Bozja story was shit, the characters didn't act anything like they did in the field notes, were fairly 1-dimensional and every single thing that happens after Castrum Lacus Litore is TERMINALLY moronic, with the pre-Delubrum cutscene being contender for the most moronic one in the whole game, on par with throwing Nidhogg's eyes. Mikoto gets caught like a moron, the lizard THAT COMES WITH A LITERAL GUN doesn't shoot anyone, Misija monologues like generic bad guy # 453 for 20 minutes straight while nobody does anything, and the WoL acts like he's a level 3 goon the whole time unable to lift a finger.
Misija then proceeds to horrendously warp the everliving frick out of everyone, then ends up becoming a dindu that just magically saves everyone, also we literally have the cure for tempering at that point in the plot but it can't be used no sir, except for that 1 npc at the end where it can. Then rocks fall, bad guys die, story gets resolved in the field notes.
Fully expecting a similar mess with Golbez including a flash forward to 7.0.

DR blades tempering couldn't be undone because they got flesh raped into monsters, even if you clean their souls, their bodies were gone

Alphinaud got his united faction he first wanted to create with the Crystal Braves that failed miserably originally and Alisaie got the cure for Primal Tempering to save victims like Ga Bu and other NPCs sacrificed as Thralls for Primals all over the world.
Endwalker was just bringing them both back home to Sharlayan and dealing with Fourchenault to have their tales recognized by their parents. It all came full circle with them both in the end.

Shards of a person still have different personalities from each other, they just have the same "base traits" so to speak. Hermes and his shards are given to depression and fatalism, but they evolve and deal differently with it based on their actual life experience. Similarly while Ardbert was clearly loving the adventurer life and his personality was similar, his experiences made him different from WoL.
I assume the reason Azem seems lolrandumb and trickter-y is because you take the base that makes WoL (loving adventure, wanting close companions to share it with, caring about people, etc.) and then throw that into the fricking Ancient society where everyone is extremely conformist, uninterested in things they deem below themselves, rarely go out into the rest of the world unless it's for some research, etc. So Azem is trickstery because he's been bored out of his goddamn mind his entire life.

Exceptions don't make the rule. The elpis sidequests have some better examples of the ancients, but it also has quest givers that the worst example and only see you as an object that is expendable. And even the good ones only really see you as a curiosity, not an actual person.
There's some that suspect you aren't a concept or familiar, but not so coincidentally all of them that do that share some catchphrases with the Twelve in the alliance raids

There were two waves and a working third. The first threw up the shield, the second kicked the Lifestream into working again. I don't think it's arguable there wasn't a death cult going on.
