During the shadowlands exodus one of the bigger pulls to xiv was the community. This infuriated a lot of people who seemed to take it as 'our community is perfect and we are rubbing it in your face' which has never been the argued case, but it still resulted in a massive gaslighting campaign that only really ended up sticking in Ganker, it spilled out for a solid year though.

unironically it started last september when the braindead zerg of blizzardtards infested this game. XIV threads used to just be full of story discussion, speculation, memes, and DF stories, then suddenly it became infested with shit like in the OP and muh "xiv are cultists because they enjoy the game and aren't criticizing it every second!"
Compared to WoW, the XIV community is relatively wholesome. But relatively is the key word there, as the WoW community is a bunch of scrotes. You still have plenty of morons and buttholes in XIV, and it seems to have a really high percentage of trannies and furries, too.

WHM just attracts shitters. Healer players are largely people too scared and/or dumb to play DPS/Tank and WHM is the most standard and by-the-book MMO healer in the game.
The WHM in my static is also the worst player in our group and fricks up far more than everyone else. Takes longer to learn mechanics too.
WHM used to lose the most damage out of all healers by actually healing since the start right up to the last major patch, 6.1. Still not an excuse for not healing in downtime, though.

That's the way it's meant to be played. Get a few normal raid and tome pieces, clear one floor of savage. A few weeks later, go for another floor, and so on. You aren't meant to use crafted gear or clear the full thing in under 4 weeks.

Most people can't clear it in crafted gear anyway, just some small portion of top-end players can. Yes, they balance the raids to be possible to clear that way, but that's not the way they expect the vast majority of people to play it. Really, the system is designed in a way where most people clear it bit by bit over many weeks.
yeah a lot of people have this problem. even week 1 clear raiders think they need to dump 16+ hour raid days and don't get primal weapons usually it's pretty silly. the average player isn't going to clear shit until week 7+ when they get their pity weapon but until then I don't see the harm in trying.

That depends on world and data center more than anything. The DC split really fricked up a lot of communities. Aether used to have a mix of more social worlds and sweats, now it's known as a sweaty DC where no one really talks. Crystal is very social but they tend to suck at content.

That touches one of the problems. Heavy extrinsic motivation, which is a staple for the genre really. The most important thing is the carrot and it needs to be achieved efficiently. This easily turns into anger when people get in the way of you and your carrot, if they're slow, etc.

idk about that, I was doing bardam's yesterday and this dancer had a borderline melty over a wipe because the healer was a sage, sage told them to drop the clown act
So nah, you definitely see at least 3 types.
Then you have the 4th type which is full on melty usually done by the type of person the dancer is above giving unwanted advice or crying about something insane in normal content arguing for a solid 15 minutes/until someone gets kicked.

There are 4 reasons for this.
1. Many people play on controller, typing is not easy for them.
2. No chat bubbles, often times people won't even notice that something was said to them.
3. Different languages, not sure how much of an issue that might be on NA but on EU there are people who simply don't speak English that well.
4. The game is too easy outside of Extreme / Savage / Ultimate content to push people to communciate. Add to that cross-server dungeon groups with teleporting and people barely have a reason to want to engage in a conversation with someone they neither have to cooperate with nor will ever see again.

before the nerf phase 1 was much harder. now it's about even with phase 2 maybe being easier. that guy is so frustrated because that WHM in question would not heal when even phase 2 has a lot of forced downtime where you quite literally only need to be healed during mechanics. you cannot target the boss so them not even doing that is bad. what I don't understand is why the guy let it get to this point in the first place. I could understand if this were week 1 still and finding a replacement would actually be extremely hard but we're talking week 4. Most people have at the very least 4-5 tome pieces and are on the fight now. Just kick the guy and catch someone else up to your prog point it wouldn't actually be that hard now.

