99% of WoW players install an app that tells them how to do the raid because the vast majority of it is shit you just have to die to over and over again to figure out how it actually works and can't intuitively figure out without beating your head against a brick wall "progging". The difficulty is fake as frick and designed to waste your time, much like every other MMO.

It's fun but doesn't feel MMOish enough to really compete with real MMOs.
It feels more like 3rd person Vermintide with Overwatch characters.
In my experience anything marketing itself as an "X Killer" where X is "popular game in the same genre" shits the bed and flops before too long, and nowhere is that truer than in the MMO space where a million pretenders, XIV included, stepped up to the plate to challenge the market leader and almost all of them are hilariously irrelevant.

MMO's are dead because the playerbase is dead. All the classic MMO players wanted to interact with other players in a fantasy world and modern MMO players are all autistic parsetrannies.

I don't see how it's supposed to be anime. You could argue cartoonish or fantastical, but anime characters trend towards different design decisions. These designs look pulled directly from Battleborn or some other hero shooter.
I played all the betas they had this year. It has some potential but there's problems with the combat that is inherent to how they designed it. But the devs did listen to feedback and they fixed a lot of problems I complained about. Characters are pretty grindy unless they fixed that complaint. I was completely unable to get one of the characters that they wanted us to get during one of the betas, so look forward to week+ long grinds.
