5.3 should've been cut out and Elidibus + Zodiark saved for the main antagonists of Endwalker. Hermes / Meteion should never have been written. The entire plot of expansion should've been the last big attempt by the remaining Ascians (Eldibus and the rest of the sundered) to complete their work for the Great Rejoining
There would be no entity behind the Final Days. The Star was simply dying of natural causes. The fate of all worlds is that the laws of reality upon the star will unravel and all maner of frickery will begin leading to a seriess of events that ultiamtely end in the planet's demise.
Think Dark Souls 3, when you get to the Soul of Cinder and you can look around and see the entire fricking world is mashed together from multiple different timelines. Tbat is how I interpreted "The laws of reality became undone" which Emet said in 5,0. But then Endawlker came and they just went "er it was just the aetherial currents shut down lol lmao". In my version the "laws of reality breaking" would be quite literal. The monsters seen in Amaurot dungeon are just a consequence of the world ceasing all logical sense. and wierd abominations spontaneously pop into existence and start wreacking havoc. Everything just starts not making sense and falling apart. That's the Final Days.
Also, upon killing Elidibus/Zodiark, you quite literally doom the world to innevitable death. Instead of like how it was actually written Zodiark's magic does not fade immediately upon his death, but it will at some inderminate amount of time afterwards. Could be a year, could be decades, could be thousands or millions of years. Eventually his magic will fade and the world will innevitably become undone as it was fated to do so and that'll be the end.
The moral of the expansion would be about accepting loss and learning to move on, and accept what time you have available, however short. Rather than the message of "Suffering Good" which Endwalker basically pushed.
So you just wanna trick the heroes into dooming the planet because they didn't know what they were doing? Because if the Ascians were 100% correct in what they were doing there's not really any reason to not join them.
>The moral of the expansion would be about accepting loss and learning to move on, and accept what time you have available, however short. Rather than the message of "Suffering Good" which Endwalker basically pushed
Christ, Ganker really is full of midwits
Anything would've been better than >just kill a e-girl to end the world's suffering bro.
Personalisation of the cataclysm was the laziest move ever. The final days should have been a force of nature, something you can't simply fight and defeat.
Also the fact that we realize the cause of Blasphemy transformations within the first ten minutes was also fricking moronic.
something like this is what i'd expect from worlo. what made the whole elidibus thing good was it only lasted for 2 patches, which added to the feeling of desperation from elidibus. dragging it out would have been worse
When they made mandatory fetch quests for the main plot.
Yes.
Since A Realm Reborn
That shit was boring as hell
And the toxic community ruin everything else
The plot goes worse and worse with each expansion, since Stormblood
>When they made mandatory fetch quests for the main plot.
yes cause kill 10 monkeys, cut off their wieners, and collect them for me is better
This would have been moronic.
What some of you gays don't seem to realize is that each expansion villain is completely different and they bring out a new argument and conversation against the heroes from whatever came before.
If Elidibus came after Emet-Selch it would literally just be the same shit again, we know this because the confrontation with Elidibus that already exists in 5.3 WAS the exact same shit as the one with Emet, down to the cutscene direction, which is fairly palatable in a patch but not so much in an expansion.
This is also why Varis was killed off and not made an expansion villain, because he would have just been Gaius again.
>This is also why Varis was killed off and not made an expansion villain, because he would have just been Gaius again.
They could of done civil war kino. But from what I gather FFXIV was about to go into maintenance mode before the population surge.
[...]
At least we got Memoria Misera trial.
The way we got the Varis trial makes me wonder how much cut MSQ content there is that gets repurposed. I always felt like FF14 content was extremely planned out but that was the first instance where it seemed like they had made MSQ related content that they suddenly had no plan for and had to salvage it by introducing it somewhere else.
I honestly doubt it, the Varis trial is noticeably lower budget than what you'd see from the MSQ.
It's clearly just something patched together for the people who were disappointed Varis was killed off before we could fight him.
I guess it could be. I was looking through the older expansions and I forgot there was actually 8 extremes in stormblood (monster hunter trial was the 8th) so maybe they just had enough budget to make another trial.
>This is also why Varis was killed off and not made an expansion villain, because he would have just been Gaius again.
They could of done civil war kino. But from what I gather FFXIV was about to go into maintenance mode before the population surge.
I wish that we atleast got to fight Varis as a trial or something. He had a cool design and i feel that it was wasted.
