If my WoL gets in trouble they're calling the padjals and the conjurers guild, mylla and the gladiators, or even dumbshit monk and his catgirl apprentices before the scions. Or just run into mommy miounne's arms. It's always weird when the story assumes the scions are the centre of our world when that same story doesn't often have them do anything for us. We're just a low paid employee that the company cannot function without. The characters who actually help us grow are sequestered into job stories and city state/gc choices.

Be grant a seat is a very respectful and basically pinnacle of ancient society. There is nothing higher and you are expect to either do job forever or until you are satisfied with what you achieved and find a replacement. She's basically a foreigner but otherwise is far more qualified than anyone left in Conrad's resistance faction by the time he bites it, plus she had a famous father to give her some extra brand recognition among the older peasants.

For potd I'd say just keep going MCH and get comfortable with it, you don't even need to be super on point for 180 nowadays watch an Angelus vod and use his setup and you'll be fine even if you fumble one gcd, nerves are a b***h but MCH is king in potd. If you already did HoH and you're good with time you can try WAR and race the clock instead similar to HoH too.
The demolishers in EO you can line of sight, and you should be getting used to LoSing stuff anyway for later and HoH, but in EO you can play any job you like as it tests mechanics more than DD-specific stuff so go with whatever you're comfortable with.

For PotD you'll want 99/99, can start at 80/80 or something I think and get the rest while climbing? For EO 60/60 is doable if you don't get fricked too much by bad demiclone RNG and a bad job, use demiclones for every boss starting at floor 60, they're great value on boss floors.

Dragonflight flopped, Barry. FFXIV is still the best and most widely-played MMO right now. Endwalker was one of the best games of all time and the patches are fine. Urianger had a nice moment with Ryne but Urianger is also a sneaky ass that can't afford to be sincere with anyone most of the time. The twins aren't emotionally mature enough, Estinien is an edgelord with stunted emotional growth, G'raha is an idiot. I guess Tataru and Krile could also do well but they're rarely around when someone actually needs that emotional rock. And I don't think Minfilia was really anyone's emotional rock. In fact she's the main reason Thancred can't be one.
Alphinaud gets outed as immature in HW, doesn't grow up any (his refusal arguably lets him save Estinien), and that gets retconned in StB where he's the arrogant dipshit boss man from ARR again.

To be fair having one scion be who you vent to would take away from the teamwork dynamic. That would also mean the writers making a scion that isn't on the spectrum which seems like a challenge for them.

I said in a recent thread that I dig how they've made this banterish/flirty relationship with Y'shtola that makes her feel more like a close companion. Or how Estinien is REALLY into being your aibo and how he really likes the idea that you're his equal. I feel being WoL's emotional rock would be a cool role for Urianger (so long as they stop throwing him into "lying for the greater good" roles) since it would be easy to see him just having 1 on 1 chats where he throws some wisdom and advice at you.
On that same note, I wish they'd solidify some of the others. For example the whole "Alisaie admires WoL and wants to rival him" thing falls flat on it's face imo because it just bounces off WoL like shit thrown at a wall. And there straight up seems to be no such specific dynamic with Thancred, beyond the fact he's the only Scion who ever occasionally points out how odd WoL can be.

World powers don't generally look positively to a mercenery crew of people holding a lot of sway in the world and even gaining political authority. There is nothing to say that scions wouldn't overthrow governments they don't see fit to rule or some members of the scions using the group for dubious means.
And the possibility of WoL ascending to a godly status could be worrisome as well, especially for religious authorities.

Once everything settles down and the scions don't have to constantly save the day, everyone and their mother is going to try and get them to take sides and interfere in everything, which defeats the point of one of Endwalker's main themes. People should stand up for and work on their own problems, together. The Scions shouldn't be dragged into Uldah versus the monetarists, or negotiations with the Tribes. The city states need to figure these things out themselves instead of relying on superheroes to save them all the time.

Throwing bodies at the problems just makes the problem worse. It's stalling at best while you look for an actual solution. They say repeatedly the reason they managed to survive is because the Scions made sure no primals get summoned to begin with, it's why at the start of ARR they treat them with respect and facilitate them being able to work and have contacts. On the very rare occasion one gets summoned, they basically have to luck out hard, like with the Company of Heroes defeating Titan. And even then it still depends on which primal gets summoned, when Leviathan got summoned in ARR Merlwyb's automatic response was "Welp, we're dead, Limsa is over" until not!Mistbeard offers a plan to get you into combat.

For PotD you'll want 99/99, can start at 80/80 or something I think and get the rest while climbing? For EO 60/60 is doable if you don't get fricked too much by bad demiclone RNG and a bad job, use demiclones for every boss starting at floor 60, they're great value on boss floors.
For potd I'd say just keep going MCH and get comfortable with it, you don't even need to be super on point for 180 nowadays watch an Angelus vod and use his setup and you'll be fine even if you fumble one gcd, nerves are a b***h but MCH is king in potd. If you already did HoH and you're good with time you can try WAR and race the clock instead similar to HoH too.
The demolishers in EO you can line of sight, and you should be getting used to LoSing stuff anyway for later and HoH, but in EO you can play any job you like as it tests mechanics more than DD-specific stuff so go with whatever you're comfortable with.

Once everything settles down and the scions don't have to constantly save the day, everyone and their mother is going to try and get them to take sides and interfere in everything, which defeats the point of one of Endwalker's main themes. People should stand up for and work on their own problems, together. The Scions shouldn't be dragged into Uldah versus the monetarists, or negotiations with the Tribes. The city states need to figure these things out themselves instead of relying on superheroes to save them all the time.

Anon, the reason the city states didn't have any primals wipe them the frick out before ARR is because the Scions actually stopped all summonings during the 5 years from 1.0 to ARR.
If you ignore the dialogue that says the GCs are throwing bodies at the problems when they occur, sure you can headcanon that.
Throwing bodies at the problems just makes the problem worse. It's stalling at best while you look for an actual solution. They say repeatedly the reason they managed to survive is because the Scions made sure no primals get summoned to begin with, it's why at the start of ARR they treat them with respect and facilitate them being able to work and have contacts. On the very rare occasion one gets summoned, they basically have to luck out hard, like with the Company of Heroes defeating Titan. And even then it still depends on which primal gets summoned, when Leviathan got summoned in ARR Merlwyb's automatic response was "Welp, we're dead, Limsa is over" until not!Mistbeard offers a plan to get you into combat.

I never understood how they had any chance at all, even if they used like a 1000 echo-less guys against 1 primal. They'd all get tempered anyway once they get close. I guess with Leviathan I can see it if they just bombed his ass with cannons from a distance.