enrages are designed around casters contributing to the damage and for a long time mechanics have been predictable enough and healer kits overtuned enough that you can just hit an ogcd heal at set times and resolve mechanics. there's no "oh shit I have to surprise heal" because if someone fricks up that bad its a wipe anyway
all healers that is, except white mage, who is the only healer that lost damage to heal while the other 3 could just shit out free healing while doing damage, this has trained these people to never actually heal that much

the amount of tanks that don't press mits is astronomically minuscule compared to healers that don't heal, you are taught as a tank to mitigate thats all you fricking do is press mits for tank busters. you are taught as a healer (in savage and ultimate content) that you are suppose to heal as little as possible, so when shit gets shaken up the dogshit healer playerbase they just blame the tanks.

yeah but im talking about the general savage player base in both cases. you can't really get away with not popping mit and generally tanks in PF are not doing this, the only problem this tier is tanks that still only immune thinking that still works. healers also need to realize that boss auto attacks hit like a fricking truck and in some cases (p7s) you are getting hit with double bleed stacks, mitigating literally only gets you so far, and healers still think they can just ogcd heal like they have been doing since forever and be fine.

I'm sort of in the same position, but what I started doing since SB was just grinding relic weapons that I liked, doing treasure maps, playing "exploration" content like Eureka/Bozja and going for singleplayer cheevos like Necromancer. I've just ran out of shit do now since I was kind of disappointed in Island sanctuaries (they are a good start, but they are timegated as frick and don't have enough content or even just replayabillity to justify its own existence yet) so unless the new Criterion dungeons or new deep dungeons are good, I'm just going to pass on the rest of the expansion.
I'm just not having fun when raiding like I used to have fun in WoW and in HW/SB, don't get me wrong, I'll always do the normal mode for each raid atleast once just to see them and I still have atleast some fun with that, but since so much of the difficulty comes from vetting morons or keeping friends intrested in the game long enough to clear anything Ultimate tier and above, I just became so frustrated and bored with it that I stopped doing it.
YoshiP really needs to up the general difficulty of the game from atleast level 30ish and onwards since it's plainly obvious that making everything outside of "hardcore" raiding extremely easy only breeds lazyness, an unwillingness to learn and hostility between players while pushing anyone who doesn't like the story or mindnumbing grind away from the game
The 2-min timer gameplay is also extremley shit and for the first time ever, I've not found a single job in the game that I like to play for fun anymore, I wish they would just stop copying WoW now since they are bigger than it, but it seems that YoshiP is adamant at just making WoW 2 while fixing very little of the problems that brings

Deserved. Healers that are obsessed over damage parsing are the single biggest stress ffactor for any static.
Had to deal with someone exactly like this in my previous static last tier, and it was a fricking nightmare.
He was so self convinced that he was an amazing player because he's parsing 80-90's in dps and 0-10 in healing, while massively slowing down prog and overstressing the other healer as a consequence.
It didn't end in a spergout of that level, but it did cause 2 of our mid-skill players to just quit raiding forever.
These kinds of players are the poster children for the Dunning-Kruger effect. God forbid if they actually clear an ultimate and undeservedly triple their ego because of it.

My bottom line is if only one (1) person died to a raidwide, it's almost always certainly not my fault and they took an excess of damage somewhere or missed a heal/shield somehow prior.
Doubly so if it's a magic DPS that dies to a magical raidwide since they have higher magic defence. Most jobs have some sort of personal shield/mitigation to cover for these kinds of blips too but they'll almost always go unpressed.

The only personal mit BLM has is manaward every 2 minutes, and if they were using it to reduce stress on healing instead of sitting on it for 6 minutes it's not reflexively available. SMN is even worse, the personal mit it has is Radiant Aegis, and it can't use that while Garuda, Ifrit, Titan, Bahamut, or Firebird are summoned, so they can only use it during like 10% of the fight total, dependent on their rotation.
And there's still 0 reason for them to die if I'm still alive unless they were actually dodging heals.