That's slightly missing the point though.
You can change the context around Varis, but at the end of the day when you're having the big stand-off cutscene where he's spouting his ideals at you he wouldn't really have anything new to say.
The game has already covered the two Garlean extremes - a noble man who thinks his cause is just and his opposition is actually in the wrong (Gaius) and a crazy motherfricker who just wants to kill people (Zenos).
The only other real psosible slot for Varis to fit into here would be the crazy nationalist blindly following what he's told like the guys we see in Endwalker, but that's not exactly fitting for the guy running things in the first place.
Hell, even trying to make him a 500 IQ Ascian backstabber would have been played out cause Thordan already pulled that card.
When they made mandatory fetch quests for the main plot.
Yes.
Since A Realm Reborn

They retconned lahapussy beats you in an instanced bossfight ARR with an unwinnable dps check and hydaelyn resurrects you , that is the beginning of this game going to shit even in the plot
Not necesary just thancred going to die like possesed estinien , lahabrea teasing you and hydaelyn exorcising meanwhile you trie to survive and not killing the boss that is a better idea of reworked bossfight and filtering morons
I mean they fricked up memebrea with a shitty retcon that he beats when he was a shitlord in plot power terms for possesing too much bodies and you literally beat a primal eater gundam before that
people saying it was going to be lavos was a meme, you need to be a moron to think the main villain of the game will be something from another unrelated rpg which final form is a Cell bootleg
Lavos was the better option over Jenova to be fair
I think it's hilarious that people immediately saw Elpis as Zeal but can't get over the fact that that itself was the sole CT reference
>people saying it was going to be lavos was a meme
lol, no, plenty were aboard the "Elpis = Zeal" hype train based off of the artwork prior to release.
The only people that have a problem with Endwalker are WoW trannies physically shuddering in a puddle of piss and shit. It was a phenomenal expansion you guys are just brainlets if serious and not trolling.
When they somehow decided not to include Ryne in Endwalker for more than like two quests where you visit the First. Frick you, Ishikawa, she earned her place on the team. Only reason she was sidelined was so that Krile's useless ass would have something to do as mommy Venat's mouthpiece.
>the biggest reveals of the entire plot happen in Shadowbringers, even the devs say this when they talk about how they okayed Ishikawa to reveal about 80% of their planned plot in that expansion >learn the full spectrum of the Ascians' plans after all these years >prevent a rejoining which would have caused a disaster even worse than what happened at the Battle of Cartenau thanks to the Garleans using biological warfare >kill the head of the Empire (Solus/ Hades) and the last unsundered Ascian; their defacto leader after Emet-Selch's death, even if he once acted in opposition to the Convocation for the sake of the whole. The two largest threats since even 1.0 both lose their leadership. >filler expansion
It's fine if you didn't like it, but don't be disingenous about how important that expansion was. We literally prevent a calamity by hand when we go to the First and prevent it from tumbling over the edge. If you didn't like the moment to moment minutae of dealing with a world out of aetheric alignment then that's fine, but creating seven more such circumstances was the goal of the Ascians. We directly countered one of their plans from the ground up, starting with Minfilia when she went over in Heavensward.
>prevent a rejoining which would have caused a disaster even worse than what happened at the Battle of Cartenau thanks to the Garleans using biological warfare
How does timeline make sense if it was Zenos that stopped the gas attacks in the 1st place
It was partially him, partially Gaius and Estinien too, but the fact of the matter is that the rejoining would have worked if we didn't stop things in the Thirteenth when we did. Varis was already using Black Rose a fair bit before we went to the First (we found corpses killed by it), and had successfully primed the Source. If Emet-Selch or Elidibus had found a way to wake Eden or otherwise get the Flood of Light going again then the Source would've had its 8th Rejoining before Varis ever even died. Remember, Varis didn't die until after everything in 5.0 happened. Hell, a large part of why Zenos killed his dad is because he saw how effective Black Rose was and knew it could rob him of a fight with the WoL, because it would just straight up kill them.
The flood of light would have likely caused every facility producing Black Rose to go wildly out of control and spread like a plague on the entire continent, and despite Zenos' strength, if Emet Selch and Elidibus were both around at the same time, they could have put him down.
Good point, guess a Emet and Elidbus tag team would take out Zenos if WoL failed in the 1st.

