They should add a paint fume feature to PCT's OGCDs. The idea is that it would be a resource meter you don't want to fill. The OGCDs themselves have no cooldown at all, so you can hit them rapidly and repeatedly. Each use adds to the fumes. It goes down over time, but if you spam too much the paint fumes frick you up and you become confused for 10-15 seconds.

1) Zodiark was too OP and the Sundering spell was a last resort and the only thing that could stop him
2) The Sundering spell happened to be an aoe instead of a single-target so if she used it on him it'd sunder everyone and everything else

EW was a pretty shit expansion overall though. Only the base MSQ was good. Its content was weak and the post MSQ is the shittiest arc in the story. The base MSQ being good will be enough for Dawnddlers to view the whole expansion favorably though because they didn't have to spend years with *tips hat* and spreadsheet sanctuary.

No, it falls apart at 6.3 big time. 6.1 isn't good, either, the pacing has every issue patch MSQs have had since 4.2 where it's constantly biding your patience until next patch instead of being a mini story with its own conclusion that pushes the plot along gently.

HW had no content but people severely underrate how good the 3.X plot threads and pacing are. The raids were challenging and are still unique compared to the stuff we get now, jobs played differently, it was genuinely a different time you can't compare to modern XIV by saying it was bad because all you could do was Diadem, Savage, or PotD.

It needed to tie up every loose end of 1.0 and 2.0 and conclude the decade-long story while delivering on fanservice, new elements, and answers, which is a complete different assignment from previous expansion. Mostly being that SHB was allowed to be its own little thing, away from the ramifications of plot on Eorzea/The Source. I don't think there was any way for EW to have turned out good by sticking all of it into 6.0, regardless of head writer.

I pretty much feel the same, especially with garlemald. Some people tell me they like Julius but I fell asleep everytime he appeared. Quintus appeared for like 5mins and killed himself and his charisma was still more than the total of everyone involved in that area.
Plus the constant backtracking in a large area really fricked the pacing
EW is mediocre at best. Once you clear criterion, you're done. Once you get to rank 20 for your Island Sanctuary, you just check in once per week.
