This seems to have a similar target. I guess the idea is that if you already play MMOs, an FFXIV is not going to convince you to play the game if you aren't already, so they are targeting an alternative audience.

Unfortunately, XIV has been a pretty welcoming community, so troons would quickly take hold. But... it doesn't. You can just not play the story if you want to and still enjoy the game. You can also completely skip the 1 to 80 story, and jump straight into the expansions. Unlike XIV gw2 doesn't lock most of its content behind MSQ.

GW2 is fun when you explore it for the first time but there's absolutely nothing to do once you completed each map. The PvP is horribly balanced, the performance is dogshit and the fractals and raids get boring very quickly. This hasn't changed ever since the game released its first expansion.

I really tried giving FF a chance but this game is fricking old and dated and it shows in everything, from UI, graphics, level design all the way to controls and gameplay.
WoW is pozzed and dug underneath 6 ft of distracting system turning this game into a moba soloq but its core gameplay is still top notch after 19 years. If I had to choose one in 2023 I'd rather not play MMOs at all.

FFXIV has such a bad engine that Beastmaster was going to be a limited job before they decided to never make another limited Job again, therefore never making besstmaster. Why? Because something as simple as taming pets, which wow had 20 years ago, is beyond what FFXIV can do.
FFXIV also still has a vanilla wow style debuff cap which has led them to almost completely remove DoTs from the game.
FFXIV also erroneously doubles your pin for animation locks.

They just added nine new servers and a new data center to China to handle the population explosion, so I'd wager it still has quite some time left if additional servers are still required ten years after launch.
