have to shove in 'emotional' moments.
I miss the Void Ark series, and Ivalice, and the Four Lords.
Eden sucked. Nier raids sucked. Pandaemonium sucked as soon as it hit P8. Myths was a good set up and absolutely fumbled it.
I cannot be bothered to care about Zero or Durante or Golbez or Azdaja. I would have preferred the fricking Cloud of Darkness showing up and slapping their shit in just to show she's still the big boss of the Void.

It is possible to configure xivalex to enable impossible triple weaves, but on the default settings it (and noclippy) are basically bugfixes, not cheats. Note that if you do enable impossible weaving it will also get you blacklisted on fflogs.
Alex and no clippy are literally the same thing. The only way you can get impossible weaves is compiling alex yourself and changing code

What would make more sense is if the devs either uses 7.0 as a new "beginning" for low level players to pick from before they learn too much about Hydaelyn or if they use the ending of 6.0 to kickstart a "reintroduction" of all relevant scions where the scions managed to beat the Ascians all on their own and meet WoL for the first time so that they can act as inspiration fodder for new players while said players takes a backseat for a little while as they gain more power

Miss or fail to compete a season/series in time and you miss minions, mounts, and even fricking EMOTES, and its a timesink. It wouldn;t be so bad if those items were put on a vendor for crystals or whatever a season or two later, or if you could use crystals to buy items that let you put XP/levels towards an old Series , or even if you can decide to choose an old series to put your XP toward if you finish the current one but no - apparently its battle pass grindathon bullshit

Devs hate the idea of expecting players to do optional content so Cylva and Unukalhai will never be truly relevant in the MSQ. The most you'll get is if they decide to add more Void Quests.

FFXI trusts are actually good, they work in every piece of content, coordinate with themselves and you, and didn't require anything to be nerfed to accomidate them.
