Okay, imagine a situation where the boss jumps away or you have to disengage for a GCD. Yes I know that sounds crazy if you look at most of the current savage fights, but it happens. Now imagine how much "little variation to the rotation" fricks you over now.

Downtime is expected in some fights and you should plan around them, most of the time the downtime is after a burst or before a burst so you just hold resources

Entering a no mercy window with 1 cart as opposed to 2 at 80 was an incredibly minor potency loss, like 30 or something since you only missed a burst strike and nothing drifted. It also didn’t matter, because you could realign and make your next window a 2-cart without any drift.
At 90, because you need all three carts at the beginning of NM (1 for gnashing fang, 2 for DD), you either massively drift DD to literally the second to last or last GCD of NM which can frick your timings and possibly fall out of NM due to drift, or hit the DD and your gnashing fang gcds fall out of NM for the rest of the fight. That’s the difference, DD existing makes the NM entry very rigid versus ShB where it was much more free form and forgiving.
I really hate that the fujo writers have forced this character into a main spot when he's multiple magnitudes less developed and interesting that other characters we have met.

I do somewhat agree with you about Ishikawa. There hasn't been much that she was responsible for that I'm not a fan of.
I gave Erenville more slack after I went and asked myself if I was being fair or not. Because at first my knee jerk was butthurt at no investment in this compared to if it was a scion or someone we cared about - IE Lyse connecting us to Ala-Mhigo-SB, Yuigiri to Doma-SB. Then I realized the aformentioned cases of 'random dude from the past with little interest in him at the time (Graha tia / Ardbert) becomes major character (Shadowbringers)'. The turn around for making a character compelling can be very brief. Which is both praiseworthy and a bit damning that they could be firing on all cylinders but don't all the time. But they can also fumble tremendously on it as we saw with Zero or moderately with Yotsyuyu.
I risk making a self-fulfilling prophecy with my expectations, but I think it's safe to bet the succession arc is going to be mid at best and joins-the-worst-MSQ-trilogy at worst. But the second half is going to be better or even great in itself. And I say that not exactly being sure how to take Solution 9. But hell, at least that's going to require creativity to get working.

I leveled up 6 times in Pagos and got to Hydratos, only to realize that I've been wasting my time in Eureka because the cool armor are locked behind shitty grinds and not just clearing Eureka. You've got it completely messed up. Umbral is passive, it always is, and ice regenerates MP because you slow the aether you're shitting out. Astral is active, and it empowers your spells because they become more energetic.
The twist in ShB is that, while people on the Source associate Astral with Light and Umbral with Darkness, the source Umbral is actually Light and Astral is Dark. It's not the active/passive that's mistaken.
I genuinely do not get how this is such a point of confusion for most of the playerbase.
I'd imagine the main reason it's confusing is that Umbra literally means Shadow, so of course it's associated with darkness. However that's assuming XIV players would know Latin, so idk.

I'm not sure what server you are on, or if you even play the game at all, but everywhere I go it's packed. There are so many new sprouts I cannot get anything higher than HW in my roulettes.
I've played ffxiv for 1700 hours. I've cleared p1s to p12s, thaleia, most criterion dungeon, extremes including Golbez and Zeromus and last few recent Unreals. Honestly pass trough all story campaing without skiping. Tried some casual activites. And realized that even tranniefurry shitlands better than this weeb game. Ffxiv is not even a MMORPG. It's just the big bunch of QTE. This game feels like OSU or other rhythm shit. Loot means nothing except passing through dps check. You character didn't changes with gearing him. Savages and extremes are hard as frick, and ultimates even harder. When you clear it you feel hollowed. Ffxiv sisters tells that this game is for chilling, but that's a lie. All endgame content is about parsing QTE raids. And community is much toxic. They never forgive you even one mistake. And they can't bear any criticism about they gorgeous game. There is only 2 ways of playing ffxiv. Ass sniffing in Limsa Lominsa and qte raids.
In worlo you can clear heroic, you can make keymaster, and receive full experience. Yes there is so much shit with timegates, moron, furries, stupid story, ridiculous alt hate systems, but the core content is available for all levels of player skill.
Frick ffxiv. I will better play furry worlo rather than this OSU and DMC reskin.

Why is that? Legit question, I'm from the fps/fgc land and don't know if it's actual banter or some toxic shite.
In general MMO players don't care about other MMO players, it's a bit like the FGC or the old days when FPS games all shared the same LANs and people appreciated the other titles that they didn't play. The problem is that WoW players specifically are very tribal by nature, from the very beginning in 2004 they stepped out and began harassing every other MMO playerbase in the manner that you'd see console fanboys attack eachother. The reason why XIV draws so much of their attention is because it's successful and in more recent years has become a legitimate threat to their favorite game that they worship.
It's tiresome, especially when you look at situations such as this website and how specific moderators have spent nearly a decade deleting/attacking threads for XIV out of tribal fervor.
Man I have played XIV for about eight years and never given WoW even a passing thought except when some moron comes into these threads to spew shit. I do not understand this shit in the slightest.

Sena's performance in 6.55 was really frickin lackluster. Inconsistant accent, clearly having problems maintaining their voice in higher stress parts like combat yells and shit. Two points of note however is that the initial line from the CG trailer was actually fairly well done (to the point that nobody guessed it was a troony before he came out on Twitter and said so) and pretty much all of the voice performances in 6.55 sucked so maybe it was the result of a hastily recorded session or something. I dunno. I'm not terribly optimistic but there is a chance it could get better.
My only problem with the trailer line is that it made me think Wuk Lamat was supposed to be middle aged. Other than that, the delivery was fine. If the voice directors do their job and he gets some proper voice training and it isn't painful to listen to, then it's fine.
Honestly most of the voice acting during the EW patches has been rather meh, they re-used the scions for the ally raids and most of them are either doing the same voice or a poorly augmented one and then we have situations like Ryne's VA forgetting how to do her voice. Personally I don't care, I'm not autistic, but it is annoying that this one thing has been latched onto by shitposters.