SMN here, I save it for anytime a big hit is coming. Generally the fights align with the rotation that you can slide it in between summons anyway. It lasts longer than bahamut or firebird, so if it's necessary just use it before your big summon.
Healer is unironically the hardest role to play this tier if you're pugging. No other role gets fricked as hard for the mistakes of your teammates. Go fricking try healing P5S with shitty tanks and shit co-healer and tell me it isn't the most stressful shit ever. >B-but healers are always asking for more healing

Part of what exasperates the pugging is that it's less a healing check and more a raw mitigation check, almost all of which is out of the healer's direct control.

you'll catch people in 90 dungeons that still don't use mitigation as a tank, dps as a healer, use AOE on 3+ mobs and DPS that don't have any clue what they're doing in general.
Some of it's obvious if you're not a total fricking thicko but the optimisation, rotations kinda require guides.
endgame content is on another level. it requires a greater understanding of one's job and has more strict boss mechanics. the level of play required for endgame content is not taught by the msq, it can only be taught by jumping into the deep end.
but i would note that the jump is not THAT large. it's easy for any half decent player to adjust to the new pace set by endgame content. keyword: half decent.
It doesn't throw dialogue boxes at you like modern games, but it does ramp up mechanics over time so you get a feel for what things do. They also introduced a tutorial area where some NPCs run you through extreme basics and you get some decent starting armour from it. The only thing you might need a guide on is running an *optimal* skill rotation, though, if you're good with reading you can work it out for yourself pretty easily.

Questing doesnt get good ever, gameplay gets good so gradually you dont even notice until you are synced down or start levelling another job, and the plotwise you are probably around the worst part of the game, it does get a lot better but it's the quality it should've been from the beginning, if you got the patience eventually you'll be playing a pretty good game but if you dont quit now
The MSQ will never stop being generic MMO quests with some of the worst pacing you'll ever experience, but the characters and story significantly improve if you're able to overcome the 50 to 70 hours of worldbuilding needed for the rest of the game. It's not worth it if you don't find any enjoyment in it now.

Compared to shadowbringers the positionals are actually harder now. Instead of having 20 potency positionals on everything you have 60 potency positionals on your coeurl skills. But now Riddle of Earth doesn't negate positionals.
I have a tone of things I would love to see, but to be honest, I have no idea what to expect for Scholar.
Given the amount removed skills and downplaying of the jobs single unique feature, the fairies, and even removing the only other use for Fey Gauge and adding a party sprint, I really cant think of what theyll add or remove next.

in shadowbringers monk players would just stand on the bosses ass the entire fight because bootshine was the only one that wasn't an extremely minor boost in potency that barely cost you anything for missing and between 3 stacks of ROE and 2 true north you could go nearly a full minute without having to do posiionals right at all
EW retooling RoE into an extremely strong defensive cooldown (with this and mantra monk is now by far the tankiest dps, which was part of monks character in single player ff games) and not just a crutch to make positionals possible in fights where we make the boss spin around like a top and making your few positionals left way more important was a good move, just like everything in EW mnk was a massive improvement over shb mnk or really every mnk that wasn't TK mnk. I would much rather optimize thunderclap and PB uses and I can just pretend to do the positionals anyway because after they stopped being a requirement for anything besides damage they're basically just a way to trick you that you're doing more then you actually are by having to move around instead of standing in one spot and shifting 1 inch left/right to hit side/ass

There will be normal trials/raids and their Extreme/Savage versions. The normal stuff is widely accessible. The Extreme/Savage are accessible unsynced, which means with the best gear/higher levels than the fight was made for. The Extreme/Savage fights can also be done Synced, which means at the level it was originally made for. That is harder to find people to do it with.
If you queue up for extreme fights, there's a chance you'll eventually get a group or if you look in party finder, you can find a synced group
Took me a while to do all extremes of Stormblood synced and there are party finder groups for Shadowbringers that pop up kinda rarely. There's definitely people doing endgame ARR and Heavensward