If the WoL wouldn't be able to clear the First and return then I feel Zenos wouldn't be able to beat either unsundered Ascian either. Zenos was already weaker than the WoL and losing to them by that point, so if the WoL would be stopped by anything we faced in the First then Zenos would be too. Maybe they would need to power up a bit first, like how we beat up an Ardbert version of Elidibus and win prior to the final showdown with Primal WoLidubus, but they would definitely beat Zenos if they beat the WoL.
The flood of light would have likely caused every facility producing Black Rose to go wildly out of control and spread like a plague on the entire continent, and despite Zenos' strength, if Emet Selch and Elidibus were both around at the same time, they could have put him down.
Imagine how fricking strong an Ascian Prime made out of both Hades and Elidibus would be. Gimme that as an Ultimate, Yoshi, frick.

It would be a mess recicled spread fire dont move etc the game mechanics are getting old and thordan ultimate its just extreme on crack shitting mechanics per minute
Endwalker's pacing was just horrible. They should've went the route to finish it by 5.3 like previous expacs.
It was just all over the place and chaotic.
Even with everything going on we still had to slog through Loporrit filler on the moon and fetch quests in Laberynthos revisit. And your solution to remedy this is to have the story stretch out even more over 3 patches?
The loporrit stuff did feel a bit dragged out, but I didn't mind it much since we didn't spend much time in the greater whole of Mare Lamentorum and it was a very heavily advertised zone that I was eager to spend a bit of time in, and their little lunar colony was pretty neat to me. Couldn't agree more about the second half of Labyrinthos though, what a long, boring slog. The only part I even remember of it all these months later is Urianger having his admittedly very touching moment with Moenbryda's parents, and of course the actual reveal and takeoff of the Ragnarok. Other than that it's just a blur of disinterest as I try to find the fun in going from magical scientist to magical scientist telling them things related to preparing for launch.
Moon part was such a huge disappointment. The map is terrible too.
And Sage Council quest can suck a big fat dick, worst quest in the history of everything. After I was done with it I told Urianger to frick off.
yes, terrible moon zone overall. No crystal palace, no lunar suberrane/core dungeon. No unlocking boss fights to get your relics. then the completely empty area outside and utterly useless zone that will suffer the fate of story zones, being left to rot.
>learned the true meaning of friendship >got to help save the day >got accepted by his friend >finally got his 1 vs 1 > died happily
And all it took was 1 tiny elf girl telling him to stop acting like a moron
She's such a fine and refined lady. It would be a shame if you went to rule34 xxx website and searched for "webm ameliance_leveilleur" keywords.
A real shame.
Only thing I didn't like was making Ascians just giant humans. The mystery homies aesthetic was way better. And then they completely forgot about the size thing almost immediately.
throwing the eyes over the bridge
bringing back the eyes for shinryu
bringing back zenos
killing varis
not bringing gaius nero cid to garlemald
not having a dragon world or omega world
minfilllia being a dog
Omega does nothing in ultima tule thia patch sidequest and its just autistic robot searching what happened in endwalker and the stupid message of forge ahead and life its worth it AGAIN
>bird e-girl is jumping the shark
you clearly do not know what the phrase means. If that's jumping the shark then what the frick is zenos taking possession of shinryu supposed to be?
The moment they introduced time travel into SB
Time travel always poisons every piece of media it’s in that doesn’t explicitly revolve around time travel
Going to Elpis was a huge mistake, we should have never seen the Ancients, and they would have been forced to make the Meteion plot line reveal itself in a more interesting fashion if they couldn’t abused time travel to abuse the > cute thing is, the bad!
plot line that every modern video game is obsessed with
You can even tell it in the game, you literally go to Elpis because no one has any idea what the frick to do next, including the writers
yda not being yda
lakshimi not tempering alisaie for being a dumb c**t
the ascians not taking over wols body
tatarus scion airship disappearing
every fricking land being a democracy except not japan because its special.
mhiggers not being wiped off the face of the earth
I thought I was just going to do it for the meme of being able to put her in a skimpy outfit, but you actually get a nice-looking suit after you max out your reputation with her. Looks like a better version of that suit Tataru gives you at the end of HW or whatever.
Never really. I've rarely seen a story going on for ~10 years that was continuously as good as FFXIV and actually managed to land its (first story arc) ending.