Entering a no mercy window with 1 cart as opposed to 2 at 80 was an incredibly minor potency loss, like 30 or something since you only missed a burst strike and nothing drifted. It also didn’t matter, because you could realign and make your next window a 2-cart without any drift.
At 90, because you need all three carts at the beginning of NM (1 for gnashing fang, 2 for DD), you either massively drift DD to literally the second to last or last GCD of NM which can frick your timings and possibly fall out of NM due to drift, or hit the DD and your gnashing fang gcds fall out of NM for the rest of the fight. That’s the difference, DD existing makes the NM entry very rigid versus ShB where it was much more free form and forgiving.
I really hate that the fujo writers have forced this character into a main spot when he's multiple magnitudes less developed and interesting that other characters we have met.

I do somewhat agree with you about Ishikawa. There hasn't been much that she was responsible for that I'm not a fan of.
I gave Erenville more slack after I went and asked myself if I was being fair or not. Because at first my knee jerk was butthurt at no investment in this compared to if it was a scion or someone we cared about - IE Lyse connecting us to Ala-Mhigo-SB, Yuigiri to Doma-SB. Then I realized the aformentioned cases of 'random dude from the past with little interest in him at the time (Graha tia / Ardbert) becomes major character (Shadowbringers)'. The turn around for making a character compelling can be very brief. Which is both praiseworthy and a bit damning that they could be firing on all cylinders but don't all the time. But they can also fumble tremendously on it as we saw with Zero or moderately with Yotsyuyu.
I risk making a self-fulfilling prophecy with my expectations, but I think it's safe to bet the succession arc is going to be mid at best and joins-the-worst-MSQ-trilogy at worst. You've got it completely messed up. Umbral is passive, it always is, and ice regenerates MP because you slow the aether you're shitting out. Astral is active, and it empowers your spells because they become more energetic.
The twist in ShB is that, while people on the Source associate Astral with Light and Umbral with Darkness, the source Umbral is actually Light and Astral is Dark. It's not the active/passive that's mistaken.
I genuinely do not get how this is such a point of confusion for most of the playerbase.
I'd imagine the main reason it's confusing is that Umbra literally means Shadow, so of course it's associated with darkness. However that's assuming XIV players would know Latin, so idk.

It is the newest DC in America, the game has an issue where Aether is for everything that isn't RP, and Crystal (Balmung more so and Mateus as a secondary) for RP.
Dynamis was made for the future but it was made too late to be of use right now. We all saw how insane things got when EW launched and they wanted to have room to make sure that didn't happen again next expansion. At least you can DC travel and play normally elsewhere.

I've played ffxiv for 1700 hours. I've cleared p1s to p12s, thaleia, most criterion dungeon, extremes including Golbez and Zeromus and last few recent Unreals. Honestly pass trough all story campaing without skiping. Tried some casual activites. And realized that even tranniefurry shitlands better than this weeb game. Ffxiv is not even a MMORPG. It's just the big bunch of QTE. This game feels like OSU or other rhythm shit. Loot means nothing except passing through dps check. You character didn't changes with gearing him. Savages and extremes are hard as frick, and ultimates even harder. When you clear it you feel hollowed. Ffxiv sisters tells that this game is for chilling, but that's a lie. All endgame content is about parsing QTE raids. And community is much toxic. They never forgive you even one mistake. And they can't bear any criticism about they gorgeous game. There is only 2 ways of playing ffxiv. Ass sniffing in Limsa Lominsa and qte raids.
In worlo you can clear heroic, you can make keymaster, and receive full experience. Yes there is so much shit with timegates, moron, furries, stupid story, ridiculous alt hate systems, but the core content is available for all levels of player skill.

In general MMO players don't care about other MMO players, it's a bit like the FGC or the old days when FPS games all shared the same LANs and people appreciated the other titles that they didn't play. The problem is that WoW players specifically are very tribal by nature, from the very beginning in 2004 they stepped out and began harassing every other MMO playerbase in the manner that you'd see console fanboys attack eachother. The reason why XIV draws so much of their attention is because it's successful and in more recent years has become a legitimate threat to their favorite game that they worship.
It's tiresome, especially when you look at situations such as this website and how specific moderators have spent nearly a decade deleting/attacking threads for XIV out of tribal fervor.

And this is JUST THE MINIMUM. THEY AREN'T EVEN CONFIDENT ENOUGH TO ANNOUNCE A RELEASE DATE YET. IT'S DEFINITELY NOT GOING TO BE THAT EARLY IN THE SUMMER.

Sena's performance in 6.55 was really frickin lackluster. Inconsistant accent, clearly having problems maintaining their voice in higher stress parts like combat yells and shit. Two points of note however is that the initial line from the CG trailer was actually fairly well done (to the point that nobody guessed it was a troony before he came out on Twitter and said so) and pretty much all of the voice performances in 6.55 sucked so maybe it was the result of a hastily recorded session or something. I dunno. I'm not terribly optimistic but there is a chance it could get better.
My only problem with the trailer line is that it made me think Wuk Lamat was supposed to be middle aged. Other than that, the delivery was fine. If the voice directors do their job and he gets some proper voice training and it isn't painful to listen to, then it's fine.
Honestly most of the voice acting during the EW patches has been rather meh, they re-used the scions for the ally raids and most of them are either doing the same voice or a poorly augmented one and then we have situations like Ryne's VA forgetting how to do her voice. Personally I don't care, I'm not autistic, but it is annoying that this one thing has been latched onto by shitposters.
Just please don't have her be the narrator for the expansion