I also haven't touched extreme or savage content. Basically the white mage is not healing as much as the scholar by a wide margin. This same player has also complained about not being able to clear. This caused the dude streaming to blow up on them and even make a vid compilation of some of their mistakes.
The WHM is being a c**t and not carrying their own weight healing wise while also being a shitter in general. I have no idea how the SCH put up with that shit at al. Healing this tier with a bad co-healer is fricking aids.
SCH and SGE are shield healers. They have a ton of options for limiting damage (shields, percent-based mitigations, etc.), but they have limited tools for healing large amounts of HP directly. WHM and AST (kind of? I know very little about AST) are called "regen healers" or "pure healers", and are the reverse: They have a bunch of tools for healing large amounts of HP, and few for blocking/mitigating damage in the first place.
The WHM in the video was managing to achieve a fricking 0% healing parse. This means, compared to all the WHMs who have ever cleared this fight, this person healed the absolute LEAST. This puts a huge burden on the other healer (played SGE in the clear that had the end-of-stream rant, but also plays SCH according to other clips) who now has to find ways to keep people alive despite no support from the WHM. In other words, the SCH/SGE was going above and beyond to carry the group to make up for playing with a shit WHM.
Once a healer runs out of oGCD tools to help with healing, they have to sacrifice GCDs (casting healing spells instead of Ruin/Broil/Dosis/Stone/Glare/whatever) to keep people up. WHMs can shit out incredible amounts of healing with their GCD heals. Since this Godawful WHM wasn't doing that, the SCH/SGE had to spend many, many more GCDs healing, since their GCD heals are far weaker. Fights are designed around each of the healers pulling their own weight, so the SCH/SGE doing the WHM's job in addition to their own is extremely impressive. The WHM making the SCH/SGE have to do all that work, therefore, is extremely rude/selfish/shitty. What's more, even though this WHM was never healing, he didn't even do an impressive amount of damage to make up for it. He's just shit.

astro healing is literally just hit button when damage happens. the skill cieling is learning how many buttons you need for a mechanic to avoid massively overhealing but given how low the cooldown on everything is that kind of doesn't matter that much. macrocosmos ignores entire mechanics. everything is very direct when X happens hit Y because you have rng cards and need some consistency or nobody would play this class
scholar has resource management with aetherflow so you can't just hit buttons as they light up if HP bars are low, and 3 mutually exclusive groups of healing buttons with dissipate vs seraph vs the few things only normal fairy can do and then has all kinds of quirks like using fairy to heal from places (you) cant, using ED for minmaxing your damage, when it's worth it to critlo vs using recitate for its other uses and expedient. in general you have buttons with more possible uses you need to sus out.
also expedient is also bullshit but especially after the nerf you still need to time it right and people need to still get the frick out of the bad, once you hit macrocosmos your job is done

Because it requires more active targeting/planning than every other healer's kit? WHM hits lily-button during AoE/buy movement. SCH just EDs over and over or eats fairy if the section of that fight allows for it. SGE is SGE. They don't have any RNG to deal with or trying to also hit up buffs on certain dps during 1min rotation points as well.
So is BLM technically the best at taking advantage of SMN's Searing Light buff, since most other jobs barely have 15s of actual burst let alone 30s of it, meanwhile BLM has 30s of Leylines to line up to it and can get back to a full fire phase in 2 GCDs?

I'm sticking with my guns here, the next classes should be Geomancer (magic dps) and Rune Knight (tank)
Geomancer's gimmick will be it uses all elements, it will have a 1-2-3-4 combo representing the elements Earth, Wind, Fire, Water that will fill a gauge to unleash the fifth element Meat Popsicle.
Rune Knight will have no percentage mitigations, it will rely solely on shields both self shields and party wide shields. It's weapon will be either a runeshield (great shield in the main hand) with off hand weapon, or some completely new weapon.
you should probably play scholar instead because sage is essentially just a weaker scholar with a bit of white mage thrown in (and it does less damage then white mage) but with a cool dash move but if you're really set on it I strongly consider getting a macro so you can just mouse over someone in your party to dash to them and don't forget to put kardia on the right person
The healing through damage (Kardia) is oversold so don't think you're gonna keep anyone up through that, especially in PF.
You should never cast anything without Eukrasia first unless you're scaled down in roulettes.