>They narrowly escape the sundering themselves by being thrust back into the future by the end of the spell that kept the WoL anchored there, and Meteion accompanies him. >They also witness a scene in which a paranoid Hydaelyn reveals that the only person who could possibly stop her is the reincarnation of Azem, who would be predisposed to rejoining his former allies and gaining Zodiark’s blessing of darkness from Elidibus/Themis unless she tempers him first
Please don't tell me you wrote this shit anon
Cringe in execution but not the overall concept
They should have been two separate expansions, and everything about ShB was so screaming out that Hydaelyn might not be as trustworthy as we think she is (Light isn’t absolutely good anymore and balance is required, she’s a primal and primals temper their followers, she’s the reason everyone’s so weak in the first place) that having her be the final boss seemed natural
Of course they retcon all of this immediately afterwards with well akshually Hydaelyn didn’t want you to kill Zodiark all along, well akshually only the primals summoned by beat tribes temper except for Zodiark he’s still tempering the Ascians because shut up, and well akshually the godlike being was ONLY killable by 7/13ths of our good friend Azem because he has the part of dynamis, this was Venat’s cunning plan all along
People focus too much on Meteoin, she could have been set up better but she herself isn’t lore breaking, the problem is that EW shits all over everything that has been set up before it
Hermes makes an army of cute and funny bird girls to travel the stars to find other life but all they found was dead civilizations or those on the brink of it which caused them to believe that life was meaningless if it just ends so it would be a mercy to end it all.
More like the bird flock absorbed all the negativity they came across thanks to them being emotion sponges and in turn started to further perpetuate said negativity
More like the bird flock absorbed all the negativity they came across thanks to them being emotion sponges and in turn started to further perpetuate said negativity
Does that mean if one of them had sex all the others would not only feel it but broadcast and amplify it to everyone around them?
5.3 should've been cut out and Elidibus + Zodiark saved for the main antagonists of Endwalker. Hermes / Meteion should never have been written. There, I just fixed everything.

but you forgot The Final Days
>but you forgot The Final Days
Not enough aether on the planet, which is the reason canonically already.

You should do the Shadowbringers relic weapon quests.
Varis did get a trial
Fugg, I hate that the dyeable level 80 job outfits are locked behind Memoria Misera EX
Its actually alot easier to do them now with a lvl 90 party since you end up skipping alot of the later mechanics

Why would she be the one needing correction when Hermes was the moron that sent a child on a doomsday mission because he was in his feelings.
because hermes is in crystal hell
Shouldn't be.
Because while not her fault, she became a universe ending evil. Correction was needed to save both her, and life as we know it..
Is behemoth an okay server? I'm making a secondary character tonight.
Behemoth is the unofficial Brazilian server, so you decide. Ultros/Leviathan/Lamia/Excalibur are pretty comfy.
Indeed. Also bringing this frick back.
He should've stayed dead but nah fujoshits must ruin everything.
>m-muh fujoshits
Can't believe Endwalker turned him from worst to best antagonist.
>learned the true meaning of friendship
>got to help save the day
>got accepted by his friend
>finally got his 1 vs 1
> died happily
And all it took was 1 tiny elf girl telling him to stop acting like a moron
the average GNB enjoyer
Cute bird
trans infested game
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
MMMMYESSSSS
She is a classy and refined lady.
Don't you also get a glam for finishing her delivery quests?
Yes, appointed attire, and "Amie d'Améliance" title
She's such a fine and refined lady. It would be a shame if you went to rule34 xxx website and searched for "webm ameliance_leveilleur" keywords.
A real shame.
I refuse to believe there is anything of value in ff14 porn on rule34.
Only thing I didn't like was making Ascians just giant humans. The mystery homies aesthetic was way better. And then they completely forgot about the size thing almost immediately.
They sized you up cause it'd be silly to walk around as a midget.
>an FF game that hinted at a different bad guy behind everything from almost the beginning of the game
This is more warning than most of them, honestly, you're moronic if one of the better ideas of the entire plot is "jumping the shark"
Not just giant humans they re ancients elezens the most cliche and boring way of fantasy
why does that b***h have wings for ears?
link mega
Shadowbringers. I preferred liberating nations and killing false idols. It’s still good mind you, just not the direction I was hoping for.
Funny cause Endwalker was a really shitty expansion before Elpis.
ok Hermes
throwing the eyes over the bridge
bringing back the eyes for shinryu
bringing back zenos
killing varis
not bringing gaius nero cid to garlemald
not having a dragon world or omega world
minfilllia being a dog
Nero does go to garlemald but you need to do all the role quests to see it.
