I don't make work for myself doing brain off afk content in eureka bozja or fricking erping in limsa. The games combat isn't good enough on it's own to make people want to do hard content, it's why extreme+ content only attracts about 25% of the playerbase instead of more.
You are also quite literally playing the game as a job when you decide to play with a team, you said so yourself since you don't "care" after week 1 while I could just log in, do whatever the frick I want until I get bored and then quit but that shit doesn't exist anymore since all forms of content that support that type of playstyle has been dumbed down to the point of being boring or have just not have anything added to it this expansion.

Are you new to raiding? This is hardly a novel problem. If you're pugging and think you're past x mechanic, you should probably look for groups that at x+2 mechanic. If you don't feel comfortable doing those next 2 mechanics, then review more until you feel like you could get decently through it on the first try - because that's where everyone else is up to too

The game does suffer from having no Eureka/Bozja equivalent this expac. It already suffered when those content forms took a year into an expac cycle to arrive, but now there's nothing. Variant/Criterion are done in a day, Eureka and Bozja were far more repeatable.
And you do need repeatable combat content in an MMO. The other stuff is actually fine, but it can't exist at the exclusion of an old-fashioned MMO grind.
It doesn't help that not only is the Island Sanctuary straight up a bad call for replacing that kind of content, it has absolutely no social aspect besides visitation. Because of this it means absolutely very little besides some cosmetic rewards and some crafter bonuses. At least with Eureka/Bozja, you straight up are encouraged to do things with other players and, for the harder shit, all but NEED a group to hope to clear. The only people that seem to care about IS are the kind of people that prefer sticking to themselves doing whatever the frick they want at a chill pace already.

It's the themepark curse that makes people yearn for an unlimited amount of new content. If the game were more open ended and systems driven then the lack of new content for old systems wouldn't be as devastating
One of the main benefits of eureka/bozja is the "just go do it" nature of the content. It's not like normal content where you have to queue up for it and wait for a party, however long or short that may be, and even more important is that it's content you can do at your own speed. In everything else in the game you have to play, you can't go afk for 10 minutes mid Alliance raid or stand in the spawn in a PVP match until you feel like leaving. With Bozja/Eureka you have that freedom because it's basically an overworld zone with content, you can do what you want, skip what you dislike, and go afk if you need to and it has no negative effect on anyone else.
It's exactly the kind of content the game needs. Also as you noted it's ridiculous they wait so long into the expansion to release it, that shit should be .1 at the LATEST.

With extra weeks added ala what amounts to 3-4 months between each patch making things take even longer than before, every single fricking annoying character or stupid ass plot point is going to be stuck with us for even longer than before. Zero isn't even that bad if you're able to go through all this shit back to back in one go as people unsubbed to wait or folks that will go through the story later can roll through, but having to mull on this shit for several months is absolutely goddamn boring and insufferable from hell.

I think the biggest issue with ffxiv's design has nothing to do with anything you described and more with how absolutely fricking robotic and set in stone the rotations are. You always play the same buttons in a row, no variables with the exception of a couple of ranged.
FFXIV gets to get away from having build variations or using different weapons because your character is not locked to a single class unlike other MMOs
Unironically spamming Frostbolt in vanilla WoW is less mindnumbing than any lvl 90 job rotation in this game.

Just give a sub-division team work to co-develop the next exploratory zone, and it puts all players at Level 1 for their current Job inside of it (though it can still be used to level jobs you haven't gotten up to snuff yet). There this sub-team experiments with shit like Cross-Job stuff as everyone FF5's around with eachother for weird party compositions. It's less about sheer balance and more about experimenting to find crazy shit, and it's only here.

It really is. These homosexuals don't undestand that all I want is more ways to play my class. Not just be forcably pigeonholed into one specific playstyle. It's also idiotic, logically speaking, that each job is forced to use one single weapon, and can't be more proficient in one specialiaty or another (like a paladin that focuses on healing, ffs paladin's already have healing spells).
Like why the frick can a Paladin not use a greatsword? Why is it that, if I want to use a greatsword, I am forced to play the dark-magic-knight themed job? What if I like great, big-ass two-handed swords but don't like the dark edgy theme of dark knights? Why are warriors forced to use Axes and nothing else? It's even dumber because the game occassionally gives you a job weapon that has the skin of a completely different weapon type, like the Asphedelos WAR weapon being a fricking hammer.
Like jesus christ this is a fantasy RPG. Forcing every class to play exactly one way, use only one weapon, is not only boring and restrictive but also just doesn't make any logical sense.

If you're paranoid just sit at your PC and do something else while it runs
Author failed at giving proper directions but you set your movement to standard, put the macro on an hotbar slot somwere, bind the slot to Numpad3 and if you didn't change the default binds too much (the one for camera movements, confirm, cancel) you launch the script and press NumpadDiv to start the loop. If you want to pause you use NumpadMult and if you want to exit the script you use F9
and make a macro that just runs forwards constantly and loots any node once it's within reach, then toy place your ass on the top of the mountain and wait
Assuming you're friendless, hit the leeches in the Tempest and lure them to the clionids. They'll get instakilled but the exp will still go to you. Much easier with the fish spell.

