The name came from before BA, but back in Mhach. He talked about the ideas of a Savage mode for Ozma, which was implemented for BA.
I think most players just don't know how annoying Mhach Ozma used to be. I really wish we got a new 24-man raid that is as difficult as Mhach or the Ivalice ones were on release.

Yeah ARR stuff in general was very strangely tuned, it was a note from Yoshida for the Ultima Weapon unreal trial that it's pretty much the first time anybody's ever actually had to do mechanics in that fight.
Ozma is the only 24 man boss that ever legit walled me out of a clear until timeout, which is why I'm always astounded people for some reason have the memory that TG Cid was worse.
I guess your mileage may vary. I remember having to go through a couple of vote abandons before i actually beat Osma for the first time, and TG Cid took my first group so long to beat that we timed out during Ultima
The only hard part about Ozma, as far as I remember, was the placement of the meteorites, because every single member of the raid needed to understand where they had to go if they were targeted, and one guy fricking it up was able to basically wipe a group, which in turn cascaded to wiping the other groups.
Still,better than the current raids where one healer knowing machanics can babysit the entire raid and limp them over the goal line.
I can't tell you how many times I had at least half my group get blasted and killed behind me as a tank when the tank lasers happened.

It's not as though I'm lagging behind as a tank, I'm keeping up but they keep using their skills to warp forward, pull and then act surprised when they get fricked by pulling aggro and instantly dying.

Just let them die, if they aggro stuff and make it hard for you to round it up then don't, keep going to the next pack.
They'll learn or leave, going ahead makes things slower because the tank has to run around trying to aggro everything before moving on.
A dps pulling ahead is expected to use stuff like Arm's Length before the pull, and to move that group to you. Everyone is just following what they think they saw and making things worse for their group.

They might try to blind prog for a while at first but they all go back after their session and review the mechanics up to their prog points and the next mechanic in the fight if it's been progged.
Why do you think there are teams not streaming? They don't want their figuring out of mechanics to be viewable for starters and for other teams to catch up.
I just don't get it. Maybe the fight would take a long time for you to solve on your own. Maybe even a year. But you will be playing for a year more (most likely). Why cheat yourself out of the satisfaction of learning the fight yourself?

I think there's a Roe kid in the game. In the Lochs, at the salt mine, there's a Hellsguard woman and right next to her is a little girl that has the same hair, skin, and eye color. Then there's a Highlander guy next to them that says "If only your father were here to see this," which makes it clear it's not meant to be his daughter. Teams are already dropping their PLDs, DNCs, SGEs and SMNs for buff limit and dps reasons. Its pretty crazy how the dps checks are forcing teams to change comp. Pots are mandatory in TOP and not an extra it seems

Yeah, you can see it bouncing a second before the clip happens. There seems to be some kind of priority system and you might want to feed dynamis to specific players as I don't believe everyone getting it is possible.

Depends on what strat your group is using.
groups im in put markers down. its ass relative. if youre on the outer left pie slice, look at tje bosses left ass cheek and take outer one. melee are generally in and ranged are generally out
Looking at his hitbox helps me. It has those little arrows on the side to show you have to be behind that. Also the part separating flank/rear should help with the middle two slices.
Also I guess markers should help if people manage to actually aim their line AOEs through them, so you can just stand between them.

From what we've seen so far it's trending towards being harder, it really depends on what the last 40% of the fight holds. DSR had doth and double dragons that ramped up the difficulty and prog time near the end and we obviously have no idea how long TOP is.
Unless the final phase is a giga freebie i'm going to say it ends up absolutely harder.
It's gonna filter anyone who can't dps until 6.5. I can't remember how long DSR took to clear but I don't think TOP's going to be cleared on Monday either
So far p5 of TOP have more pulls than DSR p6 and p7 combined and we are still only at 2nd trio.
Neverland had over 600 pulls on DSR and they are now over 700 in TOP with only 60-70% of the fight done.
Frick man DSR took me so long to clear, TOP is going to be months
It depends, because the difficulty might be because there's some esoteric mechanic that stops being hard once it's figured out rather than pure mechanical complexity.
There's nothing so far that would make the fight easier, probably will make it even harder when you will know what to do with dynamis buffs.