Omega does nothing in ultima tule thia patch sidequest and its just autistic robot searching what happened in endwalker and the stupid message of forge ahead and life its worth it AGAIN
After killing zodiac and zenos noping out like a pussy shonen villian power autist
midwits filtered by the great labrynthos 2.
fricking shitters .kys.
eating shit doesn't make you an intellectual
Funny if you re a wowfuge seething
Will we get an actual despair chapter one day? The final days were a disappointment.
Nope, unless the player base is so dead they do arr2.0
i smile everytime you despair gays get nothing. power of friendship will always win lol.

I don't see your point. Do you expect people to each make only one post?
>bird e-girl is jumping the shark
you clearly do not know what the phrase means. If that's jumping the shark then what the frick is zenos taking possession of shinryu supposed to be?
Shit was never good.
Why the frick are you morons spending $15 a month to play a fricking ps3 JRPG with watered down MMO gameplay?
To cope wow going to shit obviously
I think story wise I got the least out of EW.
The moment they introduced time travel into SB
Time travel always poisons every piece of media it’s in that doesn’t explicitly revolve around time travel
Going to Elpis was a huge mistake, we should have never seen the Ancients, and they would have been forced to make the Meteion plot line reveal itself in a more interesting fashion if they couldn’t abused time travel to abuse the
> cute thing is, the bad!
plot line that every modern video game is obsessed with
You can even tell it in the game, you literally go to Elpis because no one has any idea what the frick to do next, including the writers
yda not being yda
lakshimi not tempering alisaie for being a dumb c**t
the ascians not taking over wols body
tatarus scion airship disappearing
every fricking land being a democracy except not japan because its special.
mhiggers not being wiped off the face of the earth
Deus ex cat not dying or accounting the end days was his fault for messing the timeline
You forgot
>Garlemand being destroyed off screen.
Male vieras
But I want to frick them in the ass
She's going to come back any day now, mark my words!
Hopefully with a timeskip. That way Runar will be dust by the time we get there.
>Milf Ryne
>oracles
>both are out of a job now
what stupid characters and a waste of time.
id like a gnb ryne.
>Thancred dies from a big baddie
>To avenge him Ryne uses his gunblade and joins the party
Kino
How do I give my WoL this gigachad jawline?
Make a highlander Elezen or Roe.
>Elezen
only in very very specific lighting tho
they look goofy and gaunt otherwise
Elezen could be a great choice but their run animation is fricking horrible. SE needs to redo most of them.
>only in very very specific lighting tho
>they look goofy and gaunt otherwise
so does everyone else in this game honestly
> Put lipcolouring on
> Every lightsource relects right in the middle and makes it look like I have buckteeth
>hating on bird
>not hating on the real moronation that was Hermes plus his memory erasing machine
>Lyna's EN voice and accent
muh dicc
Have you maxed out her affection yet?
1 more week
I thought I was just going to do it for the meme of being able to put her in a skimpy outfit, but you actually get a nice-looking suit after you max out your reputation with her. Looks like a better version of that suit Tataru gives you at the end of HW or whatever.
It will look great on my tomboy fiddie
Yes.
>her dead husband was an Elezen
Catbros.......
Never really. I've rarely seen a story going on for ~10 years that was continuously as good as FFXIV and actually managed to land its (first story arc) ending.
You know EW is bad when a player has a better rewrite of the MSQ than the original version
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/466638-Rewritten-MSQ-Garlemald-and-EW
Male au'ra proving that theirs is the cringe crown, now and forever
Game of Thrones turned an entire generation into morons
People focus too much on Meteoin, she could have been set up better but she herself isn’t lore breaking, the problem is that EW shits all over everything that has been set up before it
Dynamis!
Damn bird, needs correction.
qrd on ew
its okay has some high highs still think shb is tighter and better. 8/10
Hermes makes an army of cute and funny bird girls to travel the stars to find other life but all they found was dead civilizations or those on the brink of it which caused them to believe that life was meaningless if it just ends so it would be a mercy to end it all.
who is hermes
Fandaniel.
Unironically some boss you already killed a million times
More like the bird flock absorbed all the negativity they came across thanks to them being emotion sponges and in turn started to further perpetuate said negativity
Does that mean if one of them had sex all the others would not only feel it but broadcast and amplify it to everyone around them?
what if the bird flock absorbed all my cum?
bros what does bird milk taste like
love my bird daughter
