Under 300K active players left
Playerbase is still in freefall
Content creators are quitting en masse
Even the modders are leaving in droves or cannibalizing themselves as the shit cake is rapidly shrinking
Mass dissatisfaction with the game, official forums are DOOM central, negativity everywhere
No content, but more cash shop stuff
Next expansion is set to be a boring, massive flop
What went wrong?
UFOs Are A Psyop Shirt $21.68 |
I dunno if it's dead or not but I have not been playing at all this year.
Blue are new players, red is existing, green is bots/indians.
I've preordered endwalker and never started it.
What do the colours even mean?
Blue are the new players
Red are the whales
Green are the bots
I made that up
balmung quicksand is still insanely packed.
most fun ive had in an mmo just piping stacked lizards
Pornsick trannies like you are all that is left
PF is dead
Nobody does any content, the remaining addicts do nothing but afk or jerk off at the thought of fricking or being fricked by another man
Its basically second life with a monthly fee
yeah all u care about it content but i like socializing and meeting people
sometimes its lewd sometimes its just talking for hours with new people.
stay mad still fricking the lizards
u shud also quit and never come back lol
Take a shower, go to the gym, and try to make some friends IRL, you fat, unwashed troglodyte, instead of paying a monthly fee so that people notice your pathetic existence
Insecure projections.
I'm not going to stop. You can't stop me.
I'll keep paying for it. I love FFXIV. I love it's aesthetic, I love the playerbase, I love Balmung.
>you can't stop me from being a loser!
im still gonna do it
im sorry
It's okay anon, we all go through our loser phase at some point. Just be sure to actually leave it when you're done in a few years instead of doubling down on it.
>acknowledging you went through a loser phase
i figured it was projection
im sorry u had a bad time bro. it doesnt mean the rest of us live in that dreary perspective.
>stay mad still fricking the lizards
The only thing you're fricking is your hand
And you pay for it
Lol
MMO's essentially died a decade ago, the playerbase that are left just refuse to leave their characters behind. It just takes some willpower to quit something you've invested years into.
1.5 was better than the current dogshit state of the game.
>six digit player counts are considered dead
I think the point is that it's not concurrent players so you might have something like 100k concurrent during peak hours
I mean it's find since the game is having a bit of a downtime before a big patch
>The number of active players, or paying members, is known only to the management, but the Lodestone Census calculates and announces the number of active characters each time based on changes in character information on the official website as a method of estimating a value closest to this number using publicly available information.
>
>In the 10 years since the new game was launched, the active character threshold has changed in response to changes in free trial conditions in the game, the introduction of level boost potions, etc., so it is difficult to make comparisons by simply listing the numbers from each survey.
>Therefore, rather than absolute numbers of the latest active characters, we have been using the fluctuation of achievement information of achievement-revealing characters as a data source to look at changes over a long period of time.
>We consider as active a character whose achievement information is added in some way every quarter, that is, every three months, and we observe how many characters were active in that quarter.
>
>The achievement information can be traced back to the beginning of the new service, and legacy characters can be traced back to their activity in the old FF14 by looking at the "Sixth Star History" (until December 2011, when the achievement feature was implemented, not at the beginning of the old FF14 service).
>
>So let's take a look at the population trends from Q4 2011 to the latest Q2 2023.
Are millennials really this bad at reading charts
>Forever ever games are not forever
Imagine my shock.
Hi Barry.
No covid boost
No streamer grift
Blizzard/wow aren't on fire
Wowfugees are leaving
No end of a 10 year story
6.x patches have been an unmitigated disaster
CBU3 prioritizing ff16
This year was packed with big titles that make ff14 look like a joke
And so on
It was actually a combination of factors that dealt the game a devastating blow
No surprise that the playerbase took a nosedive, Dawntrail also failed to get people hyped
What this guy said.
Also:
Those stats are opt-in only. Not actual player numbers. Most people are not tracked and from we know we are still above ShB level in terms of players. It's just that EWs launch was very fricking massive thanks to covid and WoW refugees jumping in.
>Blizzard/wow aren't on fire
WoW is pretty terrible at the moment, population dropped 2/3 since the start of DF, the community won't admit it but it's true
The eceleb & wow refugee bump has ended. Good because those people were insufferable min-maxxers who didn't fit in.
>still bigger numbers than on any other addons release during a content drought
call me when it's really dead and not dying tbh
People are not doing the content. Even if it was slow there was always a steady stream of people chasing achievements or doing community hunts etc. For the past year, it's a ghost town. The whole cross world thing has thrown datacenter off balance.
It's mostly down to 2023 having one of the greatest crops of games coming out ever. I haven't played in a month because of armored core 6. Also no more covid lockdown buffs.
What would kill the game is if they assume it's something they did differently and they need to pivot to more bozja or something. Now THAT would kill the game because it was never good content.
face it. people just want to play classic wow again. modern MMOs are dead
>IT'S DYING ITS IMPLODING OMG TORTANIC ITS OVER TORTANIC ITS OVER OMG
Delusional rage filled moronation.
Game is fine. Will see a surge next expansion like every expansion before.
don't care
someone post some sexy catgirls
>business model built on exploiting goodwill of MMO addicts while cutting content
The house of cards is finally collapsing, lol.
game was better before the mindless wowfugees and MMO hopping drones joined
if they're the ones fricking off then I don't know how this is bad
FF players we‘re actually fine with the content pacing.
WoWfugees and mmo hoppers came in with their big ass ADHD and 24/7 gaming schedule and think this is normal.
As a working person of myself with a wife and some hobbies, beside gaming i‘m never running out of content. And even if I do i‘ll just take the chance to chat and run some dungeons while chatting. Those guys need hard ass grinding content to be satisfied.
The sub fee is unwarranted now.
They're not coming out with the content to justify it.
It's just a paywall they waste on other projects, and we know SE is fricking worthless and can't direct for shit.
Every remaster feels like a demaster.
Their OST score has been DOGSHIT for a while now.
FFCC could have got such a good remaster, but they fricking ruined it from the main theme to the god damn end-game.
Imagine fricking P2W Microtransactions on a old beloved GC title.
Fricking hell. Only SE.
Do you guys ever get tired of doomposting?
Go back to playing ragnarok online if you hate xiv so much
Nobody here plays anything
This is somewhat true. I only browse Ganker when I'm working (I work remotely from home) and then once I'm done with my work I will actually play something. However I honestly think the majority of Ganker since I've been browsing maybe 10 years ago are all poorgays that can't play current gen games so all they do is complain.
I can't believe FFXIV is over
do your fricking job janny
shit on 14 or frick off
>6 digit player count
>Opt in tracking
Stick to starfield you annoying fricks. Tortanic was the worst thing to happen to this fricking board, homosexuals endlessly chasing some "high" and wanting shit to fail.
I don't think even Stormblood disappoints this much. Endwalker really shows that they're so drunk by Shadowbringers success and thinking that they could half ass everything other than MSQ, writing quality notwithstanding.
ftp soon?