When and where did this ever start? I've never heard people say things like this in game and have only ever heard it on Ganker.
During the shadowlands exodus one of the bigger pulls to xiv was the community. This infuriated a lot of people who seemed to take it as 'our community is perfect and we are rubbing it in your face' which has never been the argued case, but it still resulted in a massive gaslighting campaign that only really ended up sticking in Ganker, it spilled out for a solid year though.

The WHM in my static is also the worst player in our group and fricks up far more than everyone else. Takes longer to learn mechanics too.
WHM used to lose the most damage out of all healers by actually healing since the start right up to the last major patch, 6.1. Still not an excuse for not healing in downtime, though.

That's the way it's meant to be played. Get a few normal raid and tome pieces, clear one floor of savage. A few weeks later, go for another floor, and so on. You aren't meant to use crafted gear or clear the full thing in under 4 weeks.

Most people can't clear it in crafted gear anyway, just some small portion of top-end players can. Yes, they balance the raids to be possible to clear that way, but that's not the way they expect the vast majority of people to play it. Really, the system is designed in a way where most people clear it bit by bit over many weeks.

yeah a lot of people have this problem. even week 1 clear raiders think they need to dump 16+ hour raid days and don't get primal weapons usually it's pretty silly. the average player isn't going to clear shit until week 7+ when they get their pity weapon but until then I don't see the harm in trying.

That depends on world and data center more than anything. The DC split really fricked up a lot of communities. Aether used to have a mix of more social worlds and sweats, now it's known as a sweaty DC where no one really talks. Crystal is very social but they tend to suck at content.

It has less to do with players and more to do with the game not incentivizing socialization in the slightest in that content. Few people start talking to strangers spontaneously, especially if they're people you'll probably never run into again.

That touches one of the problems. Heavy extrinsic motivation, which is a staple for the genre really. The most important thing is the carrot and it needs to be achieved efficiently. This easily turns into anger when people get in the way of you and your carrot, if they're slow, etc.

There are 4 reasons for this.
1. Many people play on controller, typing is not easy for them.
2. No chat bubbles, often times people won't even notice that something was said to them.
3. Different languages, not sure how much of an issue that might be on NA but on EU there are people who simply don't speak English that well.
4. The game is too easy outside of Extreme / Savage / Ultimate content to push people to communciate. Add to that cross-server dungeon groups with teleporting and people barely have a reason to want to engage in a conversation with someone they neither have to cooperate with nor will ever see again.

Only done P1 in PF so far and it was too easy to justify losing your shit over it
before the nerf phase 1 was much harder. now it's about even with phase 2 maybe being easier. that guy is so frustrated because that WHM in question would not heal when even phase 2 has a lot of forced downtime where you quite literally only need to be healed during mechanics. you cannot target the boss so them not even doing that is bad. what I don't understand is why the guy let it get to this point in the first place. I could understand if this were week 1 still and finding a replacement would actually be extremely hard but we're talking week 4. Most people have at the very least 4-5 tome pieces and are on the fight now. Just kick the guy and catch someone else up to your prog point it wouldn't actually be that hard now.

enrages are designed around casters contributing to the damage and for a long time mechanics have been predictable enough and healer kits overtuned enough that you can just hit an ogcd heal at set times and resolve mechanics. there's no "oh shit I have to surprise heal" because if someone fricks up that bad its a wipe anyway

yeah but im talking about the general savage player base in both cases. you can't really get away with not popping mit and generally tanks in PF are not doing this, the only problem this tier is tanks that still only immune thinking that still works. healers also need to realize that boss auto attacks hit like a fricking truck and in some cases (p7s) you are getting hit with double bleed stacks, mitigating literally only gets you so far, and healers still think they can just ogcd heal like they have been doing since forever and be fine.
It doesn't help that single target healing is hardly a thing they ever ask healers to do in this game so when it finally happens they all shit the bed. A lot of the problems PF raiding has stem from the fact that SE completely fails at teaching/filtering people.