It makes sense. Most of them joined during Shadowbringers and Endwalker so they expect everything to be on that level which is silly. By "that level" I mean the intensity of the story and the huge stakes... they don't even consider that those were conclusions to years long story buildup and not the norm.

Yeah absolutely, I understand what they were trying to do, it genuinely feels like 6.1 is supposed to be a new starting point for people with how it reintroduces you to the scions and a lot of major characters talking like its the first time you're meeting them but jesus christ is it dull. I feel like the FFIV stuff was wasted on this "catch up" story. Doesn't help that the writing was really fricking weird if not downright terrible in spots. I just hope the writer for Dawntrail is better.

Elidibus's actual plot was moronic. The whole forcing the Echo and making warriors of light was idiotic and just there to justify the WoL trial, which was a fantastic trial and cool, but the story was dumb. Telophoroi towers leading up to EW were utter trash.

It's a very fair fight, maybe a tad bit easy but I still thoroughly enjoyed it
it's designed like older fights without limit cut spam, it's mostly dodging and debuffs
There is meteors but that's the only "hard" part
It has one mechanic.
If you can get a groups that consistently gets past Meteors, you will clear within a few more pulls since the rest is literally all standard stack/spread/dodge AoEs.
It's easy but really fun to heal. You can triage and save mistakes really well, and there are moments with rapid-paced multihits. It reminds me of barbie ex a bit which was also an excellent healing experience.

Reminder the reason why EW has no content is due to the casuals complaining that Bozja was too much effort. Not only was there no exploratory zone but the relic was gutted as well.

It's both because they outright said there was no exploration zone because of negative reception. And the people being negative about it were almost exclusively limsa trannies who don't want to play the game for anything and just want everything handed to them, and raidgays who wanted to cry about needing to do content that wasn't a raid to get BiS.

For anyone interested, I did very intensive comparing, of every male and female race at different slider sizes.
The Hrothgal has the precise same size/shape/arch feet as a female elezen. However her legs and knees match those of an elezen male. Her body size matches a 25% roe, and she's slightly above a 100% elezen f or viera f. Her leg thickness, knees, hip size actually all match an Elezen male. She uses Female Highlander running anims and etc.
It appears to me that the NPC was modifided from a MALE ELEZEN skeleton that has female elezen feet placed on it. From here it is only theory or conjecture, but I consider it possible the rest of her is also modified from elezen male. Her size actually matches the exact average of an elezen male at 50% size.
We've had new races be made from modified sliders before, so don't focus on the elezen male part as much as how it gives us a preview of her potential bodyshape/size. We're likely looking at someone tall and lithe who is about as thick as an elezen male but not as thick as a femroe (this does mean we're not sure how the waist turns out there). Since the feet were thatched-on elezen female, I'd imagine the hands are also thatched-on elezen female to help the fingers seem dainty, rather than the large elezen male hands.
It literally is just a thiglander with fur, just like how males are roe with fur. The larges differences between models will be the feet, hands, tail and head along with them having different animations and maybe a different stance if we are lucky
DSR and TOP are many many tiers above TEA, which itself is a few tiers above Ucob and Ultima. Personally I'd say start with Ultima to get used to the faster pace of an ultimate but you'd definitely want to at least do TEA before stepping into DSR or TOP.
TEA is the best, SB ults are good, but the jobs and the game have changed so much they're pretty easy now. I think DSR fricking sucks, but other people seem to like it

Are you new to raiding? This is hardly a novel problem. If you're pugging and think you're past x mechanic, you should probably look for groups that at x+2 mechanic. If you don't feel comfortable doing those next 2 mechanics, then review more until you feel like you could get decently through it on the first try - because that's where everyone else is up to too

The game does suffer from having no Eureka/Bozja equivalent this expac. It already suffered when those content forms took a year into an expac cycle to arrive, but now there's nothing. Variant/Criterion are done in a day, Eureka and Bozja were far more repeatable.
And you do need repeatable combat content in an MMO. The other stuff is actually fine, but it can't exist at the exclusion of an old-fashioned MMO grind.
It doesn't help that not only is the Island Sanctuary straight up a bad call for replacing that kind of content, it has absolutely no social aspect besides visitation. Because of this it means absolutely very little besides some cosmetic rewards and some crafter bonuses. At least with Eureka/Bozja, you straight up are encouraged to do things with other players and, for the harder shit, all but NEED a group to hope to clear. The only people that seem to care about IS are the kind of people that prefer sticking to themselves doing whatever the frick they want at a chill pace already.
Especially Eureka had more social aspects than most other content in the game.

