I'd love to see some actual overhauls (ie yes, I think its moronic that they smartly make it easier for you to unlock pets/mounts from past expansions, but leave Relic weapons as a huge fricking grindy ball of nonsense when, so long as thy're not the current expansion, they're basically just glamour, no longer best-in-slots) . AND each Job's relic for a given tier requires the same level of stupid even if you've done others. I'd put up with doing it ONCE if every other job afterward you could easily go right to the highest tier you've unlocked. And no , all the crab bucket "I did it years ago so frick you suffer" whining can go to hell - you had the best in slot and the ooh ahhh shit for years, that was your reward. Now it needs to evolve given its current position in the game; all content should.
Costumes/skins are not a replacement for actual game problems, but people do enjoy them. The biggest issue with FFXIV is that so many of them, along with housing items , mounts, orchestreons etc..and fricking EMOTES..are cash shop exclusive bullshit. That's complete garbage when I'm paying a subscription.

Oh frick off the one "Oh, you only need to kill 3x instead of 10x , you can get tomestones to turn in for a map at one step " type shit years ago was a good first step, but they could go much farther . Its still a huge fricking bore and if you're doing in in "one sitting" i can't imagine you're not smelling like anything but rancid perineum after all that. Just grinding out the proper dailies to get the 12 stones for one of the easier steps can take a long fricking time, to say nothing for all the books (which could easily be compacted into a single book but no, you have to go back each time etc), and steps about imbuing light, going out and doing each map etc..long befor you get to the later stages. Even doing it unsync'd , its still fricking grindy as all hell and could easily have ohter sorts of catch up mechanics or ways to do later content and get a token you can use to complete a step or somthing, stop requiring those particular materia for the binding step etc.. They could have multiple ways to overhaul it similar to how you can turn in GC tokens to get mounts and pets (including the "collectible" horses, hawks, etc..), and optimize each step and/or allow some sort of catch up thing. If you get one job to Zeta, then having to grind the whole thing from the starter version on up seems foolish for another.

When ARR first started, you COULD as I recall - they made it so that if you wanted to buy them off season you could pay a few bucks but if you waited, you could unlock old stuff when the event was on again. I would prefer if the cash shop was only shit like story/job skips, fantasia, and maybe past promo items like /pizza. Everything else should come from unlocking in the game and its really moronic you can't get past holiday event items without paying.