I'm sort of in the same position, but what I started doing since SB was just grinding relic weapons that I liked, doing treasure maps, playing "exploration" content like Eureka/Bozja and going for singleplayer cheevos like Necromancer. I've just ran out of shit do now since I was kind of disappointed in Island sanctuaries (they are a good start, but they are timegated as frick and don't have enough content or even just replayabillity to justify its own existence yet) so unless the new Criterion dungeons or new deep dungeons are good, I'm just going to pass on the rest of the expansion.
I'm just not having fun when raiding like I used to have fun in WoW and in HW/SB, don't get me wrong, I'll always do the normal mode for each raid atleast once just to see them and I still have atleast some fun with that, but since so much of the difficulty comes from vetting morons or keeping friends intrested in the game long enough to clear anything Ultimate tier and above, I just became so frustrated and bored with it that I stopped doing it.
YoshiP really needs to up the general difficulty of the game from atleast level 30ish and onwards since it's plainly obvious that making everything outside of "hardcore" raiding extremely easy only breeds lazyness, an unwillingness to learn and hostility between players while pushing anyone who doesn't like the story or mindnumbing grind away from the game
The 2-min timer gameplay is also extremley shit and for the first time ever, I've not found a single job in the game that I like to play for fun anymore, I wish they would just stop copying WoW now since they are bigger than it, but it seems that YoshiP is adamant at just making WoW 2 while fixing very little of the problems that brings

Deserved. Healers that are obsessed over damage parsing are the single biggest stress ffactor for any static.
Had to deal with someone exactly like this in my previous static last tier, and it was a fricking nightmare.
He was so self convinced that he was an amazing player because he's parsing 80-90's in dps and 0-10 in healing, while massively slowing down prog and overstressing the other healer as a consequence.
It didn't end in a spergout of that level, but it did cause 2 of our mid-skill players to just quit raiding forever.
These kinds of players are the poster children for the Dunning-Kruger effect. God forbid if they actually clear an ultimate and undeservedly triple their ego because of it.

My bottom line is if only one (1) person died to a raidwide, it's almost always certainly not my fault and they took an excess of damage somewhere or missed a heal/shield somehow prior.
Doubly so if it's a magic DPS that dies to a magical raidwide since they have higher magic defence. Most jobs have some sort of personal shield/mitigation to cover for these kinds of blips too but they'll almost always go unpressed.
Magic DPS also has 10% less HP and in the case of RDM they have no personal mitigation.

The only personal mit BLM has is manaward every 2 minutes, and if they were using it to reduce stress on healing instead of sitting on it for 6 minutes it's not reflexively available. SMN is even worse, the personal mit it has is Radiant Aegis, and it can't use that while Garuda, Ifrit, Titan, Bahamut, or Firebird are summoned, so they can only use it during like 10% of the fight total, dependent on their rotation.
And there's still 0 reason for them to die if I'm still alive unless they were actually dodging heals.

Radiant Aegis has a 30s duration, 2 stacks and is on a minute cooldown. You don't have to apply it on reflex if you know you might be out of range for something ahead of time, like any time you know the party has to spread for a mechanic.

Good hyperbole. It's closer to 45% over any minute. Garuda, Ifrit and Titan on stay on the field for roughly 6 seconds each.

SMN here, I save it for anytime a big hit is coming. Generally the fights align with the rotation that you can slide it in between summons anyway. It lasts longer than bahamut or firebird, so if it's necessary just use it before your big summon.
Healer is unironically the hardest role to play this tier if you're pugging. No other role gets fricked as hard for the mistakes of your teammates. Go fricking try healing P5S with shitty tanks and shit co-healer and tell me it isn't the most stressful shit ever.