They don't, not even in hunt trains. Atleast hunt trains makes the chat in the overworld activate once or twice a week, otherwise all you hear is crickets. There is also nothing dangerous in the overworld at all an frickall reason to be there unless you like wasting time grinding gemstones so that you can earn worthless gil from the MB at a faster rate

It's the themepark curse that makes people yearn for an unlimited amount of new content. If the game were more open ended and systems driven then the lack of new content for old systems wouldn't be as devastating
One of the main benefits of eureka/bozja is the "just go do it" nature of the content. It's not like normal content where you have to queue up for it and wait for a party, however long or short that may be, and even more important is that it's content you can do at your own speed. In everything else in the game you have to play, you can't go afk for 10 minutes mid Alliance raid or stand in the spawn in a PVP match until you feel like leaving. With Bozja/Eureka you have that freedom because it's basically an overworld zone with content, you can do what you want, skip what you dislike, and go afk if you need to and it has no negative effect on anyone else.
It's exactly the kind of content the game needs. Also as you noted it's ridiculous they wait so long into the expansion to release it, that shit should be .1 at the LATEST.

don't blame zero for the absolute STATE of 6.x writing. There are times when characters are bad because the character itself is bad, and there are times where characters are bad because the writers are bad. most people don't like zero because of how long they dragged out the clueless emotionless bullshit.
Every patch cycle is going to be like this. With extra weeks added ala what amounts to 3-4 months between each patch making things take even longer than before, every single fricking annoying character or stupid ass plot point is going to be stuck with us for even longer than before. Zero isn't even that bad if you're able to go through all this shit back to back in one go as people unsubbed to wait or folks that will go through the story later can roll through, but having to mull on this shit for several months is absolutely goddamn boring and insufferable from hell.

It's the fact that every single job has only one way to play it, there is zero build customization, no talents, nothing. Worse you're even locked to a single weapon-type per job.

Just give a sub-division team work to co-develop the next exploratory zone, and it puts all players at Level 1 for their current Job inside of it (though it can still be used to level jobs you haven't gotten up to snuff yet). There this sub-team experiments with shit like Cross-Job stuff as everyone FF5's around with eachother for weird party compositions. It's less about sheer balance and more about experimenting to find crazy shit, and it's only here.

It's even dumber because the game occassionally gives you a job weapon that has the skin of a completely different weapon type, like the Asphedelos WAR weapon being a fricking hammer.

Author failed at giving proper directions but you set your movement to standard, put the macro on an hotbar slot somwere, bind the slot to Numpad3 and if you didn't change the default binds too much (the one for camera movements, confirm, cancel) you launch the script and press NumpadDiv to start the loop. If you want to pause you use NumpadMult and if you want to exit the script you use F9

it's designed like older fights without limit cut spam, it's mostly dodging and debuffs
There is meteors but that's the only "hard" part
It has one mechanic.
If you can get a groups that consistently gets past Meteors, you will clear within a few more pulls since the rest is literally all standard stack/spread/dodge AoEs.
It's easy but really fun to heal. You can triage and save mistakes really well, and there are moments with rapid-paced multihits. It reminds me of barbie ex a bit which was also an excellent healing experience.

For anyone interested, I did very intensive comparing, of every male and female race at different slider sizes.
The Hrothgal has the precise same size/shape/arch feet as a female elezen. However her legs and knees match those of an elezen male. Her body size matches a 25% roe, and she's slightly above a 100% elezen f or viera f. Her leg thickness, knees, hip size actually all match an Elezen male. She uses Female Highlander running anims and etc.
It appears to me that the NPC was modifided from a MALE ELEZEN skeleton that has female elezen feet placed on it. From here it is only theory or conjecture, but I consider it possible the rest of her is also modified from elezen male. Her size actually matches the exact average of an elezen male at 50% size.
We've had new races be made from modified sliders before, so don't focus on the elezen male part as much as how it gives us a preview of her potential bodyshape/size. We're likely looking at someone tall and lithe who is about as thick as an elezen male but not as thick as a femroe (this does mean we're not sure how the waist turns out there). Since the feet were thatched-on elezen female, I'd imagine the hands are also thatched-on elezen female to help the fingers seem dainty, rather than the large elezen male hands.
It literally is just a thiglander with fur, just like how males are roe with fur. The larges differences between models will be the feet, hands, tail and head along with them having different animations and maybe a different stance if we are lucky

DSR and TOP are many many tiers above TEA, which itself is a few tiers above Ucob and Ultima. Personally I'd say start with Ultima to get used to the faster pace of an ultimate but you'd definitely want to at least do TEA before stepping into DSR or TOP.
TEA is the best, SB ults are good, but the jobs and the game have changed so much they're pretty easy now. I think DSR fricking sucks, but other people seem to like it

all EW fights are stacked in favor of healers
healers get the least mechanics to deal, and the less played roles, mistakes often go unoticed since if someone else brainfarts the whole party explodes
you can literally fake till you make it as a healer and people wont call you out because they need you