Part of what exasperates the pugging is that it's less a healing check and more a raw mitigation check, almost all of which is out of the healer's direct control.

you'll catch people in 90 dungeons that still don't use mitigation as a tank, dps as a healer, use AOE on 3+ mobs and DPS that don't have any clue what they're doing in general.
Some of it's obvious if you're not a total fricking thicko but the optimisation, rotations kinda require guides.
endgame content is on another level. it requires a greater understanding of one's job and has more strict boss mechanics. the level of play required for endgame content is not taught by the msq, it can only be taught by jumping into the deep end.
but i would note that the jump is not THAT large. it's easy for any half decent player to adjust to the new pace set by endgame content. keyword: half decent.
It doesn't throw dialogue boxes at you like modern games, but it does ramp up mechanics over time so you get a feel for what things do. They also introduced a tutorial area where some NPCs run you through extreme basics and you get some decent starting armour from it. The only thing you might need a guide on is running an *optimal* skill rotation, though, if you're good with reading you can work it out for yourself pretty easily.
After a few hundred hours of the MSQ, you'll have a decent grasp of the mechanics.

Questing doesnt get good ever, gameplay gets good so gradually you dont even notice until you are synced down or start levelling another job, and the plotwise you are probably around the worst part of the game, it does get a lot better but it's the quality it should've been from the beginning, if you got the patience eventually you'll be playing a pretty good game but if you dont quit now
The MSQ will never stop being generic MMO quests with some of the worst pacing you'll ever experience, but the characters and story significantly improve if you're able to overcome the 50 to 70 hours of worldbuilding needed for the rest of the game.
It's not worth it if you don't find any enjoyment in it now.

Compared to shadowbringers the positionals are actually harder now. Instead of having 20 potency positionals on everything you have 60 potency positionals on your coeurl skills. But now Riddle of Earth doesn't negate positionals.

Given the amount removed skills and downplaying of the jobs single unique feature, the fairies, and even removing the only other use for Fey Gauge and adding a party sprint, I really cant think of what theyll add or remove next.

in shadowbringers monk players would just stand on the bosses ass the entire fight because bootshine was the only one that wasn't an extremely minor boost in potency that barely cost you anything for missing and between 3 stacks of ROE and 2 true north you could go nearly a full minute without having to do posiionals right at all
EW retooling RoE into an extremely strong defensive cooldown (with this and mantra monk is now by far the tankiest dps, which was part of monks character in single player ff games) and not just a crutch to make positionals possible in fights where we make the boss spin around like a top and making your few positionals left way more important was a good move, just like everything in EW mnk was a massive improvement over shb mnk or really every mnk that wasn't TK mnk. I would much rather optimize thunderclap and PB uses and I can just pretend to do the positionals anyway because after they stopped being a requirement for anything besides damage they're basically just a way to trick you that you're doing more then you actually are by having to move around instead of standing in one spot and shifting 1 inch left/right to hit side/ass

There will be normal trials/raids and their Extreme/Savage versions. The normal stuff is widely accessible. The Extreme/Savage are accessible unsynced, which means with the best gear/higher levels than the fight was made for. The Extreme/Savage fights can also be done Synced, which means at the level it was originally made for. That is harder to find people to do it with.
You can probably find groups of people who do old content unsynced if you try.
If you queue up for extreme fights, there's a chance you'll eventually get a group or if you look in party finder, you can find a synced group
Took me a while to do all extremes of Stormblood synced and there are party finder groups for Shadowbringers that pop up kinda rarely. There's definitely people doing endgame ARR and Heavensward

I also haven't touched extreme or savage content. Basically the white mage is not healing as much as the scholar by a wide margin. This same player has also complained about not being able to clear. This caused the dude streaming to blow up on them and even make a vid compilation of some of their mistakes.
The WHM is being a c**t and not carrying their own weight healing wise while also being a shitter in general. I have no idea how the SCH put up with that shit at al. Healing this tier with a bad co-healer is fricking aids.
SCH and SGE are shield healers. They have a ton of options for limiting damage (shields, percent-based mitigations, etc.), but they have limited tools for healing large amounts of HP directly. WHM and AST (kind of? I know very little about AST) are called "regen healers" or "pure healers", and are the reverse: They have a bunch of tools for healing large amounts of HP, and few for blocking/mitigating damage in the first place.
The WHM in the video was managing to achieve a fricking 0% healing parse. This means, compared to all the WHMs who have ever cleared this fight, this person healed the absolute LEAST. This puts a huge burden on the other healer (played SGE in the clear that had the end-of-stream rant, but also plays SCH according to other clips) who now has to find ways to keep people alive despite no support from the WHM. In other words, the SCH/SGE was going above and beyond to carry the group to make up for playing with a shit WHM.
Once a healer runs out of oGCD tools to help with healing, they have to sacrifice GCDs (casting healing spells instead of Ruin/Broil/Dosis/Stone/Glare/whatever) to keep people up. WHMs can shit out incredible amounts of healing with their GCD heals. Since this Godawful WHM wasn't doing that, the SCH/SGE had to spend many, many more GCDs healing, since their GCD heals are far weaker. Fights are designed around each of the healers pulling their own weight, so the SCH/SGE doing the WHM's job in addition to their own is extremely impressive. The WHM making the SCH/SGE have to do all that work, therefore, is extremely rude/selfish/shitty. What's more, even though this WHM was never healing, he didn't even do an impressive amount of damage to make up for it. He's just shit.

astro healing is literally just hit button when damage happens. the skill cieling is learning how many buttons you need for a mechanic to avoid massively overhealing but given how low the cooldown on everything is that kind of doesn't matter that much. macrocosmos ignores entire mechanics. everything is very direct when X happens hit Y because you have rng cards and need some consistency or nobody would play this class
scholar has resource management with aetherflow so you can't just hit buttons as they light up if HP bars are low, and 3 mutually exclusive groups of healing buttons with dissipate vs seraph vs the few things only normal fairy can do and then has all kinds of quirks like using fairy to heal from places (you) cant, using ED for minmaxing your damage, when it's worth it to critlo vs using recitate for its other uses and expedient. in general you have buttons with more possible uses you need to sus out.
also expedient is also bullshit but especially after the nerf you still need to time it right and people need to still get the frick out of the bad, once you hit macrocosmos your job is done

Because it requires more active targeting/planning than every other healer's kit? WHM hits lily-button during AoE/buy movement. SCH just EDs over and over or eats fairy if the section of that fight allows for it. SGE is SGE. They don't have any RNG to deal with or trying to also hit up buffs on certain dps during 1min rotation points as well.

I'm sticking with my guns here, the next classes should be Geomancer (magic dps) and Rune Knight (tank)
Geomancer's gimmick will be it uses all elements, it will have a 1-2-3-4 combo representing the elements Earth, Wind, Fire, Water that will fill a gauge to unleash the fifth element Meat Popsicle.
Rune Knight will have no percentage mitigations, it will rely solely on shields both self shields and party wide shields. It's weapon will be either a runeshield (great shield in the main hand) with off hand weapon, or some completely new weapon.
Geomancer is a shield healer bro, we've had their lore and seen a bunch of their abilities since Stormblood.

Healing potency is based on style factor so make sure you have a good glamour
you should probably play scholar instead because sage is essentially just a weaker scholar with a bit of white mage thrown in (and it does less damage then white mage) but with a cool dash move but if you're really set on it I strongly consider getting a macro so you can just mouse over someone in your party to dash to them and don't forget to put kardia on the right person
The healing through damage (Kardia) is oversold so don't think you're gonna keep anyone up through that, especially in PF.
You should never cast anything without Eukrasia first unless you're scaled down in roulettes.
Always be casting Eukrasian Diagnosis on the tank so you're getting stacks of Addersting to use for DPS. You'll know when it gets broken as you'll hear a sound. Cast Toxikon, re-shield the tank.
If your group isn't standing in shit, just cast Kerachole on cool down to keep your MP up. Or, if you wanna save it for mitigation of raid-wides, waste a Druochole as there's no cooldown. Don't let your Addersgall cap.
Holos got a buff and it's now your new best friend.
Zoe says it works with any healing spell, but I don't think it works with the -choles: the off-GCD heals. It's best used with Pneuma, which is your big healing laser.

Toxikon doesn't use MP though. Unless you're drowning in Piety, Dosis can become a real MP leech. You can bank two Addersting for movement.
